A friend lent me this book, as we both live in Western Colorado and are very familiar with the areas mentioned. I have to say that all the characters in this book are really crazy, not to mention destined to die of some form of cancer in their latter years. I was unaware that so many LDS Fundamentalists were involved in the Uranium boom and of how speculative the entire enterprise was. It was also enlightening to read how obsessed everyone was and of how they sacrificed so much to get back so little. The book gives an interesting history of the area, and it was funny to hike around the Yellow Cat area this past Spring and not realize what a history the area has. While I worried that this book would be a boring tome, it was mostly entertaining and quite educational, although probably not for everyone.
