Many thanks to Book Sirens and the author for a chance to read and review this book.

Trust me Guys YOU ARE IN FOR A RIDE with this one.

A paranormal romance with suspense and mystery with some great characters, Blind Spot is perfect for fans of this genre. There’s also a touch of humor that gives off a good vibe while reading this story.

Tucker is an ex-cop who is dead set on drinking to his death. There’s enough trauma in his life, trying to come to terms with his brother’s death, that the only thing he wants is to be left alone, but Sydney Fallon has already seen this mysterious stranger in her dreams and is not happy about lettings things be.

The small town vibe with a quirky grandmother and a loyal friend adds a lovely allure to this romantic suspense. The demons carried by Tucker are not easy and one can’t help but feel sorry for Tucker as the reasons becomes known to the reader. It is not just the mystery surrounding the death of Garrett but Tucker also has to deal with a past traumatic case of a missing girl and both the threads are tied up wonderfully by the author with a good dose of burning the bed room sheets in between.

I loved Sydney’s character and her ability to deal with Tucker, always making the first move to take the relationship forward. There’s an excessive use of F word in the book which feels natural whilst reading but be warned, if you are one of those readers that feels it objectionable.

When I look for books to review, I usually take my time because there are so many to choose from and I know what I like to read. Upon reading a sample of Blind Spot I just knew that I had to read it. I must say that the story was indeed a page turner.

The author's descriptions of the characters were vivid. I imagined that I was there feeling what Tucker felt while he confronted the demons of his past. Sydney's character was very interesting because I never before thought that people could possess the kind of "gift" that she possesses.

The connection between the main characters and the passion was really alive as well. You felt their love and struggles, their journey.

Had the book been shorter though it would have been much more effective.

I look forward to reading more books by this author in the future.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Blind Spot by Jo Richardson. I liked that the characters were more mature and living full active lives. It was refreshing to read characters who actually communicate like adults and we see blended families co-parenting. It wasn't always easy and I liked that the author showed the real situations that can develop and how families deal with them. I enjoyed the way the romance between Sydney and Tucker was written, it was pitched perfectly. I enjoyed the family aspect of the story as much as the romantic one.

2.5 stars

I powered through 60% of the book in one sitting - the tortured Tucker and ever optimistic Sydney with her psychic gift made for some interesting reading, but the story felt as though it lost some steam as their relationship progressed (so to speak) and the pacing never really recovered after that.

Thanks BookSiren for a copy of the book.

Let me be honest and admit that romance is not a genre I seek out. When I spotlighted Blind Spot back in December when it toured with Bewitching Book Tours I didn’t pick it up to review it even though the opportunity was there because I don’t normally pick up romance. And then the excerpt I was given to post left me wanting more and I saw the average 4.41 rating on Goodreads from a not too shabby 30 reviews and over 40 ratings. Then Jo Richardson contacted me and asked if I was interested in reviewing. How could I say no? Thank you so much for the opportunity! My thoughts are my own and my review is honest.

Sydney sees things. Sometimes she sees things before they happen. Sometimes she touches a person and gets a glimpse of their past. Romance isn't easy when you know your partner's deepest, darkest secrets or how they'll cut things off. Tucker is a dumpster fire walking and he's here in Syndey's town trying to hide from it all. Match made in heaven, right?

I loved Syndey's take-no-BS attitude and her ability to get through to people who are drowning in their own emotions or trauma. She's relatabe, she's fun, and her sense of humour about such an inconveniently odd life is refreshing.

Tucker reminds me of the Less Than Jake song The Rest of My Life. In fact, about 45-50% through the book I had to stop and listen to that song! He's both holding on to the horrors of his past that he's accepted will haunt him for the rest of his life and yet somehow trying to hide from it and be a different person who didn't do and experience those things. He's not at all prepared for Sydney and all the ways she's going to break down his walls and help him.

I acknowledge that this is a romance and sex scenes are a given, that's all fine and dandy and I can skim through those. What I wasn't expecting and didn't appreciate as a reader stepping out of my comfort zone into a romance novel was how much Tucker sexualized his jalopy of a car, especially when remembering his brother's car-care lessons. These tend to be character-building or plot revealing scenes so readers who are more here for the mystery and paranormal elements can't skip over the sexualized bits and not miss key information. Again, I acknowledge this is a romance novel and I am not normally a romance reader, so I won't fault it too much for this, but I'm stating it for the sake of other readers who may be reading this book for the non-romance facets.

I'd also like to note that early on in the book whenever we were in Tucker's POV and we weren't thinking about his demons or sexualizing the car I kept forgetting that we were reading a male character. A few times I had to check that I was in a "him" labelled chapter and we didn't have a second "her" POV. This problem faded as the book went on, but I can't quite decide if it's because Tucker started to sound more masculine or if I just got used to the distinct characters and remembered that Tucker is male.

On the flip side, I LOVED the mystery elements to this book! There's so much left unsolved and unfinished from Tucker's past and Sydney's going to make sure he addresses it. Garret is breaking down the doors of the great beyond and demanding a resolution and Syndey's going to make sure Tucker answers.

Syndey's grandmother is absolutely awesome and the best character in the book.

I you like any of the genres this book fits into, give it a try!

I like this a lot.

Please read it.

BookSirens had my back this time round. Have you ever had that feeling of when you are reading a book so good that you look forward to finishing it? I think I haven't had this feeling since Gone Girl? and I read that a little over a year ago. I took more time out of my reading time to pick this up. I read this before going to bed because I was gripped by it. I was *that* invested.

This is the first time in a looong time that I've read a full length novel in a week. It is unheard of from me.

The reason it's not a 5 (which was initially a 5) was that the ending bit was not exactly my favourite. It did follow a lot of tropes. There was a plot hole - ish. I wasn't fully convinced with the main characters' ability. There were a few typos. It's very (in my opinion) heavily reliant on the sex scenes (which i don't mind pop off sis but it was one too many for me). Little nit-picky stuff like that. It's a high 4 so it's not a bad thing. I love this.

The story was good. I think I mentioned it in my notes that it's like That's So Raven with Sydney's visions. We follow the trials and tribulations of Scowling Tucker as he navigates his new life in Madisonville where he meets Sydney. They have this trope-y haters to lovers relationship with a heaping amount of sexual tension. You almost just want to lock them up in a room and get it over with. Throughout the book, Tucker is haunted by his past life in Chicago that involved the death of his brother Garrett. As their relationship progresses, Sydney attempts to rid him of his demons with the help of her gift. Cool. Again, it's very trope-y. Predictable at times. But I like the book. It's a very easy read.

The setting of Madisonville is so clear in my head. i just looked up what madisonville actually looks like and holy shit it looks exactly like what i imagined. I don't remember from reading this if the settings were vividly described but I appreciate that it read so easily that it wasn't a struggle to see the characters where they were.

Characters. I like Sydney. I still don't understand the potential and limits of her gift though. I don't get it. She gets fragmented visions that come true? But then we would have scenes where she was in a church and everything was all bloody and at the end Garrett was calling her "Little Bird" but I thought that it was Tucker who called her that? I don't know but she's a good character though. I love her hustle. She has 4 different jobs? I know some of those are volunteering but still. It's refreshing to see someone who's genuinely a good person. One really major flaw that I have of Sydney is that I think she exists to serve the progression of Tucker. Like she's not a solid character. I know she had that story line about her parents but I don't think it was super fleshed out. But that's just me. I feel like I was more invested in Tucker than I was for the both of them. I don't know what I'm talking about. I like Sydney. soz. Tucker's a great character. Aside from the fact that his defining character trait is him scowling a lot. He's a flawed character and I enjoyed reading about his development. He drinks a lot which I'm concerned about his liver for. I love that, like Sydney, he's also a good person. The resolution he had with Lexi's family was a good scene, it showed his vulnerability even better than when Sydney was trying to coax it out of him. I was going attest to him being a good cop but then I realised that no one decided to check if actually fired two bullets that day with Garrett. lol. All of the other side characters were amazing. They all stood out so well and they all felt like they supported the main characters in their own way. p.s. I kind of sort of picture these two as Rachel McAdams and scruffy Ryan Gosling The Notebook era.

High-key you should read this :)

If you don't want to read my notes then skip this spoiler-y section. It's literally a collation of my Kindle Notes.

don't have enough characters.

read this if you can.

10/10 would recommend.

I received an ARC of this book for free from BookSirens for which I thank them and the author.

I chose this book for its intriguing premise.

Sydney lives in a small town in Louisiana where her psychic abilities have played havoc with her love life (since her use of them to help others has seen much of the population divided between viewing her as a freak or a fraud). So she cannot help but be compelled by a recurring dream in which she almost – but not quite - achieves happy ever after with a lover who remains tantalisingly felt but not seen.

Meanwhile Tucker, tortured by guilt over both his failure to solve a particularly harrowing case and the death of his brother and fellow cop, resigns and picks a small town in Louisiana with a pin on the map as the location for his planned slide into permanent alcoholism and isolation.

Let no-one be astonished that the two small Louisiana towns are one and the same, that Sydney and Tucker meet, and that there is something more between them than a gigantic coincidence. However, I didn’t find Blind Spot to be predictable all the time - it has its twists. I certainly didn’t predict that Tucker would involuntarily spend an afternoon filleting fish (still wondering exactly why that happened but it added a welcome touch of humour). It is as uneven in its degree of predictability as it is in the writing. Don’t be put off by the overwritten opening sequence in which the dream is described, it is mostly better than that. Be warned, though, that the book is entirely narrated in the informal internal voices of the two main characters. Tucker’s voice (though realistic for his character) often lacks coherence and is laced with curse words (not that it bothered me, I’m an Aussie.)

Supernatural elements notwithstanding (yes, Sydney is a real psychic, and her visions are not the only paranormal element) this definitely belongs in the romance genre and it isn’t exactly slow burn. There are graphic sex scenes and plenty of them. I thought these scenes were quite well-written although I felt they wandered well off the track of realism (if only we could all get off that easily with a sexual partner whose technique might best be described as, well, direct). But hey, if you accept psychic vision that come true why cavil at a few unlikely orgasms?

It would be wicked of me to say too much more about the plot or the ending, but the author does ratchet up the dramatic tension quite a bit later in the book. In fact, there are two major peaks and after the first I half-expected the story to end, but it went on to an even bigger one.

I came to like both Sydney and Tucker, after a delay which I think is deliberate on the author’s behalf. Tucker’s behaviour for much of the book is not very endearing (tortured alcoholics can be like that) but you end up on his side anyway. In the first few chapters Sydney is quirky, erratic, and at times bizarre to the point of being annoying but she achieves more internal consistency and likeability as the book goes on. The author does a good job of gradually revealing the back-story of both main characters without using clunky ploys to conceal information, quite the ask when the characters are first-person narrating and one of them can see the future! I thought the other characters were mostly well-realised and the small town and its surroundings nicely evoked.

If you like your romances with a side serve of mystery, a touch of the paranormal and a healthy dose of sex, and the warnings above don’t put you off, Blind Spot will offer you great entertainment. If the writing quality had been higher and if the author had been able to fool me for a bit longer into believing in the possibility of a different ending, I would have given it 5 stars.

I enjoyed this story filled with drama, humour, and paranormal.

This is a tale of loss and love, where souls are exposed to create a deep connection between the two characters.
Dreaming of the person you will be spending your life with who wouldn’t want that? This what Sidney is experiencing, nearly every night dreaming of this faceless man able to show her how loving someone should be and feels.
Trucker instead is running away from himself and drowning himself in alcohol to find some relief from the pain of his brother’s death.

What happens when these two different people met and find out that the opposite attracts each other?
Sidney has a gift and she used it to help people, even if half of the population of her town consider her a freak. She does different jobs, and she is always ready to help people. She has a big heart, and she takes care of people that are suffering. When a man comes to her small village, she thinks at first, he is rude however the more she tried to stay away from him, the more they get closer.

Trucker is lost in his pain and to get away from people minding his business, he leaves his hometown and hides in this small town, trying his best to get as drank as he can, to avoid hearing his brother in his mind. Trucker is not looking for redemption and he wishes Sidney would leave alone, but there is this attraction that neither Sidney nor he can ignore.

They end up pairing together to solve a case that hits close to Trucker’s life and that will help him find peace.
They are surrounded by good secondary characters, especially Sydney's grandmother, Lucille, and Tucker's brother Garrett.

I loved Trucker, with all his pain, his good intentions, and the need to make things right. His pain is like a living being and you will feel it throughout the book, even when he is happy.
I loved the paranormal aspects of the story as they were realistic and believable. I loved that the book is not too descriptive, however, it has enough details to pull you into the story. I love the deepness of the characters, especially Trucker and the pain he is experiencing, so beautifully arranged to feel very real.

The weak points, in my opinion, are the sex scenes, I didn’t feel involved at all, and I found myself skipping off on some of them as they weren’t as powerful as other parts of the book, and I couldn’t feel the character involvement.

It is a to-be-read book and it won’t disappoint if you love mystery, suspense, and love.

Blind Spot has a very compelling storyline! I did not want to put the book down once I began reading, and the ending was a perfect one for this story. It is a phenomenal romance story with a ton of suspense, drama, some police action, a couple of crime mysteries to solve, and a nice realistic play on the paranormal. There is also some very erotic interplay between the two main characters, Tucker and Sydney.

The author, Jo Richardson, developed very engaging characters. Their relationships feel real and not at all perfect, and some with interesting complications. Richardson also picked the best setting for the story. It provides nuances that other settings would not. The story is set in a small town in Louisiana, Madisonville, where everyone knows everyone and secrets are difficult to keep. All of the characters have known one another since birth which emotes a quaintness and feelings of safety, loyalty, family, and home.

Both of the principal characters are believable, and you root for them and their relationship the moment they encounter each other. They have both been through some very rough times and carry burdens that the other sees they should not carry. Perhaps this is what draws them to each other. Sydney is quite a special lady. She is stronger than she knows and uses her unique gift to help others. Tucker is a good man with many demons. Sydney becomes his saving grace. How they help one another is another compelling element of the story.

I compare “Blind Spot” by Jo Richardson to a long, long journey. You know the destination and hopefully the end result, the question is will you enjoy the ride. I felt that the book sometimes took me to places I didn’t have to go. Therefore I had to put it down and go back to it from time to time.
The story was about Chicago police officer Tucker Chase and the traumatic death of his brother, Garrett, who was also a cop. The aftermath leaves Tucker in emotional ruins; so much so that he cannot solve his last case involving an abducted child, Lexi Banning. Tucker flees to Madisonville, Louisiana; where he meets Sydney Fallon, a girl who has the gift of sight. Sydney wants to save Tucker from drowning himself in booze and sorrow while trying to decrypt her visions and dreams centered around Tucker’s situation.
The author, Jo Richardson is a rich story teller indeed, but the problem was that the story kept going over and over the same road. Richardson even summed the storyline up herself of what maybe Sydney and the reader would encounter: “ drunk belligerent Tucker, downward spiral/ guilt ridden Tucker or a glint of true, fun loving Tucker.”
I kept reading the story because I liked the characters and the supernatural elements. I wanted to see whether there was really spirits or wishful thinking. If you have a lot of time to kill then read this book. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily reviewed it.

Blind Spot follows Tucker Chase, an ex-cop from Chicago who's looking for a place to disappear and lick his wounds from some heavy happenings in the windy city. He ends up in Madisonville, Louisiana, where he meets Sydney Fallon, a small-town psychic who quite literally "sees" him coming.

The things I love most about this story are the atmosphere and the pacing. The author brilliantly creates a small town feel that is genuine, but with an air of mystery that keeps you guessing throughout the story. The pacing is also excellent--the author reveals the details of the story slowly, but at just the right times, and the supernatural elements just add to the allure.

You can't help but fall in love with Tucker, despite his flaws, and Sydney is honest and forthright no matter the consequences. This is a romantic suspense thriller you don't want to miss!

I loved this book sooooo much, i read it in two sittings because i could not put it down. I don't want to give away the story it has some paranormal aspects but they are realistic and easy to relate to.

The story is detailed but not so much you get lost in descriptions and the characters in the book are deep and meaningful and , you can feel their pain and joy and live through it with them. It has been one of the easiest books to read for a long time, the words flow from the page.

It made me laugh it made me cry (several times), but when i had finished reading it... i felt a better person for it.

It was the best book i have read in a long time. Read it, you will not be disappointed by this author or this story

This was honestly an incredible book. This isn't normally the type of book I read. But after taking a brief peek at reviews, I decided to give it a chance and I'm glad I did. The book starts off slowly and a lot of details of both Sydney's and Tucker's pasts are kept from us as both of them slowly learn about each other. However, things speed up rapidly and by the latter half of the book it became even more of a page turner if that sort of thing is possible.

I also found the character development to be interesting. While Tucker's character raised a lot of personal red flags for me that I felt Sydney was ignoring, I found his character development to be interesting and the portrayal of grief and trauma to be realistic in terms of recovery for both characters.

This story had everything, friendship, love, murder, kidnapping and supernatural twists.
I really enjoyed reading about Tucker and Sydney's rollercoaster of a relationship. The writter details the Happy ending through Sydney's eyes early on in the story but it didn't matter because of all the other twists and turns the story takes. How Tucker deals and heals from his brothers death is the main focus throughout and with Sydney's help you really root for him to heal and see he can forgive himself and his brother. Definitely worth a read.

I'm really glad BookSirens brought this one into my life. Blind Spot was refreshing. The characters are wonderful and I love the paranormal edge that runs through the whole story. The only thing I didn't care for was the quotes at the beginning of each chapter. They interrupted the flow of the story and I eventually just ignored and skipped them.

Thank you to the author and Booksirens for the ARC. I voluntarily read and reviewed this title.

I purchased this book in February and have finally had a chance to sit down and read it!

I will definitely be checking out other books by the author!

The cover and the blurb enticed me in, and the amazing story past the cover, compelled me to stay!

Tucker and Sydney were amazing characters, and there were some pretty awesome secondaries too!

If you enjoy "mystery/paranormal" romance, I think this might hit that sweet spot!

This is a haunting story that starts out very simple but keeps getting better and more complex. This tale reminds you of life's hardships, and the inevitable difficulties along the way to a happy ending for our main characters. But not all good people come to good endings...

A really engaging story with a fantastic mix of love, intrigue and supernatural.

Tucker & Sydney are great characters with a heap of unresolved sexual tension, a smattering of humour and a splash of heartbreak.

Sydney, a small town girl with a gift and a want to help everyone she crosses paths with. Tucker, a Chicago ex-cop who is dead set on drinking his life away. these two opposites mix with a paranormal gift, a whole lot of chemistry, and a small town environment to create one epic, romantic, and wild paranormal thriller. If there is anything that caught me off guard though, it would be that there's a heavy reliance on sexual tension in the story, which is fine, but I wish that we had gotten to know the characters a bit more throughout. Regardless, Blind Spot is an absolutely worth it read.

Blind spot follows Tucker who is running from his tragic past and Sydney who has visions of other peoples pasts and futures. After meeting Tucker, Sydney is drawn into his life by her gift whether he wants her to be there or not.

This book had excellent potential and I wanted to love it but too many factors let it down. Starting with the good points; the plot involving Tuckers past was really good and is the main reason I finished the book. I found myself skipping over other parts to get to the plot heavy sections. The ending was also satisfying and loose ends tied up nicely. Unfortunately there were aspects of the book that really did not work for me. The main one being the characters, in particular, Sydney. I just didn’t click with her and found her highly irritating. She also wasn’t particularly well developed. Other than her her gift and being rather interfering, we don’t find out a great deal more about her and I just found her kind of flat. Tucker was marginally better, I at least understood his motivations for his actions.
My other main criticism was the romance. I didn’t enjoy reading it. Tucker was just plain disgusting in his original treatment of Sydney while his drinking was at his peak and I was meant to believe she was turned on by his drunken groping? Just nope. Then it was just constant boring sex scenes that I eventually just skimmed over to get to the interesting parts of the book. I would have actually enjoyed this book more without the romance element at all and it being more of a thriller. More could have been explored with the situation between Sydney’s parents that could have been interesting as well.

I’m sad that I didn’t enjoy the book more as the premise was really interesting to me but the execution just wasn’t to my taste. More character development and less sex would have improved this book in my opinion.
