From the author of B-Movie Bloodbath and Neon Nightmares comes a tiny terror packed with monsters and mayhem!
When Danny and Kristy bring home a bunch of prizes from a mysterious store, what should be a Halloween party to remember soon turns into a party to die for! Six cursed objects. Six different horrors. It's gonna be chaos!
A great novella about cursed objects and dumb teenagers. Sprinkled in with some comedy as well to keep you wanting more. Felt like The Midnight Hour movie from 1985 but more violent and yet still perfectly goes along with October and Halloween. Great quick read to kill time with especially with October’s pumpkin carved head peaking around the corner. 🧡✝️📼👺🎎🐦⬛🧞♂️🥠🧡
This was a quick fun read with lots of camp and lots of gore. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a quick read full of 80s horror movie camp and gore.
I just finished my first Isaac Nightingale book, and wow—what a ride! This was a lightning-fast read, packed with monsters, mayhem, and all the chaos you'd want from a horror story all about cursed objects.
Reading this novella felt like I was watching a slapstick comedy on fast-forward—except instead of pies to the face, laughter here and there, It was people being killed violently and dropping like flies.
Danny and Kristy's Halloween party goes from pure innocent fun, to a complete nightmare, all thanks for 6 cursed objects - Little Lucy procelain doll, Harry Hatchet Hand VHS tape, a creepy mask, a metal Crucifix, a stuffed pigeon and a magic lamp.
Each cursed object unleashed, unleashed their own blend of unique curse, and, frankly, I couldn't get enough. You never knew what each object was going to do, and it was such a fun read.
And the pace? It was fast-paced, constantly on the GO, and it hooked me from start to finish.
But dont just take my word for it. If you love fast-paced horror with absolute carnage, pure chaos, and somehow fun, read this book. Huge thanks to my beautiful friend Kiki for dragging me into this madness and to Isaac Nightingale for writing it!
When Danny, a handsome but overly arrogant young man, throws his annual Halloween party, he needs a few prizes to give away. He and his girlfriend, Kristy, stumble upon an old, mysterious store and come home with a bag full of strange objects- accompanied by an ominous warning.
From there, this short story takes a wild turn! It's reminiscent of classic Tales from the Crypt or Goosebumps, but with far more violence and gore. The story is a fast-paced, action-packed read that’s perfect for horror fans, especially those who enjoy a big dose of camp alongside the chills.
I first discovered this story in an anthology, so when I heard it was being released as a standalone, I was thrilled and couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. Isaac Nightingale is becoming an auto-buy for me, and this is just an excellent addition to my collection.
He has done it again, ladies and gentlemen. Nightingale is an absolute beast when it comes to the tellings of supernatural, batshit crazy, action-packed, gory phenomenon. Chef's kiss with this short story✨️🤌🏽
What a fun short story! Fast-paced, action-packed and full of gore, I wouldn't expect anything less from Isaac Nightingale.
Perfect for a quick read during spooky season. It almost gave me a bit of a Cabin in the Woods vibe. Highly recommend this if you want to read something short and fun!
