Tempted and Bound by Betrayal

Lauren

My father arranged a marriage for me when I was sixteen. Now that I’m close to my 18th birthday, I’ve been uprooted from my life to live closer to my fiancé, Lorenzo. Something my father forgot to mention is that I’m marrying a mafia boss! There’s no way out of this marriage; I’ve tried. I’m supposed to be getting to know Lorenzo better, but I can’t seem to keep my eyes off Romeo, the bodyguard he assigned to me. It begins with quick glances and harmless flirtations but transforms into much more once we realize we have feelings for each other. Oh, did I mention Lorenzo considers Romeo his brother? I have a feeling if we want a happily ever after, it’s going to cost us everything.

Romeo

Lorenzo, my brother, my best friend, my don, assigned me to keep his fiancé safe. It’s a simple task, really, and not one that I wanted. So, what happens when she’s the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen, and I have to watch her 24/7? Yeah, I’m just a man, and not a good one at that. I continue to fight my feelings for her until it gets to be too much. She makes it clear she wants me, and I’m having trouble watching Lorenzo even be in the same room as her. So, it’s time to make a decision. Is our love story going to end as a tragedy, or will it end with the ultimate betrayal and sacrifice from both of us?

I'm still reeling!

First off, the plot twists! Holy moly, I did not see some of those coming. Christensen is a master at keeping you guessing, and the suspense was seriously off the charts. I was practically glued to the pages, desperate to find out what happened next.

The characters were also really well-developed. I felt like I knew them on a personal level, which made their struggles and triumphs even more impactful. And don't even get me started on the romance – it was steamy, intense, and just the right amount of angsty.

I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves a good suspenseful romance. It's a wild ride from start to finish, and I guarantee you won't be able to put it down.
Just a heads-up: There are some pretty intense scenes, so if you're sensitive to that kind of thing, you might want to proceed with caution.

Overall, "Tempt and Bound by Betrayal" was a fantastic read. I'm already looking forward to what S.N. Christensen writes next!

P.S. If you're a fan of dark romances, you'll definitely want to check this one out.

I was too read this as a ARC read. Sadly life got in the way and I wasn't able to read it. I've never been so sad about having to drop out of a ARC as I was when I realized what a great book this is. This needs to be added to your TBR and read ASAP. Just checking your trigger warning. What I amazing book!! Best have your box of tissues while reading this. Especially towards the end. Romeo was definitely book boyfriend worthy. My heartbroken for Lauren the emotional things she had to deal with. My heart broke for Lorenzo too. I loved Nico and really hoping him, Matteo and Lorenzo get there books too. I know those are gonna be emotional especially Lorenzo's. Spicy was probably a 🌶️ and a half.

My 2nd ARC review of 2025

Plot: solid at its foundation; certainly far fetched, but as I am Romantasy girlie at my core, a Mafia Billionaire Arranged Marriage seems reasonable 🤣

Characters:
1. MFC- was written pretty 1 dimensional and childishly portrayed - would like to see more depth in book 2 for her
2. MMC - he had more dimension but still flat
Overall, I think the chemistry is there they both just need their characters to be more developed in the next book

Length: It's too long. It could have been <250 pages

Overall, I enjoyed it but was left wanting more depth everywhere

This book was great! I’m usually not a romance person, but I loved the story of Lauren and Romeo! The author is so detailed, that you really feel their confusion, guilt, and love. It is very well written! It is a great easy read!

Such a great book. If you love the Romeo and Juliet vibes then this is definitely the book for you! Also love how the FMC is named Lauren but I might be a bit biased on that 😏😉

SO GOOD! I absolutely devoured this book in less than 24 hours. I was hooked on the characters and the storyline from page 1 and became emotionally invested in Lauren's story. After having read the fALLINg series, I couldn't wait to read this book and it did NOT disappoint. Could not put it down!!
