ARC REVIEW “BEWITCHED BY THE HEADLESS HORSEMAN” 🧡✨

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

🎭Tropes:
✨ Headless Horseman MMC
✨ Small town
✨ Spooky vibes
✨ Witches, demons, ghosts
✨ Paranormal Romance

This book is so perfect for fall! Such a cozy romance book with witches, a hot Headless Horseman named Kit, witches and spooky vibes.

This book follows the events from the small town, Sleepy Hollow, in which Stevie, a witch assistant meets Kit, the Headless Horseman in a ghost form. She begins to help him to find his head and in this journey she falls for him. Their relationship is so funny, lots of bickering included and their pet names cracked me up every single time.

I loved the characters from this book, the sidekicks of the main characters and the spooky vibes. It was a cozy and quick romance read, I fell actually in love with Kik too, not just Stevie. So I recommend to be read in fall with a hot chocolate near the book. I want to be a local in Sleepy Hollow too actually. ✨🖤🧡

Overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5
Spicy content 🌶🌶🌶/5

Firstly I want to say thank you to Candace for this ARC.

This book is such a good cosy read, I genuinely adored every moment of it! This book puts a magical, romantic, and slightly spooky twist on the classic legend of the Headless Horseman, which was really refreshing and it works. I loved everything about this story, from its haunting charm to its fresh and clever take on a well-known myth. Even if there were moments where I wondered how it could be a romance if he was headless. But the way it was done... fantastic!

The world-building is absolutely wonderful. It completely pulled me in with its atmospheric setting, enchanting details, witches, suspence and rich autumn vibes. If you're someone who loves the following vibes, think flickering candles, misty woods, small-town magic, and the whisper of something otherworldly, then this book is for you.

The characters are just as loveable as the world around them, which makes it the perfect read to curl up with under a blanket.

I highly recommend this for fans of witchy vibe reads, Halloween lore, and stories that feel like a warm cup of cider with a haunting little twist. 🍂🖤✨

I started my spooky reading early this year and have zero regrets. I started off strong with Bewitched by the Headless Horseman by Candace Robinson.

Stevie, a seer has been able to see ghosts for as long as she can remember and is also a witches assistant running local deliveries and assisting in mixing brews.

It’s the beginning of The Eye of Sleepy Hollow, when two magical new moons would fall a cycle apart. Basically, when the dead could see the living for 30 days.

And while Stevie loves communicating and assisting the dead to make peace with their loved ones, she also ran into The Headless Horseman, who is taking the heads of other ghosts….
What is he doing with all these heads?!

Failing at pretending like she cannot see him, they end up forming a flirtatious friendship. And The Headless Horseman? He needs help. Stevie’s help.

If you like:
the movie Halloweentown (but make it spicy)
A fun mystery to solve
All the supernaturals
The cutest Halloween spooky vibes
Friends to lovers
Fun side characters
Romance
His nickname for her is Pumpkin 🎃
HEA

I loved this story and can’t wait to see what the other authors will bring to this series of fun Halloween books! 👻

My honest review of the first book in the Bewitching Hour series is totally amazing, Candace will have you sucked into her world with this story. She can really tell a story that has you captivating from start to finish.

This headless horseman will have you on the edge of your seat. The characters Kit who got killed for falling for someone he shouldn’t and the curse around it all. Then you have Stevie a Witches assistant and a seer who can see Kit. The journey they go on and all the twist and turns of this amazing story. It will leave you spellbound and wanting more, there’s even some spice thrown in.

This was my first sleep hollow retelling, and it was fabulous. I love all the nods to the story, and how it went it's own way and had plenty of surprises. It's a charming and cosy paranormal romance, that's slow burn to spicy. I loved Stevie's character and her abilities, and her sweet animal ghost sidekick.
I enjoyed all the paranormal elements, the interactions with ghosts, and the spooky vibe of the town. The twists were great and it was definitely high stakes towards the end.
It was a refreshing retelling and would make a perfect Halloween read.

I enjoyed the hell out of this. I love all things Headless Horseman/Sleepy Hallow, so I was excited to read this story set in modern times in this world. Stevie was such a fun character, and I really need a Roxy of my own. The stakes were big for Stevie, her friends and her town, and the twists and turns kept me guessing until the very end. I cannot wait to read this again and spend more time in this world.

I am a big fan of any kind of headless horseman book! I love the lore and I love the actual monster!! Kit and Stevie’s story felt like watching a buddy cop show and I would gladly read 20 more books with them.

Stevie had one of those “do now think later” attitudes and I felt like that really suited the town she lived in and the story that was being told. I guess when your surrounded by ghosts and magical creatures you do develop tougher skin.

The mystery was very compelling and I felt like I could follow along pretty easily and keep up with all the story’s main points.

The couple as a whole was so darling and for a novella I felt like the relationship progression was well paced and well earned.

Cute and spooky headless horseman romcom with even a little spice! 🌶️

This was a slow burn with ghosts and witches and a curse to break. It had me laughing out loud way more than I expected to. It was a great time! And I swooned every time he called he called her “pumpkin” 🫠🫠🫠

If you’re looking for a retelling that I think we don’t see nearly enough, filled to the brim with hilarious banter, spooky familiars, a good old fashioned mystery, characters you won’t be able to get enough of, not to mention a romance full of chemistry, and a setting that’ll get you right in the fall/spooky moon then I highly recommend grabbing a copy of Bewitched by the Headless Horseman today!!

I absolutely loved this book, and it was such a great way to kick off the Bewitching Hour series. I personally have always been intrigued by the story of the Headless Horseman, and this was such a perfect retelling with a few Easter eggs to the original story! Not to mention the characters in this book will have you falling in love immediately! Stevie is hilarious, right off the bat I know I was going to love her character. And as the story progressed I couldn’t help loving her character more and more! I mean she’s empathetic, brave and always ready and willing to not only help people but to fight for the ones she loves! Kit was an absolute favorite of mine! His dry sense of humor and witty one liners literally had me highlighting and book marking almost every page. And while he comes off cocky and aloof at first once he warms up and we begin to see his true personality you just can’t help but love him. And omg Stevie and Kits chemistry is off the charts… I mean the romance in this book was a slow build but definitely worth the wait! I loved how they started off as acquaintances who were more than happy to sass each other into friends into something so much more!

This book was truly such an interesting read, as well as being a unique twist on a classic Halloween story! So if you’re looking for a book that’ll get you in the fall and spooky spirt with a story that you won’t be able to help but love I highly recommend grabbing your copy today!

HAPPY READING 📖

I received an eARC from the author and I am leaving a voluntary review. Thank you.

Unfortunately the book and I were not a good match. I liked the premise of a Headless Horseman romance and there were bits and pieces I enjoyed about the book, especially the banter between Stevie and Kit, but for me, I felt the book bounced around too much and I struggled to grasp the plot well.

But if you like small spooky town vibes, a headless horseman who is also a little more than that and comics references, this book might be for you.

What better way to kick off the spooky season, than with a series called The Bewitching Hour, starting with the legend of Sleepy Hollow. This wickedly funny, cozy and delightful book puts a uniquely fun twist on the Headless Horseman telling, and I have to say it wasn't what I was expecting but absolutely needed in my life. Now I'm not gonna lie, I was curious to see how this one played out, especially since I knew this was a romantic story, I mean how was THAT even gonna work, after all the MMC doesn't have a head! Well boils and ghouls, work it did and spectacularly too. I was left enchanted by the witty banter, cute nicknames and pure chemistry between the two leads. The family dynamics also gave me all the fuzzy vibes making me feel wrapped in a warm hug. Yes this has got to be one of my favourite retellings ever, and being my first book by this author I can safely say after reading this, it won't be my last....

I adored Stevie from the start, she kooky, funny, snarky, totally relatable and oh yeah she can see ghosts. Not only being a seer, she also works as a witches assistant along with helping her brother out in his comic store. Seeing ghosts is something Stevie has always been able to do but she can't interact with them as they can't see her, that is until the eye of the Hollow opens then every ghost in town can now talk to her. Stevie takes this in her stride wanting to help a few souls conclude their unfinished business in the month she has before the eye closes, unfortunately for her that also means she now has to find a way to avoid The Headless Horseman who also wants her help and he's utterly annoying to boot. Stevie had me in fits of laughter quite often not only with her snark towards her brother (in a sweet way) but in her interaction with Kit, who she shared unbelievable chemistry with and the nicknames she came up with were a pure delight.. I'd literally read a whole series with Stevie alone that's how much I loved her.

The Headless Horseman (Kit) was completely adorkable, sure he severs heads but don't let that fool you there more to him than meets the eye . Underneath that slice and dice exterior, is someone who is likable, brash unapologetic (in the right way) and a wee bit cocky. The one thing he wants is to be reunited with his head and he'll do anything to get it back, Stevie being his key. His snarkiness matched Stevie's to perfection and I couldn't help but love the author for making me fall head over heels for the guy. (Pun absolutely intended).

With such a great start to this series I really can't wait to get to book 2, and the thing I'm most excited about is each book is by a different author so down this rabbit hole I go. So if you are looking for books to bring in the fall look no further, an absolute gem of a Sleepy Hollow retelling
pull up a pumpkin spice latte, snuggle down and enjoy the magic. Highly recommend 😁

The first in a series of standalone paranormal romances featuring a spunky young witch's apprentice and the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow.

Stevie Rourke is a seer living in Sleepy Hollow, which means that she can see the many ghostly residents that reside within the haunted town. She thrives as a witch's assistant and manages to stay mostly under the radar. That is, until the eye of the Hollow opens and the ghosts can see her in return. Now, Stevie finds herself pursued by the Headless Horseman as he demands she helps him find his missing head. The mystery thickens as Stevie and the Headless Horseman work to uncover all the secrets that the Hollow hides within as time ticks towards the Headless Horseman's final demise.

This is the first book in a series of paranormal romances featuring a variety of monsters and mythical creatures. I enjoyed my time with the introduction to the "Bewitching Hour" series and I look forward to reading other books in this series!

I must say that I don't think that I am the biggest fan of Sleepy Hollow or the Headless Horseman mythos. I've read books featuring the Headless Horseman and I just don't think that they are my cup of tea. Despite this, I still had a pretty solid time with this unique romance.

Having the Headless Horseman as a love interest made for some odd circumstances and a great form of romantic tension due to the fact that Stevie can't touch him (or see his face) for the majority of the book. Kit, also known as the Headless Horseman, is a charming individual. The fact that Stevie can't physically interact with him until some other magic occurs later in the book makes for some great romantic tension. Stevie yearns to see his face and feel his touch, but she can't because he's a ghost. I'm sure that there are quite a few ghost romances out there and I must admit that I've read a few, but this is the first steamy one that I've encountered, which made for a different reading experience.

One of my favorite parts about this book was the mystery element. Stevie and Kit are looking for the Headless Horseman's famous head in order to save Kit from a disastrous fate. The magic system in this one isn't super original, but it was easy to understand and a set in a straightforward world, which I enjoyed. A simple magic system and a hint of mystery made for a great pairing and a fun read.

Overall, "Bewitched by the Headless Horseman" is a fun witchy read with an intriguing love interest. Having a ghost as the male love interest was different and made the steamy scenes quite unique. I enjoyed my time dwelling in Sleepy Hollow with Stevie and the rest of the magical residents. This may not be the most original or complex read, but it was certainly a fun good time. I look forward to exploring other books in this series!

🌶️ It’s okay, if not a bit confusing at the end at the big confrontation as it’s not explained very well that the ghost of one character is actually the ghost of another and was now possessing another person. At least I’m sure that’s what the author meant for us to know what happened because it’s a bit murky.

Whatever. The storyline is a mess- we have a FMC who has no problem breaking into abandoned houses to look for vintage items that she collects… stamps, face vases I can see the appeal of, but Garbage Pail Kids trading cards? That’s just weird, but then that was more my younger siblings than my own age bracket. She’s comes across more hoarder-in-training than real collector to me, but no characters really comment on it, so that’s probably just my own take.

Still, I don’t care for her cavalier attitude that it’s okay to rip down boards (and wondering if she should come back with her crowbar???) just so she can see what she can steal just because the owners haven’t gotten around to it? She even wanted to steal items from a local witch’s home as she’s visiting, so yeah, she is definitely not gaining my affections as a sympathetic lead.

But then her mother eats hearts to stay alive and it’s okay because mom goes to church and was forgiven for all the years of killing people? Okay. Her brother has a plant like Audrey, he’s portrayed as a bit of a clueless idiot in the background… Dad is an afterthought, but then mom really doesn’t have a reason to be so prevalent of a character either. The family is just more of a throwaway.

The horseman is the most interesting character, but that’s not saying much. He’s a ghost and yet is okay stealing the heads of other ghosts so he can use them to see while searching for his own head. The fact that our heroine has no problem kissing him while he’s using some jerk’s lips to smooch with seems pretty ewwww to me.

The characters are fairly forgettable- I just finished the book and the heroine’s name is already out of my head… her spectral fox companion was cute, but this gal constantly chugging down a glass of milk and loving the color orange so much she dyed her hair that color are really the only two things that are sticking with me.

No explanation about why the horseman throws 🎃 Jack-o-lanterns at his victims other than “it showed up when a witch cast a spell on him to haunt the Hollow?”

Yeah, there are some bits left loose and explained poorly, and only the vaguest of reasons why the horseman would be falling in love with whatshername as there is no real chemistry between the two. I spent more of my time wondering if I should just put it down and walk away, but then the fruit bat vampire story was charming so I wanted to keep giving this a chance to grow on me, but it just didn’t.

Not sure if I’ll bother with any more in this paranormal romance series.

For a general impression of this book, delightful comes to mind, cosy comes to mind, sweet comes to mind, a fun, easy read. A bit on the gory side, but sprinkled with humour, and a fab sense of a true family unit, who cares and loves, this really was a cool read. As for the ending, well, that just blew me away!

Stevie is an unusal young woman, so she's a witch's assistant, which is cool but she has a few more talents, plus she has a fetish for coin, stamps, anything antiquey. She's a seer who can see ghosts... although they can't see her, for the most part. Sheesh, if they did, I doubt they'd be as...free with the shenanigans. But now, with the rare full moon, the Eye of the Hollow open, she can actually communicate with them, for an entire month. Stevie takes it all in her stride, she even has a ghostly familiar, cuteness personified, a fox called Roxy. Stevie is a real mensch, kind and caring, but her love life leaves much to be desired. Even her attempts with Reese fall short, and flat, and is twarted by Kit....

I really enjoyed the little references to movies and legends or myths, very well worked into the story. What delightful banter to go with delightful characters, very light, off the cuff and really funny at times. Although , a nasty suspicion took hold of me just past the halfway mark.... and even though I was right, it still shocked the socks off me! And the added twist, well flip, definitely did a doozy on me! I loved the close knit family vibe, the teasing, all very real in a functioning family. Not only is Stevie a cool character, her mom is the bomb! I mean, who can dislike an older woman who has an arm sleeve...inked! And a hard living, hard mouthed individual with a peculiar ailment. Yep, couldn't be cooler.

I'm not supposed to like the scary beast that is the Headless Horseman, right? Well, the laugh's on me, I kinda adored him. Yes, he's headless, yes, he's searching for his head, yes, he's ruthless, he servers heads remember, but he's another cool character. I love what the author did to him. She made him extremely personable, likeable and as cocky as one can be. All he wants? To be reunited with all his body parts. And convinces Stevie, grudgingly, to find them. Oh and let's not forget the slight twist he's added to his request...A fabulous take on Sleepy Hollow and the legend/myth that is the Headless Horseman, with a combination of a mystery murder and the cutest, albeit unlikely romance. So well done, so entertaining, so delightfully unique. A great read.

Welcome to Sleepy Hollow, NY, home of the legendary Headless Horseman. It’s been over 200 years since Washington Irving made the Headless Horseman known, but in modern day Sleepy Hollow, the legend is reality. Only a few are able to see him, and one of those is Stevie, a seer and witch’s assistant. Stevie crosses paths with said Horseman on the night when the Eye of the Hollow opened. It’s a long foretold phenomenon of two Eyes. The first allows the dead to see the living for an entire month. The second is said to allow the living to see the dead for one night. Then the Eyes are to close. Some, however, have other more sinister plans than just allowing the living and dead to see and talk to each other, and Stevie and the Horseman will be at the center of it all.

This was such a fun book. Stevie was great at what she did, but she’s still learning. Thank goodness for her sister-in-law, Lucia, a powerful witch. Kit was amazing. He was gruff, intelligent, humorous, and caring. Stevie and Kit join forces to find the Horseman’s missing head before he’s sent to the Hollow, a Hell-like place that is said to lie below the town. Some, however, will do anything within their formidable power to stop them from succeeding.

This was a clever, interesting, and well-written tale. It was well-plotted and developed at a steady pace. My only complaint is that I thought the idea of intimacies between a ghost and a human were kind of creepy, but this is a paranormal book, so perhaps that works.

This is the first book in the Bewitching Hour series, and it gets it off to a great start. I recommend it.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book from the author. I thank her for her generosity, but it had no effect on this review. All opinions in this review reflect my true and honest reactions to reading this book.

I didn’t even know I needed a book to bring on the fall vibes, but Candace Robinson has definitely gotten me in the mood for falling leaves, crisp air, and apple cider. Bewitched by the Headless Horseman is book 1 in the Bewitching Hour collection, bringing together 11 authors to provide cozy, fall stories.

I loved this retelling of the headless horseman. Candace brings her characters to life in a wonderful way and her world building is extraordinary. Perfectly blending magic, romance, and spookiness this story never gives readers an amazing experience. My attention was kept throughout the whole book. The romance is beautifully done, despite the headless part, and the characters are easy to connect with.

When Stevie’s ability to see ghosts brings her face to face (hmmm) with a headless ghost, Kit, that is taking the heads of other ghosts, she can’t ignore his need for her help. As their friendship becomes more flirtatious, I found myself laughing and swooning multiple times throughout this book.

If you are ready for fall and spooky season, this is the book to get you in the mood. I am excited to see what other authors bring to this series, but Candace did a fantastic job kicking the collection off. I can’t wait to read the others.

As always, review any author notes before reading.

Bewitched by the Headless Horseman puts a fresh, witty, and delightfully romantic spin on the Sleepy Hollow legend. From the first page, I was hooked by the clever premise and stayed for the charming characters, laugh-out-loud banter, and just the right dose of paranormal mystery.

Stevie Rourke, a ghost seer and witch’s assistant, finds her relatively peaceful life upended when the Eye of the Hollow opens, suddenly making her visible to ghosts—and to one very persistent, very headless Horseman. What follows is a story brimming with chemistry, snappy dialogue, and magical chaos. The romance is a slow burn, but the teasing, sparring, and genuine moments between Stevie and the Horseman make it well worth the wait.

The supporting cast is another highlight. Even though they aren’t the main focus, each side character feels vivid and well-rounded, adding depth and humor to the world without overshadowing the central romance. It’s the kind of book where you’d happily follow a spin-off about any of them.

Overall, this was a highly satisfying paranormal romance—equal parts spooky, sweet, and spicy—with a clever twist on a classic legend. If you enjoy magic-infused small towns, lovable oddball characters, and a romance that makes you grin, this book is an absolute treat.

A Seer, a Headless Horseman, and a deadline…all set in Sleepy Hollow, naturally!

This was a fun book. Set in a town where the paranormal is normal, we follow Stevie - a seer who is able to see ghosts. That is normal for her…what is not normal is when the ghosts are suddenly able to see and talk back to her. Things get weirder when the Headless Horseman (yes, that one) starts following her. There’s a mystery to solve in Sleepy Hollow, and only a month to do it.

There was so much to like about this book. There’s Stevie’s adorable ghost fox Roxy, not-so-idle threats to turn people into toads, couples pumpkin carving, and a secret magical ingredient that seems to fix everything (turns out it’s a few drops of seer’s blood). I definitely picked up vibes of Casper and Ghost in this book. He’s very much a green flag guy, despite lacking a physical body.

Soooo spice levels: despite her boyfriend being a ghost, there’s a number of open door scenes in the book. There aren’t many themes that are likely to cause distress, but there’s discussion of parental sickness and potential death, and unfinished business. This is the first book of the Bewitching Hour series of standalone books by various authors. The series is shaping up to be a lot of fun if this book is anything to go by. I recommend it for fans of PNR, particularly of the more light-hearted variety.

Stevie lives in the town of sleepy hollow, as a part time witches assistant and helping her brother part time in her brothers comic book shop. As many others who take residence in Sleepy Hollow, Stevie has paranormal abilities, she is a Seer.

On a normal day, Stevie can see ghosts. However, they cant see her. That is until the Eye of the Hollow opens and changes everything. Now as the first eye has opened, She can see ghosts, and ghosts can see her.

Being the kindhearted woman she is, once she can speak with the ones who have yet to cross over, she offers help. Little did she know she would draw the attention of the Headless Horseman. You know the absolutely evil ghost who rides on a horse, stealing heads. Not a ghost she wants to be involved with.

As Stevie starts to unravel some secrets of her beloved home town, she becomes a bit more entwined with this unruly ghost than planned. However, him coming in to her life may be just the thing that she really needs.

This is a perfect read to start off spooky season! This is a small town , slow burn, twist on a popular story about the Headless Horseman. The banter is priceless, the pet names are adorable, and I love how you can really tell the comfort level they develop with each other.

I 10/10 recommend this book for all my fellow spooky girls who are looking for a new comfort romance.

Bewitched by the Headless Horseman is a fun atmospheric romance that starts off the Bewitching Hour standalone series. I was caught up in the banter between Stevie and the Horseman, and enjoyed watching their relationship bloom. The open door scenes were not overbearing, and didn't feel rushed.

The writing is very easy to read and the characters are all extremely fun and unique! I loved the spooky vibes of Sleepy Hollow and how it twists from the original story. I adored how magic was incorporated. The animal & plant companions are really neat, and Roxy is my favorite! (kindof wish she had been on the cover somehow). There's a whole world here to explore. I honestly want a story about Stevie's mother coming to Sleepy Hollow, or figuring out what she is - I think that would be a fun read. I'd also like a story focused on Lucia.

I do feel like it could have been a little longer so that we get fewer timeskips where we are told what happened instead of seeing it unfold.

Overall, I recommend reading this if you are looking for spooky vibes and fun banter in your romance. It would be a great Halloween read.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Thank you so much to the author for allowing me a chance to read this!

I think I’m bewitched by this story! This story was just so interesting and so much fun. I was heavily invested and I found myself just forgetting the world around me. The plot, the characters, and the action was perfection. This story made me crave the fall and Halloween.

Stevie is a ghost seer who can see all the ghosts around her but they can’t see her until one day the Eye of Sleepy Hollow opened. Now that she’s visible, a certain someone demands her help… the Headless Horseman. With secrets unraveling, Stevie has no choice but to help, but will she be able to help him in time?

Stevie’s character was so interesting and entertaining. I enjoyed her so much. I truthfully fell in love with her and also with the Headless Horseman - Kit. Kit is so mysterious and misunderstood. The side characters and pets also made this book so much fun. I honestly would love to read more about them.

One thing I love the most is banter and this book had it. This book kept me smiling and laughing. It was honestly a breath of fresh air. I definitely recommend reading this story and hopefully it will get you in the Halloween spirit as well! I can’t wait to read the rest of The Bewitching Books because this book was so good!

Bewitched by the Headless Horseman is a captivating reimagining of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow—a spellbinding paranormal romance that had me hooked from the very first page.

Set in the eerie charm of Sleepy Hollow, the story follows Stevie, a gifted seer and witch’s assistant who can see ghosts. When the Eye of the Hollow opens—a mystical time when the veil between the living and the dead thins—ghosts gain the ability to see the living. It’s during this haunting period that Stevie encounters the infamous Headless Horseman, who enlists her help in locating his missing head before his final demise.

Their journey is packed with intrigue, danger, and delightful banter. I found myself completely invested in their dynamic, rooting for them to find their happily ever after—even when it seemed impossible.

This fast-paced, cozy tale is rich with atmosphere and world-building. From ghosts and witches to vampires, possession, and mystery, it offers a vibrant cast of characters and familiar sidekicks that bring the story to life.

With high stakes and unexpected twists, the plot kept me on edge until the very end. As the first book in the Bewitching Hour series, it’s the perfect fall read—spooky, romantic, and utterly enchanting. I adored it and wholeheartedly recommend it.

This was such a fun, cozy, fall read! Stevie is a witch’s assistant who can see ghosts in the legendary town of Sleepy Hollow. Stevie is a delight, she radiates kindness and fun, with a silly sense of humor. I loved that the world building was modern Sleepy Hollow, which is written as a sort of refuge town for all paranormals, werewolves, witches, vampires and even adorably ghost familiars like Stevie’s fox, Roxy!

During an unprecedented time when ghosts are finally able to see and speak back with her, Stevie sets off on a mission to help any ghost she can to complete their unfinished business and move on. The trouble starts when the Headless Horseman himself demands her help after centuries of stealing other ghosts’ heads!

The relationship and growth between the two is flirty and fun but what really kept me turning page after page at 3am was all of the mystery and turns to find out what happened to the Horseman and his infamous head!

This book was the perfect, lighthearted seasonal read!
Thank you again for the ARC!

Assistant to a witch, Stevie is also a seer, one who can see ghosts. And as a resident of Sleepy Hollow, she’s got plenty of ethereal beings to encounter, but just as the veil between the living and dead is lifting for a month, Stevie gains not only the ability to see but to speak with the spirits, including none other than the ghost of the Headless Horseman.

After learning about the circumstances surrounding his death and the reasons he’s been hating the area for over two hundred years, Stevie along with several powerful witches set out to help him return to the living, and hopefully in his corporeal form, to Stevie’s side.

This was an imaginative take on the Legend of Sleepy Hollow, and while there was indeed a romance at its heart, it was a mystery as well, with all the attendant paranormal elements. While there were several plot points that were easily guessed at and spotted from miles away, it was still an enjoyable read. The climax while dramatic was a bit abrupt, but all in all entertaining.

I received an advance reader copy from the author and Prolific Works, and I’m sharing my honest review.
