The Great Bazaar has always been a safe haven for misfits and creatures. With most of them hunted ever since the war began, Asher has tried his best to provide hope for all that come there, unlike the ringmaster before him. He never thought Owen of all people would come back home with one of the most hunted creatures in tow. A witch. The witch everyone was after. One that he was convinced could enchant any man. He was faced with a go against everything he believed in and cast them out or face a love he never thought was possible.

“You shine even in the darkness.”

“If you leave tonight, I thought you should know that.”

In book one Shara and Owen found love with each other and now it's time to bring Asher into the fold to complete their trio. Except things are not going as planned. Asher seems to want nothing to do with Shara, but yet seems to want everything to do with her. Shara doesn't trust him, but yet her way of seeing someone's intentions tell her she can. It's a mess, but she wants to do this for Owen. She wants to do this for her and they are on limited time.

What to Expect:
📖Why Choose
📖Tension
📖MM &FM
📖Touch Her and --
📖Me! (As a character -- your fellow neighborhood witchling)
📖Magic Carnaval
📖Spicy
📖Vampires, Witches, & Shifters OH MY

Side note with Ashley Rambles:

This book spends a lot of time with Shara and Asher getting to know each other, but in very unusual ways. Both sort of have assumptions on the other and a lot would have been made clear if they were just opened and honest with each other. The amount of times I yelled at Asher through the book may be slightly embarrassing. On the other hand I understand Asher's hesitance and the WANT to make assumptions rather than learn the truth--Book One is a huge indication of how much he gave his heart to Owen only to be abandoned without a goodbye. Which also on the other hand infuriated me because WHY are you taking this out on Shara when Owen was the base cause of all your emotional damage.

“We’re all sinners here, little witch. If you thought me sweet, you were misguided. This is no world for that.”

What you’ll find in this book:
- Dark Carnival
- Why Choose
- Spice
- MMF
- Touch Her and Die
- Reverse Harem
- Magic & Mystery
- High Stakes

This book made my heart hurt in ways a book hasn’t in a long time, I truly wasn’t sure what to expect with this book, knowing the complexity of the relationships between the three characters I wasn’t sure if Owen and Sahara’s return to the Great Bazaar would be a warm home coming or very much the cold shoulder. Putting this aside I was so excited to rejoin the Great Bazaar and discover all of the magic and mystery it has to offer, Danielle absolutely treats us with a plethora of new characters and creatures in this book. This book draws you in with the gentlest of hand and keeps you enraptured with the mystery and darkness of a story filled with so much yearning and passion, where the stakes are so high at all times.

This book follows directly on from the events of shifted, where we rejoin Shara and Owen as they rejoin the Great Bazaar, from Owen this means a warm welcome home but for Shara this experience is trickier especially when it comes to trying to figure out the now ringmaster Asher. With the Great Bazaar having become a firm safe haven for misfits and creatures that have no other space to call home within Laylol since the war began, we get to explore the Great Bazaar in its entirety and all of the creatures it calls home. With no one expecting Owen to return home let alone with the most hunted witch in the continent in toe, one with which they have all heard many rumours, it is up to Asher to decide if keeping everyone within the Great Bazaar safe is worth casting away a love he could only dream of.

For me the characters are a massive part of this book of course but this is balanced by amazing world building. I would like to begin by saying Asher is an absolute idiot, he is possibly the most frustrating character I’ve come across in a long time, he gets so in his own way. I understand he is trying to keep everyone safe but he only ends up hurting himself and those around him by pushing Shara away. Asher and Shara very much take the main character position in these books, Owen is present and we do get some story from his POV, but he does take more of a backseat in this story. This tale is very much Shara and Asher working to understand if they fit together and what they mean to each other, Shara has come to the Great Bazaar for Owen, or at least it originally seems that way but her attraction for Asher is evident from the outset. Asher is cold and aloof for most of this book, so far removed from the character we met in Shifted. He has hardened himself to being hurt and closing himself off from everyone and everything, and I was so intrigued to see if Shara would manage to break through and uncover his heart and his secrets. I feel for Shara so much, she is given a hint of getting something back she thought she had lost forever, a home. Watching her fight for this opportunity, and what she wants gives that fire to the story and provides for the most fabulous banter. For me I would of loved more time after everyone gives into what they want so I could have more time with these three together, I didn’t feel like I had enough so I’m excited to see if Danielle gives us more of this content them I’m absolutely yearning for in coming books.

As I’ve mentioned the world building in this book and the exploration of the Great Bazaar is amazing, I was so intrigued to discover new parts of the carnival, especially knowing that different parts of the carnival are created specifically for the creatures and people that survive there taking inspiration from their original homes within Laylol. Danielle has taken the time to create such detailed locations and environments and it adds to this amazing story. I have to mention the amazing creatures that Danielle has also created, I was so pleasantly surprised by some of them and enthralled by others. Everything is crafted which such care that you can’t help but fall head first in love with this story even if it hurts. The ending was bittersweet for me, but I can’t wait to see where Danielle takes this series next!

Thank you so much to the author for sending me a copy to read and review early.

ARC Reader Review

My Rating: 2/5⭐️

The Plot: After Shara and Owen establish themselves as a couple, they decide that they also want to include Asher (Owen’s love interest from the first book) into their relationship. Owen writes to Asher, and Asher sends them tickets to the carnival. Unfortunately, after that, pretty much nothing happens for the next 300 pages. It’s a lot of back and forth of Shara thinking Asher is evil, him proving why he’s not evil, her thinking he’s evil again, him proving he’s not again… over and over for the entire middle of the book. There is a LOT of circular dialogue and not much movement with the plot. Eventually, 75% through the book, they meet a bunch of witches that Asher has hidden away. They tell Asher that Shara will be the downfall of the carnival, but he still decides to be with her anyway.

What I Liked: Hmm. I guess the all-powerful witch could have been cool, unfortunately, it was difficult to pull out the important bits of information about her past and powers with all the going around in circles of whether Asher was evil or not.

What I Didn’t Like: Honestly, I just think this book was not for me. The writing style did not mesh well with me and I didn’t find any of the characters likable or relatable. I was bored for most of the book, because it really was just Shara and Asher talking in circles about Asher being evil / Asher not being evil. There is not much of a plot at all, it’s just a lot of dialogue that does not drive the plot forward. There is mention of war and danger and Shara being on the run from witch hunters, but we don’t really see any of that. I would have preferred that action instead of Asher and Shara going back and forth for most of the book. I didn’t understand the magic system at all - there is one point where Shara is fading from existence and someone shoves some dirt in her mouth to make her stay… this happens all in the span of one paragraph and we don’t find out why the dirt in her mouth has that effect asides from “it’s a simple workaround”

Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review! This one wasn’t for me but that doesn’t mean that others won’t enjoy it.

Shara and Owen now face the challenge of bringing Asher into their trio. But Asher’s actions confuse everything—he keeps Shara at a distance, yet seems drawn to her in ways she can’t ignore. Shara’s trust wavers, but a part of her wants to believe in him. It’s a complicated, fragile balance, and with time slipping away, she’s determined to make it work—for Owen, for herself, and for all of them.

This book follows Shara and Asher as they navigate their relationship in unexpected ways. Both hold onto biases about one another, and much of the misunderstanding could have been resolved through honest and open communication. Shara hides her true self, fearing rejection—but when the carnival accepts her anyway, she begins to wonder if she truly belongs. Yet the biggest hurdle is Asher, whose acceptance could change everything. A story of self-discovery, belonging, and heart-wrenching choices that will leave you captivated.

A world where magic and mystery intertwine with sizzling passion and heartfelt moments. This story wraps you in a warm, sexy embrace filled with playful banter, devastating trials, and glimmers of hope. A captivating addition to the series that will leave you spellbound and eager for more.

“We’d search for you. We would never stop. I’m willing for you to condemn us to that life.”

Transformed by Danielle Cancel was one of my most anticipated reads this month and it did not disappoint at all! I have absolutely fallen in love with Owen, Shara, and Asher and just needed to more about their story. This was the perfect way to *end* their story (for NOWWWWW). *note: this is part of the Shifted duology, which is also a spinoff of Blood and Sunlight, so it is best to read all the books!!

Owen and Shara have had my heart since Blood and Sunlight! I always loved the way they interacted with each other because it showed how much history and connection they had towards each other. Asher stole my heart almost immediately. This book made me fall in love with him even more. He truly loves both Shara and Owen but finds it difficult to admit and accept that for himself. I enjoyed reading his story and watching him grow tremendously as a character.

I am absolutely thrilled to learn more about these three incredible characters in the next Blood and Sunlight books! I NEED to see what happens next for them! I highly suggest reading this book as well as Danielle’s other books, you won’t be disappointed!

A witch and a shifter walk into a circus... How hard can it be to convince a hot ring master to form a triad with his ex and his ex's new partner?

The only things standing in their way is pride, a timed deal which benefits absolutely no one, witch hunters, secrets, and a mysterious stranger.

For fans of found family, teasing, aggressive stubbornness, s3xual tension, self-appointed martyrs, and second chances.

I have the same problem with the narration as I did in the first book; there are different POV chapters, but the narrator voice is third person omnipotent. So on occasion we're told information that the POV character is likely unaware of. This is not a flaw in itself, but well outside of my reading comfort zone.

Transformed is more dialogue/internal monologue heavy than Shifted was. I enjoy the interactions between Asher and Shara, and their teasing, but it did bring the pace down quite abit.

The story itself is interesting, and I'm routinely intrigued to learn more about Layol, its magic and its creature. Besides that, we've been introduced to more character mysteries that I enjoyed unraveling.

3.5 stars

I love these characters. The characters and the world are so well developed and I really enjoy reading this duology.

I wish more was explained about the war. A Crone (with a capital C) is mentioned a few times but I feel like that could have been expanded on or better explained. The 12 or 13 witches also. It’s almost like this is a spinoff on a bigger series where these things are explained and it’s assumed you know the lore…? Idk if that is the case but I will definitely read this author’s other books.

The sexual tension endured much longer than I expected given the first 40 pages of book 1.

*** spoilers ***
Ok so Shara doesn’t want to touch Asher because she can read his soul and is afraid she’ll find out they’re not a match. Sure ok. So she avoids touching him for half the book, but then… this storyline just kind of disappears?

Justice for Emily!!!! 😭😭😭

The number of times sex is started or half started or almost started and then interrupted is truly astonishing.

⭐️ Book Review ⭐️
I would like to thank @dmcancel for this physical copy! Please check out @dmcancel page for more details about this duology because it’s such a great read!

⚠️ There is some spoilers if you have not read book 1 (shifted)⚠️

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

With that being said, this duology follows the Shara and Owen from book 1 and their return to Great Bazaar. With this difficult and emotional journey, the magic and fantasy elements that goes into this book is amazing especially with how Danielle weaves in both the emotional elements and introduction to new characters. While there are frustrating characters such as Asher, it brought some fire into the book itself. One aspect that I wish the book touched on more would be the world building because I felt like there needed to be more detail about the war. Sorry, I do not want to spoil to much for those who have not read the series! Overall, I am happy with this book and would recommend everyone to give it a try!

I loved getting to know Asher more in the second book. It was fun to see the comparisons between Asher and Owen and how they both interacted with Shara.

Also can we talk about the tension between Asher and Shara!? They’re so alike, but both blind to how compatible they are. So many moments where I thought things were gonna get spicy and then one of them would decide to ruin it due to lack of trust in the other.

I liked how it ended, but it did feel a bit rushed. I wish more of the magic and reasoning behind why they did certain things was fleshed out a bit more.

Overall it was a fun read. The story and magic are intriguing and I like the idea of a high witch. It made me want to find out more about Shara’s background while she was on the run.

I loved seeing Owen return to Asher, even though it isn't as straightforward as they had hoped. Owen and Shara have bonded, making things a bit more complicated, but he still very much wants Asher. The only question now is, will Shara and Asher want each other in addition to Owen?

As Shara does her best to hide what she is, she soon realizes that there are those who accept her anyway. The real challenge is accepting that she could truly belong here with the carnival. But that's almost entirely up to Asher. This tore me apart in the best ways.

I wish there was a way to rate with decimals on Goodreads because this was a solid 3.8 for me, in a good way. I enjoyed the story of Shara, Owen and Asher. Is it the best story ever? No. Did I have a good time reading it? Yes. The middle of the story had me losing some concentration but overall, I enjoyed.

First off I'd like to thank Danielle for sending me an early read. I was so super excited and it was hard waiting for Book 2.

With that being said, I felt the beginning started great and the last 25% of the book also. The middle kinda felt a little slow for me, unfortunately. Maybe I'm just greedy and wanted more 😅
Owen and Shara return to the carnival... which we all couldn't wait for.. right? Then for what seems like forever Shara and Asher go back and forth with not trusting one another. It takes a hot minute for these two to get with it and give us what we'd been waiting for lol.

My favorite part..... I will say that first scene with the three of them... when you know you'll know 🥵🥵🥵 oh my.. Loved it! You can most definitely write a spicy scene my girl!!

I wanted to love this book so much more. I will say I still enjoyed myself and would recommend especially if you loved the first book and are finding yourself wanting.... and I for one can't wait for them to show up in future stories! This book is also absolutely gorgeous 😍

I slowly devoured this book because I simply did not want it to end. It is everything magical, mystical and wonderful wrapped up in a sexy warm hug! Add in a little devastation and hope and some banter for such a good addition to this series.

I couldn’t wait to get back into Layol and finish the story of Owen, Shara, and Asher! The story of how they became three was a fun read. If you aren’t here for the details, then this book may not be for you but if you love banter and details, this story does not disappoint!

I enjoyed the book and loved the characters. This was a very slow burn. There was minimal spice but when there was some it was pretty hot. There was a big chunk of the book that was will they/won’t they. There were a lot of trust issues between Shara and Asher.

This sequel to Shifted brings you right back to the heart of Shara and Owens' lives since meeting. This book is absolutely stunning in its imagery and weaving the story perfectly to fit. I couldn't put this book down and its well worth the read!!
The Great Bazaar offers many things including Owens found family. Asher does NOT want Shara there at first and they both much work towards getting to know each other. Shara is a wanted witch and Asher had seen the wanted posters. Owen had taken Shara back to the bazaar. Asher is now the ringmaster of the bazaar and is responsible for the people and performers. This magical place is a found family for all who are apart of the bazaar. Things get complicated right away. Owen has offered Asher an opportunity to share Shara with him. Asher is determined to stay away from Shara, however, there is something deeper pulling them all together.

What happens to the bazaar and the trio when danger threatens to kill them all? will Shara earn Asher's respect, his heart, or everything? Danger is afoot and they must be on their guard. Secrets will be spilled between all of them.
