This was a slow burn but a quick timeline at the same time. At one point so much had happened and the MMC was like “yeah this has been a busy week & a half🤣” Daniel was the PERFECT cinnamon roll boyfriend. He was obsessed with his Sunshine. He was steady. Patient. Affirming. Encouraging & Protective.
Courtney was broken down by her ex and was resistant to Daniel & his love, not believing she was worthy of it. But she put in the work (loved the therapy rep) until she began to accept that she deserved the love Daniel freely gave. And I loved seeing her walls fall & heart open.
What I liked about this book was that it was a reminder that we don’t necessarily have to wait to “have it all together” in order to be “worthy” of receiving softness, kindness, and unconditional love. We are worthy just because we are. Additionally, sometimes we really do heal in relationship with others. But it only worked because she had an awareness that she needed to heal & he had the patience to walk it through with her. And I loved seeing the journey.
I enjoyed the relationship that the sisters had as well!
This book had me hooked from the very first page. My thoughts went from “oop, this is how we’re starting 👀” to “oh wow, this is really how we’re starting 😩,” and I knew right then I was all in. This story took me through every emotion imaginable. I was laughing out loud, swooning hard, and having my heart completely shattered (don’t worry, Tember put it back together in the end). I love how patient Daniel was with Courtney. We’ve all been hurt by someone we thought loved so she was definitely relatable when it came to how she had her walls up. Don’t even get me started on how Daniel had my heart hurting for him. I’m sad to say goodbye to the sister but I’m glad I got to be apart of their world 🖤✨
Tember truly has a way with words that pulls you in and refuses to let go. The emotions felt raw, genuine, and so easy to connect to. This is her first series, but even from her debut novel alone, she had me fully invested and eager to keep turning the pages. After every book I was ready for the next book in the series and they never disappointed.
✨The fourth and final book in this sports romance series. This was my first sports series and I loved every book. The series got better with every new release. This series is an interconnected series. You can read it out of order but I definitely recommend reading them in order. Thank you Tember for this amazing series. I’m sad to say good bye to this world and characters you created.
This book had me hooked fast. One chapter in and I was already all in. Daniel is the kind of MMC you immediately get attached to. Confident, charming, emotionally present, and somehow still grounded. Honestly, can all MMCs be Daniel and his friends because that whole circle was a win. What really stood out to me was how fully developed the characters felt. They weren’t just there to move the plot along. They had depth, history, and chemistry that felt natural. The romance unfolded in a way that made sense emotionally, especially coming off heartbreak, and I loved watching trust build instead of just being assumed. And the spice? So good. Steamy, satisfying, and perfectly balanced with the story. It added to the connection instead of overpowering it. I also loved the sisterhood. Funny, close, supportive, and unbreakable. Those moments brought so much warmth and humor and made the world feel lived in. I truly could not put this book down. Even though I’m jumping into this world with book four, I’m already excited to go back and start from book one. This was an easy five stars for me.
Having read all 4 books in this series, Court and Daniel's book was the most relatable, hard-hitting, emotional, content sensitive and beautiful journey of them all.
To be able to portray the difficult, heavy life experiences that made up our FMC and MMC, but still have such a gentle, light, fun love throughout, really showed all the best parts of Tember's writing.
Daniel and Court both had such intense baggage, but you really truly felt how hard they worked to bring compassionate and nurturing energy to the table still; both for each other and everyone around them.
The cultural diversity and representation, mental health and therapy portrayal, and importance of human connection being key elements, were all top tier.
And as always, there was some fun character cameos, a little Charles sister branded sass, some "boys being boys" hilarity, and some spicy hot chemistry!
The last book of the Charles' sisters stories, really was the pinnacle of the 2 years we got to have with them. A wonderful, heart-wrenching, endearing, hilarious and hope inspired end.
I can't wait to have this baby on my shelf of book trophies!
Book 4 introduced us to Daniel and Courtney. An accidental Vegas wedding and turns into so much more. When the Charles sisters travel, something always happens. LoL. Anywho, Courtney’s story pulled at the heartstrings. The challenges that she faced really made this story feel real. Being a person who struggled with getting pregnant I connected with her character on a personal level. It really made me was to cry but think about how strong she was Daniel, our new leading man, had a lot to live up to but I’m happy to say he passed the test. He was everything a dreamboat should be. He was honest, real, protective, and a hottie. I had no clue about the sport he played so yes I googled cricket because I was like “yes he’s hot but no clue what is happening in his game.” LoL Another thing I enjoyed was the therapy rep. Therapy seems to be a taboo ppl don’t speak about but both Daniel and Court attend therapy and it gives a good representation that there is nothing wrong with seeking help. The next thing I love about ALL of the books in this series is the cultural diversity. Daniel is British Jamaican. So we were able to see his family culture and how him and Court are similar with their upbringing. Each sister has a man that makes me want to visit their country. I’ve been to England before but I’ve never seen a cricket game so she got me ready to learn a new sport. lol. Seeing the sisters is always fun but seeing all their men was a nice surprise. Book 4 wrapped up the series nicely.
This is Courtney's story! She's just received earth and heart shattering news and as she looks forward to some solace from her boyfriend she catches him in the act of cheating. This further obliterates her life to peices.
Thank heavens for her loving sisters that sweep in to help her pick up the peices.
A getaway trip to Vegas with her sisters and a "f*ck it" list in hand Courtney decides to be daring.
Little did she know that meeting Daniel (Cricket Player) would give her a night of fun and connection she never in a million years could have expected.
I really loved reading about their steamy, sweet and wild night of connection.
They both are struggling but Daniel is not about to give up on this ray of sunshine that has suddenly appeared in his life even though it's all tough for him to navigate.
His thoughtfulness and patience to win Courtney's affection fully was precious. The slow burn was sloooow but man, I enjoyed every moment.✨️
As cute and sweet as this book was, it did deal with heavy emotional topics and mental health care.
It was great to read about the sisters and their partners as side characters and although I feel this book can be read as a standalone, reading the previous books will certainly enhance the reading experience.
Many thanks to Author for the opportunity to read in advance! 💖✨️
Tropes: Sports Romance (Cricket) Accidental Vegas Wedding Strangers to Lovers Upgrade from Ex Mental Health Rep
This book is for the girlies who have lived in the shadow of others and were made to believe they weren’t enough.
Thank you to Tember for this ARC of She’s a Catch. This was a fun but emotional read as we follow Courtney and Daniel’s love story. Courtney is grieving the end of a six-year relationship and processing the reality that she may never be able to have children, while Daniel is still carrying the loss of his godson and the guilt that comes with it. I really appreciated how the story handled both of their grief.
Even though this is an accidental Vegas marriage, the relationship develops naturally. Courtney doesn’t rush into anything, and I loved that she doesn’t let even Daniel pressure her into a relationship. Daniel is instantly drawn to her and pours into her, but Courtney is understandably skittish after leaving an emotionally and verbally abusive relationship. I found myself constantly questioning what she ever saw in Marcus, who remained a nuisance throughout the book with the audacity to keep popping up trying to get her back. Daniel definitely did not play that and was so swooon worthy throughout the book.
I also loved how therapy is intentionally woven into the story, with Daniel encouraging Courtney to seek help and even giving her therapist recommendations as she works through both her diagnosis and past trauma. This is a slow burn with open-door and spicy moments that don’t happen until a real emotional connection is established, which made it feel realistic to me.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. This was my first read by the author, and I’m excited to go back and read the other sisters’ stories.
You know the drill - what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. But what about when it includes a marriage certificate and a stranger? Find out in She’s A Catch!
After discovering she will never have children, Courtney arrives home to find her boyfriend cheating on her. Her sisters come to the rescue and steal her away for a trip to Vegas.
Despite her insistence there will be no men involved in her time away, her sisters convince her to complete a list of things she wouldn’t normally do - like kiss a stranger. Waking up married to said stranger was not on the list. Discovering she’s married Daniel Campbell, international cricketer, wasn’t there either.
This is the fourth book about a family of sisters all involved in professional sports in some way. Courtney’s sisters are loud and larger than life, supporting her in her times of need. I particularly loved how Caribbean culture and patois was integrated into the book in a way that celebrates both the characters’ and author’s heritage.
The thing I enjoyed the most about this book is that I actually know about (and watch/enjoy) the sport! It made reading those sections of the story so much more meaningful to me and I loved it.
Dealing with some heavy hitting issues, this book addresses grief and depression, infidelity, PCOS, and infertility. There are multiple conversations with therapists throughout the book.
The romance is slow burn and open door, but the book itself begins with Courtney catching her ex in the act. All up, it was a fabulous read that I would definitely recommend to fans of sports romances.
She's A Catch is the final Charles sisters book and it's emotional, sweet, and full of heart🥰🥰🥰

Courtney wakes up in Vegas married to international cricketer Daniel Campbell. She wakes up alone to a note about how they got married the night before 😲
What starts as a mistake quickly turns into something real when Daniel steps in to protect her during an awkward run in with her douche canoe ex!!!
Courtney’s journey is the most relatable and emotional of the series. Her struggles and strength make her easy to connect with. Daniel is the perfect match for her. He is honest, supportive, protective, and completely swoonworthy 🥵🔥🥵🔥
This story blends heavy emotions with humor, chemistry, and hope. It’s a beautiful ending to the series and I loved every minute of it! Tember thank you for writing this series!! I loved the journey you took us on with the Charles sisters 🥰🥰🥰🥰
I absolutely loved this book. From the beginning, I found myself hoping this wouldn’t turn into a trauma-bonded relationship and thankfully, it didn’t. As a therapist, I deeply appreciated how intentional the healing was. This wasn’t a story driven by lust or rushed attachment. It was layered, thoughtful, and rooted in growth.
What stood out most was watching her heal out loud. Not quietly or perfectly, but honestly. Seeing her find her voice, build confidence, and learn how to choose herself first felt so real. The book beautifully captured the struggle between what the heart already knows and how the mind shaped by trauma can distort truth and keep us stuck in fear.
And then there was him. Patient. Consistent. Strong. Big pressure in the best way. He didn’t try to save her or rush her healing, he simply showed up. He loved her in a way that reflected her worth back to her, reminded her she deserved all of it, and even encouraged her to go to therapy. That mattered. Because real love doesn’t avoid the work it supports it.
This story wasn’t just about romance; it was about reclaiming your voice, your boundaries, and your self-trust.
As someone who believes deeply in healing work, this story affirmed that the right love doesn’t distract you from yourself it leads you back home.
This book was pretty good, to be honest I didn’t love the beginning few chapters but I kept reading. The middle chunk was good, cute, fun, all the things. I love the relationship the sisters have, I love having people of color be the main characters in a romance, and the PCOS transparency. I could clearly see the love the MMC had for the FMC in every word and action that he did. That being said, I did find portions to be a little repetitive or at times a little boring. The book felt like it was longer than it needed to be, and their love story went by so fast from strangers to in a relationship to moving it together and it didn’t feel realistic (which is kinda the point in some books, I get it). It was a just a little hard to follow or believe, especially if the FMC was in a long term emotionally abusive relationship for 6 years, to turn around a week or two later is a little too far fetched I think.
All in all, it was a decent book, but not one of my favorites.
This is my favorite sports romance that I've read all year. I didn't want this book to end. Tember did such a phenomenal job with this story. She handled this story with care and intention. From the dedication to the last page, my attention was captured. Tember wrote this book for every girl who's experienced emotional and verbal abuse from a spouse and struggled with feeling worthy. I could relate to Courtney in so many ways. Seeing Courtney fight for her peace, joy, and confidence had me in tears. Her sisters were so loving and supportive. It was refreshing to read their camaraderie. Daniel was a class act. His care and attention for Courtney would easily melt anyone's heart. He was so patient and emotionally intelligent. I loved how he encouraged Courtney to seek the help she needed and how he didn't force himself on her. This story was enjoyable to watch unfold. This was a great read!
Courtney catches her fiancee in bed with another woman so her sisters take her to Vegas for healing. In true Vegas fashion she gets married to a stranger and a beautiful love story begins.
Courtney and Daniel both have a lot of trauma that they are working through in a very healthy way which was nice to see. I don’t normally love instalove and Daniel was definitely in instalove which always seems a little absurd to me but he was sweet and it was nice to see all of his thoughtful gestures. It’s always nice to see a portrayal of PCOS, it’s such a common illness in women but you never see it in romance books. The spice was great, definitely a slow burn but I was so into it I didn’t even notice! If you’re a cricket fan you’ll love this too, very authentic and honoring the sport. Can’t wait to go back and read the rest of the series!
ARC review Release date - December 7th I loved the dedication at the start of this book - "....You are, and have always been, more than enough." The fourth and final book in the She Can Play series. This was a cute, cozy, protective read. That one Marcus 😡😤 is a dog. I loved the dismantling of social constructs - the all women should bare children or the women must be the ones to cook - as well as the cultural inclusions of a Caribbean heritage. I loved reading about the strength of both Daniel and Courtney and the way they supported each other. Daniel helped Courtney to feel protected and cherished and Courtney helped Daniel to understand that even though you may lose someone, it is OK to still open your heart to love.

Omgosh this story amazing. Courtney and Daniel were the most awesome couple ever. Even though they started out as an oops, Daniel proved that he was so much more than an annulment waiting to happen. Courtney waking up to find out she’s married is wild. I think acting would go through the same emotions and motions that she did. And I fell for Daniel the second they got together to talk about the annulment. In walks Courtney’s ex and Daniel is the man. This book had me running through my emotions like no other. These two went through some hurt in their life. And I watching their walls come down. The trust, the growth, and the strength they built with one another. These two were truly meant to be together.
This story was really cute! The trash ex is hella trash but I love that level of characterization to make me root for the main characters even harder. Still, that first chapter is WILD. I wasn’t sure how well this would work as a standalone, but I was very pleasantly surprised I didn’t have any trouble following the references to previous books in the series. It’s an adorable romance with a generous splash of real life issues. Who doesn’t love an MMC who is immediately like “now wait, this situation could definitely work”? Anyway, I received this book directly from the author via her ARC team and this is my honest review. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5.
Courtney and Daniel have my whole heart. ❤️ I love any story where a Black Woman is being loved fully, on purpose, and out loud! Daniel knew he found the perfect 💎 gem at first glance and he never stopped showing her just how much he valued her.
Daniel loved her past her pain and loss and poured so much into her! I swooned at each page turn 🥰
There's some heavy topics on grief and healing that were done beautifully! *nods to the tune of therapy can change lives*
I need to go back and catch the other 2 books in the series, but I gotta say I loved this one!! And the fact that the characters were Caribbean was icing on the cake! 🇱🇨🇯🇲
Sports Vegas wedding Diverse romance Mental health rep Slow burn Found family
Daniel and Courtney
The was an emotional journey for our MFC. She Kors through things many can relate to. Daniel is protective and caring. He is a perfect book boyfriend. The author does a great job with combining the hard subjects with light moments. The characters are both people that you can identify with and cheer for.
ARC: If a walking green flag were a person, it would be Daniel Campbell. Courtney was recovering from several heartbreaking events when she met a stranger who became one of her biggest supporters. Daniel wasn’t just consistent, he was safe, steady, and sincere, the kind of love interest that reminds you what healthy love is supposed to look like. Daniel and his Sunshine :-)
The PCOS representation, the Caribbean representation as well as the mental health representation makes this book a great read. That little voice in her head was going to be Courtney’s downfall but she pushed through it and fought hard to be better and I’m proud of her. Courtney and Daniel’s story was too cute!
Ms. Tember, please come to the front!!! I did not realize this book was the part of a series when I agreed to received the ARC. Now that I’ve read this one, I’ve already purchased books 1-3 so I can catch up! The storyline is captivating and didn’t give anything away. I loved the descriptive dialogue, the character growth and the themes throughout. Read this book!!! And the 3 books before it!!!!
The last sister gets her HEA in the most unconventional way. They say what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas but then came Courtney, Daniel, and a f-it list. I love it i love it i love it.
Thank you Tember for the early copy. All opinions are my own

🏏Accidental Vegas wedding 💙Slooooow burn 🏏Cricket player x sports biochemist 💙Strangers to lovers
Shes A Catch is the 4th and final book in the She Can Play series and let me tell yall, e 👏🏾mo 👏🏾tion 👏🏾al 👏🏾 like Tember really wanted us to feel all the feels. Why do authors do this to us 🥲
So for this book our focus is on the 2nd born sister Courtney, and pro cricketer Daniel Campbell. Now their journey is a bit heavy with a lot of healing so for my besties who need content warnings I would suggest checking them out 🫶🏾
One of the things I enjoyed most about this book is the relatability to the characters. Even though I haven’t personally experienced some of the things our MC’s have, I couldn’t help but feel for them and put myself in their shoes. I was crying right along with them 😔
Because of the heavy themes and the focus on healing this book isn’t as spicy as the others in the series and honestly I liked that (I knooow can’t believe I’m saying this 😂) but it’s true. Adding spice just to add it wasn’t needed…who am I right now lol
If you’re in the mood for a book that will break you but then put you back together add She’s A Catch to your tbr
Now how do I get my hands on Courtney’s complete f*ck it list lol
