Lost: The Mistfits Series

Rate this book
Penelope Pawn had an addiction. Sure, she liked candy, and sword fighting shadows, and boys, but something was seriously wrong with her, and she couldn’t put her finger on it. Being homeless wasn’t as bad for her as it was for most. She had a way of collecting kids that turned into family, like brothers and sisters. Unfortunately, every time another kid agreed to come with her to the hiding place she’d created, a rush of power would surge through her like she’d consumed a drug, sealed a deal, or done something terribly wrong. There was one guy though, who wouldn’t come. When Terek showed up at her doorstep, a place well hidden from most others, and demanded she heed his warning, it was the first time she feared the strength of an enemy. Was he a challenge that could become her savior, revealing to her the truth of her past? Could this boy show her how to repair the fiber of the world she’d unknowingly ripped apart, causing a catastrophic end to the home she’d built for herself and the lost ones? Coming books in the series Frigid (2026) and Unlucky (2026). Misfits is a spin off series based on LM Preston's Vigilant series.

This book kept me engaged from the moment I opened it. It is creative and inspires imagination.

Everything from the setting and imagery to the flow and the timing of the suspense was well done. We had so many questions and we were at the precipice of the story and it was action packed from start to finish.

Lost soars with high stakes weaving a vibrant tapestry of epic fantasy sure to captivate dreamers.

I enjoyed this fantasy. The world was easy to get into and the characters begin to grow on you as you get deeper into the book.

Throughout the story, LM Preston gives us characters that are rich and complex who at times have divided loyalties. There is drama and hope along the way as well. All of these contribute to the story as a whole and make it a well rounded read.

This book kept me engaged from the moment I opened it. It is creative and inspires imagination.

The writing is great and managed to bring the story to life with a great world building.

As you read, the story leaps and twists with new mysteries and characters with things to question, and more.

A fascinating fantasy world featuring a great protagonist and cosmic repercussions.
