No algorithms. No compatibility scores. Just chemistry, commitment, and a man who chose her.
Then her husband takes a job with the company behind the Your Perfect Match band — a sleek device designed to pair people with their scientifically “perfect” soulmate.
He says it’s harmless. A curiosity. A way to prove what they already know.
But once he puts it on, something changes.
He grows distant. Critical. Controlled. Conversations twist. Affection fades. And when the band declares he’s matched with someone else, he doesn’t laugh.
He listens.
As Sienna fights to save her marriage, she begins to uncover disturbing truths about the technology — and about the man she thought she knew. Because the deeper she digs, the clearer it
This wasn’t just a test.
It was a replacement.
And in a world where love can be reassigned, the most dangerous thing you can be is inconvenient.
Your Perfect Match is a fast-paced domestic suspense novel about obsession, betrayal, and what happens when the person who vowed to protect you decides you’re no longer the one.
Ina L. Nara writes dark, stylish psychological thrillers that explore the terrifying cost of control—emotional, technological, and otherwise.
Known for heart-pounding plots, speculative twists, and razor-sharp prose, Ina’s stories center on women caught in beautiful cages: toxic marriages, emotional manipulation, and the systems designed to keep them quiet.
Her latest novel, A Happy Wife, has been called “twisty,” “gripping,” and “addictive” by early reviewers—and is perfect for fans of Freida McFadden and Netflix's Black Mirror.
When she’s not writing, Ina’s probably unraveling the next “what if…” that will keep you up at night.
The 2-star Rating for this Book was generous, but the Rating only achieved more than 1-star because it has a loosely built-in SciFi angle.
This MAY be a SciFi Thriller set into the future, but it’s not written well enough to keep my interest … I simply could not keep reading the garbage after struggling through the first 50-some-odd pages.
The Author makes the men in this story to be super-strong success stories, RICH, RICH, RICH beyond any normal means — but the women seem to be merely glorified sex objects for the dominate male characters. And, even if THAT was OK (it’s not!) — The Author just makes the women characters into blathering idiots with nothing else on their minds but their “Perfect Match” … why can’t the women in this Book’s futuristic world, also have some intelligence and back-bone?
I really, really wanted to love this book. And in a way, I did. But then, in a way, I didn’t. I was looking for a more thrilling sci-fi, dystopian kind of read after reading the blurb. Think The Marriage Act by John Marrs – this was the vibe I was getting from the blurb, and this book wasn’t quite it. Then again, my expectations aside, it would have been an exciting read – had I not expected it to be something else.
It was not a dystopian story – it was a story about people being people. It was a story about people being their lying, manipulating selves, and using some fancy technologies to get their weird, selfish, ego-driven goals met. And then, there was love. I was expecting there to be love, of course, but somehow it ended up being a love story. Which was not what I was really there for this time.
Entertaining but I wouldn’t have considered this a psychological suspense thriller. I was hoping there would be more crazy twists or something. But it was still a great read. Kept my attention.

The time comes where she’s able to put faith into the YPM again, and this time she’s ready.

I binged this book in a day…I can’t stop think about it. The author really immerses you in the life of the FMC and snippets of the MMC. The book shows you in detail what the future holds for us and the present world the characters were living in. This book is beautifully written and the story sucks you in, hanging on every page. The descriptions of the setting and softness of the FMC pulls at your heart. You root for her, will for her to succeed, while reading to see how the story unfolds. I’ve talked about this book with others and I’m excited to share it. This is 5 stars without a doubt, I couldn’t put it down!
2.5 stars rounded down. Overall, an ok read, but there were two glaring editing errors (highlighted) where a sentence just begins with a lower case word, an entire line/lines missing. One dickish main character has an unearned redemptive arc, seemingly forgiven for absolutely no reason. All of the YPM connections are hetero couples, which seems myopic not just for current times, but definitely in the future year of 2099.
Okay I really didn’t know where this book was going at the beginning and I was so tempted to DNF it as I hate the cheating trope but wow was I glad I just kept reading. It was actually really interesting to see the past unravel and I’m so glad our FMC sienna came out better on the other end. Cleverly done This is a story about letting technology control your life and how easy it is for people to manipulate by it. Still that gut feeling wins! The epilogue felt a bit rushed and wished there was just a few more chapters to round off some relationship development and what happened with the MMC.
Thanks to NetGalley and publisher for an eARC of this book for review.
I loved how the burn was fast. They just got together in the 3rd chapter. I was following this as it dropped but I stopped around chap 13. Then I continued after it was completed. I love the characterization of both Draco and Hermione. The last few chapters were so fluffy and sweet, I could feel my teeth rotting.
