My stepbrothers are known for three their speed on the ice, their skill with a puck, and the size of their... ‘sticks.’ The Drayton triplets are the hottest players in college hockey, and every girl at Eastern U wants a taste. Not me. I knew them back when they were just three angry, rebellious boys with something to prove. We were family once, but I doubt they even remember their ex-stepsister or would recognize the woman I am now. But when Jacob, the brooding, tattooed forward known for slapping pucks—and hearts—around, tries to charm me at a bar, I can’t deny the pull. Then there’s Shawn, the smooth-talking playboy goalie with a killer smile, who offers to help me stretch at the campus gym. And Hayes, the quiet defenseman with an intensity that speaks volumes, who steps in to defend me when a football player crosses the line. It isn’t until my best friend drops my name that they realize who I am. I expect them to back off, but instead, the brothers come at me full-force, like I’m the last spot in the NHL draft. There isn’t a challenge they’re not determined to win—even when that challenge is their curvy, off-limits ex-stepsister. I’ve spent my life playing by the rules, and falling for any of Eastern’s F-boys is so far off-limits it’s almost laughable. But the real problem? They have no idea I'm the creator behind Icing the Cake, the infamous social media channel, or that I'm responsible for much of the negative viral content that's driven their bad reputations. I can’t get them out of my head. Now, with my V-card on the line and the season heating up, I’m fighting an uphill battle against their sinful bodies, wicked grins, and relentless charms. I know their moves, and I know their playbook, but they don't really know me. And if they find out my secret? Everything will be pucked. I think this might be my favourite Stephanie Brother book yet! I fell so much in love with these characters, especially Riley. I don't think I've ever wanted to be friends with a character so badly in my life! And I want to watch her show! Icing the Cake sounds like so much fun and like something that's right up my alley.
And hallelujah, MATURE CHARACTERS! No third act breakup because we all got together and had an actual conversation instead of flying off the handle. Huzzah! God bless Stephanie for giving me this. I think that was my favourite scene of the entire book.
I'm a complete sucker for hockey romances, and Pucking Huge was done so well. From the one-liners to the playboy players to the on-ice action, this story had it all! I think sometimes the actual hockey aspect of the hockey romance can get a bit lost or less focused on, so I was glad to see plenty of games and descriptions of plays.
This was a winner for me. It's a big book, for sure, but so worth the read!
Loved the book, and the characters loved Jacob.most of all, Riley was great too, and I love her confidence and everything Stephanie Brother writes. It is amazing how great she is I just wish when she does bonus parts you could actually get them I have tried 6 different ways and can't get it and so it's like I didn't get to read whole book I would pay for bonus if it meant I got to read it please figure this out
I really liked this story! Riley and the guys Hayes, Jacob and Shawn are wonderful!! I definitely feel they’re great for each other!! I’m very happy that Jacob got the help he needed!
As usual an excellent read from Stephanie. The usual reverse harem with the sports feature, a lucky lady and trouble in between. A great read throughout, great storyline and awesome characters.
I’m in a hockey phase at the moment, so was excited to read this. I really liked the 3 guys for the harem. However, the fc was annoying. She expected the guys to be honest with her and not keep secrets, even if it was from their past. However, she herself wouldn’t be honest with them about a pretty big secret that she was still keeping from them that she was still doing that did impact them. Still worth a read but.
Better than I thought it would be . I can tell so much work went into this in some ways ,the episodes about the cooking and hockey gossip and the comments . The descriptions of the play by play when they’re playing hockey ( though in from the south and we don’t really play it down here ) . It sounds good . But the characters felt a bit weak and Riley’s motivations don’t really make sense . I mean triplet’s make some mean comments once hen they don’t even know she’s there ? Teenage boys hurting over the loss of their recently deceased father ,ONCE say mean but basically true stuff about her baggy clothes ,frizzy clothes and glasses ? Not everyday. Not as they were hurting and or harassing her on a daily or weekly basis. No history of harassment or abuse or bullying or anything really . Just mean comments behind her back as a one off . When she was like 10 or 11. But here she is 8 years later , 8 YEARS!!! Now 18/19 years old and she’s still angry and carrying a grudge over it ? Girl, I’m sorry but that’s more of a you problem . You should have long been over that . Three boys you never bonded w/, only shared a house with, said some mean things about you ,not even to your face , and your still hot about it 8 years later ? Your fictional school should have free counseling. Go check it out . I know books/ stories like this are more about sex than plot usually and that’s ok. Really it is . Sometimes that’s what you want . And after getting out of a long book slump ( almost two years) and being disappointed w/ the last book I just read, I was ok with that when Amazon suggested this book to me . But I couldn’t reconcile the really serious topic of one of the brothers traumatic brain injury ( not diagnosed yet but it’s easy to see coming) that is probably what killed their father and why he was so awful to them . With what I’d call “ magical thinking” as to why when the guys see Riley after all this time and they all have to suddenly have her . You’d almost think “fated mate” romantasy book. No one remembers her at first but they ALL have to have her .i was trying to get past that . To ignore how Riley is all B itchy spite one minute and all over one the next but when the silent quiet one is coming to blows with the one w/the undiagnosed brain 🧠 injury ( Hayes vs Jacob ) on the ice over her . I was yeah no. You can be shallow or deep. Maybe you can mix then but you have to do better then this . Fighting over a girl you literally barely know ,yet you all want to F and one is badly injured and doesn’t know it and This isn’t my lifetime movie .
This RH story is the best of what Stephanie Brother writes and that's saying something. Her books have all of the steam you could ask for but they have so much more! Pucking Huge is a really good story. It's filled with laughs and real character connections. The characters are 3 dimensional with flaws and emotions and saving graces who you will root for, want to smack or will cry for. The 3 men are so different...we have Hayes, who is quiet and so sweet, Shawn who is the Joker with a tender heart and Jacob who is carrying so much hurt in his cocky heart. Riley is gentle, sassy, sweet and so beautiful inside and out. The world building is flawless. It grabbed me from the first page (which had me laughing out loud) and just didn't let go. One of my favorite passages " If anything, its more like abstract art. You've got to squint to figure out what's going on, and even then, you're pretty sure you don't like the look of it." I snort laughed! And let's not forget there is Hockey! There are a lot of RH authors out there but Stephanie Brother is their Queen. I always 1-click her books because I KNOW I will enjoy the book and read it over and over. I loved this book and I have no hesitation in recommending it!
There are so many layers to this story, and so much to enjoy!
These triplets are amazing hockey phenoms, driven to be the best in the sport. But what drives each of them is different, and certainly not what I imagined. Jacob has always been the driving force of the three of them, even when it's not in his best interest. Shawn is the one who uses his charisma and amazing looks the most, usually to his advantage, while Hayes goes along (because that's what he does), while watching everything.
Riley was an awkward child when she met them (when her father had a relationship with their mother), but she formed opinions about them, that morphed into dislike. I enjoyed the layout of this story! Her vlog was very entertaining, and I could see how it would be quite cathartic, posting what you want to say, with anonymity.
This was an easy story to read. I empathized with the characters and their backstories, and I found it very addictive. It's certainly steamy, and everything we enjoy from this author. I recommend this read, this author, and encourage you to enjoy others in her catalog of work. I received a complimentary copy of this book (thank you) and happily leave my review.
First off, this was supposed to be enemies to lovers and I just didn’t get that feeling from this book.
Yeah Riley didn’t like them but it was because of something from 8 years ago…
Honestly, it kinda fell short on that trope.
Also, it’s a stepbrother romance. Yet the parents of the amain characters aren’t married… I’m not sure if they ever were married, but it fell short on that trope as well. I expect when I read stepbrother romances that it’s brought up a decent amount, usually the fmc struggles with it, then they tell the parents. Who are either okay with it or are heavily against it. Just didn’t hit.
It kinda felt like Stephanie wrote the book and didn’t know where to put it so she chose the “huge” series and then added the stepbrother trope or lost sight of it by the ends.
Back to the enemies to lovers (maybe??) I thought for sure when Jacob hit on Riley and eventually we would find out that something happened and he hated her or blamed her or whatever (hence the enemies part) and with Jacob putting her “off limits” I really thought there would be more push back from him instead of basically immediate agreement. It just felt weird.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story and found the underlying tone of indecision and hurt, feeling and all out cockiness of sports people an interesting take on life as a college student. Jacob, Shawn and Hayes Drayton are triplets who are on their college ice hockey team and known as the biggest players who are following in their famous father’s footsteps. Little does anyone know, everything is not as sweet and wonderful as it seems, Jacob is having headaches, and Shawn is having doubts about the way he is living his life and Hayes is not the player that his brothers are and how he wants a different life than his brothers. Then comes Riley Johnstone who has a Instagram channel that picks apart the hockey players and their performances on and off the ice. once upon time they were siblings until Riley’s father left their mother, now they are college students who have to face what others do, working out their place in life and their careers that they want to have.
I was given an advanced copy of this book to read and I am reviewing with my honest and fair opinion.
Once again, Stephanie has delivered a fantastic read! Riley is spunky, sassy and bold. She knows what she wants and what (or who) she doesn’t want and goes for it. The strength she shows throughout the book is amazing. She might be young and innocent but she is definitely not weak. Shawn, Jacob and Hayes are hotter than sin hockey players. They are such broken, wonderful guys, you just want to hug them and then kiss (or more 😉) them. They fall hard and fast for Riley, as much as they really don’t want to. They sure do know what to do in the bedroom too. I mean, there’s three of them and they’re packing and they know how to use their sticks! My favorite is their banter. They are such brothers 😂. Constantly teasing each other and trying to one up each other. The plot is amazing too. There were parts where my heart actually broke, especially for Jacob. His growth was amazing. And Shawn and his wise cracking mouth! And Hayes and his sweetness and romance. I can keep rambling on here or you can just go read it. I recommend you do.
I was excited to read this because: a) triplets ... because why not? They're brothers, and there are three of them. I think my eyes just crossed, lol! b) guys into sports - there is just something sexy about watching them skating on the ice (in my head) and the excitement and adrenalin rush when they are up against a good team. Hockey can get rough, but so can they. Meow! c) they've got history. They aren't new to the concept of being steps, which means that the physical attraction has been there for some time but suppressed. d) the drama of the socials! This was not an issue that would even have been possible back in the day.
It all made for a titillating story that had me holding my breath, laughing at times, and quickly turning pages to know what would happen next.
DNF 16% Maybe it was just me but the characters seemed immature at best. Minus Hayes the triplets were just fboys that couldn't keep out of a hole, gross. I get some athletes might be players but making it sound like every athlete is because of testosterone or well its a guy thing was just silly to me. Riley was ok but when it came to her channel it seemed like just a way to trash on the brothers. Up to where I stopped the reason given for her harsh treatment towards them was because when she was thirteen they hurt her feelings that sounded like only a one time thing, talk about holding a grudge. This book, to me, was just a silly immature read up to where I stopped, there are better books out there to read, hard pass.
Riley is a freshman in college and she has an anonymous vlog that showcases baking recipes and pairs them with hockey advice/criticism. Her favorite hockey players to target are the Dayton brothers: Jacob, Shawn and Hayes, triplet hockey phenoms that were once her stepbrothers. These four are electric together, but Riley is stuck in the past, when she overheard the brothers picking apart her 13 year old self. As the relationship between the four of them deepens, their unusual arrangement gets the spotlight and Riley doesn’t cope very well. When the brothers find out she’s behind the vlog that often tears them apart, emotions erupt. However, they realize they are stronger together and they own who they are. This a great, steamy read that I truly enjoyed.
The Drayton triplets are hockey gods on campus and former "step brothers" due to a relationship between their mother and Riley's father. Jacob, Shawn, and Hayes are a couple years older and kings of the college campus being hockey players. Riley is a freshman with wounds from their shared childhood. However, she has changed in the years since they have seen each other, but she is still familiar to them, until they slowly figure out who she is. Each trying separately to get to know her again and possibly date her. Throughout their getting to know each other again, a relationship starts to grow, but with secrets finding out what will happen makes this a read you don't want to put down..
I generally don’t enjoy college romance but this one I did. Riley knows the Drayton triplets as her mean ex step-brothers. She was just a kid but their treatment left a lasting impression. In college, she runs an anonymous, secret social media channel where she shares her love of hockey and baking. She manages to avoid the triplets on campus. The Drayton triplets, Jacob, Shawn and Hayes, are hockey gods on campus, and are well known with ladies. When they finally come face to face with Riley, they have no idea who she is. Riley wants to keep it that way. The guys are intrigued by her. Doesn’t take long for Riley to get caught up in the guys. They figure out who she is quickly and they can’t stay away. As they get closer, secrets are revealed. But, will these secrets tear them apart or bring them closer? Good storyline. Good characters. And an abundance of hot and spicy scenes.
This is part of the Huge series, but the first with an Ice Hockey theme and I could not stop reading. I have read a few Ice Hockey themed books lately and this is fast becoming a favourite trope.
I loved the energy of Riley and the parts with her web cast had me laughing. The triplets have it all, Jacob is brooding, Shawn is the joker but sensitive and then Hayes, the protector. They are struggling to live up to their late fathers legacy, but Riley comes back into their lives and helps them see that they are more than their father.
I look forward to each of Stephanies books and have not been disappointed with any. A perfect way to escape.
Riley (FMC) and the Drayton triplets - Jacob, Hayes & Shawn have a background that have tainted Riley's views of them. It didn't help that at some point they were hr stepbrother (which is why she holds the views she does) even if it wasn't for long. All of which led to her making a critical, cutting but funny vlog which helped her vent. Only for things to become complicated when they start a very steamy relationship together. Loved the brothers but I had a soft spot for Hayes. He was protective as well as sweet as hell. This book was not what I expected but I liked that it wasn't. Great characters as well as a cracking read too.
These are like the romance equivalent of potato chips to me. They’re my nice little junky snack 😆 They go quickly for me and are just a fun, light, hot read. They aren’t masterpieces and some things are a bit meh (sometimes more than a bit) but they also just have some sort of quality that really draws me in and I can’t even really tell what that is exactly. I guess I must just like the characters and dynamics, I end up just really wanting to go along for the ride and see what happens with them all. Anyway, this latest is no exception - fun, hot read but I also wouldn’t put high expectations on it.
Stephanie has written another incredible book about a brave, sassy and curvy young lady who has started her own website where she mixes baking with hockey. But she does it anonymously. So when she adds in little tidbits about the 3 brothers who almost were her Stepbrothers. She overheard them talking about her when they were teens and heard about their off the ice antics and used them for some comedy. But when they see her and realize who she is they want to reconnect. These 3 triplets are all as different as can be but they have all grown up and have turned in to amazing young men. All of the characters are incredible and the way that the story flows keeps you interested.
I was in a bit of a slump. While I love dark romance, I was looking for something lighter. This book was amazing as all are Stephanie Brother books. I’m not a big taboo reader, so this fit nicely as they were barely step siblings and at a super young age and lots of time had passed. You get fully formed characters that make real adult decisions despite being in their early 20s. This is RH triplets that couldn’t be more different, multiple POVs which is always appreciated, what would be enemies to lovers on her part I would guess, a baking/hockey social media darling, and some super understanding side characters.
What an absolute joy to read! For her first hockey book, Stephanie really hit it out of the park! Such a fantastic storyline and the characters were absolutely amazing! They all were so real and down to earth with problems just like every day people. This story really brings out the feelings at times. I loved the dynamic between them! This story kept me captivated from beginning to end and I didn’t want to put it down! Very highly recommend! This is my honest opinion of this complimentary copy of this book
OMG, LOVE THE HUGE SERIES... Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 February 2025 I don't normally write to many reviews as I can't wait to read the next book in the series. I'm a speed reader so I'll demolish a book in no time, this was NO acception. I couldn't put it down, I love that not only does the story line keep me hooked, the humour makes me laugh out loud but the sex scenes make MY toes curl. 😂🫶🏻🍆 WELL DONE Stephanie on another book well done... 🎉🥰💜🫶🏻 PLEASE KEEP THE HUGE SERIES GOING... 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻😘
I don’t know if something has changed with this authors writing, or something has changed with me, but Stephanie Brother’s books just aren’t hitting for me like they used to. This book could have been 150 pages shorter, and replaced all the internal monologue with action and dialogue. Despite the long length and multiple POV, I still felt like I did t get to see enough character development or romance. I might have to hiatus from these books for a while.
Also, DVP with no prep and no friction reduction is straight up violence. Not spicy, not attractive, not cool.
Keep Your Stick on the Ice What a great book. Truth is sometimes hard to handle and being truthful is sometimes hard to be! When Riley decides to work out her painful past by starting a blog, she Never expects it to take off the way that it does or that it will hurt others in the process. The Dayton Brothers, Jacob, Shawn and Hayes are larger than life brothers on and off of the ice. Hockey is their life until a feisty little blast from their past shows them that reality isn’t always what we want it to be. Several unexpected twists and lots of things to sit back and ponder!
This was an overall good book with a lot more plot than I was expecting. The overall theme/trigger was living in the shadow of your mentally abusive famous hockey playing father. The guys were struggled with that mentally throughout the entire book. However, I don’t give them a pass for how much they slept around in this book. There were quite a few descriptive scenes of two of them getting it on with girls other than the FMC. Yes, we get that they are playboys, but these scenes could have been cut.
I voluntarily reviewed an ALC of this book. Riley has a little secret that might get her into some serious relationship-trouble with her former step-brothers, but, you know - being young and needing the money. Anyway - unfortunately, it’s the first story I couldn’t quite get into. Might has something to do with all the hashtag-here and hashtag-there, which I know belongs into sharing stuff online, but it got a little unnerving as the episodes got going. Nevertheless, all in all a nice story, but this one wasn’t convincing. Though, narrated smooth and perfect.
Pucking Huge, book 13 of the HUGE series by Stephanie Brother @stephaniebrotherbooks. I love Stephanie’s books & this one was excellent! This was my very first series that I read from Stephanie! 💜
This was a fantastic book about Riley, Jacob, Shawn & Hayes! Tropes: Contemporary, Reverse Harem, Step Brothers, College Hockey, Curvy FMC, Virgin MCs, Ex-Step-Siblings, An MMC & A FMC are both hiding a secret, Family & HFN!
I absolutely adored this book!!! It’s one of my favourite tropes. I am generally a fast reader but found myself slowing down not wanting it to end. Our fmc Riley is a bundle of sass and totes adorbs ☺️ and the draytons dear gawd 🫠(hayes may be my fav) I loved there journey in coming together a wonderful addition to the huge series I cannot wait to have it on paper back and I look forward to more of this trope from the author! Stephanie hands down smashed this trope and the 🌶️ was 😘
