I just finished Hostile Work Foreplay by Vixa Vaughn, and I really enjoyed it! I'd give it a 4 out of 5 stars. It's a well-done workplace romance, and I was definitely invested in Colin and Kinsley's story.

The book sets up this great enemies-to-lovers dynamic between Colin and Kinsley, who are basically rivals at work. They're constantly bumping heads, and there's definitely some tension there, but it's clear from the beginning that there's also an underlying attraction.

Things really start to heat up when they're forced to work together on a campaign. As they spend more time together, they start to see each other in a new light. They get past the initial animosity and begin to appreciate each other's strengths and personalities.

I was really drawn into Colin and Kinsley's story. Their interactions were engaging, and I liked watching their relationship evolve from rivalry to something much more. The author does a good job of building the tension and creating some steamy moments.

The book description mentions a power outage that traps them in an elevator, which is a great scene that really sets the stage for their changing dynamic. It's a classic trope, but it works well here.

The writing is engaging, and the story flows smoothly. It's a quick and fun read that kept me entertained from beginning to end.

The only reason I didn't give it a full 5 stars is that I felt like some aspects of their personal lives outside of work could have been explored a bit more. The focus is primarily on their interactions at the office, which is understandable given the setting, but I would have liked to see a little more depth to their individual backstories.

Hostile Work Foreplay is a really enjoyable workplace romance with a great enemies-to-lovers dynamic.

They are office nemesis always bumping heads, but things change when they are placed together to work on a campaign. As they spend time together, they get an inside look at the caliber of person they really are with each other and feelings begin to blossom. Will their newfound relationship lead them along the path to a happily ever after. Colin and Kinsley kept me glued to the pages.

Rivals to collaborators

Work competition can get mean and nasty. Brooke and Colin go at each other hard without thought to how their situations are different. The promotion they each felt they deserved ends in a humbling yet hopeful solution.
I'm glad they eventually got to know each other and fell in love. Their antics was a bit annoying. Overall a good workplace enemies to lovers story.

Loved the chemistry between the two MCs. Having to keep hearing the MMC called a “trust fund baby” and the MFC continuously throw the lack of diversity and equity at the reader was a bit much. Not that either of these things were untrue…covert racism is real, but it just made the MFC seem flat and two dimensional since there were no instances of it happening in the actual story to backup her overwhelming workaholic nature.

Also, there was one story line that just got dropped and never resolved with a want to be suitor that just didn’t sit right. He was a threat and as much as the MFC wanted to take care of herself, this guy is still out there with his sights on her.
