The book provides a synthesis of the development of the genre of national history writing in Europe, in particular it seeks to illuminate the relationship between history writing and the construction of national identities in modern Europe.
Stefan Berger is a Professor of Social History at the Ruhr University Bochum. He specializes in nationalism and national identity studies, historiography and historical theory, comparative labour studies, and the history of industrial heritage.
Well written and really impressive how many different national case studies Berger has explored. I think almost every country/sub-region is mentioned and discussed.
Nogal droog.
