First and Last
While I am a fan of hood fiction, this was a first and last book from this author for me for a variety of reasons, but the main being I didn't like the writing style. Certain writers can really convey the alpha hood dude vibe in a way that comes off sexy and appealing, even when what they are saying or doing isn't. These characters were all just cringeworthy... all of them. From the cheating bride to be, to the super triflin mother who denied her kids and would rather be homeless than miss a trip to the hood millionacres who raw-dogged women they just met. It all gave me the ICK. Add to that there were several inconsistencies and grammatical errors and then 5 different viewpoints - this was only a 106-page book, so there were too many things working against it. Then, to have it end on a cliffhanger for more of this mess. Ummm, no thanks.

Horrible characters and inconsistent story
The first page said Nicki was a single mother with 3 kids, but by page 5 she now has 4 kids and is homeless. None of the characters are likable.

I hate cliffhangers 🤷🏽♀️ I wish I would’ve read the reviews for all 3 books cause then I would’ve known to not start this series because it’s gonna be a part 4😡

One Chill Millionaire Ain’t Chill
This story comes out the gate creative with just enough realism to make it hit. The characters might feel a little safe right now, but it’s giving calm-before-the-chaos energy, like everybody smiling while the storm clouds are forming. You can tell situations are brewing, secrets simmering, and once it pops it’s going to get messy. This is definitely not your average one-night-stand tale, it’s layered, unpredictable, and moving like street chess instead of checkers. The twists keep you guessing, and I love that the story can swerve in multiple directions at any moment. Leah and Nicki are my standouts, solid, intriguing, and bringing real presence to the page. Tiffany, on the other hand, is irritating in the way only a well-written character can be. The street lit influence is perfectly measured, just enough grit to add edge without drowning out the romance. I’m diving into part two because these millionaire men are anything but chill, and I already know the pressure is about to apply itself heavy.

One Chill Millionaire is unlike most urban fiction that I've read...I'm not sure how to articulate it but I can say that the author, Black Lavish, has a unique writing style. It took some getting used to but about 30% into the book, I liked the writing. The ladies in One Chill Millionaire are a complete and utter mess! The men in the book are just as bad. I really didn't want to leave this review because the book ends with such a huge cliffhanger that I felt that the review could be incomplete. However, the story unfolds in such an interesting way that I am eager to read book 2 because I want to see how these characters redeem themselves! I definitely recommend One Chill Millionaire, but particularly to individuals who like urban fiction.

WOW. So much is happening it's crazy; two sisters and a friend go away for a weekend celebrating an up coming marriage what the friends encounter during this trip is some eye opening situations. Then you have the champion ready to take on the biggest fight of his life but suddenly there an hitch and he's conflict either he wins taking himself higher making his mom, granny and everyone else proud or take a dive to keep his fast acting brother out of jail, can't wait for part two because I know Black Lavish is going to continue to deliver making you want more with each book.

I would say this read was quick and straight to the point. I'm just wondering what this is going to mean for Bress, and I don't like how he did Leah but you can't really expect much from a one night stand. Nikki needs to put her pride to the side and tell her family her situation, and I don't agree with her telling Quest she doesn't have kids. That darn other sister (I forgot her name, lol) and her bestie is something else, and I don't believe it will be their last time interacting with each other. I hope Shay is fine because that was odd she never made it home. Nowwwwwwww I'm starting to think that's the one Brees shot 🤔

cute read
Not going to lie, I judged this book by the cover and was expecting something softer. Maybe even a romance? In any event it was hard finding a character I identified with. While I understand having unlikable character to drive the plot and highlight lessons, for all the characters to be unappealing was hard to look beyond.
There were tensions I liked tho, like when one friend was given 20gs by the others one night stand. And when the brother had to sacrifice for his brothers mistake in regards to the fight. Those are tension I wish were met earlier and expounded upon.

Yes, he thinks he is protecting his brother but you can’t react from a place of emotion (as you can see). I think Quest and Nicki can have something if they get to know each other. Wayyy too many characters that are thrown together in odd ways. Nicki broke and in a shelter with 4 kids because she wants material stuff. Like she said she had 350.00 but was spending 200.00 on a bag for her child. Just didn’t make sense. Even Leah is completely broke but is still spending like it’s nothing. I don’t like the characters or the storyline. I will not be reading book two

There was lot packed in this short book and I was NOT disappointed at all!!!…
I hope that was not the girl’s friend that was put on ice and now inhaling the dirt!!!…
I was a tad bit disappointed that Nicki was not sharing at least 10% of her come up with her friends!!!…
I was also disappointed that Leah hid that she had children, although I understood why!!!…

I made the mistake of starting this book at 2am. I couldn’t get any sleep because I had to see what was going to happen next. That’s how hooked Black Lavish had me. Guess I’m team no sleep because I have to go right into the next book. This was really really good, and I highly recommend it!

So much drama is unfolding among this crew of friends. I’ve really taken a liking to Breez & Que and though I’m annoyed at Breez’s actions I know he did it out of love to protect Que. I can’t wait to see the rest of the story unfold.
