Abby Larson is a determined and independent college girl, who crosses paths too many times with her once friend, now sworn enemy Wesley Baker, a rugged bull rider with a reputation as wild as the animals he conquers. With their worlds constantly colliding in unexpected ways, Abby finds herself drawn to Wesley’s untamed spirit. As they navigate the highs and lows of college life and the adrenaline-fueled world of bull riding, will they surrender to their undeniable attraction, or will their sworn hatred towards one another keep them from finding happiness. “Riding the Storm” is a gripping enemies-to-lovers romance that will leave you breathless until the very last page.
Riding the Storm is a sweet small-town romance centered around Wesley, a bull rider dealing with some heavy personal struggles, and Abby, a small-town girl with a gentle strength of her own. Their story has that cozy, down-home charm — two people finding each other right when they need it most.
I loved this closed door enemies-to-lovers romance! Haley's storytelling shines as she delves into the complexities of Abby and Wesley's relationship, capturing the push and pull of their emotions with authenticity and depth. If you love tension, passion, and second chances, this one's a must-read!
“Enemies to lovers" is one of my all-time favorite tropes, and Riding The Storm delivers on every level. From the very first page, I was hooked by the electric tension between Wesley and Abby. Their relationship is so compelling, and the author does an incredible job of building that slow burn that makes the eventual romance feel so real.
The characters are complex and layered, with Wesley being a bull rider with past issues caused by trauma, and Abby moving away from a toxic family and trying to navigate a normal life. What I loved most was how their history of conflict that allowed for rich character development. Both characters go through meaningful growth, which makes their eventual shift from enemies to lovers so much more impactful.
The chemistry between the two builds up steadily, and when they finally give in to their feelings, it feels like an explosion of emotion and intensity. The dialogue between them is sharp and witty. It’s clear that the author really understands the intricacies of the enemies-to-lovers dynamic, and it’s not just about the shift in their feelings but how those feelings evolve from rivalry to deep respect and eventual affection.
If you love tension-filled romance with witty banter and a heart-pounding slow burn plus bull riding this book is a must-read. Haley has crafted a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat, and I couldn’t get enough of the fiery dynamic! Highly recommend!
This was a very sweet closed door enemies to lovers romance filled with tension and yearning without the spice. Two former friends turned enemies learn to navigate their inner turmoil and bent up emotions as situations around the two have them acknowledging that there might be something between them if they only gave it a chance. Haley tells a very heartwarming story about an up and coming hot shot bull rider (Wesley) and sweet but reserved (Abby) dealing with college life and the struggles of life, relationships, past trauma while learning how to communicate with one another. The chemistry and story telling was beautifully written and it told a story in a way that can be enjoyed by a wide audience of romance lovers.
A cute clean college romance about two people who used to be friends but now act more like enemies. In this debut novel, Haley tells a story of two people with difficult pasts that end up finding each other and love.
