Re-read April 2025: I don’t think I’ve ever re-read a story this soon after finishing it the first time, but I needed a sure thing and love this one! Levi is major book boyfriend goals!

Original review:
Yes! I totally loved this one!! I kind of went in blind and have never read anything by this author before, but I will definitely be looking into more books by her!
This story had all I was craving. A touch of instalove, a fiercely protective, possessive alpha that was all in and would not waver even when the h tried to push him away. A super strong, independent heroine, wonderful small town feel, strong family bonds and love, super sweet romance and scorching spice (phew!). I loved Levi and Kasi together and can’t wait to continue this series!

Safety:
- No OW
- OM: the mayor of the town wants to marry h. He causes some drama.
- No cheating
- No separation / no real third act break up (cause H wouldn’t allow it ;-))
- Deals with death of a parent. Grief is a big part of this story.

Mari Carr Perfect Storm bk 01 Taken by Storm

Love at First Touch

Kassandra (Kasi, Little Bear) Mills and Levi Storm are magic. I love how, once the "blinders" come off, Levi is all in. Even better, I love how he proves it through his actions time and again. Those actions include how he patiently waits for the smexy times. And what wickedly hot smexy times they are - primal, adventurous deliciousness.

He knew Kasi Mills was no longer a kid, but what he’d failed to let himself admit was that she was a very beautiful woman.
-- Levi Storm

Kasi is definitely in a rough spot and very little support. Of course, she isn't very good at asking for help which only makes some of the issues worse. As Levi breaks down some of her walls, I do like that she begrudgingly accepts the support. Things aren't perfect, but Rome wasn't built in a day, right?

I absolutely LOVE how the Storm brothers take to the idea of Levi and Kasi as a couple, only teasing about their age gap, and their willingness to jump in and help when things are overwhelming for her. It makes me look forward to each of their books. ❤️❤️❤️

I borrowed the audio book. The narrators, Grace Noble and Jarman Day, are fabulous. Can I tell you a secret? I fell asleep listening last night (I was exhausted and in need of the sleep) and had wonderful dreams. I'm giving them some of the credit. 😘 🎧🩷🎧

“What I feel for you isn’t some lukewarm affection. It’s not a mistake or a misunderstanding. It’s an unstoppable obsession.” -Levi

Kasi is a strong woman trying to keep her family’s farm running, but it’s not easy to manage everything on her own. Over time, the lack of sleep, support, and stress have taken a toll on her. Levi, who has known Kasi and her family for years but was never particularly close to her, witnesses her fainting and feels a connection he didn’t realize existed when he catches her in his arms. Aware that no one else has been there for her since her mother’s passing, Levi is determined to be the person who helps her, making it clear that she is important to him. He wants her to be his and calls her “mine.”

Kasi believes she can handle everything alone while her brother and father grieve in their own ways. Her dad is isolating himself, and her brother is often absent. Levi makes it his mission to change that.

This is the first book I’ve read by Mari Carr, and I would definitely like to explore more of her work. “Taken by Storm” was an excellent read, with writing that perfectly captures both romance and emotion. I have a lot of favorite quotes from this book. Although the story was told in the third person, which isn’t usually my favorite point of view, I found it engaging. I appreciated how Levi wanted to care for Kasi and help her on the farm and also how much he wants to be with her. This book was very spicy and some scenes maybe a bit too spicy for me at times. But overall, this was a great read.

Taken By Storm is an age gap, small town story that's a little bit inta-love as well. Kasi has been in love with her best friend's older cousin forever but he's never really looked at her since he is 13 years older. When her mom passed, Kasi took over running the family farm and produce stand. Levi stops by every day for a pie she saves for him. One day, after she passes out and he catches her, he has this realization that Kasi is his true love. She doesn't believe it at first since she's always just been his younger cousin's best friend. He starts helping her out with the farm to prove himself to her. She has a hard time. Admitting she needs help and that she does truly like him back. She also finally admits that the farm is running out of money and accepts his help in figuring out a way to save it.
The chemistry and banter was great. I loved all the characters in the story, especially Levi's large family.

**Book Review: *Taken by Storm* by Mari Carr**

Mari Carr’s *Taken by Storm* is a sizzling, heart-stopping romance that combines small-town charm, high-stakes emotional drama, and intense chemistry. Set against the backdrop of a working farms, the story follows Kasi, a strong, independent woman facing the hardest battle of her life to save her family’s farm after it’s hit by devastation, and Levi, a rugged, protective man with a big heart. What starts as a slow-burn romance quickly ignites into something much deeper, as these two characters discover that love can be as unpredictable and powerful as a storm.

Kasi, struggling to keep her family’s farm afloat after a financial and personal tragedy, is fierce and determined. She’s worked tirelessly to preserve the land her family has owned for generations, but the weight of the world is beginning to wear on her. Enter Levi, her best friend’s cousin, a man who’s been part of her life for years. Despite their age gap and his reserved nature, Kasi had a crush but never thought it would come true!

The attraction between them becomes undeniable, and their slow, fiery romance is full of tension and steamy passion. The sparks that fly between them are matched only by the deep emotional connection that builds as they face obstacles both external and internal.

Mari Carr’s writing is exceptional, weaving together the struggle of farm life with the growing connection between Kasi and Levi. The small-town setting adds a layer of intimacy and warmth, as neighbors pitch in to help the struggling farm while Kasi and Levi wrestle with their feelings. The age gap between them isn’t just a plot device; it’s a key factor in their relationship dynamics, as it brings out both vulnerability and strength in their characters.

Overall, *Taken by Storm* is a scorching-hot, deeply emotional romance that delivers on every level. With relatable characters, a compelling plot, and a setting that feels both intimate and expansive, it’s a book that will capture readers’ hearts and keep them hooked. If you're looking for a romance that’s equal parts steamy and heartwarming, Mari Carr’s *Taken by Storm* is a must-read.

We first met Levi Storm in Kiss and Tell. After the death of her mother, Kasi had to take over all of the duties of keeping the farm running. As she passes out due to exhaustion, Levi catches her. Levi Storm has been her crush forever, but he only ever saw her as his younger cousin Remi’s bestie. Levi realizes that Kasi was meant to be his.He sees Kasi exhausting herself and begins to help her whether she wants that help or not. Levi also helps her with the issues with her father and brother who are having difficulty dealing with grief. This was a great start for this new series. I look forward to other books in this series.

Taken by Storm is the first book in the Perfect Storm series. This is Levi Storm and Kasi Mills story.

Kasi’s mother has died and she, her father and brother are left to pick up the pieces and they are overwhelmed with grief and anger.

Levi is 13 years older than Kasi. While they have known each other for a long time. Kasi was too young for him while growing up but now that they are both older the years between them don’t make a difference.

I loved Levi’s tenacity. He wasn’t going to take no for an answer. Kasi was just so overwhelmed trying to help her family since her mother died.

I loved Levi and Kasi’s story. Levi was just what she and her family didn’t know they needed.

Love at first touch *swoon* I loved how he just knew, and never deviated, from that fact that once he realized she was the one for him, he was all in. Not that there weren’t issues to work through, or that she believed it, but he showed her with every word, every action, every touch, that he was serious about her. The emotions ran high for her, life had been unkind and things were in shambles, so her trusting and relying on someone else came hard. They totally swept me up in their story as they raced towards their HEA <3

This book was a great way to start off 2025! I loved the alpha, "she is mine" attitude of Levi! I loved that by the first touch he was a goner! I didn't love how stubborn Kasi was but in the end she came to the right conclusion! I am totally invested in this series and can't wait for all the Storm brothers to find love!

"his desperation had him looking for other ways to tie her to him"
GROSS!! Forced pregnancy? I feel like I need to point out that is assault.
Levi is a controlling asshole, not a desirable partner. I would tell any of my friends to run away as fast as possible.

This story has small town charm but also deals with the emotions of grief. Kasi finds herself solely trying to keep her family and their farm afloat after her mother’s sudden passing. Finally her body gives out and she faints into the arms of her longtime crush Levi. One touch and Levi knows he will do anything to keep her safe. Kasi was stubborn in her belief that she had to do it all but Levi helped her see that it was okay to ask for help. Their banter and chemistry was sizzling. I loved how Levi’s family and others immediately stepped in to help. Really a well written and engaging read. Excited to see what comes next in this series!.

Kasi's life now consists of running the family farm. Her mother passed and her father and brother have checked out, leaving all the responsibility on her shoulders. All that weight is pressing down on her so much that she almost crumbles in front of her longtime crush and best friend's much older cousin, Levi. Surprisingly, Levi seems intent on...helping her? Shadowing her? Whatever he's doing is wreaking havoc on her already stretched to breaking state of mind. Is it possible Levi's finally noticed her after all these years of just seeing her as his cousin's friend?

Levi took one look at Kasi and it was as if he'd never seen her before. His new feelings are instant, and he's hell bent on showing her they're meant to be. She's been carrying one hell of a load since her mother passed, and he wants to relieve her of it. She can let go of all of her stress, and he'll take care of her, in and out of the bedroom. And along the way, he'll convince her that she's safe, her heart is safe, in his hands.

I love it when an alpha falls first, and never wavers from what (who) he wants. That's the case with Levi and Kasi. The blinders were off finally and he just knew Kasi was meant to be his. Convincing her of that took a bit more work, but he was definitely up for the challenge, in all kinds of deliciously dominating ways. Kasi deserved the world and Levi was the perfect partner to do that. All he wanted to do is love her, she just had to choose to let him. I know this is the start of a new series, now I'm excitedly waiting for Theo and Gretchen's story, Shelter from the Storm.

Taken by Storm is book 1 in the Perfect Storm spinoff series from Kiss and Tell (Italian Stallions Book 8). In this inaugural book, we follow Levi Storm and Kasi Mills on their journey.

Kasi is Levi's cousin, Remi's, best friend. He has always thought of her like a little sister, err cousin. She has always had a "secret" crush on him, but with him being 13 years older than her she knew nothing would ever come of it.

Levi swings by the Mills' farm market every day for one of their fresh baked pies. Little does he know that Kasi puts aside a pie every day for him. And not just any pie, but the best pie. He has no idea she has had a crush on him for forever. But when she passes out and almost face plants in to the market counter, he catches her.

Kasi is embarrassed, and aroused, when she wakes up with her head in Levi's lap after passing out. He is worried about her, but she claims she forgot to eat. As all gentleman do, he helps her close down the market stand and then follows her home.

What he learns at her house simply floors him. He cannot believe she is running the market stand, baking all of the goods she sells, making dinner for her dad, managing the farm workers, managing the bills, and so on. It is overwhelming for one person to do it all.

Oh yeah, did I mention Kasi has a brother who parties all night and then does not do his chores around the farm, so she has to?

And let us not forget, she has an unwanted suitor who is trying to get his hands on her family's farm so that his family can expand their business.

When Levi realizes, early on, that Kasi is the ONE for him, he sets about winning her heart. But will he be able to convince her that he is in love with her? Or will this unwanted suitor beat him to the punch by knowingly making her question Levi and his family?

When her father starts to rejoin the family after the untimely death of his wife, will he be able to reason with Kasi and give her the support she needs? Will he merge his family and farm with the Storm's or with the unwanted suitor's family?

For as young as she is, Kasi is truly amazing. She is doing the work of 3, or more, people around the farm. In addition, she is dealing with a person she has no desire to deal with. So when his family starts overstepping boundaries, her spine stiffens. She starts pushing back and saying NO.

Also, her memories of her parents dancing in the kitchen is something she dreams of having for herself. So when that dream comes true with her, she knows she has made the right decision.

Both Grace Noble and Jarman Day are new narrators for me. I enjoyed both of their voices, especially as these lead characters. We shall see how many more Perfect Storm books they narrate.

Kasi Mills was drowning. Ever since her Mama passed away, she’d been trying to do it all . . . take care of her dad and brother, run the farm and fruit stand and keep track of the finances. Running on just about no sleep and too much stress, she was at her breaking point. And, her body is about to let her know it!

Levi Storm wasn’t looking for a relationship. He’s happy in his perfectly scheduled life, right down to picking up a pie from the neighbor’s fruit stand every day to share with his brothers. But, when Kasi passes out right in front of him, he sees everything differently, realizing that the woman who is his cousin’s best friend is so much more than the little girl he remembered. She’s all woman and she's meant to be his!

Is it too good to be true that Kasi’s childhood crush is suddenly a prominent feature in her daily life . . . helping with chores around the farm and stealing kisses. Or is Kasi in way too far over her head and about to lose everything she loves?

Holy Cow! Mari Carr outdid herself with this romance. First off, I adored Kasi. She was trying so hard to contain her grief and keep her farm and family together. She’s proud and independent and so loyal and loving. But, she’s struggling. It’s too much for any one person to handle, and it literally took her fainting on Levi for anyone to notice. And, by notice, I mean Levi finally saw what was always in front of him in a completely new light! And, once he made up his mind, he was all in and never going to give Kasi up! His dominant personality while still being sensitive to her needs was intoxicating! He walked the perfect line between giving her all the support she needed and taking too much control. And, their chemistry in the bedroom was so very fun and unexpected! Let’s just leave it at, Kasi may have been inexperienced, but she certainly wasn’t timid when it came to playing out her fantasies with Levi!

Fast paced, this romance had a lot of depth. These characters felt real and their emotions dripped off of the page and pulled at my heart! The grief of losing a parent is awful, and I could identify with every version of grief Kasi’s family portrayed. It was also lovely watching Levi fight for her in every way, including against her doubts when it all became too much.

If the rest of the series is like this, we are in for a real treat! Emotional and oh so sexy, Kasi and Levi’s romance will steal your heart! 5 stars!

Best Kind of Storm! Terrific Story & Narration🎧

Taken By Storm
Perfect Storm, Book 1
By: Mari Carr
Narrated by: Jarman Day, Grace Noble

“Taken by Storm”, the first book in Mari Carr’s new “Perfect Storm” series, and what a story it is, one that captivates your attention and tugs at your heartstrings the entire time. Set in Gracemont, Virginia, home of the Storm family and the Stormy Weather Farms and the series starts off with Levi Storm’s and Kasi’s story and wow, what a story it is, one that will move you like no other. Kasi’s family farm neighbors the Storm’s and the past couple of years have not been easy for her and her family, and the burden of it all has fallen on her shoulders and she tries to do it all. Kasi has harbored a crush on Levi Storm, saved a pie for him every day at her family’s farm stand, and one day he comes in and catches her when she fainted from exhaustion, and that touch was all it took for him to know she was the one, that she was his. Kasi was proud and did not want to share her financial burdens with Levi and how dire things were. Then the slime ball mayor gets in her head and then hounds her, telling her he had the solution to all her problems, himself. I despised that guy and am hoping he gets what is coming to him and there will be a new mayor in town. Levi was amazing with Kasi, the best kind of storm and just what she needed. I loved all the layers of this story and how it all played out, with plenty of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance. Mari Carr, thank you for another terrific story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 Jarman Day and Grace Noble did a fantastic job voicing these characters and delivering a spot on portrayal of each. Noble aced it as Kasi, grasping every aspect of her personality, from her fears and worries to her strength and determination. Day did the same as Levi and was just as fabulous with showcasing his personality and demeanor. Both were equally fantastic performing the roles of the side/secondary characters too. Their pacing and tone were right for the story and they captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling each one. These two made a great team, with voices and talent that complemented each other and a performance that takes the story to another level.

4.5/5 stars. This ARC was a first for me, from this author, and I after just this one book in a new series, I am seeking out other books from Mari for my TBR.

This had everything I love in a book, Age-Gap, Small Town, Grumpy MMC who is Alpha/Possessive and the FMC who, although described as a damsel in distress, I would whole heartedly disagree.

Kasi, the FMC, is shouldering all the responsibility of the farm, the business and the health/wellbeing of her Dad and Brother, after the tragic death of their Wife/Mum. Of course, anything Kasi needs in the list is not prioritised by her, and catches up with her in dramatic fashion.

She finds herself in the lap of Levi, the MMC, the oldest of seven brothers, who all live together, with their parents and cousins on the same property. As it happened, Kasi's BFF is Levi's cousin, Remi. Now Levi has been Kasi's crush since she was a child, but she barely gets a grunt out of Levi, or even acknowledgement, so this turn of events has her shocked (despite the whole fainting thing). So imagine further her surprise when Levi steps in and takes over, or attempts too, all the things Kasi has been juggling, especially as he learns more about why she does. He makes it his mission to ensure that Kasi starts looking after herself, and this is just the most beautifully written story as we are treated to the blossoming of this relationship, and the confessions that are just heart wrenching.

I have a few book boyfriends that are stable away in my memory banks that just are perfect, and Levi is all those things for me. How he is and for Kasi just blows my mind, and when I say she is no damsel, she really isn't, and makes it clear what she thinks of Levi and his over possessive/alphaness (yes I made that word up) that he tries on her constantly. He has to prove himself to her. Mari, I loved this book, and I look forward to and hope for more stories in this series featuring those other delicious brothers, but Levi and Kasi, perfect.

**a few slight spoilers ahead**

I know that not everyone enjoys an insta-love story but I like that Carr makes it a thing for all the guys. That it’s something that runs in the family with their parents being the first. Now it isn’t love at first sight for Levi and Kasi, but Levi just needed to really see Kasi as all grown up for it to hit. After that, it’s all over and we just need to wait for Kasi to catch up :)

Now, I like Levi but he’s definitely a bit … alpha? One of the things that bothers me is that Kasi has an issue when one guy treats her like “the little woman” but she’s ok when Levi does it? Complete with being told what to do and consequences? Sure, it could be because she loves and trusts him and he realizes that she’s strong on her own but … I don’t know. Maybe it just needed a little something to make that distinction a bit clearer.

And Kasi is strong. She’s been trying to keep her family and their farm going for months, all by herself. But she’s finally at the breaking point. Unfortunately she’s got a lot of pride that keeps her from asking for help from her friends. Until it gets to the point that she literally falls into Levi’s arms. And he’s not taking no for an answer *whew*

It’s obvious that someone’s trying to take advantage of Kasi. I mean he might as well be twirling his mustache and rubbing his hands together as he manipulates things. He’s just that over the top. But I do like the way that things get resolved – so satisfying!

This is only the second book by Carr I’ve read and I’m loving this one too. There were a few things that got to me but overall it is just great! It’s steamy, sweet, and an easy read.

**I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.**

Taken By Storm took me a bit to fall in love with the story. I can't quite put my finger on what it was, but eventually once these two found their groove, the book really took off.

Levi falls first and hard, he's older and watched Kasi basically grow up while running around with his younger cousin. It isn't until she literally fell at his feet that the attraction, on his end, opened wide open and once it does, he's hooked.

Kasi's farm is in trouble in almost every possible way and not only is she suffering from financial trouble, but her mother recently passed away. To add to her burdens, her dad and brother aren't helping like they should, lost in their own grief. Kasi is barely hanging on, sleeping but a few hours a night, so one day when Levi stops by and notices, it's the day that he falls not only for Kasi, but he begins to notice her troubles. While there may be no turning back for Levi, Kasi is stubborn with a capital S. Their back and forth, with her stubborn heels digging in, takes up a large chuck, but all in all I love how Levi never gives up on her or her family.

The Storm family is great fun, but we don't get a lot of interaction with them right up front, which could be why I didn't fall immediately in love with the book...again, I'm not entirely sure, but there will be more books from the huge family going forward. I love Remi, Levi's cousin that Kasi is extremely close too. She's a hoot and a half and sounds like great trouble with a big side of fun. There are several Storm family members with great promise and this small town is just heating up.
A 4.5 read overall.

First time reader of this author and I absolutely loved it!

I went into this ARC not knowing what exactly it was about and loving how real and easy it was to connect with some of these characters!! The 3rd person narrative surprised me in the beginning but I was into it all the same!

Kasi is a wonderful character who may as well represent a lot of us who have it hard. She strives to do her best so that she doesn't lose all the hard work and love that her family had built after a tragedy. She is completely alone and on the edge of her rope. Yet she's resilient and puts a smile on her face to survive day after day.

Levi is a man who all need in our lives. When things get tough or too much for us to handle, he is definitely the Ultimate realistic book boyfriend we can rely on. I loved how bossy he was. it was never in a way that undermined her. it was all for the sake of her and her family! He took charge to improve and help her family heal in the all the right directions.

I was expecting him to remain like those silent brooding types with all the money and stuff but after the Instalove he changed into quite a talkative man; especially to our Kasi. While there were unrealistic tropes in this book, their relationship and their environment was true to life and very relatable.

My favorite was reading their relationship develop while going through their day to day lives. I'm sad its over but I'm excited for the next book. I was thinking it would be Sam because of what happened at the end of the book, but interestingly, its Theo. However, I don't know how the other brothers will hold a candle to Levi. He is that awesome.

Taken By Storm (Perfect Storm #1) by Mari Carr. Even though I have heard this author's name, this is my first time reading one of her books. I shocked myself. I really thought I had, but I hadn't. Oh, well. I am glad I read this book. Kasi is trying to not only keep her family farm afloat but also her family as well. Her mother, who was the backbone of the family, suddenly died eight months ago. Her dad has shut down and isolated himself in his room, and her 18 year old brother is running reckless and wild. Burning the candle at both ends, up the sides, and in the middle, she ends up fainting in the arms of Levi Storm. She has known him forever since he is her best friend's cousin. She has had a crush on him just as long. 13 years her senior she never thought she would have a chance with him. A girl could hope. After she ends up fainting and waking up in Levi's arm, things change between her and Levi. Levi now sees Kasi in a new light, and she is suspicious of his newfound attention. She is now struggling with her new relationship with Levi, her father's isolation, her brother's rebellion, and the farm's mounting debt. It's a really good story and a fabulous start to a series about the Storm brothers. Levi is the oldest of 7, so the author has 6 more brothers to go. The author left us with a tidbit to the next book. I'm looking forward to it. Loved Levi and Kasi's story. 4 stars for me.

Taken by Storm
Perfect Storm, Book 1
By: Mari Carr
Narrated by: Jarman Day, Grace Noble

The Storm men. I can't wait to meet them all! Mari Carr has introduced me to Levi, and he has taken a liking to Kasie. She has been working her fingers to the bone since the death of her mother and literally passes out from exhaustion. It's Levi who saves her from falling on her face, but it didn't stop him from falling for her. Now he is on a mission, not only to win her heart, but to help her family deal with their problems. But their problems run much deeper than just helping around the farm. And Kasie hasn't shared it with anyone. Will her silence cost her Levi and the farm? This is a fantastic start to the Storms. The brothers are the best at that sibling banter, but right there when needed. Levi is a sweet man, and his heart is huge. Kasie is stubborn and proud and at times, it definitely trips her up. Loved this, the way it plays out. It's spicy, it sweet, it's got the character I love to hate and a bunch I love. Loved it!

Jaman Day and Grace Noble are the story tellers and they were perfectly cast. Day brings out the alpha protector in Levi, Whenever he was around, his voice projected that feeling of a warm hug, just as I picture Levi. Noble is Kasie, and she plays her perfectly. She is scared and frustrated, grieving and falling in love. All the feels are right there. These two complimented each other and made for an enjoyable listen.

A slowburn, instalove romance albeit one with a lot of smexy times to start Mari Carr’s Perfect Storm series as Levi Storm takes one long look at Kasi Mills and is struck right where it counts by Cupid’ arrow. He might’ve known her for years as his cousin’s friend but suddenly he’s looking at her in a new light and loving what he sees. Kasi had fantasied about Levi for years but never thought she stood a chance especially given the thirteen-year age gap between them, now if only she had the energy to handle him but she’s struggling to keep the family farm afloat till Levi steps in and takes command.

Who doesn’t love a cowboy hero and when he’s part golden retriever part rottweiler and dominant in all the ways that matter like Levi is then whats not love. Kasi was exhausted by all her family’s issues, but she was determined to handle things on her own even when the town’s mayor started hanging around trying to blackmail her but slowly Levi wore her down, determined to help no matter what she said. Their chemistry was combustible and their banter wicked and with a large cast of secondary characters all ready to step in and help Kasi, I can’t wait to see where this series goes. If you’re a fan of instalove romances, with dominant heroes who fall first, feisty heroines, a whole lotta family and some serious spice you won’t want to miss Taken by Storm.

Mari Carr has been one of my favorite authors for years. I have been waiting for the start of the Storm family series and Taken By Storm dogs not disappoint.
Kasi and Levi have known each other for years. Kasi has a crush on her best friend's cousin as a teen. It never really went away.
Kasi's mom died a couple of years of years ago and her family had been struggling since. Her dad had fallen into a dark hole of sadness and doesn't leave his room, her brother had turned angry and troubled. All the responsibilities of the family farm are falling to Kasi and she is sinking. The farm is in jeopardy and she is at a loss as to what else to do.

Levi works with his brothers running the family vineyards. He loves order and routine in his life. Part of his routine is stopping by the farmstand that Kasi runs for her family farm each day to pick up a pie. Levi realizes that he has had feelings for Kasi for a long while. He steps up to help Kasi when he sees how exhausted she has become.

The sparks fly between these two and Levi's comfort is the salve the Kasi's heart has needed. But the problems with the farm and her family aren't so easily solved, especially when someone is looking to take advantage.

I loved how Kasi realized how strong she was and how everyone supported her and her family. I can't wait for Theo's book!

This story truly embodies the sentiment that love knows no bounds!

Loved the chemistry between Kasi & Levi! Kasi has always had a crush on Levi, however she knew he would never feel the same because he is 13 years older. Then one day all that changes for Levi, when Kasi faints and falls into his arms - he knows she’s the one for him. From that day forward he shows her through his actions and his words how much he truly cares for her.

There is so much hilarious banter between these two - trust me you’ll be cracking up! Levi is a no nonsense kind of guy and Kasi likes to push his buttons but slowly over time she sees his intentions and begins to believe him. Kasi is just trying to do the best she can, but running herself thin. Levi sees this and is willing to do anything and everything to make her life easier! On top of great banter, there is amazing spice! These two have some spicy moments together; Levi is a dirty talker and worships Kasi when given the chance.

This book is an emotional roller coaster that will make you laugh, cry, and swoon! The connection that is created between Levi & Kasi is absolutely heartwarming. These two are truly meant to be; seeing them overcome the obstacles set in their path together, is such a wonderful journey.

A must read age gap, small town romance! Thank you so much to Mari Carr and the Author Agency for the early copy! I’m excited to continue this series!

Levi and Kasi have known each other since she was a little girl. Her BFF, Remi, is his cousin and they have been around each for years. She has had a crush on Levi since she was a teenager, but he is 13 years older so she had virtually no hope anything would come of it. It seems as though Levi wasn't quite sure of Kasi becoming a woman until she faints in his arms. She has been working hard since her mother died 8 months ago to keep her family farm afloat. Her 18 year old brother wasn't much help and her father has been barely getting out of bed. When Levi realizes how much Kasi has been taking on, he steps right in to help. He soon realizes that she is it for him but knows she might need a bit more time to feel the same. He does everything he can to show her that he is in for the long haul. I respected how he didn't play games and showed by his actions what he was all about with her. She needed some time to get her head on straight since she felt like he was off limits for so long. I liked how Levi got her father and brother to start realizing all that was being left on Kasi's plate. It was a quick, easy read and I liked the start of this series a lot. Can't wait to see what happens with these 2 in the upcoming books about his brothers.

I have listened to a few series created by Mari Carr now, and I think they are all fantastic. She writes very sweet romances, concerning everyday kind of problems couples encounter. Casey has had a devastating blow to her family life when her mother who was clearly the heartbeat of her family passed away suddenly. Casey is now dealing with running her family's farm basically on her own because her father is not handling his grief well while her younger 18 year old brother is getting into trouble more than helping her with the farm. Casey who is extremely overworked and overburdened trying to take care of everyone else faints into the arms of her teenage crush Levi. As soon as Levi has Casey in his arms, he knows immediately she is "the one." However, he is in for a challenge to get the very independent stubborn woman to get onboard with his "mine forever" plans. No cheating or sharing in this story, Of course, a HEA with a small blurb at the end, leading into the main characters for the next story in the series. The narrators did a great job- both are new to me.

I requested and received a free audio copy via the publisher, and I voluntarily wrote this honest review. #TheFlockVIPReviewTeam #PinkFlamingoProductions #PFPAudio

Overall, I can say that just like Kasi I was Taken by Storm as I read her love story and watched her lose her heart all over again to Levi and I can definitely see this story being one I will reread often. Kasi Mills is one of those characters that makes you laugh, cry, scream and wish you were her in turns, but in the end, you can see that she grows and changes as she falls in love and finds a way to build a life with the man of her dreams. Levi Storm is definitely a hero for our time, one that reminds us of the good men that are so hard to find, but that unquestionably do still exist, ones that will devote themselves to making their woman’s life better and showing their love and devotion to her while providing and better life for her and their family, whatever it takes. I loved the sparky chemistry between these two as soon as Levi’s eyes were opened to the woman that was always in his life, honestly, I had to hunt up some ice water even in the dead of winter! I cannot wait to see more of these two in future stories because I cannot imagine that passion won’t still be obvious as their relationship continues to grow (baby Levi or Kasi will surely be coming soon!). The next brother to lose his heart and soul to love will be just as fabulous I imagine, and the wait will kill us all as Mari works to build a whole new world of sensuality and fantasy in the hills of Virginia on this amazing farm filled with gorgeous people. Pure gold, Mari.

ARC REVIEW
🧡I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.🧡

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️🌶️

It was love at first touch for Kasi and Levi. Their story was just both sweet and touching. Levi was immediately head over heels for Kasi the moment he caught her when she passed out. The words that came out of his mouth had me in swoon. His kind gestures, not just for Kasi, but also for her family had me in awe. It was also heartwarming on how Levi’s family was there and ready to help Kasi and her family in any moment. It had me teary eyed when it came to reading about Kasi’s struggle on keeping the farm afloat and on making sure that her dad and brother were taken care of, especially after her mother’s death. And lastly, the suspense on how Kasi will handle the financial problem in their farm had me curious and got me swiping quickly for the next chapter.

Overall, Taken by Storm caught my attention right from the first chapter. It was full of emotion all throughout the book. After the last chapter, it got me wanting more of Levi and Kasi. I just could not get enough of them. It also got me eager to read the next book in the series after that little teaser the end. Definitely highly recommend this book if you’re looking for your next small town read 🙌🏻.

Kasi & Levi (oldest Storm brother)

Great plot, steamy hot sex scenes, lots of angst.

Family fell apart when the mother died just after they lost a field of crops and a tractor that hit them financially hard. Farming is a hard and very chance driven life. Kasi was holding the farm together by her fingertips becuase her father withdrew from life and her brother (teenager) was angry about everything after the mother died. Everybody seemed to just forget life went on, bills had to be paid, work and chores had to be done.

Levi had an epiphany one die, finally opens his eyes when he swoops in to keep Kasi from harm when she fainted and as he liked to say "One touch and he knew". He "awoke' to the fact that Kasi was meant to be his life partner and he set out to fix the many things in her life that were wrong. Sadly, there wasn't an easy fix on any of it but we saw the family heal and oh shit-head Scotti was once again put in his place. I won't be surprised to find out in some of the next books if Scotti or his nasty family hadn't been the ones to torch that field trying to drive the family out.

Enjoyed this quick read.
