For The Weekend – Monae Nicole⭐⭐⭐⭐
Newly divorced Cerina went on a trip and met a man (Artist). Artist helped her enjoy the trip even more, but he also wanted Cerina to know herself outside of her responsibilities. Nice quick read.
Finding My Second Chance In Vegas – Erika B⭐⭐⭐⭐
Khalilah and Dalton go through a 16 year separation and Vegas is the setting for their reunion. Khalilah's best friend has little to no filter lol but with this reunion of Khalilah and Dalton, I feel like she added to the moment. The connection between Khalilah and Dalton's present lives is something I did anticipate, but I did not expect Dalton's backstory so that tugged at my heart.
Wild Card – KL Hall ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
K.L. Hall said this is the wildest enemies to lovers story but I was not expecting this!! Leyla and Merrick are strangers, but in comes Onika. When it was said "how do you feel about an audience" oh my attention was grabbed! And my oh my did my attention stay on the story.
Tonight if the Night – Rosè Dior ⭐⭐⭐⭐
A set up. Pure set up lol. From Harlem and Jahsir's blind date all the way to this story ending with a cliffhanger. I will for sure read Salacious Entrapment so that I can get the full story

Not just one single parent professional, but two? This short story is once again my introduction to a new to me author, but I am here for this dynamic. With the way Keenan stepped on the scene. I understand, Izzy! I enjoyed Izzy and Keenan's story. Black satin bikini briefs, Keenan? 👀

I read this book out of order, which is okay because it’s a series of unrelated short stories. The featured authors are Monae Nicole, Erika B., Rosé Dior, Monica Cox, Cyn, Riley Baxter, Wynta Tyme, Genesis, Mel Dau, and Sabrina B. Scales. If you don’t want to read every story, I’ve listed out the tropes and levels of spice as best as I could. I hope it helps 🫶🏾

Age gap trope (older woman, younger man) | The rendezvous between Artist and Cerina happened because of a bet between Artist and his friends. Things were hot and heavy between Artist and Cerina until she learned of the bet. Really, all of that could’ve been avoided if Artist’s friends Venmo’d/Zelled/Cash App’d him the money instead of giving him cash, but where’s the fun in that? The vibe between the two was really good, and we get an update on their lives a year later. I really liked Artist and Cerina and wish there was more to their story.
Finding My Second Chance in Vegas - Erika B.

Second chance romance trope | Dalton and Khalilah were cute. They dated as teenagers, were forced apart, and then reconnected as adults in Las Vegas. Our time with them is spent learning what caused them to break up in the past and then witnessing them catch up with one another now. The chemistry between Dalton and Khalilah was palpable, and I hope they’re living HEA in Erika B.’s head.

Enemies-to-lovers trope | Leyla and Onika are high school rivals who bump into each other at the airport in Las Vegas. Leyla later meets a guy named Merrick at her hotel and the vibes between them are so good and sensual. I don’t want to spoil anything for you but know that Onika pops back up and a time was had.

Idk what trope to give this one | Maaannn if you have some sense, this story will piss you off. It’s full of deception and is only the tip of the iceberg. All of the fuckery continues in “Salacious Entrapment” (which is how I learned of “Vegas Heaux Tales”) where things somehow get a bit worse at one point. In this book, Jahsir and Harlem’s story doesn’t end on a cliffhanger so if you don’t want to continue reading about them, you’re good. BUT you’re going to want to know more because with the way Rosé Dior wrapped it up, your jaw will be on the floor.

Second chance romance trope | I liked how much Veda and Leo cared for one another and were each other’s safe space. There’s a bit of BDSM in their story with the focus being on a dom/sub relationship. We get to know their past and how they previously met and it’s really sad. Papa Terrance is a terrible ass “person”. Leo and Veda were able to push through in life but their time in the care of Papa Terrance lingers in their day-to-day.

Friends-to-lovers trope | I usually love me a friends-to-lovers story, but I wasn’t really feeling this one. I didn’t like that Devyn was essentially waiting around to become more than friends with Zenayah. Like he was only her friend because she didn’t see more for their relationship and he was biding his time. I don’t like when guys do that in real life and that feeling transferred over to this story. I couldn’t even enjoy the cute shit Devyn was doing because of that. Zenayah hadn’t ever thought of Devyn in a romantic way, but I’m supposed to believe she’s all-in with him? Zenayah stared at Devyn’s dick through his pants, became hot and bothered, and all of a sudden can picture a life with him 😒 Girl! Ok. 🙄

Lark then meets a guy who she thinks she’ll never hear from again, but he pops back up in an “unexpected” way. Again, it’s an interesting storyline. I just didn’t care for the way it was written.

Janelle was a major control freak, and Kash was able to get her to relinquish all of that control. And Melody was a big ass hater. Kash could’ve let Janelle rock Melody’s shit in a private room or something lol.

So, I read them all and baby when I say this was a joyous adventure to read. I def enjoyed every story buy each author. They each bought something special to their individual stories. I think that my faves where Wynta Tyme story because I did not see that plot twist...def threw me for a loop in the best way, I really need more to the story cause it was just not enough. Girl you had me Literally did not see that coming. Also, Mel, Dau short...damn I didn't see that info...I def gone need something longer with these characters. All of these authors really put they all into this anthology. The overall rating is def SPICY...CAUSE THESE CHARACTERS BE FUCKING!!!!

Now I haven’t had the pleasure of reading some of these author’s catalogues but I promise that I am on my way on over there. This was a very entertaining ride. The different readings gave me a lead way to see how each other express themselves and I’ll just say that there was not one story that I found boring. Each one grabbed my attention and kept me going. I even found sequels to some of these stories. Best selections to read.

I brought it for Tap Out by Mel Dau but was excited to see what some of my BLP Authors added to this book. Baby it was very spicy!! I couldn’t put it down!
If you have not been introduced to the Authors of BLP then this book is definitely a great introduction to them. So add it to your TBR!!

Each and every story in this anthology was amazing. I was hooked from beginning to end. Each story brought something different. My favorite stories were by Mel Dau, Sabrina Scales, and Erika B. These authors did not come to play.
