Terminus
Centuries ago, the aquatic alien Sa arrived to explore Earth's wonders. Initially, they disregarded the dominant land-dwelling humans, viewing them as dangerous and primitive. However, the Sa explorers became marooned on Earth when an aggressive interstellar species invaded and occupied their home worlds.
Now, human-induced climate change and nuclear weapon proliferation threaten the Sa's existence. With their expertise in genetic manipulation, the Sa created a hybrid human species called the HumanSo to alter man's destructive behavior toward Earth's ecology. Unfortunately, their efforts fail.

In September 2003, he was deployed with the 21st Combat Support Hospital to Balad, Iraq, where he demonstrated that advanced regional anesthesia could be effectively used in a forward-deployed environment. He performed the first successful continuous peripheral nerve block for pain management in a combat support hospital. In April 2009, he deployed with the British military to Camp Bastion, Afghanistan, where he organized the first acute pain service in a theater of war.
When he is not sailing, Trip is venturing into the realm of science fiction writing. His storytelling is heavily influenced by his experiences as an Army officer, his family—consisting of his wife and three daughters—and his passion for sailing.

I did not finish the book. The author had a nice premise and I was looking forward to some new ideas. But the author spent too much time in ideological narration for my tastes. So much so that I got bored and put it down. Too bad; I thought the premise was good and it’s probably a unique story. Sorry.

This book was absolutely incredible from the prologue It had me hooked - I’m not usually a sci-fi person, but the way the author described how everything worked and the world building was just insane!! I can’t wait for the next book!

Fantastic book from a new writer on the scene! I would highly recommend. It’s sci fi in a way that offers an alternate universe to what is happening in the world today. Can’t wait for the next in the series.
