Allen Heras just landed his dream job, and he’s determined to make the most of this chance for a new life. Only there’s a problem: he can’t seem to stop lusting after his bosses. After suppressing his bisexuality his whole life, he can’t afford to let his hormones ruin his chances for success. Now, if he could just get his big head to convince the little one of that, he’d be just fine.

Sidri McKenna and Tatum McAlister have always known there was something missing between them: another man, one who could bear the love of two Doms. And they’ve chosen Allen to be that man. They’d always known it would be an uphill battle, convincing Allen that three people could make it in a long-term triad. But when the demons from Allen’s horrible past threaten their relationship, they realize that the real battle isn’t convincing Allen to love them---it’s convincing him he’s worth loving in the first place.

I think many people will love this ménage novel, as it is high on the smut level, and examines the lives of all three characters as separates and how they work together as a triad. However, there were several aspects that prevented me from personally loving it.

Allen is recruited by MM&M, the top advertising agency in the country as a photographer. Untrained and unsure of his worth, not only in his talent, but even as a functioning adult. He places a lot of blame on himself and anything wrong in his life; he believes he’s at fault completely. His two bosses, Tatum and Sidri, have been lifelong friends and eventually lovers. While Tatum and Sidri love each other as friends first, and on a soul mate level, they’ve always felt that something was missing between the two of them to ever fully commit. What they come to realize is both of them are Dominants and they need a third to be the Submissive in their relationship. And they believe fully that the third should be a man. When they find Allen, and are awed not just by his beautiful Columbian looks, but by his talent, his grace and kindness, they are determined to make him theirs. They wait two long years to approach him, and what unfolds is making Allen comfortable with both his bisexuality and with the idea of a permanent threesome, peeling back the layers to his hidden pain, and showing him that they love him unconditionally, whatever may be lying in his closet.

Some of the issues I had about all of this are while Sidri, and Tatum at times, explain to Allen the idea of dominants and submissives often it came across as one long-winded lecture or textbook explanation. They were the teachers and Allen the wide-eyed student, which I understand fits the plot, but very quickly it grew tiresome for me. In addition, while all three had been in love on some level for the past two years, the reader didn’t get to ‘witness’ any of it, so the quickly thrown out “I love yous” and instant “baby’s” appeared quick to me and in some ways trite.

Also, this is just me, but I’ve grown a little weary of all the angst-y backstories that pile one issue after the other onto a character that cause one dramatic display of emotion after the other.

And the issues just kept building in drama – first a fight, past abuse, genetic issues, public scandal, etc. And bookending each dramatic moment was sex, sex, sex, sex, sex, sex. I just…didn’t need all that. Like I said, some will LOVE this. Just personally, I’d preferred if everything had been dialed way back. I would have loved a simple story of these three people coming together and finding love and what works for them. I knew reading the blurb that wasn’t going to be this case, so I’m not necessarily faulting the book, but it just ended up not being exactly what I was hoping.

That said, the sex was hot and Tatum was the star of this book completely. Also while Allen and Sidri were hot, and the three of them even better, truly the best parts of this book were Tatum and Allen’s relationship and alone times.

Overall, I think if you want a hot and angst-y (very angst-y) ménage book, you might really enjoy this one. However, if you don’t have a high tolerance for broken men with sad backstories, I’m not sure this would be the book for you.

This is one of the best mmf ménages I’ve read in a very long time. I found it really hard to believe this was a first attempt by this author.

The story starts out somewhat slowly, with a few quick flashbacks to show how Allen came to be in his current position from where he started as a new hire two years earlier. I’m not generally a fan of flashbacks, but they work here and only really happen in the beginning stages.

Allen Heras was basically recruited by MM&M, a top marketing firm, for the raw potential they saw in his creativity and skills as a photographer. He was basically untrained, with little to no schooling. He didn’t even finish high school. But recruit him they did, although it was by chance that he just happened to apply for a job in the company since he had unwittingly not responded to any of their communications up to that point.

So, the company is run by two of its bigwigs, Sidri McKenna and Tatum McAlister. Allen feels a strong attraction to Sid, as does Sid with Allen, but they keep things under wraps for a good two years as their friendship and working relationship grows. During this time, Tatum has been behind the scenes having had to fill in for someone in their London office.

Sid and Tatum believe Allen is the perfect third for them. They have a major plan of action, but it is finally put in place by Sid when she pushes things a bit further with Allen. When Allen and Tatum finally see each other face to face, the attraction is immediate and strong. However, Allen has some major issues, one being his closeted bi status. He takes a lot of convincing to give the threesome a chance.

Allen is such a sweet soul. He is gorgeous on the outside but feels quite the opposite on the inside, mostly due to his horribly evil and bigoted televangelist parents. He ran from them at the age of fourteen and has been on his own ever since, so he has had it pretty rough. He was completely up front about his past, or he tried to be, with Sid when she hired him, but she insisted his past didn’t matter, that they only cared about his future.

Sid is wonderful with Allen. She and Tatum have been friends with benefits since they were old enough to do so. They realized long ago that they could never really be what the other needed mainly due to their both having such dominant personalities and appetites. And then, Tatum is bi as well, so that put a wrench in their being a happy couple. But, over the years, they have experimented and learned exactly what they needed – a third who is also a submissive man.

All this talk about dominants and submissives would lead you to think this is the usual BDSM story. It is not. There is very little of that, in fact. It is mostly about control, with Sid and Tatum both needing to be the ones controlling. Turns out that Allen is perfect for them, and it was lovely to watch them show Allen that side of him and nurture him to become comfortable with everything.

I have to admit that while I enjoyed Sid and Allen together, Tatum stole the show. Tatum and Allen together were unbelievably hot stuff! There were really no jealousy issues here either. Tatum had some issues of his own due to previous men not actually wanting a relationship with him making him fear rejection from Allen, but they were dealt with and the three remained equal members of the triad, except for Allen when his past crept back to haunt him.

I really could go on and on, but this is already getting long. Suffice to say that I really enjoyed this. It was extremely refreshing with Sid being such a strong female character. At the same time, whenever I sensed things were about to go over the line of cheesiness, they just didn’t. There were a few niggling things here and there that kept this from that final ½ star, but overall, I thought it was fantastic.

I am really glad I picked this one up and am super excited to see it’s the first of a series. I have a feeling Ms. Ayers will be an auto read for me if this is any indication.

For fans of MMF erotic romance, there's not much better out there than DEMONS WITHIN by Rhiannon Ayers. This is the first book I've had the pleasure of reading by this talented author, but it definitely won't be the last.

Allen Heras can't believe he's been promoted to Director of Photography at his advertising firm. Allen's start in life was nothing but horrific, but thanks to his bosses, Sidri McKenna and Tatum McAlister, he's started believing that he could do the job. Unfortunately, Allen's going to have to quit, since he clearly can't control his outrageous attraction to both Sidri AND Tatum, and that's going to be a problem. Allen has shoved away his bi side for years, but now that it's decided to return with a vengeance, he knows that he's got to leave before he humiliates himself by walking around with a pool stick in his pants 24-7.

Sidri and Tatum have been friends since they were children and lovers since they were old enough to do so. But even as much as they adore and love one another, they couldn't ever share a real relationship together, as their mutual dominant tendencies are explosive. Sidri's known since hiring Allen two years ago that he was the one...the one that she and Tatum would share...the one that would make them complete. But neither anticipate just how deep Allen's demons reside. Will they be able and willing to help him overcome his self-loathing and insecurities?

DEMONS WITHIN is book 1 in the For the Love of Authority series by Ms. Ayers and can be read as a standalone novel. I sincerely wonder exactly how she is able to write such incredible man-on-man action, because I was absolutely panting with approval throughout this story! Gorgeously written and emotionally fierce, the first encounter between Tatum and Allen is truly something worth reading...repeatedly. And how much do I love Sidri!? She's crazy confident, intelligent, honest, caring, protective and loves freely and fiercely. She's not afraid of her feelings and goes for what feels "right" to her. I ADORE her!

Tatum fought his own demons, mainly due to rejection of past lovers he and Sidri have enjoyed. But his insecurity is nothing compared to the gut-wrenching things that Allen goes through, not even close. Just when I thought his past couldn't possibly get worse, Ms. Ayers made it even darker, sadder and more emotionally dark than ever. And you just know that there are so many teenage runaways who face these things everyday and there are always people willing to help them fail over and over again.

DEMONS WITHIN has everything to give you a severe case of "the feels"--incredible sex, a heart-wrenching story line and deep, all consuming love that shall set you free.

Wow… I’ve read many books in my life, but I’ve never ever read anything this intense, loving, refreshingly different, and so explicit. There are many points that made this story so enjoyable and refreshing for me:

1) There are two dominant characters in the story and one of them is a female
2) The two males are bisexual
3) Three of them love each other unconditionally, with total empathy and adoration
4) The things they do together are very sensuous and sizzling.

Demons Within helped me understand more about the dynamics in a D/s relationship. I love how Ms Ayers explains D/s relationship through female Domme Sidri's discussions with Allen. Sidri lovingly taught Allen how he, as a submissive person, is in control of the relationship as much as his Dominant partners. As a result, I really enjoyed reading this story… It is just so beautifully written with some psychoanalytical parts that fit seamlessly with the plot and dialogue.

My only issue with Demons Within is the theological discussion in the beginning; I feel religious discussions are very subjective and can be touchy. This is especially true when one is reading erotica and doesn’t quite expect to see it. Religion is really personal and can be off-putting if a reader isn’t willing or able to get past the topic and appreciate the overall story because they’re caught up in the theological issues. When present in “standard” romance stories, it’s not as jarring because those are usually more about character development and their relationships, rather than the sexual aspect of the relationships, so it makes more sense to me. But I tend to think that erotic romance is more effective when it leaves religion alone unless it’s integral for plot development for some reason. But like everything else here, that’s just my opinion!

That little bit aside, I loved this story! Allen, Sidri and Tatum are lovable characters with wounded hearts and beautiful personalities. My favorite is Tatum, but you need to read the story to know why. I will say he is just wonderful and sexy.

Sentimental hogwash!

This story could have been greatly improved without all the joyous crying and emotion. Nobody acts like that--though perhaps it's just my Scandinavian/British heritage coming through.

Allen, a former teenage runaway and prostitute, is making a name for himself in the photography world and Sidri McKenna and Tatum McAlister have hired him to work at their firm.

But Sidri and Tatum are hopeful that Allen will want more from them than a professional relationship. They are two sexual dominants looking for a bisexual male to complete their personal relationship.

Allen is interested, but has so many demons and so much baggage, he's sure they will not want anything to do with him once they know his true identity and past.

Can Sidri and Tatum convince Allen to trust that their love for him is real and that his past makes no difference to them?

Although I liked the story, it took me forever to read because I kept getting turned off by the excessive sentimentality. I have bought the second book in this series, and hope it will be better.

This book began with Allen being found to do a Job at a large company. His dream come true job. Then it showed as he grew in to he position. And be very Attracted to Sidri Then Tatum as well. This story was not anything I thought at all. I understood that it would be menage but it was so much more.
There were so much battle for Allen. Him dealing with his feelings from his past. His Demons I should say. And Trying to not run away from his present. He fell in Love with 2 beautiful people yet his parents taught him that type of love is wrong. How does a man get pass the beliefs something is wrong to accept the love of his life.
This book did keep me entwined in these three peoples story. The battle from whats right and wrong to me was the obvious choice. It offered love, Romance, drama, hurtful people, and some smokin hot sizzling sex.

Loved this book! First, it kept me on my toes. Often, I can guess what's going to come next in a book, but that wasn't at all the case with Demons Within.

I also liked that the book had a strong heroine. Sidri has it all together and knows how to take care of her men. She, referred to as sex incarnate, brought the two men she loves together and made the threesome incredibly hot.

The characters in this book were well developed, and I really had a feel for the emotions each character felt. This is important to me because while I do want hot sex, I don't want JUST hot sex. But make no mistake, the sex is plenty hot--get the fans, cold showers, or toys ready!

I was very impressed with this author's debut novel. Book 2? I'm all over it.

Rhiannon Ayers has exploded onto the scene!

This is a thoughtfully crafted story that engages the reader throughout. I became emotionally charged within the first few pages, and didn't want to put the book down for a second. This is what any reader loves in a story - a real page turner! An intimate trio that journey through exploration and growth, characters that have breath and life, a travel down forbidden paths; this is far more than one would expect from a new author.

I look forward to reading many more books in this saga from Ms. Ayers. A wonderful read!

I enjoyed this MMF story.
One complaint, I would have liked Allen to have found some closure with his biological mother or at least tried.

I am at a loss for words. I'm an avid African American Romance novel fan but I must admit this book took me by surprise. Never in my wildest dream would I have even imagined myself loving this story. My heart just wept for Allen throughout this book. His torment, His self hate, His longing desires. He was the sweetest soul you could ever encounter. The love he found with Sidri and Tatum was exactly what he needed to overcome his demons.

Usually when reading books about BSDM relationships you automatically think of whips. caning, handcuffs etc, etc but this story was truly a breath of fresh air. I read it in one sitting!!! Sidri and Tatum were an AWESOME couple. Full of Love, Passion, Understanding, Longing and Patience. You could feel the love they had for Allen leaping off of each page!!!

The characters were GREAT but I must admit as much as I loved Allen's character and all of his complexity I absolutely LOVED, LOVED, LOVED Tatum!!!! Although I have never envisioned reading a book about W/M/M relationships the passion between Allen and Sidri was HOTT but the passion between Allen and Tatum was FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRE but the 3 of them together was an all out NO HOLD BARRED INFERNO!!!!

This book is a good read and very heartfelt in my opinion. A testament that love holds no bounds and when given unconditionally it can HEAL, CALM and RESTORE even the most savage beast within.

I was immediately drawn into this story and I could not put it down. I finished it in one sitting. A great story about the struggle of ones demons inside them while realizing that the things you thought were wrong, can be extremely right. I loved reading about how Sidri taught Allen about himself, without telling him who he was and allowed him to find out for himself. "As long as you, yourself, don't feel like something wrong is happening, then nothing wrong is happening". The connection between Allen, Sidri and Tatum was strong, sexy and emotional. The need that the three of them have for one another is amazingly loving and sexy. Looking forward to reading the next book, "Angel Without".

This wasn't a bad read, and certainly had it's share of sexy moments, but it was very dry in parts, and the character development was problematic (with jumps and leaps, rather than natural progressions). Also, the drama was just too much, with each scene fighting to top the soap opera gasps of the scene before. On the plus side, while I'm not sure how a relationship could work long-term with 2 dominants, it was exciting to watch them equally explore a bisexual submissive.

Torn between love and hate

There was a lot that I liked. There was two things I didn't like. This was supposed to be a triad but besides friendship you never see anything between Sid and Tatum. The second was way to much self loathing. It seemed like that was 65% of the book. The writing flowed beautifully. You could feel the connection. I will try another book by this author
