We've been best friends since we were kids, but we never acted on how we really felt, until now.
Wrath I've been President of Devil's Inferno MC for the last five years. I hid part of myself because I didn't want anyone thinking that I couldn't do the job because of my sexuality. Now I've proven myself, so I'm taking what's always been mine, but nothing is quite that simple is it? We're in for some shocks that's for sure.
Flame I'm an Enforcer and I'm openly gay. I've always understood why Wrath made the decisions he did when he took over as President. Didn't mean it didn't hurt though. All I've ever wanted is him. When he finally makes his move I couldn't be happier, but then the past comes back to bite us in the ass and we've got to fight to survive. If you have triggers, please ensure you check the trigger warning page at the start of the book.
This is an author to watch. This was her debut book and what a book to read! It has good heat, an enthralling storyline, it’s medium gray for darkness and provides multiple POVs. I love the world she is building and can’t wait to read more. She has definitely gone on my 1 click author list and I can see this Biker Series becoming a fav for me. Congratulation S. Leigh on an amazing start to your career as an author! Grab it now if you are looking for a new Biker Series, it’s one that shouldn’t be missed.
Ok this one took me completely by surprise and not in a bad way.
Having never read anything before by S. Leigh, I wasn't sure what to expect but man were my expectations blown clear out of the water! This book was certainly a different writing style that I was used to, but I am not complaining about it. You get the story of our two MC's, Wrath and Flame, who have pined over each other for years, but with Wrath becoming the MC President so young, it was essential that he work towards earning the trust of the men he inherited from his father's presidency that he suppressed his feelings towards Flame as to not add any scrutiny to his rule by coming out as gay. Flame pines for Wrath from the background and has somewhat made peace with the fact that he will never get his shot with Wrath. As secrets start to come out and murder plots start to appear, they may both get their chance to be with each other- with a whole host of drama in the middle.
What made this story so unique in my eyes was that not only do you get such detail from the MC's- from the spice in their relationship as the find one another again so to speak as well as their pasts, you also get a whole host of mini stories for some of the supporting characters. Nothing that would jump out at you and make you be like "okay I can see where this may be going" but just enough to keep you hooked in the world and ready for more. There are so many supporting characters in this story from all different walks of life that just help enrich the story as a whole and they are all perfectly teased that I'm not sure who I would want to see more from next. There are certainly going to be some more plot twists that I can't wait to see how they are going to play out and this was certainly an adventure to go on with all of them. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book to see what this MC can get up to!
This was the first book, in this new" Devil's Inferno MC " series. Also was the first time, I read her book. I couldn't this book down. Please, read the triggers warning , for this book. I couldn't put, this book down. This is a good change , for a MC club, they have M\M as the President and the Enforcer. 💓 Wrath and Flame. This book has so much, like M\M romance, MC, well written, wonderful characters, best friends, son, President and Enforcer, action pack, kidnapping, denied being who he really is to his MC brothers, people wasn't who you think they were, surprise will come will change lives forever, club going in different directions trying to hold the club together, entertaining, unpredictable, page turner, best friends, he thought he need to hide who he truly was that way No one would judge his ability to be the President of the MC , steamy and so much more. I'm definitely, Can't wait, for the next book. This is also on my reread list. 💓 it.
Wrath's Flame is book one in the Devil's Inferno MC Series. I have read quite a few MC romance stories and this was an interesting one as it was a MM romance. You usually don't get those kinds of stories with the MC stories.
I was very upset for Flame for the first part of the story. He's been in love with his best friend, Wrath, for a long time, but circumstances have arisen where they both believe they cannot be together. It was sad to see him struggle with trying to hide his emotions. He had embraced who he was and wasn't going to hide that part of himself. But he felt he needed to hide his true feelings for his best friend. Unrequited love is a very sad story, so I am happy Flame was able to get his HEA.
I am glad Wrath smartened up early enough to be able to truly embrace who he is and be with the person he truly wants to be with. He felt he needed to hide who he truly was so no one would judge his ability to be the President of the MC. It was great to read the inner thoughts of someone who has been hiding their sexuality for all their life, to finally embrace who they truly are and be with who they truly want.
This was definitely a good start to this series. It has set us up for some future stories which I am looking forward to reading.
Overall, I found this to be engaging, and almost fully immersive. I really enjoyed the expanded POV style, while concentrating on how non-main POVs linked back to the main characters. I also appreciated the descriptions of Club life; note -- any casual misogyny is absolutely appropriate in context of the lives presented to us.
I also greatly appreciated the grace & gentleness Leigh used in approaching darker themes regarding childhood. At no time, did these scenes feel shoehorned or trope-adjacent. They were obviously well thought out before including them in the narrative.
That said, I felt pulled out of the story at times due to odd word choices that sometimes read as if the author was attempting to transcribe US & UK phrases and descriptors. There were also some mild inconsistencies with how Wrath was presented / described and his internal / external dialogue. Were it another context, I could see it as masking / code-switching, but given he was raised in club life, These shifts were jarring.
Flame and Jackson have been BF's forever and when they grow up, Flame becomes the Enforcer for the MC Jackson is president of. Flame hides he is in love with Jackson, now called Wrath who returns his love. This book also deals with many of the club's members love lives, someone infiltrating the club, several bad guys and someone's unknown son turning up. The club sounds great and the crew fantastic but there are too many plots and threads introduced and some of the dialogue is not good. I think it was a good premise for a debut but it just got away from the author with too much going on for one book, too many accidents, too many problems. I encourage the author to keep writing but refine and limit. The couple were very much in love but really needed anger management or counseling. I received a copy of this through Booksprout and this is my voluntary opinion.
The Devil’s Inferno MC series begins with Wraths Flame, the first novel. The tale is well-written, and the characters are likeable, even though MM isn't usually my cup of tea. The author is new to me, but her work captivates me with the story of Wrath and Flames and the hardships they face as a result of their affections for one another. Every reader will identify with the protagonists and heroines, and will be moved by their resilience and fortitude once they face their demons. As they sought to understand themselves, my heart ached for them both. I can't wait to watch the author's future works including these characters.
I received a copy of this book via Indie Author Creative and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I did enjoy this book for the most part. It is action packed and I loved both Wrath and Flame. My biggest issue with this book and what ultimately kept me from giving it 5 stars was how everyone else’s story took away the focus of Wrath & Flame. We get POVs from so many different people in this book that I think it truly took away from experiencing Wrath & Flame’s relationship development. I understand that the author is setting up for the rest of the books to come in the series and a few little tidbits here and there would have been fine. For this book to be about Wrath & Flame, I just think we got entirely too much from everyone else. Again, I enjoyed the parts of Wrath & Flame we did get, I just wish there was more focus on them than so many other plots of the members.
Wow amazing. This had a lot going on. First off when Flame was younger he was being abused by his half brother. He was best friends with Wrath. He ended up going to his house one night and he was very bruised. Wrath called his dad and flame stayed with them. Fast forward years later Wrath was the president of the MC club. His twin brother was VP. Flame was one of the enforcers. One day everything changed and the guys were being targeted and they felt that they had a mole and it turns out they had 2. This is definitely a must read. There were a few events that took place in the book. So good. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
Wraths Flame is book 1 in the Devil's Inferno MC series. While MM is not my typical read, this is a well written story with characters that's easily likeable. This new to me author brings us Wrath and Flames journey and the struggles they endure because of the feelings they have for each other. The characters and their struggles are very relatable and the strength they have when they finally come to terms with themselves is palpable. My heart hurt for both of them in their path to self discovery. I'm excited to see where this author takes this series and her characters.
The only reason I didn't give this a 1 star is because I can tell the author TRIED. I have one other 1-star review, and this is nowhere near that bad.
Everything is so over the top and laid out so there's absolutely NO mystery at all, or even nuance. Also Wrath putting down the bunnies in the way he did, even though his own club brother AND HIS DAD is/were fucking them is just not it. I don't know if he would have gotten his mind changed, but I got to the point where I just didn't care.
I really tried to like this. I had to stop at 34% it was a great idea plot wise but it just didn’t hit the mark with execution. The writing was repetitive, example being a few different characters thinking the same things about MC relationship in almost exact same words. Another thing I couldn’t get past was how everyone just felt their feelings for like two seconds before accepting the situation. Incredibly unrealistic for cam to immediately trust and fall into family role. I’ll say no more but I’m quite disappointed as Iwas looking forward to the plot for this and book three
This wrath and flame's story. Wraths flames is an M/M, mc book. It does have triggers so please be aware of them when you read this. You had flame fighting to hide his feelings for wrath, who he has loved for a long time. You then had wrath who also thought he had to hide who he was as he thought it would affect how people saw him as prez. This is the 1st book that i have read by this author but it wont be the last.i cant wait to read the next book in this series
I really enjoyed this book and I absolutely loved Wrath & Flame. It is a great MC book and there are plenty of twists and turns to keep you reading and desperate to find out what happens next. I love the relationship between Wrath & Flame and how their sexuality wasn’t an issue in the MC. Their relationship really develops as they get problem after problem thrown at them and seeing how they love each other is wonderful. Great read and I can’t wait for the next book after that cliffhanger!
This is a MM motorcycle romance book. This also happens to be S. Leigh's debut book. This is written with multiple P.O.Vs. the plot and storyline had me hooked from the beginning. I love the backstory she provides as well as keeping you in the present. This spice was about a 3/5 for me , but i still loved it.
This is the first book in the "Devils Inferno MC" series and i cant wait for more. I love Wrath but Flame was my favorite.
This is a new author for me and also MM which I don’t read very often, I absolutely love Wrath and Flame’s story, the way Flame struggles with his emotions for his best friend and President made me really feel for him, just glad how it all panned out, can’t wait for more as this is the first book in a new MC series.
I absolutely loved this book. Wrath and Flame are best friends and are in the same Motorcycle Club. They have had feelings for each other for a long time. But Wrath thinks because he's president, he can't be in a relationship with Flame. Once they overcome that this book is emotional at times but so heartwarming in the end.
This is my first MM novel, and I absolutely love it. The twists and turns were phenomenal! The plot was dead on and I loved how the author was able to offer a HEA even after everything Wrath and Flame went through. I can not wait for book #2, I just found me a new favorite author.
I am sucked into this world now. I enjoyed this tale immensely. I loved Wrath and Flame's dynamic with each other. Hearing about the club family and how well they compliment each other. The downside was that sometimes the writing felt amateurish. I felt this was a young writer, maybe a first book. Idk. I am looking forward to more, though.
4.5 stars. This was a great intro to a new MC world. There were a few issues that stop it from being a 5
The italics when people were talking. That is usually used when people are signing or something. It’s an odd choice
Two club whores being kicked and no backlash from them and nothing happening to Jasmine for reveling a huge secret. Next book is Blades so maybe it’s in that one
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Lots of suspenseful moments and heartwarming characters. Some people are just plain evil and look for any reason to hurt even those they are meant to protect. For Wrath and Flame protecting those they love means everything to them.
I enjoyed the story. The writing just didn't seem to fit the mood. It felt too formal. When different MC members were explaining things that happened to other members, I felt they were over explained. It's hard to put into words other than the writing just felt out of place. The story was great and I am looking forward to finishing the series to see if the writing got better.
The misogyny is strong. The MC are the good guys, they only torture and unalive people who are really bad - or do things they don't like.
Way too much happening in such a short story. None of the characters have a chance to be fleshed out and the author makes it abundently clear who is being paired off in following books. I won't be reading them.
3.5⭐️ I wanted to really love this book. I’m a big MC trope fan but I struggled with this. I liked the main characters and sides. I liked the relationship between them all. I can’t put my finger on what I didn’t like. Seeing other reviews it’s clearly me. So give the book a go. I did enjoy the multiple POV’s.
Absolutely terrible book, it's the worst book I've ever read. Wrath is the president of the club but he comes across a whining softie not a big badass biker. All they seemed to do was cry all the time at the littlest thing. It's a very bad MC book. I definitely won't be reading any more by this author.
Great start to a new series. Flame and Wrath were a great couple. Reslly enjoyed the multiple pov's that set up for more of the series. Can't wait for the next book.
