Own me. I already do, but if you need a reminder, kitten, I’ll give you one.
Forgive me. If you try to run, not even God will be able to save you from me.
You are mine. Soon, they’ll all see.
Or is it me you want to claim?
Jackie Cupid struck me with his arrow long before Valentine’s Day rolled around. Or maybe it was an arrow of insanity, infecting me with the same affliction Malik has. Either way, I am his. And for this holiday, I want him to be mine. Am I prepared to claim my freak? God help me.
Be Mine, Freak, the sequel to Own Me, Freak, delves back into Jackie and Malik’s dangerous obsession with each other around Valentine's Day. Love is in the air. Or is that possession?
As always, read your trigger warnings before jumping into any of the novellas in this series! And if any of them worry you, just don't read it.
With that out of the way, holyyyyyyyy shit! If you were waiting for Knight to go into Jackie's and Malik's minds respectively about the events of the last book and how their own relationship started, it happens here. It's just the tip of the iceberg actually. But Knight does it with such grace and respect, it's wonderful. Knight has them ask questions that I think as readers we've all been asking, and we just push aside because it's fiction (and thus, we've learned to suspend reality).
For example, Jackie recognizes that Malik raped her at the start of everything (he acknowledges that, too) so how can she now want him? Is it okay for her to consent now? As for Malik, in his acknowledgment of his actions, he questions how that makes him different from Gerard and what his grandfather did to him? It's 67 pages and it goes hard.
I think I read an Amazon review that this series is poorly done copycat fanfic. Cue my eyeroll. I think, instead, it asks a lot of questions for trauma survivors and maybe, just maybe, helps process that trauma.

The book starts off just a week or two after the second book ends, where Malik and Jackie are trying to figure out their relationship and future. This book is filled with almost all spice, but no complaints from me. The spice be spicing and the evolution of their relationship is changing. I love how they start to grow up in this book, since Jackie is graduating high school and Malik finally feels more secure in the relationship.
If you haven't guessed, Malik and Jackie's stories are surrounded by the holidays. I hope I get to spend another holiday with the two characters in the future to see how they keep growing as a couple. 🥰😍

Part 3 in the Jackie’s freak series and it just keeps getting better and better. This time we get to dive deeper into Malik and his reasons for why he is the way he is. There’s lots of smut but also enough room for interesting plot and some delicious revenge. Can’t wait what book 4 brings! I’m a fan!
Oh my goddess, I’m falling more and more in love with Mae K. Knight’s books. Honestly, I doubt she could ever disappoint me in any way.
Be Mine, Freak is the third book in the Jackie’s Freak series. If you haven’t already, I strongly recommend reading the previous books before diving into this one—it’s worth it.
The story revolves around the FMC Jackie and her psychotic stepbrother Malik. Without giving away too much, let me just say: it’s steamy, intense, and deliciously unhinged. Malik is the kind of MMC who doesn’t hesitate to remove anyone who gets a little too close to his girl—and honestly, that’s not a red flag for me at all 😉.
This fast-paced novel left me (yet again) craving more. I simply can’t get enough of Jackie and Malik’s story. In this installment, you get to witness their relationship evolve in the most gripping and, dare I say, beautiful way. Both main characters find a new and dynamic rhythm together that keeps you hooked from start to finish. Oh, and the spicy scenes? They’re rough, raw, and absolutely scorching.
Spice Rating: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5
Tropes:
Taboo, step-siblings Psychotic, stalking, obsessive, and possessive MMC A growing, stronger FMC Touch her and… (well, actually, breathe near her and…) Serial unaliver (finally!) Dual POV (first-person perspective)
We’ve had Halloween and Christmas, and now it's time for Valentine’s Day—Malik and Jackie style. Like any tumultuous relationship, theirs is evolving, but not without its fair share of intensity, chaos, and a touch of danger. Jackie is beginning to understand the inescapable reality of being Malik’s obsession—err, girl—and Malik? Well, he’s ensuring no one gets too close to what’s his. Once again, Mae delivers a smorgasbord of smut, proving she’s the queen of spicy scenes. And this time, it seems Jackie isn’t just tolerating Malik’s dark allure, she might actually be starting to embrace it. Dare I say, she’s leaning into his twisted worldview? Surprisingly, after witnessing Malik kill for the first time in the last book, it’s Malik she relies on to hold her together. “Jackie matches my darkness, and raises it. I don’t think either of us knows what her limits are.” That line gave me chills! So, the question is: just who is claiming who? I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
At this point I don't think it's possible for me to hate a Mae K. Knight book! Her novellas are fast-paced without feeling rushed and spicy to keep you thinking of the book long after you're done with it. I love seeing the evolution of Malik and Jackie's relationship especially now as they start to explore their kinks together. At this point I hope we cover every holiday so I can keep following their story. Heck it could be a random holiday like Labor Day and I will still be all over it to see what Knight has come up with this time!
Thank you to Mae K. Knight and Booksirens for the ARC!
Another great installment in the Jackie/Malik saga. Skims over the aftermath of the previous book in the series (Own Me, Freak), and while I'd like to have seen a little more of the explanation/fallout of that incident, I can understand that it's limited snapshots in their life which I'm absolutely here for!
This story dives into a Valentine's party, taking us back to the bathroom where their story started. I found it interesting how the author dealt with that initial meeting; I like that it was addressed as a point between them.
Look forward to the next holiday with this couple!
We're back with Maliek and Jackie, this time it's Valentine's Day! I love these bit-sized holiday-themed books.
This was a fast-paced, high-spice novella that was super hot and intense. Although it was short, it still had a lot to it. I liked seeing their relationship develop, and I'm excited to see them explore new kinks. I also enjoyed learning more about their past and am excited to see what happens next!

Oh my goodness is it me or do these keep getting better and better? Because they’re so short it’s like watching a tv series instead of one movie and I’m hoping this is like greys anatomy with 11 seasons because things are heating up ( not like the whole book isn’t demon worthy hot) but even though it’s short it actually has substance with the spice. Gosh I love this series and can’t wait to read the next one 🥹 me hoping for Malik’s healing on his trauma he’s my baby 😭
Now that Malik and Jackie have made it through the holidays and even more familial complications, Valentines is here and now that Jackie has accepted that she belongs to Malik, she is now questioning if Malik is hers. They’re growing quickly together and this installment shows them figuring out boundaries and how to make a relationship work since so many things have been brought to light.
Mae’s stories are amazing, but please always pay attention to her trigger warnings!!!
I honestly cannot stop reading this series. It was yet again another great story of Malik and Jackie. It is so spicy and hot. I absolutely love Malik and how dark he is. He would literally do anything for Jackie. They are taking next steps in their relationship and I can't wait to read more. I don't want to say much because it is short and I don't want to spoil it for anyone. It is a great read. Spice is a 5 and there is so much of it!
My obsession with Malik and Jackie only rivals Malik's obsession with Jackie! The way chapter 1 started let me know that I would finish this book in one sitting! When Malik said, "It wasn’t about when we’d get caught, but how he caught us.", I knew I was just as crazy as him by the butterflies in my stomach! I will never think about bathrooms, collars or primal play in the same way again. Iykyk
Be Mine Freak by Mae Knight is a dark romance novel and is book 3 in Jackie’s Freak series. This book is loaded with chemistry between the characters and the love they share. Jackie is growing up and graduating and Malik is feeling more confident in things. I have enjoyed watching these two and their love grow with them. Their story is refreshing and exciting.
we've had Halloween and then Christmas now buckle up for Valentines! Jackie and Malik story continues, in the aftermath of what happened at the lake, and valentines approaching will their relationshiptake another turn! fast paced, steamy quick read the taboo and dark themes!
In this part of the book, we get acceptance for what has happened and something more has blossomed. I'm obsessed with Malik's character, he is unapologetically unhinged! Also, where can I buy that v-day gift ;)
Mae definitely pulls you in and leaves you wanting more of Jackie and Malik. The fire between the two of them is so hot and when he refused to apologize but promised to do better 😮💨😮💨😮💨 I’m a sucker for red flags
Omg.. I didn't know there was gonna be a 4th book! Ugh, I would've waited. Now I've got to read the teaser and hope there will be a date for release! This ended on a cliffhanger but nothing that's urgent and needs an answer to. But I still want the ending!
I love this short story. This had spice. Love the taboo of step siblings. Can’t wait for them to live together and see what will happen next. This was hot.
Another good addition to the series. The expansion of the mcs relationship and the growing mutual obession is enjoyable to see over the books. Lots of spice and a bit of unhinged behavior.
Please please please check all CW and TW before continuing Jackie and Malik's story. This one is unhinged and just what I wanted and needed. You cannot help but get pulled into Malik's world. I could not put this one down either! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
