He has a new life, but there’s one more person that he never stopped thinking about, Lucas Davis. Even with a new life and now turning eighteen, he’s still having the nightmares of what he endured.

He and his team have been tracking this ring for a long time and he’s hoping this is it. He’s under the direction of his boss: Sanchez who’s not to happy with Lucas at this point. But the team of special agents: Ezra Moses, Gemma Sutton, Tahir, and Evan Torres are ready as soon as they get the word. They have a local tip on the trafficking ring that have given Lucas a royal pain for three years. They’ve kept the intel on the operation quiet as there seems to be a leak on the inside. But unfortunately when the call comes, even with the quick action of Lucas and the team, it’s a fail. There’s nothing left for Lucas to do at this point, other than take the direction from ASAC Robert Edmunds to take time off.
In the meantime, Akio has returned home. Having a college break, he was visiting with: Diesel, Chris and his little sister Addie. Being back at the dorm, his friend Maggie comes to disturb his sleep. Lucas has a plan to take Akio to his dorm, pack a bag and stay at Lucas’s since he has two weeks off. Trying to keep the plan hushed, it starts to go bad when Ryder and Maggie, show up. They aren’t the only problem for Akio. His past will come back to haunt him and he will put his life on the line for all involved.
Ana Night creates a stand alone, spin off from “Diesel” the fifth book in the “Kings Disciple MC” series with “Fatal”. “Fatal” is a fast-paced, suspenseful, and dangerous tale that brings Lucas and Akio back together. The story is age-gap, steamy, with corruption and at times humorous. Besides his past, Akio also has worries about his brother, Diesel and Chris. There’s family drama and Lucas is part of it. Lucas’ feelings run high as he will do anything to protect and care for Akio. Akio will have to prove he has matured and face, not only family issues but his nightmares.
The author reveals enough information in “Fatal” that will entice readers to pick-up a copy of “Diesel” if they haven’t read it. It brings out the connection between Chris and Lucas and what was between them. Ana Night has been writing about the MC world for a long time now. She continues to make her novels exciting and suspenseful with interesting character and filled with steamy romances.
⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 3.5 Stars (Rounded Up to 4) Review for Fatal: A King’s Disciples MC Standalone by Ana Night
This was an enjoyable, steamy, fast-paced MM romance with strong emotional undercurrents, even if it didn’t completely hit 5-star territory for me. I loved the protective dynamic between Lucas and Akio, the dangerous underworld backdrop, and the simmering age-gap tension—but I did feel like I was missing some depth due to not having read the previous series first.
This technically works as a standalone, and the author does a solid job making key relationships clear, but there were moments where the emotional impact or character history felt thin—especially regarding Lucas’s connection to Akio’s family. Still, the chemistry, the trauma, the danger—it all pulled me in.
🧨 What Hit the Mark: Lucas is textbook "I shouldn’t want you, but I’d kill for you." And we love that.
Akio is vulnerable and scarred, but also flirty, bold, and so in need of someone who sees him as more than his past.
There’s real emotional weight behind the danger—they’re not just two hot guys on a motorcycle. They’re hurting, and they’re trying.
Spice level? Delicious. Consent is always present, even when the scenes get rough and intense.
“I want to be yours. Not a secret. Not a mistake. Just yours.”
“You’re not a mistake,” Lucas said. “You’re the only thing that makes sense.”
🧭 What Fell Just a Bit Short: Standalone status: This felt like a spin-off—and that’s okay! But I would have benefited from reading Akio’s brother’s story first. There were moments that lacked full emotional context.
Some plot threads wrap quickly. Given the high-stakes nature of the story (Yakuza pasts, FBI investigations, trafficking rings), I expected a little more tension or depth in the unraveling of those events.
While I liked the relationship, I wanted just a little more softness from Lucas on-page to balance his protectiveness with emotional vulnerability.
“You’re fire, Akio. And I’ve already burned for you once.”

💭 Final Thoughts: This had so much of what I love in dark, sexy romantic suspense: forbidden tension, complicated family ties, emotional scars, and protective behavior that toes the line of obsession. It’s spicy, action-packed, and emotionally satisfying. I only wish I’d read the earlier books first, as I think the emotional payoffs would’ve landed harder.
Still, if you like your MM romances with danger, motorcycles, found family, and intense sexual chemistry—this is an easy one to recommend. I'll definitely be checking out the rest of the series.

I really liked this book Akio has had the worst childhood ever. Treated like a dog by his own father kept in a crate. His father.Kaito is beyond evil. He is a criminal who runs human trafficking. Everything you can imagine this man would do. So thankfully his brother diesel who escaped with his mother when they were young came back for him and saved him. And offered him a family an upbringing of what a family should be like. Akio is now in college and enjoying life with his best friend Maggie. But when they go to a bar which is known as a bikers bar that evening the pub ends up being raided and he ends up arrested and the only person he feels he can call is Lucas. Lucas is an FBI agent who used to go out with diesels now Husband Chris And to make matters even worse. Akio has the biggest crush on him. Thankfully, Lucas comes and gets him out of the cop shop. But this is where things start to get a bit difficult because Lucas has had feelings for Akio since his last birthday and has stayed away but now that he needs his help he comes running. And it isn’t long until these two admit what they have for one another. And they are just perfect together but what would diesel and Chris think?? And this is where things start to get complicated because somebody wants either Lucas or Akio dead. I’ve got to say, I couldn’t put this book down. I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline and the attraction between Lucas and Akio. This book is at a fast pace there is danger around every corner. There is tension there is violence it has everything you could need. A really good book and I cannot wait to read more from this author.

Akio was tortured and held captive by his father, who was a Yakuza boss, that ran a human trafficking ring. His brother with the help of the FBI, rescues him and takes out their father. He starts a new life with help of his brother, Diesel and his husband, Chris. There is one man that makes him want so much more, Lucas, Chris's ex.
Lucas starts to feel the same way three years later when he sees him again. Nothing happens until he gets a call one night, Akio has been arrested. There is no way his is not coming to his rescue. He will make sure he is safe, while he figures out what that cop is up to.
Now that he is staying with him, there is no way Lucas will be able to resist him when he finds out he feels the same. Danger kicks up when it looks Akio's father's old crew might be up to bad things again. He will need to keep him safe when there is a leak at the FBI>.

'He could happily stay just like that forever, wrapped in Lucas. In the warmth of the man’s embrace. He knew. He knew it deep in his bones. Straight into his soul. He was in love with Lucas. Deeply. Terribly. In love.'
I loved this book. Great world building and wonderful characters. It was an exciting, fast-paced, high-stakes hurt/comfort romance. The story had suspense, danger, and action and I was completely hooked. I loved both Akio and Lucas. The chemistry between them was scorching. I liked their dynamic and the way their relationship developed. Lucas should stay away, not only for both their sakes, but because other lives were on the line and he needed to do his job. But failing to protect and take care of Akio when he needed him wasn't an option. I thought these two made such a great pair. I also liked the supporting characters. 5 stars
Dark, emotional, and brimming with danger, Fatal is a thrilling mix of outlaw grit and forbidden romance. Akio’s troubled past collides with Lucas’s rigid world of FBI rules, creating a love story that’s as risky as it is irresistible. The age gap, the push-pull of duty versus desire, and the constant undercurrent of danger make this a page-turner you won’t want to put down.
Ana Night delivers heat, heart, and high stakes in equal measure—a gripping ride for fans of romantic suspense and dangerous love.

ARC review. My first book from Ana Night and I really loved it. The content was captivating and I just wanted to devour it in one go. Akio is just the sweetest and Lucas is the perfect partner for him. When they met years ago Akio was very young and the circumstances wasn't the best. Now he's all grown up and their relationship changes to a romantic one. Together they have to navigate ghosts from the past, but with good supporter's on their side it's easier to fight through it.
This is a Good Book to Read!! Once you start to read it it is hard to put down. Akio and Lucas meet once years before when Lucas helped rescue Akio. Now Akio needs Lucas's help again. While they spend time together they grow closer. What will happen when Lucas goes after the trafficking ring ????? Will Lucas make it out alive????.

This book can be read as a standalone but I would recommend reading book five Diesel from the Kings Disciples Mc series to really get the best enjoyment from it, this book Fatal brings Akio and Lucas back together and we get an intense story filled with action, corruption, danger, angst and an age gap steamy romance which kept my interest from the start to the finish.
This was absolutely awesome! wow this story is absolutely incredable for some reason I completely missed this story and gosh was i glad i found it! I abslutely loved to read Akio and Lucas their story, great to see Chris and Diesel and I loved to meet Lucas his team :) Highly Recommended especially if you read these MC series from the author :)
Was waiting for this next installment. Lucas and Akio are brought together again. Lucas needs Akio in more ways than one. They are in an intense situation, and it is dangerous for them to be together. Kept me turning the pages! Slight age gap with a bit of a should not be together theme!
Another fantastic addition to King's Disciples, though it could be read as a standalone, why would you! This series is full of action, danger, intense moments and brilliant characters! 10/10 from me, I love Ana's writing style
I received a free arc copy and this is my honest review
This is the first time reading this author, and all I can say is it won't be my last. Matter of fact, I went to another of her series after I finished this one. The way Ana Night wrote the connection between these two was beautiful and hot. Akio was tortured for years by his father, who was a Yakuza boss. The pain his father, who is supposed to love him, puts him through almost breaks Akio. Then the day comes that he meets the brother he didn't even know he had, who rescues him from his father by ending his Father. His life begins with the help of Diesel and his husband, Chris. When all this is being done, he meets a man who makes his heart race. Lucus will never be his, or will he be?
Lucas remembers the day he saw Akio for the first time. The pain he saw in his eyes made him want to bring his father back to life and kill him himself. Witch that is a strong thing to say since he worked for the FBI. All Lucas knows is that he isn't sorry for helping Diesel rescue his brother. Lucas knows he needs to stay away; Akio has been through so much and needs to heal. But the day comes when Lucus finds out that Akio is in danger again and steps in to protect Akio. Can he keep him safe and also keep his heart in tack?
I loved this story. I hadn't read this author before this book. She is now on my list of authors to read from now on.
The continuing story of Akio and Lucas has arrived. The two met in the most unfortunate of circumstances but have maintained some degree of contact through Akio’ brother in law. When Akio is arrested he reaches out to Lucas for help. The two are thrown together while Lucas investigates the arrest and old sparks catch flames. The two embark on a deeper relationship. When Lucas must try to take down a heinous trafficking ring Akio has the knowledge to be of help. The two are pulled into the evil underbelly of society and neither may survive. Both must face their biggest fears to bring down the criminals. It takes an FBI task force and some brave motorcycle club members to save the day. This one has action galore but there’s plenty of steam and romance in keeping with the genre.
