Thank you to Angela Rita and Completely Booked PR for the arc!

The first 1/4 was kinda slow due to world building. But the last 3/4 was so good! I could not put it down. I will say I’m super upset about Finley!!!! 😭 I absolutely loved their witch friend! She was witty and fun.

I’m shipping Zadren and Ellia together. Brothers and a love triangle? I’m here for it if it happens. 😉 the cliffhanger??? I hope book 2 comes out soon!!! Overall, a fun read for a Romantasy lover!

4.5 Stars! This was sent to me as an ARC by the author. I could not put this book down. There was magic, fae, witches, mystery, action, and so much ore. I enjoyed the overall plot line. And the ending, has me questioning so many things. The author’s writing was effortless and immersive. Now I need to read the next book when it comes out! I really enjoyed this one!

Angela Rita's "Darkness and Divinity" proved to be an utterly absorbing literary experience that seized my full attention from its opening passages and maintained its compelling grip throughout. From the very instant I began turning its pages, I was fully immersed in its unique universe, finding myself utterly compelled to continue reading. This isn't merely a book one reads; it's a profound journey one undertakes.
The prose is not simply inviting, but remarkably evocative, conjuring vivid scenes and stirring powerful emotions that pull you deeper into the narrative with each progression. Rita demonstrates an exceptional talent for constructing a story that feels both grand in its scope and profoundly personal in its details.
Yet, what truly elevates this novel are its inhabitants. The characters are so intricately conceived and realistically portrayed, I felt every progression of their development, shared in their triumphs, and empathized with their hardships. I became profoundly invested in their complex paths, forging a deep connection to their destinies as though they were long-standing companions. Their depth and evolution stand as a testament to Rita's outstanding ability in character creation.
This is more than just a piece of fiction; it's an encounter that merits broad readership, widespread sharing, and extensive dialogue. It's precisely the kind of tale that resonates in your thoughts long after you've reached the conclusion, sparking reflection and lively exchanges.
My anticipation for the subsequent volume is already immense! I am eagerly looking forward to discovering where Angela Rita will lead these extraordinary individuals and their realm next. If you're seeking a novel that will sweep you away and hold you completely spellbound, "Darkness and Divinity" is an absolute essential.

🌶️🌶️

Y’all. When I first started this one, it hooked me and didn’t let go. Like, I was reading it while I was getting a tattoo because I was so invested in but then I looked at the pages left and started doing the book math and realized it was going to be all wrapped up by the end of the book and tried to savor it. Ten days. That was the absolute longest I could stretch it out, despite trying for longer. I didn’t want to leave the world that Angela built. I felt all the emotions in this, and I ended up crying at work because I snuck a couple chapters in during my break. This is a great debut novel, and I can’t wait to see where this story takes us!

❤️ Tropes ❤️

💋 romantasy
💋 princess/ royal guard
💋 epic adventure to save her kingdom from evil
💋 witches and fae
💋 slow burn (but it pays off!)

Ellia may be a princess, but that doesn’t make her exempt from the kingdom’s laws. She was born with magic, and females with magic are sent off to labor camps and never seen again or unalived. But her power is now fighting to get out, even with the daily suppressant tonic she drinks. She will have to find another way to get it under control before anyone notices. When she literally rubs into a royal guard while carrying a load of magic books she definitely shouldn’t have, she gains an ally. Albeit an annoyingly handsome one who irks her to the core. As they work to get her magic under control it soon becomes apparent that there is a dark force in her kingdom and everyone is in danger. But what can she do about it as a princess who was sheltered from everything?

Angela Rita’s Darkness and Divinity doesn’t just tell a story—it casts a spell. From the opening chapter, I was completely absorbed, drawn into a richly imagined world that held me captive until the very end. The narrative is sharp and immersive, with characters so authentic and multilayered that their struggles and triumphs felt personal.

This book isn’t your typical fantasy read. It’s the kind that lingers in your thoughts, stirring introspection and sparking conversation long after you’ve turned the final page. The emotional depth of the characters makes every twist feel earned, and their evolution is both believable and compelling.

If myth and magic call to you—especially tales of Fae realms, witches, dangerous enchantments, slow-burn romances, prophetic twists, and strong, curvy female leads—then this is one you won’t want to miss.

3.5 stars. I received an arc of this book. The first half of this book was a little slow to get into for me but the last half made up for it. I liked the world building and the premise of the story. The characters were interesting and I enjoyed the tension between Ellia and Cian and the friendships developed between Ellia and all the characters. I enjoyed reading as Ellia went from very sheltered to coming into her own. Finley was my favorite. I tend to gravitate towards the morally grey characters so I’m interested in Zadren and his story and kinda hoping for a love triangle with him and Ellia in the next book!

I don't remember the last time I was kicking my feet like a schoolgirl a day getting giddy about cross banter, but omg. Loved this book, loved the world building- it was done flawlessly and it felt organic. The tension building was also chef's kiss! fae, Witches, dark presence, and a man who makes calling someone "princess" sound sinful? Yes please ❤️ I smiled, I laughed, I cried, and I wanted to fist fight people at a couple points. Just AMAZING

The writing style is engaging and the characters are so well-drawn that I found myself genuinely invested in their journeys. Darkness and divinity deserves to be read, shared, and talked about. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for book 2!
