This is an excellent guide book. Make sure you read it before heading abroad for tips on less expensive airfare, safety, copying your personal documents, and much more. Example of a great tip: If you are heading to Pompei, many of the spoils are in a museum in Naples. Try to visit both sites to fully appreciate the ruins. They have even researched the "Top Ten Places to Smooch in Roma."

This book took me through my semester abroad in Italy. Lightweight and comprehensive, it has great tips on saving money without skimping on experiences. I wish it had a few pictures, but it's a trade-off for how lightweight and convenient the book is. Great color maps in the front as well.
