Detective Ryan Straton is known as the happy-go-lucky playboy of the precinct, the consummate bachelor of the department. At a Halloween party, he enjoys admiring the eye-candy, including a lovely lady—who he learns is Doctor Morgan Pruitt—dressed as Marilyn Monroe. When Ryan stumbles across Morgan getting backed into a corner by a trio of men, he plays hero and rescues her. He’s shocked to be offered a blowjob in thanks, but quickly gets on board when the woman proves just how adept she is with her hands…and her mouth.
When the deed is done, Ryan discovers that Morgan isn’t a woman, and he’s just received the best blowjob of his life from a man. As he’s done with every woman he’s bedded for over a decade, he plans to move on and forget about Morgan. Except, Ryan finds himself dreaming about his red lips and slender, agile hands. Getting advice from his friends—treat him like any woman who’d caught his eye—love ’em and leave ’em—Ryan wonders if it would be that easy. Once he’s had Morgan, would that end his obsession? Or would it only feed it?
I will pretty much read any m/m romances Charlie Richards writes, even though her writing is amateur and sometimes unsatisfying. It's like a drug. I don't know why I do this.
***** I really, really liked this one !! ***** This GFY romance has everything. Big, bearded, Cop Ryan was betrayed by his girlfriend and has yet to do more than a one night stand. Slim, smaller, beautiful Dr. Morgan Pruitt has bad luck with men and fears he'll never find anyone special. It's a Halloween party at the Firefighters and the two men meet. Brave Ryan the Viking saves the lovely Marilyn Monroe, Morgan, from three abusers. It's the kiss, etc. ...wow, and neither man can forget the other. We have suspense from the case Ryan is working, lots of friends to deal with, and Ryan seeks advice from gay friends. Morgan is not a cross-dresser, but loves to dress up for a costume party. He's a surgeon, and Ryan seeks him out for a night long introduction to first time gay sex, which is amazing, erotic, beautiful, and is never going to be enough ! The guys spend time together in and out of bed, while Ryan makes his discoveries. The plot thickens with the serial killer case, and Morgan gets in the crosshairs. While Morgan recoups, Ryan is realizing his feelings go deep. Wonderful characters, interesting plot flow, and terrific hot sexiness are all here for us to enjoy, and we do. Loved it ! Highly recommend ! ENJOY !! ===================================
2.75 stars The blurb looked so well...but that was about the whole first five minutes. The start was really great. The interactions hot. But when the story got a certain direction and working to a plot it made a dive down. Really over the top. Morgan did not had a role in the story and not a notable personalite. Ryan made the relationship unbelavable. The blurb looked so well. Unfortunate a no no (for me) feel free to make up your own opinion The writing itself was good and smooth
Had to deduct for a few things but gotta say... This series is great for me. Ok so to suspend disbelief that ONE encounter with what was thought of as a woman sparking gay feelings.. I think that part could have been handled better. Although I really like all the characters, just not enough for this circumstance to be totally acceptable to me.
The other item stretching the realm of coincidence... oh wait for the spoiler tag...
Ryan's exploration and willingness to go for it was sweet. Although we never actually see Ryan take part in the 'giving' of a blowjob we are told at the end (bummer) that he's gotten quite good at it. Anyways.. I like it! just the few issues that bothered me.
Man, I wanted this to slow down. I loved Ryan and his reactions. I loved his openness with Carl and Vincent. I loved how honest he was with Morgan. Yep, I just loved these two.
I just can't go wrong when reading a Charlie Richards book. I have several of her paranormal stories and enjoyed those as well. This is a GFY, which is a particular favorite of mine. I read the first book in this series and this book #4 m/c features someone in the first book and catching up with the original two characters, which was great. Both #1 and #4 are GFY. They are short-ish, sweet and both contain a little suspense, although this one was even better on the suspense/murder mystery part. Great read!
Wow Ryan and Morgan were so hot together. They fit together perfectly. Wishing this book was longer. Hoping Charlie Richards isn't done with this series. I love her work...
This book took me a short period of time to read because it was that good. Morgan is such a sweet man. I loved everything about him. From his excitement over dressing up for Halloween, and his excellent choice, to his flirting with Ryan. I LOVED Ryan as well. Once he figured out his feelings he went after his man. The danger involved in the book was handled very well and that too just made their connection that much stronger. I was sitting here reading it with a grin on my face throughout. So I highly suggest people read this..whether they have read the 3 previous or not, although I suggest they get those as well. It was great to"see" Vincent and Carl again. Hoping there are other books to come.
Just wasn't sold on the whole thing/pairing. Would rather had Detective paired with someone more his... hell, someone more like himself. I'm fed up of seeing Big man with Smaller man.
I skipped Piggyback and Three Point Tuck which are book 2 and 3 in this series because I wanted to read Ryan's story immediately. So, I'm not sure if it was mentioned in either one of those, but I was happy to read that Like his partner Carl, Ryan has never been with a man before. He sees a woman dressed up as Marilyn Monroe at a Halloween party and he's immediately attracted to her. After saving "Marilyn" from a risky situation, Ryan realizes that "Marilyn" is not a woman, but Morgan, a male doctor. He's confused, but he can't stop thinking about Morgan. We finally learn why Ryan doesn't have relationships. I wish there was an epilogue, but maybe we'll read more about them soon.
I've not read three books in this series. I skipped over one of the books because I wasn't that impressed with the main character. Of the three books I read in the series this is probably my favorite and because it was my favorite, I wish it had been longer and more drawn out. I loved the personality of Ryan. One of the main characters who was mentioned in the first and third book briefly. I think the relations he has could be plausible with very few men, but I have complete respect for the men who could actually do what he did. The fact that he was more concerned about getting burned again rather than the fact the person he found attractive being a guy was a plus for me. The man also has a no nonsense attitude and says exactly what he's thinking. He doesn't beat around the bush. I found the end of the book very fast where it could have been drawn out a little more and made really suspenseful.
This was an ok read for me. I had high hopes for Ryan's story and was expecting a little more. I was more interested in the case. I almost didn't want to read it because the doc dresses in drag and I'm not a fan of men dressing as women. I like my m/m to be about men, plain and simple.
Oh and I was a little confused with these men giving 'butterfly kisses' to one another since it's something usually done towards babies and children. It's just not a manly thing to do. I know if a man was fluttering his lashes on me I would not find it sexy. Maybe it was supposed to be meant as lightly soft kisses and the author didn't know what butterfly kisses were. What ever the case my be I didn't find it attractive.
Just finished this and this book is so much better. I loved the suspense of the serial killer they had and the relationship of Ryan and Morgan. First I really liked the dynamic of surgeon and detective relationship. Zero to the Bone has the relationship and I like that in my book. Also can we talk about the cover? Ryan is the perfect person in that right now that I don't even have to pick any Ryan because the perfect Ryan is on the book cover.
I really enjoyed Ryan's story. There were parts where I laughed out loud in this book, especially how he meets Dr Pruitt.. So bloody funny. It was sweet and sexy.. Bring on book 5
This was another fun addition to this series. I loved that Ryan didn't know that Morgan was a man at first, but didn't let that stop him from persuing a relationship with him.
Very creepy gay-for-you trope. Just creepy. Gay for you rarely works in talented hands. This was weird. And I never believed any of it for a second. They don't act like men, none that I know anyway.
