He is best known for the "Bains Series" of novels for children set in Canada in the 1870s. There are now seven books in the series. He plans to write twelve altogether with settings in every part of the country. A film series by CBC and BBC is in the planning stages.

Pretty interesting play. A very quick read but definetly worth it. Was actually not too bad. Had a good plot and great themes of hardship love and compassion. Loved the female characters and the inspirational messages. Especially Marie and Alice. Would recommend for marxist and gender lens 1000% percent.
