Arianne is dead. But what will rise from the ashes?

Arianne lost everything–the love of her life, her family, her friends, and her home. All things considered, she’s ready to give up. Miraculously surviving her execution, she wakes up in the ancient heart of the northern forests of Pangaea. Surrounded by a legendary tribe of warrior mutants, she learns her retirement plan is about to change.

Halfway across the continent, Keston struggles to hold onto the last thing worth fighting for–his sister. But such a task is made difficult with the company he’s forced to his estranged father, a mad scientist, an even madder cyborg, and the tyrant that started it all. Struggling with grief and a crippling identity crisis, can Keston protect what is left of his heart, or will his path of good intentions twist him into something more sinister?

As global tensions rise, legends hidden for decades begin to awaken. Amidst heartbreak, revenge, and more life-changing secrets, does the next generation of heroes have what it takes to write new legends, or will they be lost to the winds of history? Find out in the heart-wrenching The Martyr’s Shadow, book three in the Legends of Pangaea series!

Absolutely phenomenal. This takes the series to a completely new level. I was blown away every single page every single twist every single turn. The characters in this book really do pull it. Every heart string you could ever have. You will learn to love them you will learn to hate them. You may even learn to despise some. Check out this amazing book by an amazing author. You’re gonna love it.

I've been following this series since the beginning and just can I say...

*shrieking bird noises*

This book is I.D. Marie's best yet! (!!!) Book 3 in the Legends of Pangaea picks up where book 2 leaves off, and we find our heroine, as well as the other two POV characters struggling to find their way when they feel like they've lost everything. But as the mysterious and enigmatic Selvian "Ductor"tells Arianne, "you can always lose more".

One of the things I really enjoyed about this book was seeing Arianne's character arc. She begins the book having lost...well, honestly quite a lot (but not everything!). She's sad, depressed, and would love nothing more than to just lay in the freezing waters of Selvian territory. But throughout the book, she learns that she does have things to fight for, and plenty to learn if she doesn't want the Fera to be wiped from existence by those pesky Pangeans.

I also really liked getting to learn more about the Selvian Fera, their society, and more about "mature" vs immature Fera. And can I say...SYGRID? Arianne's reluctant mentor easily became one of my new favorite characters of the series. The scene towards the end where she showed her true colors easily gave me chills.

NO SPOILER REVIEW but the last chapter??? I screamed. Literally. I did not see that one coming.

I will be anxiously awaiting Book 4 of the series!

Another exciting entry in the Legends of Pangaea series! The stakes are raised even higher and the setting was expanded in some interesting ways. There’s a lot to unpack here, but the ending kickstarted the story into overdrive and delivered! I am very interested to see where the series goes from here!
