This picks up after book 1, and there’s some shady stuff going down. Rhett enters the picture to find a witch who’s stealing crystals from the demon realm, and he’s left in Joan’s car while in the human world.
One day I will crawl out of Leigh Miller’s pocket where I reside like a little dragon to be fed whatever she writes, but it’s not today. It might not be this decade. Or this century. Book dragon’s unite. I freaking love when we get plot along with a delicious love story, and this provides. There’s something not right in the Demon world and the demons and witches have to work together, while Esme, the Coven’s head, has her own political motivations. Deliciousness.
I love this world. Consider me a fandragon.

La verdad es que está novela me ha gustado y la he encontrado mejor escrita y estructurada que la anterior.
Me he creído más relación entre los protagonistas, aunque pequen de falta de profundidad. El argumento un poco de lo mismo, me ha parecido predecible pero entretenido.
En conclusión, no ha sido lo mejor que he leído de la autora, y eso que tengo unas cuantas obras de ella que me han gustado bastante. No creo que deje de leer esta saga, quiero ver si sigue mejorando.

Once Again, Leigh Miller Did Not Disappoint 👏
This book was absolutely wonderful—Leigh Miller has done it again!
Rhett is such a damn sweetheart, and I ate that up completely. Every moment with him made my heart melt, and I just couldn’t get enough of his charm and warmth. And Joan? She’s such a lovely soul. I adored her gentle strength and the fact that she has her own tea shop—how cute is that? 💕 It added such a wholesome, cozy touch to the story and made her character even more endearing.
The story itself is brilliant. The way the demon realm is portrayed blew me away. You’d think it would be all dark and eerie, but instead, it’s filled with stunning scenery and lush forests. It’s so immersive and enchanting—exactly the kind of setting that makes me fall in love with a book.
This story had everything I love: lovable characters, a beautifully crafted world, and a unique take on the demon realm that felt magical and fresh. Leigh Miller has a way of drawing you in and making you want to stay in her world forever.

I loved this so much! Leigh Miller just has a way of spinning a web of amazing worlds and characters that draws you in so quickly! Part of a series, it can be read as a stand-alone.
Joan’s (FMC) big heart - her capacity to love and care for others- is a wonderful thing. The ability to see her point of view as the events in the story progressed was a real treat. And Rhett (MMC) is just one big demonic cinnamon roll! Reading his point of view had me chuckling as his possessive thoughts towards Joan were revealed. Watching him trying to make inroads and get to know her was also a treat.
For those who like spice, there are some pleasantly steamy scenes on the page- one is interrupted but the rest play out to completion.
All in all, this is a wonderfully whimsical story of fated mates with some inter realm conflict, inter species mating, and plenty of enjoyable banter. Definitely give this one a look!

The realms are open and the veil is healed. Now there is a thief among the humans taking precious crystals from the demon mines. Joan is outside of the coven, but her debts need to be paid. She’s forced to work side by side with a demon to find the truth. He knows she’s his mate, but is he willing to tell her the truth? Are they enough to solve the mystery of the missing crystals? This story was a fascinating quick read. Some smut, a decent plot. He falls first vibes. Knotting. Demons. Witches. One bed. So many troupes. It’s a good follow up to the first one.

Absolutely loved the second book of the Crescent Coven series.
We jump right back in with Joan and Rhett having to work together to investigate some crystal theft in Rhett's village by suspected Crescent cove witches.
They immediately aren't huge fans of each other and I loved seeing them slowly break down their walls for each other.
I really really enjoyed the mystery plot line and getting to see them work together and explore the demon realm, especially when we got some Eren & Allie cameos from book 1!
I LOVED all the "my mate"
it had me kicking and giggling throughout.

The absolute chokehold the Crescent Coven storyline has on me is inane. I loved this slow burn! But when it stops being slow…the spice is hot!! It almost doesn’t feel right to say the same book I just described also had a cozy vibe, but it did. We need more Rhett’s in this world.

Cleared a lot of complaints I had with the first one. Deeper relationship than just a mate bond, more exploration of the demon and human realm.
Bit of a deus ex machina on solving their interrealm mate hood problems at the end there but I don’t know what else they would have done lol

Thank you Leigh Miller for the ARC in exchange for my honest review! I promise I love this book, and my late review does not reflect on my love for their romance.

FMC’s name is Joan. She is somewhere in her mid to late twenties?
MMC’s name is Rhett. He is also somewhere in his mid to late twenties? I’m assuming anyways. I don’t remember their ages being outright mentioned, but that could be me missing it completely.
There are no others after meeting. FMC is not very sexually active, and I don’t think the MMC has been either this past year (since his Dad passed away). No OW. Mild OM drama in the form that Joan’s ex David is a pest. He doesn’t want Joan back, nor does he make a play for her, but he does have a role in the story.
No protection used, the FMC uses a spell to keep herself safe from pregnancy. I don’t believe there are diseases demons can pass to humans? Nor humans to demons.
My thoughts?
First off, I have been anticipating Joan’s story since the first book in this series. Patiently waiting is not usually my thing, but Leigh Miller released some of my now-favourite books between that point and now. Still, I had high expectations for this book and man were they met. They only thing I will make note on is there is a third act hiccup, that is mixed in with the climax of the story. Joan’s actions made sense to me at the time of reading. The argument Rhett and Joan had was one that would shake any relationship and the fact that Joan had a better memory than me wasn’t shocking ha! I got so caught up in the climax of the story I had slightly forgotten what had happened beforehand. They end up in a HEA, and it was heart warming.
I don’t know if it would be possible, but a bonus chapter with Rhett and Joan’s “beast” Poe would be adorable.
I would have loved to see more of Joan’s power at play, considering Rhett mentions at the beginning of the book that Joan is a powerful witch. Her magic isn’t the coveted form that the coven wants to keep in power. The coven..oh man that coven. If I could write hate mail it would be towards the coven. There’s so much back stabbing, and neglect that happens to the young witches that no longer are “acceptable” witches, with “weak” magic. Being different is not weakness, but that coven treats it like it is. You either pass their test, are seen as worthy and strong enough to stay with being trained by the elder witches, or you get sent off to non-magical elementary school.
Granted, it did lead to one of my favourite parts of the book- Joan’s coven. Made up of witches how no longer participate in the coven, but still want the sisterhood it’s full of support and familial type bonds. I ate up the scenes they were in, and would also love a bonus chapter of Rhett settling into that bond.
Overall, this is a romantic book that is filled with adventure, mystery, romance, and uncovers a part of the demon realm that hadn’t been seen in the first book. Rhett’s growth, and Joan’s growing adaptability was heartwarming to read about. Rhett helped Joan heal from the trust issues that had grown when he was not in her life, and Joan helped Rhett unclip his wings again. They really are beautiful mates, and I can’t wait to see them pop up in future books much like Allie and Eren played roles in this book.

I loved the first book in this series but this one was just fine. I loved that Joan owned a tea shop and had a cat named Poe; we didn't get to spend nearly enough time with either. She and Rhett were fine together, I supposed, but the conflicts and emotional arcs were unearned and everything felt flat as a result. Oh well.

Before diving into this book, make sure to read the warnings and see if it's really something you're comfortable with.
Even though this is the second book in the series, I got into the story without any problems, which is great. In the first book, the author focuses on Queen Allie and King Eren, while in the second book we get to know Allie's friend Joan and her mate - Rhett.
I really liked the setting, Joan's shop and her friends. I have a soft spot for witches and demons, so the story started off promising.
I was hoping for enemies to lovers, but even though it was finely outlined, it didn't develop much, which made me sad. I think Rhett and Joan hit it off quickly. As for smut, unfortunately it didn't suit me. I liked some moments as well as Rhett's expressions of love towards Joan, but his possessiveness sometimes crossed the line. I had higher expectations from the story, especially when it started so well. In the end, it turned out to be quite a nice relaxing read, when you simply don't have to think.
On the other hand, I really liked the fact that the author did not forget to include the love. I liked the looks, the gentle touches, the kisses, and the relationship between Allie and Eren (even they are not the main couple) - love screamed beautifully from them.
Overall, I rate this book average. Even though she has her negatives, I also found positives here that I liked. I recommend it to fans of paranormal and monster romance.

ARC Review:
I have become a big Leigh Miller fan over the last year reading her fantasy/monster romance novels. Demon’s Bane is another incredible book for me that I loved and was so excited to go back into this world.
If demons, witches, and different realms are your vibe then this is definitely the book to check out. They are some of my favorites when it comes to fantasy so it was an easy yes for me to pick up.

I’d been eagerly waiting for this book ever since I finished the first one—and it didn’t disappoint! The twist in the story was brilliant, and I absolutely loved it. The banter between the main leads was so much fun, especially since they didn’t want to be partners but still had to work together—and slowly fell in love along the way.
Joan was my absolute favorite, and as always, the spice in Miller's books is chef’s kiss—so perfectly written and always hot. 🔥
That said, while this book was great, the first one will still remain my favorite. ❤️

This book is extremely enjoyable and entertaining✨
The ultimate palette cleanser, the plot is fast paced, the characters are full of personality.
I read demons bride first which was the recommended reading order by the author and I am so glad I did. The inclusion and expansion of the demon world was really fun to me.
The only downside is I truly wish we learned more about Joan’s magic but other than that it was a quick fun reading experience🔮💫a must for any monster romance readers!

Crescent Coven really knows how to alienate a witch - in this next installment of the series, we get to meet Allie's best friend, Joan. While I would say you could likely read this book independently of book 1, you wouldn't want to (that love story is just deliciously tense and steamy).
Joan is our witch owning her life away from the toxicity of the coven we get to see a bit of in book 1. She's probably one of my more favorite PNR FMCs in that she creates a space for anyone looking to belong - like her - in the tea shop she's put together entirely on her own. While she can't seem to push back on the request of her high priestess, she does end up putting herself in situations that push her personal boundaries of security and safety..
.. which can be most likely attributed to the reluctant alliance she forms with Rhett, our MMC and representative of the demon realm looking to identify and bring to justice witches who are stealing from his village. Rhett is a bit of a loner in his own way - his life has taken him places he never thought the would get to travel but recent upheavals in his personal life have brought him home to help his village.
The chemistry that crackles between the two of these characters is POPPIN. The intensity of longing and devotion Rhett is battling against for the 'little witch' who's stolen every thought in his mind is swoon-worthy and so dang hot. And while Joan may not be the scrappiest witch of the coven, she has no issues holding her ground in moments that matter and we love an FMC who knows her worth.
If you like:
- when he falls first and harder but refuses to let what he wants/needs/craves be expressed fully for fear of influencing her feelings
- reluctant allies with chemistry where one understands the cellular level of their connection and the other just chalks it up to butterflies and undeniable physical attraction
- getting greater peeks into the world of magic and realm-building you're introduced to in book 1..
.. you're going to enjoy this read as much as I did - I can't wait to see where we go next in Crescent Coven!

The book is another great addition to the Celestial Coven series. Though, it could be read as a standalone within the series, I would highly recommend reading the Demon’s Bride first. In the first book, you get the set up of the world and politics that is only expanded within this book.
Joan and Rhett are quite the pair. Both wanted to deviate from the leaders of their society, but end up having to work together to solve a crime committed in Rhett’s small village.
Rhett knows right away Joan is his mate, but is forced to be patient until she realizes the same. Being that humans don’t have mates, it was quite entertaining to watch Rhett be sexually and emotionally frustrated for a good chunk of the book. Joan, secretly into Rhett, still considers him a nuisance, and her enemy, so she isn’t looking to get cuddly with the demon lurking in her home.
Joan takes no crap from anyone, and she is very much a force to be reckoned with, even with minimal magic. Even though she broke off from her coven, she has created a found family of all witches that didn’t live up to par to be considered important within their coven. Joan now must decide if she wants to keep the small pocket that she has carved out for herself within the world, or join back with the coven once she completes her mission.
Rhett is plagued with guilt throughout the book because he wasn’t there for his family and village when his father passed away. He took on this case to be able to make up for all the time he spent away to prove to the people of the village of his care, and dedication to where he grew up. He will have to decide how he wants to live the rest of his life is it by making up for last time or being selfish and conducting a future that was not his traditional path.
By working together are they able to solve the unknown mystery on who is stealing from the village? And will they be faced with choosing a future testing the devotion, dedication and acceptance within both our communities?

This was such a lovely read. I really enjoyed getting know Joan and Rhett and seeing their story play out. I loved the pacing of their relationship throughout the book while they work together to solve a mystery. Joan gets backed into a bit of a corner by Esme into helping Rhett uncover the culprits behind some thefts in his village. While she isn’t too happy about the situation, the possibility of sticking it to Esme and the coven is a great motivator. We get to see Joan and Rhett form a reluctant alliance that builds into much more as they work together. And the steam? There was plenty. I was excited for this book and it did not disappoint.
It was also nice seeing Allie and Eren have supporting roles. Sometimes I get nervous when a previous FMC and MMC make an appearance because I’m always worried about their happily ever after, but I didn’t have to worry about any of that here. It was good to see Allie in her role as a queen and that her friendship with Joan and vice versa isn’t diminished because of their respective relationships or the distance between realms.
Which is related to another highlight of the book for me, female characters supporting other female characters. Sure, the Crescent Coven has its drama, and if you read the first book you already met Esme, but most of the women in these books support and aid each other. That automatically adds so many extra points for me.
Demon’s Bane checks a lot of boxes for me, and I am really hoping the ending means we’ll get to see more Crescent Coven books.

Things I liked:
- The story was quite fast-paced and had spice at the right moments
- The FMC was very sorta independent and didn't need a man which I love. She knew when to stand up for herself and her identity.
- The MMC is really good in this book, he's not clingy, gives her space, and supports her. Sure he does get a little overprotective at times, but that's okay.
- The connection between the FMC and MMC is written very well. They just make sense and they get the time they need to know each other.
- I love how Po (FMC's cat) is close to MMC despite his size and magic.
Things that could be better:
- I got too engrossed in the relationship and completely forgot about the real story.
- The spicy parts were slow.

Gosh. Leigh Miller just does not stop! Her stories wrap you up in a little cocoon of sunshine, hot spice and coziness, with some growly, possessive, mates who mean well. Touch her and die vibes are hella strong AND the knotting is 🤌.
I'm not usually a warm and fuzzy reader, but this is not the typical warm and fuzzy. The characters are flawed but relatable and they don't make it their main pillar of their character, which is so nice because they come off as genuine rather than whiney.
This is the second book in the Crescent Coven series. This could definitely be a stand alone but they are heavily interconnected and you'd really lose a lot of the substance of what is happening in this book if you skip the first one.
Normally witches and demons have such typical stereotypes when it comes to how they are written or how they are portrayed, Leigh Miller writes them different from the same old same old. I adore when authors take a common theme and twist it into something even better.
This is a medium to,at times, fast paced book with meaningful characters, great steamy buildup with heavyyyyyy spice that is quite honestly some of the best out there. I have literally nothing bad to say, other than I want more time with everyone in all the different realms.

Wow, Joan and Rhett what an amazing story!!! Watching the two of them grow from avoiding each from mistrust to eventually finding happiness in each other was amazing to watch.
Seeing Joan navigate her way through this new challenge she’s been dragged into, while housing a demon that she wants nothing do with and is slightly scared of. All because High Priestess Esme cannot leave her alone to enjoy the life she created. This book was a roller coaster with so many moving parts. Rhett’s history making it hard for them to come together because they both want to be together, but Rhett wants to stay in his town. While Joan wants to get back to her life in the human realm. Watching them struggle to figure out how to stay together while also fighting to figure what’s going on between the Coven and demon realm the main reason they came together to begin with. I loved reading this book so much and I’m so happy for how everything worked about!!!

If you want a smutty fantasy romance with demons and just enjoy their story, this is a perfect book for you. It is set in a world that is dealing with the relationship between demons and humans.
I liked the relationship between Joan and Rhett. Even though it was really fast-paced, we could see how they fell in love and together they embraced their mating bond. I also enjoyed the author's writing, it was easy to read and I could understand the world even without the first book. You could also see the characters from the first book which was really nice.
However (this is my opinion, if you think otherwise, that is totally fine) they got together very early and Rhett was sometimes a little annoying. Also the sex scenes were not my cup of tea.
If we got a little bit more tension, maybe more action in the story or more witches and that background, it could have worked more for me. Still, if you find the synopsis interesting, you can try this book and see for yourself.

First and foremost thank you @authorleighmiller for the ARC copy in return for an honest review. Now, to the couple Joan and Rhett, they are so swoon worthy. I gushed so much when Rhett used to call Joan "My Mate" and the way he skulked around in her shop. 🫠🫠🫠🫠 I loved Joan who created a coven out of the coven and made a life even when Esme and the coven disappointed her. I loved how Rhett used to grumble and fuss over Joan's security. And how they navigated their way through their problems and hurdles. And the cameo of my 1st monster/witch couple Allie and Eren😶🌫😶🌫😶🌫. I want you to leave what you're reading and read it ASAP. The bits of the book are predictable yet exciting.

This was absolute perfection!
I loved Joan and Rhett, her since we first saw her in "Demon's Bride" and him as soon as he entered her tea shop.
I truly felt like time stopped when he saw her, recognizing his mate.
The story was interesting, but I'm not giving the book five stars because I immediately knew they were the villain as soon as a character appeared on the page. The resolution itself was a bit rushed and felt very superficial, I would've liked something more.
This didn't impact how much I adored this story, its characters, and the wonderful cameo from Allie and Eren from "Demon's Bride"!
