This book kept me engaged from the moment I opened it. It is creative and inspires imagination.

Everything from the setting and imagery to the flow and the timing of the suspense was well done. We had so many questions and we were at the precipice of the story and it was action packed from start to finish.

I enjoyed this fantasy. The world was easy to get into and the characters begin to grow on you as you get deeper into the book.

Throughout the story, LM Preston gives us characters that are rich and complex who at times have divided loyalties. There is drama and hope along the way as well. All of these contribute to the story as a whole and make it a well rounded read.

Ultimately it has great storytelling with deep characters and a classic but well told intrigue all you need fantasy book to keep you invested.

I really enjoyed Penelope and her journey, she was fun to follow. Can't wait for more.
