I left the marines to find my sister. I never expected the war to follow me.

All I ever wanted was to explore new worlds, but when my sister vanished during a battle with a ruthless alien horde, my mission became clear—find her at all costs. My search for her leads me to join forces with a desperate blonde princess seeking help. Now, we’re both caught in a war that threatens not just her empire, but the entire galaxy.

Along the way, we gather a few unlikely allies, including a sharp-tongued, brilliant engineer who’s as dangerous as she is stunning. But the fate of the galaxy hinges on powers I barely understand—and if I can’t master them in time, a ruthless madman will unleash a devastating plague that could annihilate everything.

The fate of the galaxy hangs in the balance. I won’t let them down.

I DNF this book on page 82, as it was just too farcical to read for me.

Much of the beginning of the book is silly, with the MC and his first LI making googly eyes at each other after he helps her escape from the planet she's on, before finding out she's the princess of the space group or whatever it is. There's a shootout that makes for some mild drama, but other than that, it's pretty boring. They get away, and go to a sector/system she was told to go to in case of trouble.

They get to the planet in question, and there's nobody alive. Then the space battleship that tried to stop them shows up... in the atmosphere. Most fiction has capital ships staying out of the atmosphere, as they aren't designed for that kind of thing. The battleship tries to capture them, and then begins the dumbest sequence in a space opera type story I've ever seen.

First, during the initial maneuvers, the woman starts to slip, so the MC grabs her, puts her in his lap facing him, and buckles them in together. So her (yes, those) are pressed up against his chin pretty much, and he can't really see out the windshield of his ship, a freighter. Then, because they can't outrun the battleship, he hits the brakes so the battleship overshoots them.

Let that sink in for a moment. He hits THE BRAKES on a spaceship and it comes to a complete stop... in atmospheric conditions safe for a human to walk about without any gear. Brakes on a spaceship... The mind boggles at the concept.

I don't require every space opera to have perfect science in them. But at least some common sense would be nice.

This is very good.

This is definitely worth a read and deserves many more reviews. Found this through the haremlit page on FB, looked like a good sci-fi story and that’s exactly what it is. It’s like Mass Effect, Star Wars (the good ones), and guardians of the galaxy all rolled into one.

Great news space harem adventure!

I agree with the authors afterwards about the need to get the Sci-Fi genre more involved with the Men's Adventure type familial relationship type stories. Science fiction like the "Forever War" and "Starship Troopers" got me hooked on the Sci-Fi genre. However there was one novel out there that I read way back in the mid-eighties as a kid that eluded to what both the fantasy and sci-fi genre could turn into and has mixed in with Men's Adventure, that novel was Hienlen's "Glory Road". If you haven't read it pick it up, it's a short novel, and you will see what this novel has done to further the fun! Can't wait for the next book!

it was a fun romp around the galaxy, but not without its problems and it did take me a while to finish as I lost interest a couple times.
The author uses onomatopoeia like "bang" and "snap" which is childish and annoying but it isn't used too often.
The fights are extremely confusing, such that I couldn't follow what was happening and getting turned around, thinking one thing was happening but it was another. Same for descriptions of what's happening sometimes.
I cared more about the characters that die than the MC and his ladies. I was not happy with the last LI addition either, so I don't think I'll be continuing this series.

Great book with some caveats

I really love the book, but everything just kinda flew by so fast. This book should have slowed it down and been 2 or 3 books with more content. Flying through the story unfortunately makes some of romance and action feel cheaper than it should be. I know it's hard when you're trying to put so much plot in one book, but in my opinion, the speed and less detail that's this book took it from an amazing book to only a really good book. Hopefully, they slow it down for the next one.

Exciting and thrilling!

Definitely worth a read!
Fun action Packed adventure with an Ex-Marine pilot, fugitive princess, an adrenaline junkie engineer and a sassy AI forced on the run for crimes they didn't commit and the conspiracy of a mad scientist threatening to bring down entire civilizations.

Looking forward to seeing where this series goes!

Good Read

First thing I d like to mention is never refer to someone as an ex Marine. Once a Marine, always a Marine. Once you earn the title UT stays with you for life and beyond. I really like the pace of the book and the action. The characters are good but a bit corny in vocabulary. It could have had a lot more adult situations/sexcepades in it to really spice it up to.

Mediocre

This was so mediocre and forgettable. You can read it one minute and you will forget it the next. Read it while you wait for better books.

(Audible). Sexy women have adventures in space. I would not read a sequel.

It's kind of fun to whip through a bunch of stuff and see if it's any good at the hook. This one came across as super misogynist and that's a no from me dawg.
