A young artist implanted with a sophisticated AI becomes humanity’s champion on another world in this thrilling science-fiction fantasy-adventure series.

The son of a billionaire tech entrepreneur, Logan Specter spends his time—and his family’s wealth—on artistic and altruistic pursuits. His indulgences have produced a pile of paintings and a string of failed charities. A rebel without a cause who defies his father’s corporatist lifestyle while benefiting from the privileges it affords him, Logan lacks true ambition, unable to commit himself to his own potential. The only things in his life giving him any direction are his girlfriend, Freya, and her unconditional love.

Malcolm Specter didn’t become the wealthiest man in the world by waiting for inspiration. He built MindTech as the ultimate megacorporation, always creating innovative products with an eye to the future. But when a giant countdown timer appears in the sky forecasting the end of the world, he can no longer wait for his son to grow up. Against Logan’s will, Malcolm implants an AI into the young Specter’s brain to enhance his intelligence, altering him into the next generation of humanity, a new breed designed to survive the apocalypse.

When a rift suddenly opens above Earth’s skies, Logan, Malcolm, and a host of others are transported to another realm full of mythical creatures and monsters borne of nightmares. Guided by the sentient computer in his mind, Logan discovers how to tap into this world’s magical Numa crystals and use their power to protect and defend his people. But even as he attempts to embrace his destiny as a warrior and leader, dark forces rise to oppose him, casting a shadow that threatens to consume all life . . .

The fact that, this was book as published AND had an audio-book surprised me to no end.

Every had a need too read about a main character who is hot garbage? Well , you just found the french champagne of of trash main characters. Magicraft master is a perfect example when the author puts enough passion to his work that is akin to masturbation. There is not rugged hansom underdog, or Joe Regular that is fighting day by day out in the world. No, you get the bohemian young master who is super rich, fit, has a girlfriend that loves him and is a fabulous good looks. Also, he has a super AI that was just installed into his brain right before the system apocalypse. The AI that let's him be a demi-god of men. He also has the personality of week old spilled milk. He is constantly rude an annoy to people who are actually trying to help him. He calls his AI "tumor" and has no apprication that he has something that would give him a leg up in any situation. He even ridicules and torments people (his father's thugs) that actively tries to help and save him. The MC tells you, that he he smart but...for some reason, is actually dumb. He makes impulsive decision because (cue the crybaby noise) he doesn't like his rich daddy. This whole series was a turn off and the fact that someone gave this series 5 stars sounds all too suspicious.

This was weird at first with the entitled rich boy, but I eventually got into it.

There are so many things the author could be doing, but didn't think about.

While there could have been a lot more out of the box thinking, I can see myself reading book two of daddy's rich spoilt boy.

This was a fun book. I'll be honest, the MC is kind of hard to root for in the beginning of the book. Still, stick with it. He really evolves as a character. The book is also a tad on the short side, so I found myself wanting more.

It's well worth the read.

Highly recommended.
