Mafia Bound #3

Unhinged Little Angel

Rate this book
Forcing Salvatore Moretti to marry me at gunpoint isn’t the craziest thing I've ever done...
I hate being desperate, being scared. It's a filthy, helpless feeling. I'd much rather be enraged, violent… unhinged.

Salvatore watches me dance and calls me Angioletto, his little angel. He doesn't know the demons that haunt me. He's too blinded by my beauty to see the blood on my hands. Then again, he's a mafia capo, so maybe the blood wouldn't bother him anyway.

My past is like fire licking at my heels, ready to consume me. But Sal won't let that happen, he’ll protect me. He has to.

I learned a long time ago not to trust anyone but myself. It's dangerous the way he manages to unravel all of my defenses and turn me from a guarded Dom into the submissive brat I've never felt safe enough to be. It's terrifying the way I'm starting to crave him.

I wasn't sure I would live long enough to worry about this marriage starting to feel real, but this well-dressed mafioso might just manage to save my life after all. We can argue about divorce once the threat is neutralized I suppose. And in the meantime, he is my husband, I might as well enjoy the perks…

This was a whole new take on fake marriage and I loved how crazy it was!

I'll be totally honest, Luca completely stole the show for me and I cannot wait to get his book 😂 He's so cute, I just wanted to squish his cheeks - on his face just to clarify 😂😂

Dante accepting his Brat identity was so fun to read, and Sal ... I don't even know what to say but I loved his dominant energy so much! He was so thoughtful too, definitely had me all heart-eyed.

I'm also so incredibly ready for Enzo and Declan to get together. They have to because I'm dying to see Declan with his Kitten 😍

Tropes: dancer/mafia, forced marriage, forced proximity, hurt/comfort
Feels: 3/5
Steam*: 2/5
Kinks: dominance, brat
Angst: low
HEA: yes
Pairing: MM
Triggers/potential icks/content warnings: homophobia, CSA of minor character in past, violence, murder, sexual harassment
Cheating between MCs: No
Any cheating: No
Other person drama: Salvatore liked Dante for a while before they got together. So they were probably with other people while they knew each other, but it was before they had any meaningful interactions together it was before the book started. During the course of the book, neither are with anyone else. I love how in love with Dante Salvatore was.

4 stars

Dante is a stripper with classical dancing training. He is no one to trifle with. He had a rough past, he's had to defend himself. He can take care of himself. He loves to play with fashion and dabbles a bit in feminization. He is bisexual and likes to dominate his partners. But he also is a brat and wants to be mastered by someone deserving, wants to submit to someone who deserves him. His cousin was CSA'd by his father (Dante's uncle Don) for years and Dante got Don put in jail. Don is about to get out and he's threatened to come after Dante. Dante decides to kidnap Salvatore Moretti, a much feared Mafia man who is obsessed with Dante, and force him to marry him. Dante thinks if he's married to a Moretti, people will be too afraid to touch him.

Salvatore is secretly delighted with this turn of events. The object of his affection wants to marry him? This is his opportunity! But he won't let Dante make this transactional, he's going to make Dante submit to him, and commit to a real relationship. And he's definitely going to protect Dante from anyone who dares to hurt him.

This was a delightful book. I liked how strong Dante was, he was a fierce feral kitten who could defend himself. He was smart. And he had a sense of humor. He was a very likable MMC. I loved how Salvatore was so gone for Dante, he was happy to go along for this ride and use it to his advantage to get the man of his dreams. Salvatore was protective and he had a moral code. I like the side characters, I'm so interested in them that I'm probably going to read the entire series. I'm especially hoping for a book between Lorenzo and Declan, the leaders of rival Mafia families. The relationship between Dante and Luca his eager puppy bodyguard was hilarious. And I love seeing Antonio get his just desserts. This was a very satisfying read.

Some notable moments:

"I chuckle. “What am I going to do with you, Angioletto?” “Marry me to save my ass and probably live to regret it thanks to my shitty attitude and inability to play nice with anyone?” I hum, my lips twitching with another grin. “At least it’s a nice ass.” “Fuck you. Pour me some coffee.”"

It's hilarious that everyone knew how obsessed Salvatore was, and they all assumed it was Sal who forced Dante into marriage. "“I’m in Los Vespar with Dante. We got married.” Lorenzo is absolutely silent on the other side of the line for several long seconds. “I thought Alessio was being a smartass,” he admits with a sigh that’s the equivalent of an emotional outburst for him. He’s quiet for another minute and then he clears his throat. “Was it… Dante wanted this, right?”"

I love Dante's relationship with Luca. "Is Luca back today? If he is, I’m about to grill his ass about what the fuck Antonio’s problem is. Assuming Antonio isn’t dead in the guest bathroom, of course. Again though, getting out of bed to harass Luca sounds like a lot of fucking work right now. If I shout for Luca, will he scurry in here with some coffee for me like the sweet barista puppy that he is? Only one way to find out. “Luca!”"

*FYI about steam: I rate steam based on a combination of quality & quantity. I note kink separate from steam because I don't want to underrate steamy reads that don't have much kink.

**Note about spoilers: I like to comment on the plot of a book in reviews, so I almost always mark my reviews as containing spoilers. But I try to avoid spoiling the big dramatic moments! As a reader, I personally like to know what I'm getting into before I read a book so I know more about the content and if it's to my taste/mood, so I try to give that information in my reviews for myself when I'm considering rereading and also for other readers.

Just loving km darker side

Dante, a stripper who works for one of the Moretti family's establishments, has caught the eye of Salvatore for as long as he can remember. But the feisty man has dark secrets of his own that he fears will make them never truly trust him. When things get desperate, Dante takes the situation in his own hands to become deeper in the Moretti organization. These two have a chemistry that is undeniable and fighty all at once. They would burn the world down for each other and fight each other how to do it in the same step. This series is a unique step away from KM Neuhold usual magic, and yet you still feel her voice in the writing. A beautiful balance of heat and humor with dark undercurrent.

Unhinged Little Angel had amazing banter, great steam & a sassy stripper who would do pretty much anything to deny his craving to submit.

I was instantly drawn in by the dynamic between Sal and Dante, they had a ton of chemistry and I loved how Sal took all of Dante's schemes with a kind of amusement and just ran with them. Dante might have thought that he had the power, but he was mostly fooling himself, and it wasn't long before Sal had him naked and begging.

Sal totally understood Dante and he was so good at reading him, knowing when to push and when to back off. I loved how protective he was of him, and how he slowly managed to gain Dante's trust. The banter and sass kept things entertaining, and the tension between them lingering from the previous stories definitely reached its peak in this one. Add in some secrets and suspense from Dante's past, and it became almost impossible to put down.

I had a great time with this one - ever since the start of this series I've loved Dante and Sal's banter and chemistry, and their story gave me exactly everything I could have wanted! I really enjoy what K.M. Neuhold's is doing with this series, and I'll keep my finger's crossed for Lorenzo and Declan's story!

I received an advanced copy of this book, and these are my honest thoughts and opinions.

A Joyfully Jay review.

4.25 stars

Unhinged Little Angel is the third book in K.M. Neuhold’s Mafia Bound series, a set of dark romances set in the world of the Moretti crime family. Both Salvatore and Dante have appeared in prior books, and some of the Moretti family appear here as side characters, so those familiar with the series will probably get the most enjoyment out of the story. But this should work as a standalone, as the relationship is new to the series and the key information is provided here. I have been intrigued by this couple and Neuhold has teased them over the past books, so I was excited to get their story.

If you have been enjoying this series, I think you will find a lot to like in this latest installment. And if you like your romance with a darker edge, this series is really entertaining and worth the read.

4.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

I am loving the darker side of K.M. Neuhold, where the men are still filthy af—but now they’re doing it while unaliving for each other. Peak romance, honestly.

“Dante may not know it yet, but he’s mine, and I protect what’s mine. Always.”

After the first two books, I’ve been dying to see how these two would finally come together. We’ve got Salvatore, a member of the Moretti family who’s just slightly (read: completely) obsessed with Dante—a sassy, unhinged stripper/dancer haunted by his past.

And when that past comes knocking? Dante does the most unhinged thing imaginable: he kidnaps Salvatore and forces him to marry him. You heard me. Marriage of convenience, baby. One of my absolute fav tropes. And Salvatore? He’s been feral for this man from the beginning, so when Dante hits him with “surprise marriage”, he’s like “bet” and makes it disgustingly perfect.

This is hands down my favorite in the series so far. These two delivered. The slow burn. The heat. The payoff. Chef’s freaking kiss. But what hit hardest was the build-up—the way Salvatore gave Dante time, space, and genuine care, showing him that not everyone wants to hurt him. That he deserves good things.

And that? Ugh, that’s the stuff.

I LOVED this one. UNHINGED LITTLE ANGEL was an awesome story that had me feeling all the feels.

Dante is a stripper/dancer and has had a flirt/sass/hurt vibe thing with Salvatore, one of the capos of the Moretti family for a while now.

I was jonesing for Salvatore and Dante's story all throughout the first two books, and they ABSOLUTELY delivered. The chemistry? Off the charts. The sexual tension? Bangin'. The spicy scenes? 10/10.

Not to give too much of the story away: but Dante needs help, and instead of asking, he drugs and kidnaps Salvatore and concocts this hilarious fake marriage thing. Which is totally on brand for Dante level chaos. Salvatore, who has been enamored by Dante since day one, just rolls with it and makes everything perfect.

So many times, I was laughing out loud. So many times, I was shocked by the turn of the story. I found these two to be engaging AND entertaining. I was so sad when the book was over.

I think I can safely say this is my favorite of the series so far. UNHINGED LITTLE ANGEL is out now!

This series just keeps getting better and better…

The way I can’t wait for Declan and his Kitten (the big bad mafia leader). The tension between them is just🥵

Salvatore was perfection. The kidest mafia man to exist. I just love how Dante thought he has to force Sal to marry him. Whereas Sal was getting everything he ever wanted. He must have been giggling and kicking his feet! I just loved his brand of protection and the way he saw through Dante’s façade!

And Dante? Unhinged little psycho. I love him. He’s like a feisty cat and he definitely will scratch you…

The plot had me so intrigued in this one. I adore that we get to see more and more of who the Firtzpatricks are throughout the series and how at the end, they’ll just be better off working together instead of being stuck in this “we’re going to war” foreplay!

The push and pull between Dante and Sal was great. Sal was infinitely patient, and I loved that about him. No matter how Dante tried to push him away or play things cool, Sal was right there to be his rock. It was no surprise when Dante's walls fell and Sal swooped him off his feet into a real relationship.

I really wanna read about Enzo and Declan! Even from their few scenes throughout the series, I am desperate to see how that plays out.

I have been anxiously awaiting Sal and Dante's book, and boy, it was worth the wait!!!  Dante is such a bratty spitfire, and I loved every minute of it. Sal has been in love with Dante for a while, which we see in previous books, but whew, these two finally together good lawdy. Sexy, sweet, and a little danger was a quick read, and I really enjoyed it.

My favourite book in the series so far!! This book follows Salvatore, a high-up mafia man in the Moretti family, and Dante, a dancer who works for the club that the Morettis own and operate out of. Dante has a dark past and a problem he needs taken care of. What better way to protect himself than to get hitched to Salvatore Moretti, who is more than happy to go along with his schemes.

The plot and use of tropes in this book was great, as it put a whole new twist on the “married in Vegas” romance trope. It also did a great job of revealing the plot slowly, to keep readers more on-edge. It’s not super complex, but it’s there. There’s some solid character development with Dante as well!

You’re going to get:
-unhinged characters
-obsessed dominant mafia leader with a weak spot for a fancy, hand-made suit
-getting revenge on evil people (this series is full of that)
-one character falling for the other first (this is also a reoccurring plot point that books in the series follow)
-dominant MC / bratty MC (very 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️)
-great support from side characters

I know their book isn’t out yet, but this book also got me soooo excited for Lorenzo’s book. I just know it’s gonna be amazing.

This series continues to hold strong, and dare I say her better as you read it! I’m starting to get attached to the characters. 🥰

Oh yes yes yes!

I already knew that I loved this series but Sal and Dante took it to a whole new level. If you're looking for a book that blends intense chemistry and an unforgettable journey of trust, this MM mafia romance has it all. The author really knows how to craft worlds that pull you in and characters who feel so real you can’t help but root for them.

Sal and Dante are an amazing duo, with their relationship building at a pace that’s both steamy and emotional. What I loved most was watching Sal’s incredible understanding of what Dante needed and how much to push. Their chemistry is off the charts, but it’s the way they truly see each other, flaws and all, that makes their connection so deep.

KM has a gift for creating imperfect men who love hard. It’s not just the action-packed mafia world that grips you, but the rawness of the characters, especially their growth and how they come together. The way Sal supports Dante through his emotional walls, and the way Dante slowly lets him in, is written so well it’s almost like you can feel the shift as Dante lets go.

If you love a romance where trust, patience, and irresistible chemistry shine through, this book is a must-read. The author has truly outdone themselves with this one!

there's something about the whole protective vibes of a mafia romance book that just makes the quality of the romance so much better.

Dante and Sal were romantic in the whole "i would literally k!ll for you" kind of way and truly sometimes thats all you need.

the reason Dante needed protection from was sort of anticlimactic for me, i think it showed what kind of person Dante is and I feel like that was, like, good at further confirming who he is as a person and how he has his own way of protecting those he cares about but i was sort of just expecting more? idk. it wasn't bad or anything but not what i was expecting.

so very curious about declan and lorenzo tho like.......need their book asap.

"Maybe one of these nights I’ll find a way to bleed him out of my veins, but not tonight."

This is book 3 in the series Mafia Bound by KM Neuhold. I remember when book 1 came out, I was worried that I wouldn't like the mafia storyline, normally they're just not my thing... I can truthfully say that I've enjoyed each book as they've been released.

"Dante may not know it yet, but he’s mine, and I protect what’s mine. Always."

I'm so happy we got Dante and Salvatore's story this time, I've been wondering about Dante's background and I can truthfully say my imagination is nowhere close to Kyleen's, I love her dark side. The tension between these two has been brewing since the beginning and something was bound to happen.

Whatever you do don't start with this book, you need to start with book one and read each one in the order they were released. If you don't you'll be missing out.

Seeing the glimpses of Dante and Salvatore in the first two books always made me wonder how they would end up together, but the marriage of convenience trope was unexpected. However, knowing Dante’s backstory and the depth of Salvatore’s protective streak, nothing else makes sense.
Dante wears his anger and aggression like armor, and seeing Salvatore strip that away was so sweet. And Salvatore is there to fight for Dante every step of the way.
Also, Salvatore wearing corsets under his suits? Yes, please!
Thank you, KM Neuhold, for the ARC!

Third installment of this series, which should be read in order to get the most enjoyment. Also, you won't appreciate the characters without reading their stories.
Well-written, and enjoyable, even with the darker themes. Salvatore is sweet under his mafioso exterior. Dante is...Dante. I wish there had been a little more spice, honestly. And occasionally the plot seemed to drag a bit. I almost wanted the explanation of Dante's motives to come much earlier in the book than it did. But still an overall great book.

I'm drooling over Salvatore and Dante! The fire, the longing, the patience and the trust, and of course, the epic love between them!

I love Sal and Dante. This series is fabulous and this book lived up to the hype. I love a good Mob romance and Kyleen has done a great job with the Morettis. I love the dark and deranged vibes in this book. Sal, who has lusted after Dante for a while is surprised to find himself drugged and held at gunpoint by his little angel. This book has its sweet moments but it's also funny and sexy too. These two men were made for each other and I'm so glad they get a hea. I can't wait for more Moretti family drama.

This series just gets better and better! I literally can not wait for the next one, it happens every time I finish a book in the Mafia Bound series, I always NEED the next book ASAP😩 Of course I absolutely loved the characters, no surprise there since K.M. Neuhold never fails to make me fall in love with her MMCs💕 I was soo hoping that Salvatore would be at least a little bit sassy as in the previous books his style is described and the suits he wore🤌 And I was not disappointed! That man is such a diva and I love it🤣 And the banter between him and Dante was just perfect, they were both as sarcastic and sassy as each other, absolute perfection 😌 AND the possessiveness and protectiveness???? DAMN Another 5⭐️ book in this series😍

I loved the plot itself as well, there was a lot of mystery surrounding Dante and why he had to ask Salvatore for help and I really enjoyed the fact that Salvatore didn’t know what those reasons were and that he didn’t find out using other methods, he just patiently waited for Dante to tell him, he didn’t have much of a choice but still🤣 What I also loved is seeing the other couples and how they interact throughout the book, and seeing other potential couples as well, Declan and Lorenzo need their own book because that tension!!!!

I loved Dante’s character, I loved his confidence, how he acted around all of the men, he showed no fear and knew how to stick up for himself which I loved seeing, especially when he put some of them in their place as he should 😮‍💨 I really enjoyed seeing him be around the rest of the characters because he genuinely gave 0 fucks about what they did as a job, he did not change his tone or behaviour, that man was not about to bow down to nobody and I loved that💕 As sassy and sarcastic he was, there was still a lot of ‘softness’ within his character too, it was obvious he cared deeply about the people he was closest too, that was evident when it was revealed why he needed Salvatore’s help. The way he never actually hurt Salvatore during his plan but instead threatened him into buying an ugly shirt, which was hilarious, it made me realise that he wasn’t truly violent, he just needed to be to protect himself🥺 It was also good to see Dante finally be taken care of the way he deserves, seeing him let go at times and letting someone else take control, in no way did those moments change Dante or make him less “fiery, violent, and unhinged” - word of Salvatore, it just meant that Dante could take a much needed break, after all he’s been through he deserved those moments of peace❤️ And probably my most favourite thing about Dante was his sarcasm because it made the banter between him and Salvatore so much better, his witty comebacks never failed to make me laugh😆

Salvatore, the man you are! I loved him in the other books and well this book made me absolutely obsessed with him🤤 Chapter 2, which was Salvatore’s 1st POV chapter in the book we already find out about his obsession, that man had eyes for no one else but his Angioletto, so it came to absolutely NO surprise how well he took the deal that Dante wanted, he actually said “seal it with a kiss” yeah the man was OBSESSED 🤩 Also I swear every time Salvatore spoke it was with some form of sass, even when he didn’t mean it, I mean the fact that he was more worried about the state of his suit than anything else was such a diva moment. Best moment that shows how much of a diva he is was when Dante threatened him to buy an ugly shirt and his response was “You’re saying that my options are to either wear this shirt or be shot? …… Okay, you can shoot me” 😭 That man isn’t getting seen in no cheap T-shirt. Salvatore wasn’t just obsessed with Dante but he was also very protective of him, I mean this is what he thinks “Protective rage swells inside me. If anyone hurt him, it’ll be the last fucking thing they do. Dante may not know it yet, but he’s mine, and I protect what’s mine. Always.” OH AND “Tell me who hurt you, Angioletto, and the last thing he’ll ever feel is the cold metal of my gun barrel gagging him as he tries to choke out his last words” 😮‍💨 Salvatore also had a gentler side to him that cared very deeply, shown in the way that he never tried to push Dante to talk about his past or give reasons to the way he had to act, even when Dante began talking, he showed so much patience and care, also comforted him as much as he could, made Dante’s rage his own, I loved seeing the gentle side of Salvatore when we usually saw the sassy side that constantly bickered with Dante🤭 Can’t forget to mention the mouth on that man! HOT not that I expected any less🙃

So basically, they were literally perfect for each other and I cannot wait for the next books!

Here's "Unhinged Little Angel" by K.M. Neudhol. It's the the second novel in her Mafia Bound series.

["Forcing Salvatore Moretti to marry me at gunpoint isn’t the craziest thing I've ever done...

And in the meantime, he is my husband, I might as well enjoy the perks…"]

Another book we've been waiting for forever! AHH! I'm utterly fucking obsessed with this series and these couples! I love dark romances, and when KM said she was branching out a bit, I knew we were in for a treat.

Holy. Shit. These two! Salvatore was in love with Dante from the first moment he met him, from the way he light up while dancing to the rage in his eyes (who said that mafiosos weren't romantic), but he wouldn't rush things (he waiting oh so patiently for his little angel to come to him). Dante probably could have also loved Salvatore at first sight, if he wasn't so busy fighting his own demons and protecting himself from everyone; but when things go worse for him, when the demons from his past came charging back, he knew he couldn't turn to Salvatore (and deep down, he knew it wasn't just because Sal is a Moretti).

Dante tried sooo hard to stay strong and keep his walls up and protect himself (from falling for Sal), but their love was inevitable. Their chemistry was undeniable, so when they got married and let the sparks fly, it was a matter of time before HEA took over.

Quote of the Day (Salatore): "But that's the beauty of marrying a monster. He can rest, and I can scar all of his other nightmares away."

Quote of the Day (Dante): "He'll fight any monsters I need him to, and he'll love all of the beautiful, terrifying dark parts of me for the rest of our lives."

Trigger Warnings: violence and murder (of bad guys), drugging, kidnapping, pedophiles, and more.
