Shannon Watters is the co-creator and co-writer of the award-winning, New York Times best-selling comic book series LUMBERJANES, as well as the hit graphic novel HOLLOW, and a writer of animation, comics, and prose. She is also an acclaimed editor and the former founder/editorial head of BOOM! Box line at BOOM! I will only talk about first 8 issues as they were the original run. This is something which looks like a teen girls mashed with gravity falls. It is wacky, fun and a pure joy. I loved the art style and I loved the loose story which went through the 8 issues. It’s tight and it’s purposeful.
It is understandable that this series, although mainly for teens, is also loved by adults. It catches the zeitgeist of teen years in the best way possible.

Oh I love the Lumberjanes so much! I hand-sell the original trades all the time at my little store and I was so excited to see this new compliation! I can't wait to sell this like mad over the holidays. Going to make sure it ends up on all my gift lists as well. I hope they keep going with the bigger omnibuses.
