THE DARKEST HOUR

Nearly a decade has passed since Enchantress Laurena and the forces of Havenglade defeated the sorceress queen, bringing peace to the kingdom. But a new evil has emerged, hellbent on unraveling the fabric of magic itself.

With the last of the unicorns teetering on the brink of annihilation and Laurena's own whereabouts unknown, a ragtag band of strangers answers the call.

A reckoning looms, putting their courage, loyalties, and understanding of magic's true nature to the ultimate test.

In a world where happily ever after seems like a distant dream, one truth emerges: the darkest hour demands the greatest sacrifice.

Almost ten years after the victory of Havenglade over the Queen Loli with her black magic, life went it's own way for most people in Havenglade.
Except a new blood threat magician, Valgard, has arisen. Interesting enough this threat is aimed at extinguishing the almost mythical unicorns whose magic sustains the magic still left in the world. Sarina always thought unicorns were indeed mythical animals but her searching the Havenglade libraries convinced her they might actually exist.
But the council of the King are not about to acknowledge any of this. Except one knight, Alden.
Thus an epic journey with but a handful of believers start off to rescue the unicorns.
Final Blessing is the start of a new series in the overall plot of Havenglade and the Badlands with magic the underlying driving force of some very memorable human characters.
This time the main character is Sarina instead of Laurena. But Laurena is still lurking in the background. It sure makes me rather curious as to what still awaits in this engaging epic adventure fantasy series by author HC Harrington Especially considering the humdinger cliffhanger Final Blessing ended in.
Enjoy.

Thank You HC Harrington for the cope of Final Blessing. It's my first novel by you. I found it a fast pace novel and you bring the story alive how you show each character and the scene they are going into. How magical it is. How they try an fight to save the unicorn. My heart broke when it died. But I'm sure you not finished with the unicorns yet. This is the first book in your series so there's still alot of adventures to be had. This novel shows courage, honor, sacrifice and how together they try stay safe. Awaiting the next novel in the series. If you love fantasy novels give H c Harrington novels a go you won't be let down.

I came to this as a complete newbie to this series and I have left fully intending to read the past adventures.

This is obviously written as young adult stories and reads as such and may not suit older adults, unless like me you enjoy YA and Adult fantasies. This is an easy to read story and fairly exciting.

I did feel peoples deaths who were supposed to be friends were glossed over a little too quickly and they move on and get on with it. But still recommend.

I enjoyed this book very much. It was well written and kept me interested. Do unicorns really exist? Or are they truly just a myth. Read and find out.

This is a very interesting read. I was hooked and I was so disappointed when the book ended. The characters were well developed and plotted well and the world the author has created works well. I am going to be interested in what happens next.
