My sister’s wedding is in three days. So of course I’d find my first pack of alphas now. And of course her fiancé is one of them. HELP.

After a wild night at a bar where I end up dancing a three-way tango between two alphas, I have important facts to face (and so do they):

One: I’ve finally found my scent-matched alphas in a pair of childhood crushes I now can’t resist.

Two: their third pack-mate left the bar in a panic without so much as even touching me.

Three: I understand, because in the morning I re-meet Liam (runaway pack-mate) as my sister’s fiancé in my parents’ kitchen.

Four: Liam didn’t cheat. I didn’t screw anything up. But it certainly feels that way. And now we have three days to sort this mess or they won’t be getting married.

My sister already thinks I’m a disappointment. I won’t prove her right by taking my childhood crushes and their best friend as my alphas. But I will help her repair her relationship… even if she’s got secrets of her own.

KNOT MINE is a 20,000 word small town why choose romance novella with omegaverse themes but no shifter tendencies. It features a complex situation but a happily ever after for all, no cheating, and all the wholesome New Year’s Eve feels. Join Sage on her journey to find herself, repair her relationship with her sister, and find love all at the same time in this New Year’s Eve Omegaverse Novella.

Wow... I hated that.

I understood going into this that Liam was engaged to her sister, but the entire time I was reading this the thought of wanting to sleep with someone that your sister had been sleeping with (because obviously they did since they were engaged), is just so icky to me personally. Also, Sage's sister Celeste acknowledged that she knew that Liam had a crush on Sage when they were in high school with the additional knowledge that Sage had huge crushes on his packmates at that time too... and then subsequently dated him/got engaged with him years later... that's a solid slap in the face to your own sister if I ever did see one (especially since Celeste never even told Sage who she was marrying until the week of the wedding).
It actually gets worse too when throughout this entire story Liam kept saying how much he was in love with Celeste, and didn't love nor want Sage personally, it was only his alpha side that made him want her... and honestly that was a super big turnoff off for me because the whole point of this novel is to tell the love story of Sage, and yet the entire plot he literally didn't love or care for her at all, it just became an acceptance because Jasper and Atlas wanted her. Which is even more solidified when they shared literally no interaction with each other and the only time they ever even kiss is in the epilogue.

Then to top it all off, there is absolutely no explanation to the omegaverse within this. So Sage is an Omega while Liam, Jasper, and Atlas are Alphas. Celeste and their parents are anything (not omega, alpha, or beta). So like some people designated as something while most did not, with there clearly being a bit of distaste for Sage from her family because she was an omega. There was confusion as to how/why Sage would be scent matched to the pack at all, with the connotation that they didn't care to learn about it all beforehand. And it all was just underdeveloped and confusing because there was no actually explanations done.

This was a bummer. On paper it has the ingredients to be an angstyfest… h returns home to realize she’s scent matched to her bitchy sister’s fiancé and his pack, then is rejected. YUM.

Grovel = 1 out of the alphas rejected the h who was his scent match because he was in love with the h's sister with whom he is also engaged to marry. There is not much of a grovel. The alpha just kind of stays away for a while (like a year) and in the end of the book, he is coming back around.

Lots of possible angst, but it turned out very mild.

No grasp on pack dynamics

This author doesn't know a lot about how omegaverse works. If the 3 of them were truly a pack of alphas like it's stated in the book, Liam wouldn't have been marrying Celeste on his own. It would have been a pack relationship. I stopped reading part way through as there was no going back story wise for me.

great storyline but writing needs work

I wanted to love this book for the storyline, but the writing was choppy and the FMCs actions and thoughts/feelings were very inconsistent (i.e her and her sister don’t talk much and haven’t seen each other in years, but then they are suddenly talking about how strong their relationship is?!? Also, her feelings towards the MMCs is very conflicted and confusing, leaving me feeling like there isn’t really a basis for a relationship). It left me feeling discontent and disconnected from the characters. With some major editing, it could be a GREAT short story.

Sweet, but full of typos

Like I said, sweet, but needs massive proofreading and editing. I like how the two sisters worked out their issues and the way Liam handled himself was a rather mature way of dealing with the way his relationship with Celeste turned out. It's not often an alpha in OV shows that kind of respectful decision making. Okay story, just a bit lean on a backstory, but HEA for everyone. But, Iris Aster, find a good beta reader and work on the editing. Please!

So this was...okay.
Sage and her sister Celeste have kind of always been at odds with each other so when Sage comes home for Celeste's wedding, she decides that her "plus one" will be Celeste's old boyfriend just out of spite. Unfortunately, he can't come until the day of the wedding so meanwhile, Sage heads to the bar a few days before, where she runs into 3 of her old high school friends/crushes - one of whom just happens to be her sister's fiancé (which she had no idea about...of course, because her sister kept that little piece of info from her). Liam does the honorable thing and leaves but Sage and the other guys recognize they're scent matches (which means Liam is as well since they're pack) and end up hooking up while at the bar.

Enter chaotic and confusing feelings had by all.

There were a few inconsistencies - the length of time of Celeste's and Liam's relationship (at one point it was mentioned they hadn't been together long and only engaged a few months) and I swear it said their "first kiss" would be at the wedding...but then Liam mentions her talking in her sleep. So...???

I wasn't totally sold on Liam's love for Celeste, and the complete 180 that her and Sage did towards each other seemed strange. For YEARS they didn't really get along and then they suddenly got it??

It's a cute HEA story if you can get past some of those details.

Sage returns home for her sister's wedding after not being back in town for eight years. The night before she has to meet her sister's fiance, she gets drunk at a bar and runs into her old crushes from high school. Turns out they're her scent matches, but for some reason, they refuse to claim her. When Sage finally meets her future brother-in-law, she's shocked to find out he's the Alpha of the pack that's scent matched to her. Now everything is a mess, and will anyone find their happily ever after?

This is a light-hearted holiday reverse harem Omegaverse romance. It focuses mostly on the drama between the sisters and between Sage and the pack. I felt everything got resolved too quickly and easily between the sisters, and then we never see how Sage and the pack Alpha, Liam, create a bond. It's a sweet and not-so-deep read if that's what you're looking for.

I feel like this book is the outline of what a great angsty omegaverse book could be. The FMC seems like she couldn’t care less about having alphas or not. She is rejected and hurt, but the moment she learns one of her Alphas is engaged to her sister, all she cares about is making her sister happy. The Alphas didn’t really fight for her which really made me lose interest. Most of this book revolves around the sister who isn’t Alpha, Omega, or Beta. The only reason things work out is because the sister decides she wants to be with her old high school boyfriend.

This is such a good outline for the book. But while reading, it definitely felt like it was missing a lot.

This book gave me so much whiplash. First, she wants to mess with her sister’s wedding, so she invites Celeste’s ex as her date and they never talk, then she’s “always on her side” and nothing will come between them? And Liam wants to marry Celeste ALONE, not as a pack, but doesn’t want to leave his pack so they can have someone without HIM? Even if it’s their fated mate that they have had feelings for since high school? But at the same time he loves Celeste SO MUCH that he’d pick her over his scent match/fated mate, but then all the sudden they’ve been having communication problems and he’s fine with breaking up?

not my cuppa

One of my favorite things about a omegaverse is usually the fantasy of a scent match and the way it changes their whole world in an instant and being shown how their lives changed. This book was a lot of tell more than show. This book also focused more on the issues of starting the relationship then the actual building of the relationship. Then it didn’t even really have one pack mate in it at all. It just really wasn’t my favorite approach to romance. It feels unfinished.

Sage’s pack

This was short and convoluted and overall pretty sweet. Sage is not close to her family so when she goes home for her sister’s wedding, she has no idea who the groom is. Imagine her surprise when she finds out that it’s one of her childhood friends - and that she is scent matched to his pack. Things get a little crazy before they get better. And in the end, everyone gets their happily ever after.

Cute novella, but it suffered from lack of proofreading. There were SO MANY grammatical errors, and one or two sentences that I assume had been revised enough times that it no longer made sense.

Also, from a plot standpoint, who attends her sister’s wedding without knowing who the groom is? Invitation? Discussions with her parents? It seems implausible.

I really liked the plot of this short story but I think it would've been better suited to a full length book. The characters' feelings about each other changed so quickly that it was unrealistic. If the story took place over a few months instead of a few days it would have made a lot more sense! There were also quite a few spelling and grammatical errors.

The start actually got my hopes up because the writing is solid and I like the path that the story takes, but the things they said weren't logical and I was annoyed when she didn't call out the guys or her sister about certain things when she was otherwise very honest for a book FMC.
So close, but just missing the mark for me.

Smelling and grammar issues

The book is very fast paced and glosses over alot of details. Lots of grammar issues and spelling mistakes.

Finished the book because I liked the idea of the plot.

Expected more

I went into this expecting some drama and spice and ….kinda got it? The premise was interesting but the delivery fell flat. It felt like it could’ve been more and it just wasn’t. Plus the epilogue…didn’t add anything honestly.

No. Plain no.
The plot is wonky at best. Characters are not interesting, and the way they interact is inconstent and absurd too often to actually truly like any of them. The writing is....really bad.
