Glimmer & Gleam Duet #2

Gathered Sparkle

Rate this book
Vegas is a city of illusions, and I’m losing track of my own.

The hand I thought I was dealt?
It’s flipped.

The tricks I thought I mastered?
They’re slipping through my fingers.

And betrayal cuts deeper than any sleight of hand.

We’re still chasing a ghost of a chance. The woman we need to take down is still untouchable—her power absolute.
And the evidence we need? It slipped away with the trust I shattered.

But the game isn’t over. The cards are still in play.
And as the lines blur between friend and enemy, truth and illusion, the deck keeps shifting.

Secrets unravel. Alliances fracture.
The game I thought I was playing? It’s changing right before my eyes.

Trust is a risk. Love is a gamble.
But when the final hand is played, will I win it all?
Or will I lose everything I’ve fought to keep?

Gathered Sparkle is a medium burn, instant spark, spicy, hurt/comfort, MFMMM why choose romance. It’s the second book in the Glimmer & Gleam Duet and can't be read as a standalone.

Magic is the People 🥰
Sooo much happens in this book, you’re hooked from the beginning to end!
There are some shocking revelations for Nova - some that really make your heart break for her, but honestly it’s so worth the pain of reading it 😍
This book definitely sees the relationship building between Nova and her men; as well as the men themselves - there’s a lot of forgiveness and redemption to their tale making an emotional read…. Which is nicely balanced with the heightening of the spice level in the scenes in this half of the duet 🌶️
The revenge storyline picks up and the final show certainly has a flair for the dramatic in it 😅 but it’s everyone coming together to enact this plan you really see them all coming together as a unit 🥰 although there’s some risks you know there’s an HEA coming for them and that epilogue is just 👌👌

🎶 Give a little time to me or burn this out. We'll play hide and seek to turn this around. All I want is the taste that your lips allow 🎶

In a city built on illusion, trust is the ultimate magic trick - and it’s slipping through their fingers. The game was never simple, but now the rules have changed. What once felt like control has turned into chaos, and every move comes with a price. The evidence they need to take down a powerful enemy is gone, lost in the fallout of a broken alliance. And the woman at the center of it all? Still untouchable.

There’s no other way to describe this book besides magical 🪄✨💖. I wish the author could feel the way my heart raced throughout the entire book and how animated I was while reading, because this was truly one of the best books I have ever read. No other review or opinion will change my mind—this was a complete masterpiece. I don’t know if it was the way everyone cared so deeply for each other, the passionate found family, or how every single character loved with their whole heart. Maybe it was the way all of that was blended so seamlessly with the magical elements. But whatever it was, it created an unforgettable and truly special reading experience. I felt like I was part of the story. I will genuinely think about this duet for a long, long time. I already want to reread it. It was so special, and I loved every second of it 💌🪄❣️🤍. There wasn’t a single moment where I felt bored. I read it so fast, and at the same time tried to slow myself down because I didn’t want it to end. I loved these characters so much. I’m completely obsessed with them, and I can’t stop thinking about them. I’m writing this immediately after finishing because I want to capture how raw and present my emotions are. I truly care so deeply for these characters. 💗💘💕💖💗

[Ace]

“Ace—”

“You… you’re supposed to be dead,” he repeats as he stumbles backward. “I was in jail because I killed you. You can’t be real. You’re not real.”

I was literally thrown for a loop. Keep in mind, it was probably predictable, but I never connected the dots. When Alaric mentioned that he had killed his girlfriend, and Nova said she had killed her boyfriend, I never once believed that he was Ace. If anything, I thought the shared trauma would bring them closer and make their bond something uniquely special. But when that realization hit—that she recognized his voice, and that he had been alive this entire time—I was stunned. She warned him, and somehow, she got her wish of having him back. She never stopped loving him. The patience she had for him, the way they both went to therapy and worked through their pain to find their way back to each other—it was everything. She respected his boundaries. He pushed a little harder to meet her halfway. And the result was something unlike anything else. 🥹💖💓💕💗 It didn’t matter that they were only together for six months as teenagers. What they have now is so much stronger. She was always in love with him, and their connection never erased what she shares with the others. She loves them all equally, but Ace will always have a special place in her heart that no one else can touch. Their bond means the world to me. 💗💓💓💕💖 I was in complete awe. I love how they challenge each other, how they push just enough, but always lead with care, warmth, and deep respect. Their history, their love, their pain—it is all wrapped up in something so profound that nothing could ever come between them. They are inseparable. HER ACE.

[Sylus]

“Shh, Sparkle.” He pulls me against his chest, his arms wrapping around me, holding me tightly. “I’ve got you. You’re okay.”

He was the first person who truly pushed her boundaries and wanted to get to know her🥹😭😭💗💓💘💗. He understood that she was scared of letting people in, and he still pushed a little harder—just enough to get through her walls. He kept showing up for her, and I think that’s what mattered most. She had been abandoned by so many people. Every time she loved someone, she lost them. Letting people in terrified her, and he recognized that. But he still showed up. Again and again. Because he knew that’s what she needed most—consistency, presence, and someone who wouldn’t walk away. That’s what makes it so special. Sure, he brought the charm, and yes, he definitely brought the jealousy when Nico got pulled into the group. But deep down, all he ever wanted was for her to be okay. Her happiness was his priority, and he never cared about sharing as long as she was safe and loved. I absolutely adore the sunshine energy he brings 🥹💗. Silas has this warm, charismatic presence that is so him—no one else could pull it off. He lights up the page with every scene, and the way he balances fun and intensity is perfect. He’s soft but protective, easygoing but loyal, lighthearted but deeply committed. She loved him too. You can feel it in every moment they shared. They were each other’s person. And yes, he technically married her first in that chaotic Vegas automated chapel—but that was so them. It was wild and unexpected and imperfectly perfect, just like their bond. They are fun, they are passionate, they care so deeply, and I love everything about them. I’m fully obsessed.

[Koen]

“Everyone around me dies.” There’s a rawness in his voice that makes my heart ache. “I’ve made keeping Levi safe my top priority since we were fifteen… then the others. And now… now you’re so high on that list it terrifies me.”

He’s such a protector 💕💝💓💘👏🪄. He’s one of those people who’s incredibly guarded, and the people he trusts most are his family. But as soon as she became one of his people, that was it. That was all he needed. He didn’t care about having to share her—as long as he had a piece of her, that was enough. And she was so respectful of him and his boundaries, especially because she understood that he was different. He was someone who only connected physically when there was deep love and care involved. She saw that, and she honored it. She never pushed or initiated anything until he let his guard down. And when he did, he was so gentle with her. Sometimes that gentleness wasn’t exactly what she needed, but when he hypnotized her and got the truth out of her—it worked for them. The hypnosis, the vulnerability, the way she let her walls down for him—that’s what captivated me. She had never had the space to do that before. She was always scared. But with him, she could finally be her soft, vulnerable self, and he never judged her for it. He respected her completely. What they shared was a deep mutual understanding and so much warm, gentle love. My heart was pounding with joy reading their scenes. Everything about them is so special to me. You can clearly tell that he was someone who always put himself first, out of survival and self-preservation. But she didn’t want that. She didn’t care about being claimed or prioritized above all—she just wanted all of them to be safe. And she loved him. And that love? It was everything to me. 💌❣️🪄❤️

[Nico]

“Girl,” Annabelle’s arm brushes mine as she murmurs in my ear. “What did you do to that guy?”

“Because…” she says conspiratorially. “Whenever you’re not looking, he stares at you like a kicked puppy. He literally gave you his last shirt and doesn’t even want it back, even though he’s sitting there in all his glorious nakedness.”

I love Nico, and I was so hurt when he felt betrayed by what they did. Honestly, it’s completely understandable. This entire time, he was forming a real connection with Nova. He fell hard for her, and then to find out it was all part of the plot—it stung. But that doesn’t take away from the fact that Nova genuinely loved and cared for him. She fell for him. She had a crush she didn’t know what to do with, especially because he was supposed to be the enemy. But she saw him for who he really was. She saw behind the mask, behind the polished persona he put on for the world because that’s what his mother expected. Nova saw him. And I’m so glad she was patient with him. I’m also glad Silas pushed Nico a little harder—because Nico needed that nudge. He was prideful, he was hurt, and he probably would have stayed in his head forever if someone didn’t challenge him to go after what he wanted. Even through all the betrayal and pain, Nico never stopped caring for Nova. That’s what makes him so precious. He was down bad from the start—completely gone for her—and would have done anything to keep her. That’s why it hurt him so much. It wasn’t just about trust, it was about loving someone so much that even after the betrayal, he still couldn’t stop feeling it. This boy was pathetically, beautifully, magically in love. Whimpering, obsessed, golden retriever energy to the max 💕💘💞💗🩷🤍. And what’s even more amazing is that he was willing to share her—because he would rather have a part of her than none at all. For the first time, someone truly saw him. And he saw her too. They worked. They just worked. She didn’t judge him. She gave him what he needed, and he did the same for her. They complemented each other so perfectly. I love Nico. There’s not much else to say. He’s everything.

— ⋆。゚☁︎。⋆。 ゚☾ ゚。⋆ OVERALL⋆。゚☁︎。⋆。 ゚☾ ゚。⋆—

I’m probably going to reread this series over and over again 🥹💗💘💕💞🩷👏👏👏. I need the physical copies immediately, because having it on my Kindle is just not enough. I don’t even know how to convince anyone else to read this, but I know this is the most magical book I’ve experienced all year. Five stars, no question. I can’t even explain exactly what it was—this book just pulled me right out of the slump. The magic, the characters, the emotional pull... everything about it was stunning. I keep ranting because when I look back on this review, I want to remember exactly how it made me feel. I listened to music that matched the mood of each scene, and it elevated the experience into something miraculous. I felt every moment. Nova is such a remarkable, free-spirited character. She’s so special. I saw how others looked at her, how they loved her, and I’m so proud of her for finally recognizing her own worth. That growth was beautiful to witness. I love love love love this book. And nothing, absolutely nothing, will change my mind. It’s five stars, that’s it. I can literally draw a line between who I was before reading this book and who I am after. It made me better. It made me feel. It blew my mind in every way. I love magic, and maybe that’s why it hit so hard—but whatever it was, it worked. I’m obsessed with this cast, I’m in awe of the world, and I just feel so impressed and emotionally full after finishing. And honestly, you can’t dictate how someone connects with a book. Everyone’s experience is different. Other reviews won’t take away what I felt. This was my experience, and it was everything. If it wasn’t for you, that’s totally okay—but for me? Five stars forever. I would do it all over again. I wish I could read it for the first time all over again. Wow. Just wow. I'm in love.

This book….how to describe how I feel about this book is hard to put into words, but I will. I’m writing this review while listening to the killer playlist for inspiration. These characters were put through the wringer. Each was written with a dsitinctive personality and quirks. Nova has such great personal growth and as she so sarcastically and eloquently said “Hi, I’m Nova. I strip for a living, pick pockets for fun, and collect emotional baggage like it’s a Black Friday sale. Oh, and I’ve got a lineup of lovers who probably need therapy more than I do. Good luck untangling this mess.” Sylus is a lovable psycho with a love for Backstreet Boys. Koen is the mysterious mentalist and knows what Nova needs before she does. Niko, is lovable and when he smiles he has dimples. And Alaric, was a surprise (ifykyk) and he was written in a way that had me rooting for him. Also, I did not see Alaric coming, I don’t know if missed clues in first book, but that was the second biggest shocker I’ve read this year. My jaw was on the floor, quickly followed by teary eyes.

The story picks up at the moment we left off, Niko has found Nova in his mother’s office. She was there to get evidence that Veronica, Niko’s mother, is responsible for Oscar’s death. He realizes Nova played him and is devastated. After Nova is injured saving Levi from Veronica’s security she has the biggest shock of her life, when she finally meets Alaric. When it goes sideways, Sylus and Koen are there for her. Together they all set about the plan to get justice for the man who brought them all together, Oscar. They plan to expose Veronica in the biggest and flashiest way befitting of a Vegas magic show. There was a moment at the end of their show that had me gasping “oh sh*t” when…well I’m not going to tell you, read the book!
I loved seeing the characters grow and face their issues together. Ms. Black has written a story that will emotionally wreck you and have you fanning yourself the next page. This was different from other why-choose/poly books I’ve read. There is spice, oh boy is there, that will wreck you just as much as the emotional rollercoaster the characters go on. Ms. Black balanced the emotional journey and heat beautifully. The emotional aspect was written in such a remarkable way that you felt their pain, sadness, and happiness. The epilogue is one of the most satisfying and happiest of endings I’ve read. It left me with a smile and sadness because the story was over. I will be recommending this duet to anyone out there who wants to get wrecked in more ways than one.

Thank you to Blake Black and group at Chaotic Creatives for the privilege to read an advanced copy of Gathered Glitter.

Blake does it again!! Another amazing duet! Her books are so unique to anything else I’ve read. Her why choose duets are all unique from each other, but have that touch that you just learn to crave from Blake. Her books are always just a little dark, with that sweet HEA. I always look forward to a new release and revisit her books often. I have loved every one of her books! Her characters are raw, damaged, healing and just so amazing!! I am always sucked in to the plot & the romance is always sweet & spicy! There is always the perfect amount of romance/spice & plot; the perfect balance. This duet is set in Vegas, centering around our girl Novalee, Glitter or Sparkle. She is working as a stripper, and drowning in hurt & guilt. Until she stumbles across a pair of famous magicians at a graveyard, accidentally stealing the watch off one. They strike a deal to help each other out, but as she’s pulled into the social circles of the elite & the family of broken MMCs, can she complete her tasks without loosing her heart? This is book two of the duet, so make sure to read Scattered Glitter first! && the spice be spicen in this one!! “Did I just stumble over a kink?” Do yourself a favor and pick up one of Blake’s duets (or all)! Now, for another reread while we wait for another from the Queen!

Thank you Blake Black for the ARC!

Overall this was a really good duet. From the plot to the characters and the sense of suspense, I wasn’t sure how this was going to end. This story is emotional and raw and spicy and these characters just grabbed hold of me.

No spoilers here, so I can’t get into specifics about the plot or a certain hidden/mistaken identity, but I loved how the author drops little twists and surprises. We get this great sense of tension as this crew of people attempt to right a terrible wrong….but it is not easy!!

I really enjoyed the banter in this book. Yes there is a lot of emotion and vulnerable moments but there are also some laugh out loud moments too.

“A co-boyfriend situation. Boyfriend Collective. The Sparkle Syndicate, if you will.”

This book really turns up the heat and we get some very steamy scenes! I would double check those TWs first though!

Novalee had been through so much and we start to see her heal….and she’s not the only one with trauma to work through. I really enjoyed the ending - be sure and read the epilogue!!

This is a great conclusion to the duet. The plotline keeps things moving in the story. While also allowing the relationships to shine through. And grow.
I always love how the side characters in her books bring as much joy and love as the main characters. The found family vibes and other relationships that emerge in this story had my heart happy.

As with many why choose books there are lots of relationship aspects and hard topics to cover at times. And this book doesn’t shy away from them raw and the real. It’s very mentally and emotionally heavy. In the best way possible.

I did feel the end was a tiny bit chaotic but it fit the vibe. I just had to slow down and focus on the story so I didn’t get lost in the Vegas Magic show.
And then boom. It was over.
But… the epilogue healed all wounds. I wanted more. Like always!

I received an ARC of this for free. I am voluntarily leaving this review.

Magic, Mischief, & Meant-to-Be Love…

Blake sure knows how to tug on every single heartstring and that’s exactly what this duet did. I loved this story and the journey everyone had to go on to get to where they were all clearly meant to be, together. It was just so good.

In this second half of the duet Nova and her new found family are working together to take down the woman who seems untouchable behind her power over the Vega strip. But they will stop at nothing to take their revenge and find justice. It’s all about heartbreak and love, betrayal and trust, magic and mischief, adventure and danger, all while fighting for what’s right and for the future ahead of them.

I won’t spoil the excitement and surprises along the way because you need to experience it all for yourself. But this duet is not to be missed. So freaking good!

I don’t know how to write this review like I really don’t. I loved it so much but I have no words… just a jumble of emotions

Like I wanna cry because it was so beautiful and healing for all of them but also because it’s over and I don’t want it to be over
Then I wanna scream because that was just epic, phenomenal, just everything!! Again this is where the no words comes in because how do I properly describe how much I love this book!
I also instantly want to reread this duet from the beginning.

“Magic is in people you share it with.”

The duet as a whole is amazing and I don’t have the words for it but this book especially? So much happens and it’s just nonstop action, but it’s easily her best book yet.

I was beyond lucky to be able to ARC read this and now I’ll just sit here and wonder what am I supposed to do with my life now that it’s over…

"... the people meant to be in your life would find their way there, no matter how improbable it seemed."

Gathered Sparkle picks right up where book 1 left off. In this book, we see each of the characters heal from past trauma and find solace with one another. This book was heartfelt and spicey! We still get glimpses of magic and illusions as well as a little suspense. Blake blends everything together so epically!

What an end to this amazing duet! This story was so heartwarmingly beautiful, and these characters showed great strength and healing. The character growth has been incredible, and all of them captured my heart and soul with their determination and love in healing. Especially one of them.

I was shocked at the twists in this book, I did not see it coming at all, and it was amazing! It made the whole story come full circle and blew me away. Wow 👏🏻

The drama, suspense, spice, angst, healing - everything was amazing! I highly recommend reading this duet, I can’t shout it loud enough!

I’m not ready to say goodbye to these characters yet. This duet will be living rent free in my head for a long time, and I already plan a reread. I think this is my favorite duet of Blake’s yet. And that’s saying a lot, since she has been one of my favorite authors since I read her debut a couple of years ago, and all of her duets has been 5 star reads for me! She just has a way with words and storytelling, and I’m left in awe 🫶🏻

This was a hard review to write, it’s difficult not spoiling anything, but I think I made my point in how amazing it was 🤭

Lots of amazing stuff happened in this book, but as I finished it 3 seconds ago, I need to rave about that ending!!!!! I was smart enough to sit down and read the entire end performance in one go, and it played out like a movie in my head!!! It was Perfection!!! The adrenaline rush I was getting along with the characters was making my heart monitor go nuts!! And then the instant comic relief after escaping in the van to the symphony of the backstreet boys. I kid you not, I almost peed, I was laughing and snorting and crying so hard. I still had tears in my eyes from laughing when the despair tears instantly came back with a vengeance. Their sad-happy ending, visiting the graves, and finally, Nova gets married to everybody. Gosh, I loved these books, I love this Author. I think it's incredible that every single Blake Black book I've read has made me cry. That's true writing magic.

The Now You See Me vibes were vibing, and I'm always a huge fan of the why choose books with such a deliciously flushed out harem of characters. It's fascinating how immediately I fell in love with Nicholas, even when we thought he was the target and the enemy. but everything revealed about him made me love him more and more (especially in the bedroom *wink wink*)

I Fuckin KNEW Alaric was Ace!!! the fact that it took so long for the character to finally meet face to face!!! And the second we learned he (supposedly) killed his girlfriend!!!?!?!? The coincidences were too much and I was hoping beyond all hope I was right!!!

Sylus, sweet crazy, obsessive Sylus was such a good character. He kept things moving forward with everybody, and they had such a perfect dynamic even when Nova was so stuck in her own hell. He feel in love with her faster than I fall in love with fictional characters.

And of course, the intricate Koen. He was passionate and observant, and he cared about her so much so fast he just wasn't sure about letting her in. God, I love it when character has that kind of conflicting heartache. It's so juicy!!! The hypnotist dynamic was so new and interesting to read. There's no way it's that easy, but my suspension of disbelief is as suspended as that car was free flying through the air over those buildings. I will quite literally accept any and all unbelievable things written in a good book. And this was such a good book.

This review is 100% for me. I'm so glad I picked up this book when I did. It was Perfect.

This book was everything, the angst, lies, betrayals and truths were the backdrop for masterful storytelling.

Novalee, Koen, Sylus, Alaric and Nicholas are complex, yet diverse characters who, after loosing what they most hold dear, the fractured friendships, finding that balance between right and wrong, their vulnerabilities testing their strengths are what makes these characters work, the intensity of the emotions that are betrayed are raw and realistic, it will make you fall in love with these characters and not want to ever leave there story.

This duet was Blake Blacks finest works to date.

What got my heart racing was when after so many years, Novalee and Alaric found their way back to each other. That revelation was shocking, yet bittersweet. They are each others first love, and a first love you can never forget. They both endured trauma, because of a choice they made, but now, together, they focus on the here and now, healing, making up for lost time, now that they have each other again, they’re never letting the other go.

We see so much unpacked in their story. Nova’s relationships with Koen, Sylus, Alaric and Nicholas takes on new meaning, as they navigate what it means to be together with the woman they love. Communication is key and they all find a balance that works for them. To be a cohesive unit, forgiveness and redemption is key if they want a future together.

But what had my heart soaring further was the revenge plot against Veronica, the intricacies of the plan, the way it all came together, how it unfolded, was dramatic as it was breathtaking. Koen and Levi gave a magnificent performance with the help of their family and Oscar finally got the send off he deserved.

The penultimate was there happily ever after. They not only found there happiness with Nova but they made a life for themselves in Tuscany, where the pursued their dreams, living there life carefree and of the future they fought for.

And the spice level, woo hoo, was next level. It was a mixture of pleasure and pain, but also steamy, deliciously hot, sinfully wicked, dirty and oh so spicy.

Koen definitely has the daddy vibes going on. Sylus just dives in and goes for what he wants. Alaric, for all his broken pieces, found comfort in the arms of the woman he loves, her love helping to heal him and make him whole, and Nicholas, ever the submissive found his home with Nova, who helped him to make sense of who he his, opening him up to endless possibilities.

Highly recommend both the author and the book. I can’t wait to read what she writes next.

I received an ARC. Therefore, I am submitting a voluntary review.

Gathered Sparkle is the second book in the Glimmer & Gleam Duet by the amazingly talented @blakeblackbooks 🖤

This follow-up is packed with spice, action, and healing — through sharing, redemption, love, confidence, and physical touch.

Imagine four men, each one unique. Each one scarred in his own way.

Imagine you being the cure for each of their pains. The missing piece in a crew whose purpose is to bring justice and grieve a man who was more than just a father figure to them all.

A mentor. A guide. A brother. A friend.

Now imagine stumbling into something bigger than yourself — and still deciding to make it your mission to help the men you're falling for achieve their life’s goal.

This is Novalee’s fate, when she gets tangled up in Lane's project to avenge Oscar, the uncle who was murdered by a fake friend.

Koen is the fatherly figure who definitely doesn’t act like one in bed — cooking your meals, then serving you a different kind of dessert.

Nico is the sweet soul with a carefully chosen bouquet, the kind of guy who’d buy you the stars — and every other celestial object — just to see you smile.

Alaric is the hurt soul who sees in you the hand he’s afraid to hold, yet also finds in you the motivation to become a better version of himself so to love you the way you deserve.

Sylus is the clown you're too busy laughing with to realize you’re falling for — and he worships you like the goddess you are.

I loved every single moment of this duet, and I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for us next.

Her writing is so in tune with my thoughts, expectations, fantasies, and sense of amusement — she never misses a beat in showing me just how great of a writer she is.

Go read this duet — and the previous ones — if you love a why choose contemporary romance that’s not like the others, with real, inclusive main characters and truly touching stories.

You won’t regret it 🖤

30% and I’m already upset with how the things are playing out. Levi wasn’t my favourite on the first book but I got super annoyed with him in this one. Also, I really don’t like main characters that are clearly not at fault but we have their POV and they are blaming themselves page after page.

I don’t understand why would an author create a “pick me” side character that he is becoming a friend to the FMC but at the same time he really doesn’t care about her but only about what he wants and needs. Ezra was terrible in the first book and I don’t see how he can be a friend to the FMC. Both Levi and Ezra were terrible side characters for me.

Nico is by far my most favourite of the group and I believe is the only one who, from the start/book 1, built a relationship with the FMC even though it started cause she had to con him. I hated how NOBODY supported him whenever Levi was being an ah to him.

Koen will always have his brother as a priority even if he says otherwise. Whenever Nico was protecting himself from Levi, koen was protecting his brother.

OF COURSE LEVI NEVER GETS BLAMED FOR ANYTHING THAT HE HAS DONE. Not only to Nico but also to Nova. Nova ruined the plan. Nova’s fault HE went and got caught. Nico’s fault he rejected and hurt him. I felt that he is the main character while he was a side one. Literally -2* is just for Ezra and Levi.

Sylus is just all over the place and he just decided he is in love with the FMC without building their relationship, so I don’t even understand why or how he loves the FMC so much and how he’s her person cause he literally did nothing to earn this position.

My thoughts about Alaric are complicated as I believe he was a very bad influence. FMC being so in love with him still was weird considering that he was the one with the dare and the one driving. Also, he was the one that approached the FMC on the first place and started teaching her all of his tricks.

“Magic isn’t in the tricks, or the illusions, or even the rush of Vegas lights. Magic is in the people you share it with. And it feels like magic now. Here. With them. Everywhere with them. Always.”

Overall I loved this duet! Book two picks up where book one ends and we’re thrown into a world of magic, illusions, secrets, deceit, revenge, love, healing, and family.

I enjoyed book two as we learned a little more about the main characters and their backgrounds, as well as the history that shaped them and made them who they are today. We get a peek into Oscar’s life, the sweet uncle of the Lane brother’s and mentor to the other guys, and how he was the glue that held the family together. He also brought healing and strength to a group of men who needed it and I really loved getting glimpses into the past leading up to such a pivotal point in the story, kind of where the past and future collide in the end!

Nova is a force, and she brings balance to the found family that is created so so beautifully in this book. The banter, jokes, gentleness, and care she has for each of her loves is different and special to each of them, and all in all, their family isn’t traditional in any sense but it works and it’s so very them.

““Blood doesn’t make a family.” Oscar’s voice softens, but somehow, it hits harder. “It’s loyalty. It’s showing up for each other, no matter how hard it gets. And every single one of you… you’ve been more than family to me. Magic isn’t in the tricks but in the people you share it with.””

Overall 5/5 stars! The only thing I would mention as this is a why choose romance, this book had a lot of spicy scenes so be aware, you’re getting into a lot more intimacy and spice in book two.

Thank you Blake! Love these characters and that they’re perfectly imperfect in the best way.

Holy freaking sparkles!!!

This book was phenomenal and spectacular

The drama and the story was perfect an how perfect it went from the first to the next book! I loved the flashbacks and how fitting they were for the immediate situation
The struggles and healing with and for each other, how they all played a part in everyone’s life and how they all came beautifully together
The magic aspect was freaking amazing and what they’ve done in the last act was bizarre, in a very good way!
The spice was hot af and how slowly everyone was involved, either alone with her or all together

But what I loved the most about this book was the growth and finding each other, in the sense of finding themselves, the trust each had in one another and the love they showed, without saying the words

Koen, Alaric, Sylus and Nico are all different but perfect in their own way for Nova. And she’s perfect for them cause she made them see the light at the end of the tunnel in her own special way.

I shouldn’t pic favorites lol but I’m in love with Nico! Idk why but he just has that personality that gave me heart to him, since he first appeared. Sylus made me laugh like crazy with his attitude, Alaric is just a precious bean that I would love to cuddle with. And to Koen, I would never say any other color than green just because

Blake has a way of writing and I can’t get enough of it! How she came up with that story line and how she brought it to life

Can’t wait till I can get both books in my hands and admire them in my bookshelf

My ❤️ Is Full Of Sparkle & I Couldn’t Be Happier ✨

OMG, this was the perfect conclusion to the Glimmer & Gleam duet. Somehow, Blake always gives us so many powerful emotions packed into one story (for us AND the characters), yet it never feels like the same roller coaster ride 😉 The anticipation for this duet ruled my world from the moment Blake announced it. You would think there was no way that it could live up to that type of expectations, but you’d be wrong! Blake set Novalee & her guys on a path in the 1st book that led us on so many twists and turns while we hung onto the edge of our seat in anticipation for the grand finale & end of their journey in the 2nd installment. I love the way Blake was able to add moments of danger & suspense mixed with secrets, revenge & so much drama, yet it never overpowered the beauty of watching Nova’s relationships form, be tested, then strengthen into an unbreakable force with each of the guys. I especially enjoyed watching how the guys’ friendships and bonds strengthened throughout the story, which is something Blake is so good at highlighting. And don’t forget our supporting cast of characters that Blake excels at showing off, yet in only the best supportive ways to our main characters. The ending absolutely blew my mind in true Vegas style, and sent my emotions into a tailspin (which is normal when I’m reading one of Blake‘s stories lol). I can not wait to hear what Blake has in store for us next, especially since she only gets better & better with each new duet ✨❤️✨

Diving back into the glittering world of Vegas magic with Blake Black's Gathered Sparkle, the explosive conclusion to the Glimmer & Gleam Duet! This spellbinding finale elevates everything we loved about book one to new heights.

In this installment, our favorite pickpocket-turned-conspirator finds herself caught in an increasingly dangerous game of deception. With betrayal lurking around every corner and the stakes higher than ever, the line between ally and enemy becomes deliciously blurred. The evidence they desperately need has slipped through their fingers, and their target seems more untouchable than ever.

What truly makes this book shine is how Black masterfully weaves together the threads of trust, redemption, and love. The relationship dynamics between our heroine and her protective magicians deepen beautifully, each character wrestling with their own demons while fighting for their shared future. The emotional payoff feels earned and genuine, making every heart-racing moment count.

The Vegas backdrop continues to dazzle, with high-stakes magic shows and underground dealings creating the perfect atmosphere for this tale of illusion and truth. Black's writing captures both the glittering facade and the gritty underbelly of Sin City with stunning precision.

This satisfying conclusion proves that sometimes the greatest magic isn't in the tricks we perform, but in the trust we build and the love we choose to fight for. 🎭✨

Wow! Just wow! There are not enough words. An amazing, magical, thrilling, emotional, action packed ending to another beautiful duet by Blake!
Gathered Sparkle picks up right where Scattered Glitter left us hanging and wanting for more! I was absolutely hooked from start to finish and couldn’t put it down. My heart so ached for Nova and her men. All the revelations, suspense, pain, heat, relationship building…there’s just so much going on that keeps you wanting more and needing to know what’s going happen next.
I, of course, had my suspicions and guesses throughout (sorry no spoilers lol) and I loved seeing how the story unfolded. I also loved seeing all the healing and how they all come together. Blake’s writing is absolute top tier. You can’t help but fall in love with each one of her characters because of the detail & depth she gives them. Making you feel like you know them personally . Right down to the side characters in the story. They’re not forgotten by any means and are just as important and crucial to the story.
And as always just like Blake’s famous cliffhanger endings in all the first books in her duets (which I absolutely love! The suspense! Yes! Lol) it wouldn’t be a Blake Black Duet without that beautifully wrapped up happily ever after! Pure perfection!
P.S. The spice! Hot Mama! Yes, more please!
