Rita Barret, a twenty-five-year-old socialite facing challenges after a terrible divorce, chose to become a surrogate mother. She delivered lovely, conjoined twin girls. Upon learning that the intended parents couldn't raise both babies, conjoined or not, they proposed separating them – one for themselves and one for Rita.

The twins grew up apart, unaware of each other's existence, until twenty years later when love goes awry, and a husband's desperate choice leads to a tangled web of mistaken identity!
