Letting Go #3

All Who Dream

Rate this book
Angela Flores is a survivor.

Struggling to rebuild her life after she was brutally attacked and left her for dead six years ago, Angie takes comfort in the quiet home life she’s created with her son Cody in the suburbs of Dallas. It’s a simple existence: managing a florist shop, leading a weekly recovery group, and blogging about the joys and challenges of being a single mom.

But simple just became a lot more complicated.

When Angie’s blog goes viral, the unexpected begins to happen. Suddenly, she’s signing with a publicist and heading to New York City for the summer, where she meets brooding bachelor Jackson Ross. Though she is drawn to the mysterious CEO of Pinkerton Press, her instincts are as unreliable as her heart.

She won’t fall victim to a man ever again.

Jackson is well-versed in the art of denial. His perfect facade has been nearly impenetrable—until now. When the details of Angie's past are targeted by scandal, Jackson urges her to confront her fear despite his refusal to do the same. But neither of them can move forward without first uncovering one vital truth...

That while some keep fighting to survive, all who dream will find the courage to live.

This book turned me into a human sprinkler.

Angie and Jackson's story of redemption is one that will warm your heart to its core and use up your entire supply of Kleenex tissues. All Who Dream is a testimony to hope in the darkest of times, no matter our pasts, or our circumstances.

So, instead of filling up this review with a bunch of positive adjectives and 'meaningless compliments' (as Jackson would say!), I'm going to share a quote that really connected with me from this book:

'When I was a young girl I believed that romantic love had the power to save. I saw it as the great remedy, the one cure that could fix all wounds and mend all hearts. But I didn't believe that anymore.

Sometimes love was not all we needed.

Sometimes it didn't cure our hurts.

Sometimes it wasn't the eraser of our mistakes.

Love is instead, the bridge that leads the broken to grace, hope, and redemption. Love is the greatest amplifier that God ever gave us. Our strengths are made stronger with it, and our faults are shown mercy because of it.'

How beautiful is that?!

Here is a book that shows us the true meaning of the word 'love'.

Love isn't the miracle cure that you pop at the end of a tale to give everyone a happy ending. Love can't dissolve the past, and excuse our mistakes.

Those things we need to do for ourselves - self forgiveness, self healing, contrition, etc. But love can aid us in becoming stronger people. Love can help us to start healing, to start living again. Unlike in many NA and YA books, where love is a lovely sandwich spread that is smoothed over everything to make it look prettier.

Angie discovers this and realises that each person needs to make the decision for themselves. Whether that is to forgive themselves, forgive others, or move on. We are the most important people in our lives - only we can make the decisions that form the person we can, and wish to, be.

All Who Dream is a deeply insightful and beautiful story, that reveals to readers the beauty in life and its mistakes...and, ultimately, the power of faith and hope.

I am a huge Nicole Deese fan. She could put out a 10 page, short story and I'd be first in line to buy it.
All Who Dream is Book 3 in the Letting Go series.
I was entranced within the first page and Nicole's writing never let me go.
We were introduced to Angie in All She Wanted, Book 2.
Angie is a single mother, who endured unimaginable horrors, but overcame them with faith and humility. She makes some choices that she believes are the best thing for everyone involved at the time, but learns that some things cannot be buried. Blogging and her son are her passions.
Jackson is a strong man and also CEO of a major publishing house who's endured tragedy of his own and is now jaded and bitter because of it.
When Jackson and Angie are thrust together on a book promo tour they are both surprised at the feelings the other invokes in them.
I LOVED the rollercoaster of emotions I felt and I really related to these characters and their lives.
All Who Dream is a fantastic story of second chances, overcoming obstacles, taking chances, faith, and love.
I highly recommend it and this is my favorite book in the series.
Please note, All Who Dream is an inspirational romance and is very clean, but the romance abounds.
If I could give this more than 5 Stars, I easily would.
On that note, read this series!

This was a 6 star book for me, which means it went beyond the "amazing" category and has gone into the "it touched my life" category! The story revolves around Angela, a single mom who shoots from being a single mom blogger to being picked up by a publishing company for a book/tour. She travels to NYC with her son, where they meet Jackson Ross, head of the publishing company. With any romance, the reader is not surprised to see a blossoming relationship developing between the rich/sophisticated Jackson and the "soccer mom". But this story is so much more than a simple romance. It is a story of learning to stand on your own, it is a story of overcoming domestic violence, it is a story about finding your voice, it is a story about overcoming shame, it is a story of family (not just those we are related to, but those who have taken us into their fold), it is a story of forgiveness. It is not a short novel - but neither is it too long. The author, Nicole, has taken the time to build histories with the characters. She allows us to really get to know Angie, Jackson, and all of the secondary characters that add so much to the story. I have highlighted so many passages in this book because they were so inspirational to me and I know will be to others. This author has now entered by "to be read" category and I am anxious to go back and read her previous work (and anxiously await her future work as well). I leave with a quote that any woman would love to hear from a man: "Every minute that I'm not with you, I feel as though I'm missing out on one of God's best kept secrets..."

Characters: so real. Emotions: crisp, soul-deep. Plot: tons of twists.

Loved this story. The characters are still haunting me. Even the side characters were a pleasure to read. I feel like I know them all so well. Loved the many layers of this story. I loved how both the hero and heroine had to learn essentially the same lesson, but their journeys were vastly different, coming from completely different places. I loved how sweet this romance was . . . deep, pure, real . . . and clean.

THe motivations for each character were well set. I believed every thing in the story. I love NYC, so it was great fun to camp out there for most of this book. It's a fun read for writers especially, because of the book tour, the publishing company insights, and the general fun surrounding one character's mystery series.

PLUS! Deese writes poetry. Good poetry. It's almost reminiscent of Possession by AS Byatt - poetry written by a character embedded in the fiction. She also writes fictional scenes written by another character. Great fun.

The dialogue is witty. The interactions, funny and very realistic. I'm sure this story will stay with me for a long time - I hope you'll give this new author a try. All Who Dream does not disappoint.

You better pick up a copy of this story - only $3.99 on kindle!

This is an overdue review that I've been meaning to write... To begin with, I've come to enjoy Nicole's style of writing! While I did enjoy ASW, clearly, AWD is a step higher (I haven't read AFA yet). It is a good mix of contemporary romance and the theme of brokenness.

There were two things that particularly intrigued me in AWD - the imagery and the poetry. I loved that the imagery used in the story could pull me in and make me stay. I can certainly see Tahereh Mafi's influence on Nicole's writing, which I think is incredible! The poetry is exquisite too! I think her use of the free verse style does in a way reinforce and, somewhere, symbolize Angie's freedom from domestic abuse and fear.

As for the characters, they were well crafted and developed. The romance was tender and beautiful. But it was the wit and humor that won me over. The banter between Angie and Jackson was enjoyable. It came as a comic relief, especially while handling the more heavier themes in the book. I think Nicole did a good job of weaving a wonderful story of love and redemption around a heartbreaking topic like domestic abuse - without compromising on either! The inspirational theme was quite good too.

On the whole, I loved it! The story stayed with me, and that's saying much :) Looking forward to reading more.

Hooray for the Letting Go series! Nicole Deese has done a fantastic job - again - with Angie's story in All Who Dream.

Although I felt Angie and Jackson's attraction was a bit insta-loveish, I was rooting for them the entire time. How much do I love Angie's son Cody? The interactions between him and Jackson are heart-warming. I love that Angie is a writer who is a little lost when her blog goes viral. (Being a writer myself, who isn't a little lost in this self-publishing world?) Jackson's family is also amazing, and we get to see a little bit of Briggs and Charlie from All She Wanted. Yay!!

All around, All Who Dream was a great vacation read! I'm so glad I had both All She Wanted and All Who Dream downloaded on my Kindle before I left for the back woods. I'm not sure what Ms. Deese has up her sleeve next, but I think a story about Jackson's sister would be fun ;)

Another four BIG BIG stars!

This was just a really fun story! Although the beginning took a little bit to smooth out for me, I'm glad I hung in there. Angie and Jackson have pretty great chemistry and the two of them just have this heightened awareness of the other at all times. I loved all their banter and the way they affected each other. But I especially loved the way Jackson befriended Angie's son, Cody. He knew how important Cody is to her and is so very gentle and wonderful. Plus they both have things from their pasts that must be dealt with. All this combined made for a sweet story that made me smile. :)

A..MAZ..ING!!!!!! This entire series has been fantastic. I so loved Angie's story...her message of hope resonates with all of us. As with all the stories in this series I especially love how Mrs. Deese weaves her faith and messages of faith into the story! That is not something you see often and its quite refreshing. We can all learn from Angie's story and her message. One of the most encouraging series I've ever read!! Thank you Mrs. Deese.

An exciting unpredictable journey, and a story of endurance after hurt and loss. This amazing mixture had me reading through this book in no time at all! I loved it and read it twice! Deese has done it again. What a beautiful ending to her trilogy "letting go". I recommend this to anyone as most of us have faced some obstacle in our life.... And of course I love a wonderfully written love story and this has it all!

From the opening pages of this book, I was captivated by the story of Angie and the mysterious Jackson. I could barely put it down and found myself the best kind of frustrated as I flipped through the pages, waiting for their stories to unfold. The author does a wonderful job of walking the characters through pain and heartache to find a place of hope, healing, and ultimately love. A really great read!

Loved loved loved this book! Nicole Deese is an author who knows a thing or two about character development and keeping a reader hooked! From the very beginning, she sucked me in and kept me wondering what would happen next. And Jackson Ross--loved him right away. The relationship between he and Angela was both tension-filled and sweet--the very best combination. Looking forward to reading the other two books by this talented author!

I LOVED this book and I just couldn't put it down! I'm such a Nicole Deese fan. I haven't read a book by her that I didn't love and I do believe I have a few more to read. Thank goodness Kindle Unlimited has them! My next book is already loaded and ready to go. I'm actually reading this series out of order but I don't think it matters too much.

Content: some violence (domestic violence), kissing

Romance, clean, some Christian elements (a plus for me!)
4.5 stars for me. Please know there are hints of spoilers as you read this.
Thank you for another beautiful read. I put aside everything on my plate and devoured this today. Angela and Jackson's story was such a wonderful treat to read. The goodness in Angela, her heart, her fears, her hopes for herself and her son Cody, and the magical future she made for herself after experiencing such trauma and violence was a beautiful story to read.
Her relationship with Jackson, her feelings and hopes, even as she struggles to decide that maybe she deserves happiness for her future was beautiful and gripping to read. N.D. definitely grips the reader with all the conflicting emotions, the fears, the hopes, the love that each character hopes for themselves. The other members of Jackson's family were a beautiful picture of family and hope, even in the face of hardships. Jackson's journey, his desire to be with Angie, but not feeling quite good enough for her due to his past tragedies, was so beautiful to see his hope and courage return.
Genuine, honest characters, with strong feelings for each other, but still a clean romantic read made this perfect for me. I am definitely hooked, and can't wait to read the other books in this series (I know I am out of order, but will look for anything she writes at this point!). Grateful to have discovered this author, and definitely a fan. Glad to have the 2 prior novels on my kindle to splurge with when I am done! Beautiful writing. The intense feelings of Angie, her fears, hopes and dreams. Living and loving with the courage and conviction to help others, and gain hope for herself was beautiful to experience.

Four and a Half Stars!
Someone recommended this Book and to be honest when I looked at the series as a whole, I just wasn't sure I was up for reading it (yet). I thought maybe the books would be a little depressing or too heavy on the drama/trauma side. Having read both Book 2 and now Book 3, I can tell you that I was SO pleasantly surprised. These novels have depth, yes touching on some hard knocks/wrong choices, but that in no way is what these novels are all about. They are about hope, redeeming, love and so much more. The romance is sweet and the characters are wonderful!

I had no trouble digging into this novel, but I did have trouble setting it down. I have to say that Deese has really done a good job in crafting not just a story and engaging characters but in weaving in truths, encouragement and just a tad bit more. This book takes you to a level above entertaining and it engages you in several facets... To understand what I mean you will just have to read it! I am gearing up to read Book 1, but I have to say, I do believe I have found a new author to add to my must read list!

*Note there are some typos, but not that many and they do not take away from the story. One of the most rememorable ones for me was towards the end where a character was referred to as a brother but the word should have been Father.

Nicole has a wonderful way of drawing you into her stories and then making them envelope you with their beautiful poignancy. This is how it was for me with her third book in the Letting Go series, All Who Dream. It took a mere page or two until I was wrapped up in the lives and emotions of her characters; their heartaches and fears, their joys and doubts. Once I was reeled in I just couldn't put it down. I became a part of the story as I read; my life wrapping around theirs with every vivid scene. The more I learned about Angie and Jackson, the more invested I became in discovering where their futures were going. From her delightful attention to descriptive detail to the well-woven and intriguing plot, Nicole guides us through an eloquent, thoughtful look at the trials and triumphs of a hurting heart faced with the possibility of Hope.
A delight from cover to cover. You should read it. Today.

I was so excited when I found out that there would be a story about Angie. I bond with side characters pretty easily.
As always Deese's writing is wonderful. I love her sense of humor and her dialogue. I love how her stories are always more than just entertainment. They have meaning in them, they touch our hearts and well as feed our book addictions. Deese always manages to deal with serious topics with the appropriate amount of attention. For instance, I can grieve for her characters but I am not depressed for five days after I read her novel. I come away with an understanding.
I would recommend this series (each one reads like a stand-along), especially to lovers of contemporary.
I loved the dynamic between the characters. Jackson was quite the heartthrob. :)

Cheers and Happy Reading-

I love this author! I wish she had more books! I love that her romances are clean but modern.... And not preachy. That is my complaint about " Christian romance"... I'm a Christian but I prefer to read about god in my religious books, not my fun fiction.....
This story was so sweet..... And kept me guessing.... I also love that this author doesn't have a "cookie cutter" writing style.... Often you read an authors books and they are basically the same model with different characters.... Each in this series is different. The plots change and the characters have different personality types. I really enjoyed it. 4.5 solid stars.

This is the first book I read by Nicole Deese and I fell in love with it. The story of a woman who has to work thru and overcome the scars left from both verbal abuse and physical abuse and the beauty of realizing she could still have love and was worth being loved. Then there is the man who has to work thru his own issues. Not a simple boy meets girl, boy and girl fall in love and live happily ever after, but still a beautiful story! Great Story

This is the 3rd book I have read by Nicole Deese and may well be my favorite! I loved the characters and I really loved how Deese painted a picture of the setting and all the different places in New York. The story line kept me engaged and always wanting to read more. The romance swept me away to and brought me into the characters world. I am excited to read more books by Nicole Deese!

Sometimes there's more to a book than just a good story, it somehow moves you and touches your heart. This was one of those books for me. I adore Jackson and Angie, they are open and real. In the story of each of our lives we have to choose whether we will come out the victim or the hero. This is a story of hope, overcoming obstacles and of choosing to be the hero.

Nicole Deese is one of my favourite new authors. This is the best of the 3 books so far and the others were so good! I would give this 6 stars. The characters are so realistic and believable. The connection is immediate and storyline so emotional. Yet through all the upheaval there is always a sense of hope and optimism which made reading these books an uplifting experience.

Heart-rending and joyous

Somehow I got the idea that this was another book in the Lenox series. Surprise! This was a very different kind of book, but no less satisfying than the others. The story started with the near-death of the main character and didn't slow down from there. There were moments that broke my heart and others that made me smile in spite of myself. The two main characters for well-developed, although I have to admit the other characters were not as clearly described. Well there are no clues in the pot for me to know some of the things that we're coming next, enough to feel proud of myself, I still kept reading to find out what was going to happen next, and getting surprised in the process. The romance was okay, but I gave this book five stars for the carefull crafting of the story and the skillful handling of deep emotional issues. And while I'm not a big poetry fan, I found the poems that were included in the book very well done. If you like books that move quickly along, with lots of interesting and sometimes unexpected twists and turns, you will love this book.

Angie is a single mom struggling to make ends meet whose blog becomes a hit. Suddenly on a whirlwind book tour about family, everything is going her way. But what hardly anyone knows - including her young son - is why she is a single mom. Her abusive ex-husband tried to kill her. Jackson is a man who has given up on his dreams to riun the family business. Guilt controls his life like fear and shame control Angie's.

This is wonderful novel and a terrific end to the series.

Family friendly though the domestic violence may not be for everyone.
