Ronen Sinclair

As the town librarian, I loved books, quiet spaces, and order. What I didn't love? The incessantly flirty town sheriff, who constantly lost my precious library books and thought he could charm me into forgetting it. Mason was an irritant I could do without. I was this close to banning him from my library, when an accident made us realize we were fated mates. No thank you, hard pass. I wasn't about to let Fate get her way, but she doesn't like to be denied.

Mason Caldwell

As a hoarder of books, I loved spending time in the library. More than that, I loved flirting with the closed off but very sexy, if not a tad fussy, omega who ran the place with an iron fist. Ronen was surly, short-tempered, and invaded my dreams nightly. After discovering we are fated mates, I’m determined to win him over. When an old enemy rears its ugly head, I’ll burn the town down to get back what is mine.

Ronen is the first book of the Sweet Alps Legacy series, a spin-off of Sweet Alps Mates. While this book is a standalone, please note characters from the first series will stop by to say hi and be involved in shenanigans. As such, it is an MM omegaverse with Mpreg story, featuring a tightly wound, snarky honey badger omega with a penchant for hidden tattoos, a fire breathing alpha who hoards books, a large loving but meddling family, match-making ghosts, some danger and excitement, and a HEA.

Raiven Matthews

Raiven Matthews lives in the Mid-West, with her very spoiled cat, Declan. An avid reader from a young age, she discovered MM romance while reading fan fiction, and never looked back. Her days are fueled by lots of coffee and cuss words, and often plots her books on her commute to her RL job. She has always believed in happily-ever-after, but she was always the girl with follow-up questions. What happened when Cinderella put on that shoe and rode off to the castle? What came after Beast turned into a handsome prince? While she loves when her characters fall in love, she also believes in sprinkling in a big dose of reality, and real-life situations, (even if she is writing omegaverse mpreg) to get there.

Read in another buddy read with the always lovely Lilly ❤️

OH BOY, where to even start...

Well, really the whole reason this is so low is Ronen. It's just ALL Ronen.

He was awful. Just awful. One of the worst characters I've ever read. Just slightly above Six from Break Me Daddy, my most hated character in fictional books I've read. Ronen is a close second. That's how bad this went with the titular character of this book.

I honestly don't understand how the author expected us to like him?

✧ He was an asshole. For. No. Reason. Seriously. We are given NO explanation for why Ronen is like this. He isn't just grumpy either, he's an Asshole. Capital A Asshole.

There's no charm to make up for it. Nothing counteracts the asshole in him.

We also get no explanation or reason or anything to understand why Ronen is the way he is. At the very end we learn he got a mild concussion when he was 7, which concussions are known to change a person's personality, make them angrier than they were. So this could have been an explanation for Ronen's behavior, but it's not used as one, so we can only assume the concussion has nothing to do with him being an asshole and he's just an asshole for no reason.

Which is a major strike against him.

✧ I think the author was going for Ronen as a Bash 2.0, kinda like how Matty is a bit Jamie 2.0, but it did NOT work. Because with Bash he wasn't nearly as bad, number one, but number two, he also had a very shitty upbringing, and went through a lot so as the reader we could understand why he was the way he was. He also had something that made him overall fairly likable in which Ronen lacked.

✧ Ronen grew up with a family who loved him, who adored him. He grew up with two parents who loved and adored each other and still do to this day.

He grew up with Fated Mates ALL around him! So there is NO reason for him to be so angry, so mean for NO reason, AND to detest fated mates and be so against them or any relationship. We're never even told he's not a relationship person, he just...doesn't like them or is against them for no reason we're told.

Especially with Mason...why?

Because he "loses" his library books?!

✧ I felt so bad for Mason. Honestly, he got stuck with Ronen and Mason is truly so great, and I felt Ronen didn't deserve him. At. ALL.

Like we start this with it having been 1 year of Mason coming to the library Ronen is manager of - and owns? I wasn't sure on that - and they've never touched so still don't know they're fated mates, and Ronen being a Grade A asshole for NO reason.

Honestly how are we supposed to like him? He's awful! Like what did Mason ever do to him? "Lose" his books? Which he PAYED TO REPLACE EVERY TIME ANYWAY SO WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL?! Like oh that's his big egregious wrongdoing? THAT? And that gets him hate and asshole behavior? WHAT? Even Mason gets tired of Ronen and his...Ronen-ness too. Like even his fated mate is TIRED of him, doesn't that say something?!

✧ He's at his worst basically the first half of this. His horrible behavior toward Mason over nothing for NO reason - and I just remembered, Mason leaves him ducks for a year, never tells Ronen, Ronen keeps them, it's a whole thing, but aside from Jamie telling Mason about him keeping them, it never comes up between them again, that's a bit of a head scratcher. That could have been a sweet scene, Ronen finding out the guy leaving duckies for him on his car all this time was Mason... - and his refusal to believe Mason is his fated mate and his aversion to it when he has nothing but shining examples of it all around him, and then -

And then, he goes over to "see how Mason is doing" after Mason gets hurt at his library (by ghosts, a random plot point introduced in this that Ronen can see ghosts, but they actually are relevant to the plot so that actually turned out to be an okay addition to this universe) and Ronen instead gets mad at the now "stolen" books and gets all hissy and huffy and immature brat like and then they end up having sex anyway, and Mason, who has a broken foot and is in some pain, passes out after the have sex, and Ronen just...leaves him there.

YEAH. Mason passes out and Ronen leaves him where he passes out. No care given, leaving the cum still on him, no note, not putting a blanket over him even, NOTHING.

Oh my goD is it beyond shitty to do!

✧ And then. AND THEN - a few weeks pass, one of them with Mason fully healed, and instead of coming into the library like he usually does, he's dropping his books off through the book return slot, and then Ronen feels like it's "a slap to the face"

Like are you KIDDING ME?! You left this man after you had sex without a word and haven't spoken to him in weeks and then you get hurt at the guy rightfully being hurt and not wanting to see you? Like the audacity of this bitch!

And THEN - AND THEN - they haven't seen each other, Ronen has made his decision to go to Mason and actually try to finally talk things out like a mature adult (something Ronen has completely lacked so far) and then is speeding on his motorcycle, and Mason, who is on duty, is the one to catch him. And then Ronen acts all smug and shitty and like "you can't arrest me, my rich family will just get me out of it!" Like how fucking entitled and spoiled do you have to be???

And yet they go back to Mason's and all Ronen has to say is he wants to try it between them (out of the blue, with no lead up to Ronen changing his mind and why he does, he just does, I guess) and Mason is putty in his hands, happy.

Now Ronen feels remorse for just leaving him after sex and he feels bad about it - but does he tell Mason this? Does he APOLOGIZE? OUT LOUD? TO HIS FACE? Noooo!!! Absolutely not! Like...okay he's been an asshole, but if he'd been able to apologize, hold himself accountable, truly better himself? I'd probably given this a higher rating, rounded up, perhaps.

But nah, Ronen is as Ronen does. Meaning he continues to be an annoying asshole whiny piss baby.

✧ Like even as they start to date, he has to be beyond grumpy about shit, complaining about so many things, like just TRY TO HAVE FUN. Fucking hell, man.

✧ Like okay, past the halfway mark, he started to get...a bit better. A BIT. See, the oNLY thing saving this from getting 1 star or just lower than 3, is that Ronen wasn't completely awful the whole time. Did he do a whole turn around and become completely amazing in the second half? No. Otherwise this would be rated quite higher.

But he does improve...a bit. Especially the last third, he's hardly even an asshole, and is more just on the grumpy side. Not lovable still, mind you, but...tolerable. Okay. Nothing too egregious was done by him in the last third, and that's a third of the book where I didn't want to scream at this character, so...a plus?

✧ The only thing that saved this was Mason, and the side characters. And the plot, which actually was fairly interesting, especially the climax - even if it could have had a better build up to it imo - where I actually felt for Ronen and what he had to do.

But the other than that, and a few moments here or there where Ronen was better and tolerable, and he and Mason actually had some cute moments here or there, Ronen almost ruined this whole damn book.

But Mason was a sweetheart - and he deserved better than Ronen omfg - and I loved his character.

I LOVED Matty, Ronen's older brother. I cannot wait for his book, he is SO much better than his brother, so much more interesting and charming. He also helped boost up the climax as well with him there in the thick of it.

Of course, seeing all our OG series characters as well, especially Jamie and Bash, who were my fave book of the quad brother stories also helped as well. Plus seeing the other cousins and brothers and their mates again as well. That was a treat.

✧ But if your book needs to strongly rely on your secondary characters to do the heavy lifting of likability for the book, well...something went wrong. (And that is Ronen Sinclair.)

✧ I honestly feel this first book should have been Matty's book. Or at the very least, the author needed to do a LOT better in making Ronen MUCh more likable. Hating a character so much does not make for an overall fun reading experience.

But yeah, we know Matty from Jamie and Bash's book, we fell in love with him there, he was an 8, 9 year old kid and got to have personality (as he wasn't just a baby like the others) so we know Matty well, and if we got to have his story first, we could have connected with this spin-off so much better, in my opinion.

Instead we get Ronen, who was a baby at the end of the first series, who we never got to know, and didn't have any prior getting to know him as a character, so all the sudden here is Ronen, who is rude, an asshole, is abrasive and just all around awful and it didn't work.

✧ I spent most of reading this just wishing this was Matty's book, and loving Matty so much more. Ronen was so...ugh. Annoying AF.

✧ So this is my least favorite work by this author so far, unfortunately. All because of the misstep that was Ronen's character.

I usually love this author's work, so I feel this is just a one-off. Sometimes it happens. I am seriously excited for Matty's book (I hope his LI is the twink we saw and we get of a "forbidden" leaning trope there...could be fun!) and I have no doubt his book will go SO much better.

As it is, this only got a boost of .25 stars from me because of the last third of the book, which had a tolerable, okay Ronen and an interesting plot and climax that I was invested in.

Otherwise...whew, this was middle of the road, and we have Ronen to thank for that. Poor Mason, man. At least he became nicer to Mason by the end, though. It was nice to see that.

So I am definitely excited and looking forward to more, all the cousins were so much more interesting and I can't wait for their love stories.

This story, unfortunately, is just better left behind. Read it if you want, just be prepared for Ronen 🤷‍♀️

Until the future books!

Raiven, this book is incredible and I can see this series being as fantastic as Sweet Alps is. It's tricky sometimes when there are spin off series because they either might not convey the same feelings the previous series did, or the characters aren't their 'usual' selves, or it's a rinse and repeat situation just with different characters. This book, and I suspect this whole series, is nothing like that. There is no faults with this book. Ronen is the first story in a new series that's a spinoff from Raiven's amazing and popular Sweet Alps series. To say that in impressed is an understatement, this book featured ALL of the characters we, (well, I) had come to love from the original series and they were still their loving, boisterous, and meddling selves which I loved! They literally were as authentic as they were in the original series and I really adore how Raiven kept their integrity and stayed true to their characters. Now, you may be wondering if the plot for this book was engaging enough or maybe if the new characters are as great as the original characters. And to that I say a massive yes on both counts. Raiven somehow managed to find the creativity to write not only an engaging and dynamic plotline to accompany the wonderful characters, but she also wrote about a new shifter type while mentioning and hinting at others, which I personally find really impressive. To take something that was already fantastic; in this case the Sweet Alps series, and somehow make the spinoff even better then the original just goes to show the writing prowess Raiven has.

This incredible story dives in to the lives of all the Sinclair children and shows them all grown up and going about living their lives and maneuvering around what Fate has in store for them. Ronen and Mason have a unique relationship, one would say enemies to lovers, which would be somewhat accurate. However, underneath all the snarky comments, and barbs, lies the truth that both men are drawn to each other inexplicably.

I really loved Ronen and Mason's relationship, it was full of comedic dialogue that was really entertaining to read. I also enjoyed how overtime Mason was able to learn more about the side of Ronen he doesn't often show to others, and how overtime Ronen let himself get to know Mason as well.

If Mason was a real person him and I would get along swimmingly! I mean, he loves desserts AND names his animals after them.. Talk about cute! The writing is superb, the characters are fantastic, the plot is done very well, and this is just a fabulous way to start a new series

I’ve read a few books by Raiven and I’m just absolutely obsessed by how she does her omegaverse world. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever read and the stories are just so amazing.

Ronen is such a fun character. He’s snarky and a librarian. What an interesting combo. Also, he is such a grump, especially to the sheriff, Mason, who keeps losing the library books that he checks out. He pays for them every time he gets new books but he is not a fan of the man.

When Mason accidentally gets hurt, the two start to get close. Mason is not supposed to tell anyone but his mate what kind of shifter he is and when he does, it’s simply magical.

There’s a little bit of angst later on, but man, the little bit of action we get was so good. The found family is so beautiful and I love how Ronen’s family meddles in his life Jo matter what.

I love how Mason was able to get Ronen to open up and let his walls finally fall and be the man he always wanted to be. Their first date was just so adorable and I was here for how they got to know one another.

I also loved how Mason would do anything to protect his mate from anything in harm’s way. Also, the giving birth scene had me giggling from Ronen’s smart comebacks. And the name that Jamie just was not a fan of. I need the second book pronto.

I received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.

I positively loved this story. Does the cover do it justice? Absolutely not, I low key almost didn't give the story a chance because of it. But I am so glad I did because Ronen was the omegaverse story I have been craving.

Enemies-to-lovers, action packed, touches of paranormal activities, hidden threats, and dragon shifters, honestly what more could a girl ask for? I had that torn feeling when reading, I didn't want to put the story down but I also didn't want it to end. This might be my favorite Raiven Matthews book.

Ronen and Mason were the perfect character contrast, the push-pull and sexual tension between them is off the charts. I loved Ronen's stubborn personality and I was giddy to see so many familiar faces from Sweet Alps, especially Ronen's parents, Jamie and Bash. I don't want to spoil any of the story but this isn't your typical fluffy omegaverse. Ronen is a strong omega, like his Papa, and Mason has few secrets up his sleeves too.

Now my only complaint is I don't know when the next book will come out, but I really hope it is Matty's story. Or maybe Logan...either way I look forward to diving into this world again.

Opposites attract, fated mates

I adored Ronen.
He's a genius, grumpy, no nonsense omega who simply can't stand his future mate Mason.
Mason is a soft, sweet cinnamon roll, who's just a little shy around his omega.
Thankfully they have some intrepid meddlers who push them in the right direction.
There's some danger from the past that reaches out and causes harm but thankfully everyone is fine.

It was ok and a bit entertaining, but somehow it was way too long.
I found the pace to be very slow with not much happening and the MCs were not very developed.
Also, the ghosts were very annoying and there were way too many secondary characters that made it difficult to remember who was what to who. So many uncles and cousins, which I don't know if they were from previous books or they were being introduced for future books.
Overall, it was ok but I wasn't impressed by the the story.

Ronen is book 1 in Raiven Matthews’ Sweet Alps Legacy series. This series is a spin-off of her Sweet Alps Mates series. This series is still very much what we have come to love and expect from the Sweet Alps universe, but with a little more magic, which makes this world even more magical!

I loved seeing the original Sinclairs and who their offsprings have grown into as adults. This story is Ronen and Mason’s story. Ronen is Jamie and Bash’s youngest son. Ronen is snarky and prickly as a cactus. He is also the town’s librarian. Mason is the town’s sheriff, but he is also secretly a fire breathing dragon who hoards books, especially ones with Ronen’s scent on them. Mason was instantly attracted and drawn to Ronen, who has resorted to desperate measures to get Ronen to talk to him, even if he is chewing him out for constantly “losing” library books. When Ronen and Mason touch for the first time when events unfold at the hand of some meddling match-making ghosts, they realize they are fated mates. Ronen is deadset on taking the “out clause” but even this stubborn omega can only fight fate for so long.

I really enjoyed Ronen and Mason as individual characters and as a couple. I found Ronen’s character utterly fascinating with so many layers that appear contradictory or conflicting to how he portrays himself to those outside of his family. On the surface he is an unapproachable, uptight and bottoned-up librarian, which he is. But under those buttoned-up dress shirts he is covered in beautiful tattoos, loves the thrill of the chase but once the chase is over he is easily bored, and is an adrenaline junkie. Mason is a sweet alpha, but without being a pushover. He is funny and gentle, but can also be rough when that is what Ronen wants. He is so sweet in his need for Ronen’s attention, for him to just talk to him, and leaving him little gifts on his vehicle (even though Ronen did not know Mason was the one doing it). The sweetness doesn’t take away from their scorching hot chemistry. I think this book has some of the best spicy scenes that Raiven Matthews has written.

Ronen and Mason are complete opposites, but Fate never gets it wrong, they fit perfectly together. Their opposites attract dynamic reminds be a bit of Fin and Wade with a mixture of Jamie and Bash, while still being their own unique couple.

Although this can be read as a standalone, I would definitely recommend reading the Sweet Alps Mates series first to get the full enjoyment of the family dynamics and all their shenanigans. I loved seeing Jamie and Bash again, along with all the other original Sinclairs and their mates throughout the story. I especially loved seeing Matty, Jamie and Bash’s eldest son, all grown up, and his relationship with Ronen. Matty is still Jamie’s spitting image in both appearance and teasing personality, whereas Ronen is all Bash. I am not sure which book is next in the series but I really hope it is Matty’s story. I am beyond excited for his story!

What a wonderful book! I absolutely loved it. Ronen is the first book of the Sweet Alps Legacy series, a spin-off of Sweet Alps Mates series. It can be enjoyed as a standalone read but I warn you now, after you finish this book you will want to go back and read the earlier series. This is the story of Ronen Sinclair and Mason Caldwell. Ronen is the town librarian. He dresses the part at work but he has a temper and stubborn streak that match his honey badger shifter persona. He is the caretaker of the library and gets annoyed when people lose or damage books. One person in particular is getting on his last nerve. Mason is the new sheriff in town. He is also a bit of an enigma. No one knows exactly what his "other" is and Mason plans to keep it that way. He is in fact a dragon. And his hoard just happens to be books. Especially books that have Ronen's scent on them. He doesn't steal them. He reports them lost and pays for them to keep everything above board. When Mason first met Ronen he tried to ask him out. Ronen shut that down quickly and didn't interact with the sheriff. So every time Mason reports a book "missing" Ronen has to talk to him. Even if it is only to get mad. A win win in Mason's book. When fate is given a push, Ronen learns that the man he dislikes the most in the entire world, is in fact his fated mate. Mason is overjoyed. Ronen is saying "hard pass". He is not in the market for a mate and especially not the sheriff. This is their story. This book is very well written and easy to read. You are immediately immersed in the small town and all the people who live there. I liked how Ronen tried to defy fate. But well know that fate is not easily defeated. I loved watching the relationship between Ronen and Mason grow. Together they make an unbeatable team. I received a complementary advance review copy of this book from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review. I absolutely loved this book! Once I started, I read it from cover to cover in one sitting. In fact, I have already re-read it. It is now one of my new favourites.

Up front, I enjoyed this book! I am an avid fan of Raiven Matthews because she overall writes feel-good stories with great interactive characters and well-developed plot points. Ronen-- the first book in the Sweet Alps Legacy series-- continues Raiven's style of writing sweet, sassy, and family-oriented characters within the multi-layered (but not dense) Sweet Alps world.

Ronen and Mason are well-matched in a grumpy/sunshine way, and I appreciated that the "grump" in this scenario was Ronen, because it seems that I most often see the Alpha character portrayed as the grump versus the Omega. As per normal, there were cameos from previous characters and hilarity ensues. Jamie Sinclair was always a personal favorite of mine, so I really liked his clandestine (and nosy) appearances.

Without giving too much away, I thought the supernatural elements included in this story were-- interesting. I honestly can't decide if I liked or disliked them. I liked them because we get to see previous characters, as well as experience fun and important character dialogue and development. On the other hand, I disliked them because I feel like a lot of effort went into crafting the supernatural elements of Ronen's storyline, and as a result, some of the other plot points including Mason's background and the scenes with Dimitrios/Snake-Eyes suffered and/or seemed like last-minute additions.

So, to summarize-- (1) I was/am thrilled to be back in the Sweet Alps world. (2) I liked Ronen and Mason, and as always, enjoyed seeing glimpses of the entire Sinclair clan. (3) I would have liked the book to be a little bit longer, in order for Mason's backstory/personality to be fully flushed out, and also for the "conflict/issues" with the bad guys at the end of the book to have had more build-up and overall space within the story. (4) Last but not least, I am looking forward to seeing which grown-up, Sinclair-kiddo is up next in the Sweet Alps Legacy series.

Ronen is a honey badger through and through. His family and friends love him, but they're the first to point out he's just a little bit difficult. So when the new sheriff keeps losing his books, it's no surprise that Ronen gets bent out of place. He's not about to let anyone disrespect the library or it's books.

Mason is the new sheriff. He's got a serious reading and hoarding addiction. So when he decides that the best way to get the librarians attention is to "lose" a few books, well he's not hurting anything since he pays for the books. He isn't going to give up on Ronen.

When an accident brings these two together it's magical. The sexual tension between these two notches up quite a bit. Just when they're settling into a routine danger comes a calling. Between a honey badger, a few ghosts and several family members, things just might come out alright.

This is my favorite Raiven book so far. There's the magic of the Sweet Alps series with a little more. Ronen and Mason are a perfect fit and their chemistry is hot. 🔥 Ronen has been having a nightmare for a long time and an unlikely person is trying to give assistance, if the Sinclairs will calm down long enough to let him. I loved Ronen's prickly attitude. Mason had to work for his love and was better for it. Mason was a sweet man who wasn't a doormat. He knew what he wanted, he was just going about it too slowly. This book held my interest from page one until the end. Sorry that it ended. Definitely recommend this book, series and author.

You ever read a series and want more? You want to know what happens to their kids? Where they end up in life, what happens to the town, what happens to your favorite characters?

That's what Raiven Matthews has given up with Sweet Alps Legacy! Ronen is the son of Jaime and Bash Sinclair from "His Dangerous Omega", but he's all grown up. Ronen works in the Library, actually his is the head Librarian because he has his Masters, thank you very much, he is very much a button up, prim and proper Englishman like his father. Just don't mind all the tattoos under that button up or his temper!

Mason Caldwell is the newest Chief of Police. He owns a farm way out on the outskirts of town. He loves to torment Ronen (as Ronen sees it) and he's a hoarder of books, which he tell the librarian that he keeps losing causing a certain temper to flair. But the biggest question on everyone's mind is "what kind of shifter" is Mason, no one really know and he's not telling.

But as with all things Sweet Alps, fate has a plan for these two and they just can't stay away from each other. With a little supernatural help, a zing of electric magic and brother who knows far too much about fated mates - these two end up exactly where one of them wants to be and the other doesn't.

This book has everything we've come to expect from Raiven Matthews and Sweet Alps. Fated mates, heat, steamy hot sex, danger, sweet moments of tenderness, snarky banter and a family dynamic that is way to involved in each others business.

Few things are more annoying to a librarian than patrons who constantly lose books, right? Sherriff Mason Caldwell has been driving librarian Ronen Sinclair crazy for over a year, and Ronen would be just fine with that if Mason would stop losing books. That is, until the moment they discover they're fated mates and Ronen gives that idea a big nope, because where's the fun in letting fate catch you?

I truly did not put this book down once I started reading it, and was sad when it was time to leave Sweet Alps again. There's plenty of quirky humour, love, teasing, and heat with a few dashes of suspense and adrenaline as Mason and Ronen figure out their relationship and confront a piece of Sweet Alps' legacy.

You can read this book as a standalone, but I really recommend reading the Sweet Alps Mates series first. Knowing the previous generations makes the little side plots much more emotionally impactful and had me alternately reaching for the tissue box (I'm a real softy with generational series) and giggling at their shenanigans. That being said, the new generation of the Sinclair brood is truly funny in their own right.

I 100% recommend this read, with or without having read Sweet Alps Mates.

I was so excited to go back to Sweet Alps and this book definitely didn't disappoint! Ronen was such a complex character and I absolutely loved him. He can be a buttoned up professional, a tattooed bad boy, a grumpy librarian, or super sweet and sentimental around his family. It was fun watching all those parts come together, even if it give me a bit of whiplash. Mason is much more of a what you see is what you get type of guy, even if he won't reveal what type of shifter he is.

The majority of the book is a fairly light, sweet romance. Ronen and Mason are getting to know each other, with Jaimie popping in every once and a while just to cause trouble. Once we get past the 75% mark is where the action comes in. There are trigger warnings, but if you've read any of Raiven's previous books, it's similar to what we've seen in those. Basically bad guys getting what's coming to them

This is a spin off the the Sweet Alps Mates series. While some of the characters from that series do pop up, this could easily be read as a stand alone. It was a great addition to the Sweet Alps world, with lots of romance and heat, plus a little bit of thrill

I received an ARC of this book from the author and this is my honest review

Lovable Horny Idiots

I'm not going to lie, I came into the Sweet Alps Mates Series about midway (yes, I'm going to go back, eventually *avoids eye contact with TBR pile* so I didn't have 100% of the parents' stories, but that didn't stop me from reading this. There's enough backstory covered in Ronen that I didn't feel lost in the world; the author does an amazing job for new readers coming into Sweet Alps for the first time.

Back to the 'horny idiots'. I loved Ronen, he's kind of my spirit animal. Super grumpy, and full of surprises. I really felt his grumpiness because that's how I identify as a person. I loved how logical he is and has to weigh his options, but then when it comes to Mason, logic goes out the door.

Mason was just adorable, I wanted to hug him from the very beginning. These two gave off golden retriever + black cat personality vibes.

This story was a little different than the rest because of the special friends that Ronen has, don't worry, you'll meet them meddling meddlers who like to meddle.

I'm excited for the next book. I will definitely (maybe) have gone back and read all the parents' books in the origin Sweet Alps Mates by the time the next book is released.

4.5 stars for Ronen and Mason kicking off the Legacy series for Sweet Alps! I adore the Sweet Alps series and am super excited to check on everyone now that the kids are all grown up. Ronen is grumpy and I am here for all his snark. Mason is a huge cinnamon roll who just wants Ronen to say more than three words to him. I do kind of wish to have known why Ronen took an instant dislike to Mason, but it wasn't quite brought up.

That being said, Ronen can see ghosts. His grandfather is trying to warn him that something bad is coming but he doesn't want to listen. Mason just wants Ronen to see him, even with his secret. There are a lot of cute scenes between these two and they do make sense together. Most of the action doesn't really happen until the end, but I do think it's a good reintroduction to the characters of Sweet Alps. I do wish that there was a family tree at the beginning to reference since there are a ton of Sinclairs and I was like...uh who's kid is this? I do wish we got to see more of Mason's family as well. This is for sure heavily focused on the Sinclair family and I can't wait to see more!

Ronen Sinclair, the meticulous town librarian, prefers quiet order and well-behaved patrons—definitely not Mason Caldwell, the charming, book-hoarding sheriff who flirts shamelessly and constantly misplaces library property. Ronen is ready to ban him for good… until an accident reveals they’re fated mates. Ronen wants nothing to do with it, but Fate has other plans. Mason, smitten and stubborn, sees their bond as destiny and sets out to win over the prickly omega who haunts his dreams. But when a dangerous enemy resurfaces, threatening everything they hold dear, Mason will stop at nothing to protect Ronen—even if it means burning the town to the ground.

I enjoyed this story which was an enemies-to-lovers with a fated twist and a whole lot of heat. Ronen was such a stubborn man which ended up getting on my nerves but eventually he did come around. There was danger and drama near the end of the story. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content set in the omegaverse with MPREG.

Reading this has made me move the original series up my TBR as the more I read the more I wanted more of this world. Also you do not need to read the original series to enjoy and understand this story.
I loved Ronen, his snarky no nonsense attitude had me laughing at times especially when this attitude was thrown at Mason. Mason the Sweets Alps' sheriff had a major crush on Ronen and if snarky Ronen came out to play when Mason lost a book, then Mason was happy.
I really enjoyed this book reading it in one sitting. Whilst there was attraction, Ronen made Mason work for it and I liked them taking time to learn about each other. The addition of the ghosts gave some comedy moments that had me laughing out loud.
My only niggle is that not all Brits like tea but with Ronen's family being large and loud I can overlook it.

Wow...this was so good. Really beyond my expectations of what the spin off will be like. I absolutely love the Sinclairs and now we get to read their legacy starting off with Ronen. OMG...this prickly fellow had so many layers...LOL It was a fun read with how all the extreme sexual tension between him and the nice hunky sheriff Mason had going on. Some secrets with a little drama...a whole lot of laughter and fun...with some HOT sexy times made this wonderfully entertaining. A very satisfying HEA with more to come with the other Sinclair cousins...can't wait...I want MORE!

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

In this first spin off book of the Sweet Alps books, you return there with the children of the fated mates. The town librarian Ronen is Jamie and Bash's son, a honey badger shifter and detests the Sheriff Mason. Mason flirts constantly, loses books, no one knows what kind of shifter he is and he is in love, lust and need of Ronen. When they discover they are fated mates, Ronen tries to ignore it but can't. Mason is sweet, patient, flirty and fits Ronen's cowboy kink. Ronen is stubborn, organized and has to finally bow to fate. I loved this return to Sweet Alps and await more books. I received a copy of this and this is my voluntary opinion.

really liked it

I really liked this book. 4 stars for rating, 3 for spice. Mason was such a sweetie, this really was opposites attract. Stubborn Ronen just like his stubborn Papa. It was a little bittersweet because of the grandparents and old age, but seeing all the family together was so nice. I’m a little bummed the little duckies weren’t mentioned again after the beginning bit, that was such a cute thing between them.

Ronan & Mason

This was such an interesting start to this spin-off series. Ronan and Mason seem to be opposites and an unlikely match but fate had other plans. I enjoyed reading this one for their story and background story that developed. I can't wait to see who gets their story next.

I received an ARC and this is my unbiased opinion

Ronen book was so good and is a must read. I love that we saw cameos of our favorite characters in a new way and I love Jamie more now.

I did not see Ronen would be a mini Bash, but it makes so much sense and make the book funny when he was snippy but always proper. I loved this book and can't wait for what next

Ro and Mason

This book was amazing. Ro and Mason are the perfect opposite attract trope ever. Ro is a little daredevil, which I should have saw coming with his parents. I loved seeing the previous main characters grown up and their relationship with their kiddos. There is also supernatural components which was a big plus. 10/10 recommend.

Delving back into the Sinclair clan, we get the younger son of Jamie and Sebastian as the main character in this story.
Ronen, the town’s librarian is a man of special talents. But, the one person who he can’t seem to get on with is the new sheriff, Mason.
Their hostile banter quickly becomes something meaningful and physical when they discover they are fated mates and that Ronen has had a special connection with Mason for a long time.
But, ghosts of the pasts rear their ugly heads and when Ronen is threatened, Mason and all of the Sinclairs will have to come together to make sure he is safe.

An engaging omegaverse read with cameos from previous, well loved characters, getting to see interesting new abilities, moments of action, passion and a sweet HEA.

Great!

I love all of the Sweet Alps books, but this has to be my absolute favourite.

Mason is a wonderful alpha mate, and Ronen is totally adorable. They are an excellent couple.

The cover is one of the best that is as true to the character that I've seen.
