Jeff’s love for romantic fiction, especially when laced with mystery and suspense, has led him to write books that contain all and not merely some of the elements he believes should be included in the best of such novels.
They must be about love on a deep, ordained level that cannot be denied regardless of obstacles that might be in the way. There must be an epic struggle to consummate that love, making it all the more glorious when it is realized…if it is realized. There must be sacrifices made and villains along the journey attempting to thwart love at every turn. It must be right versus wrong, good versus evil, life versus death, and in the end love or nothing. Jeff has experienced many of the above in his life and wants to share what he has learned with you.
Currently working on his fourth novel, he was born, raised, and still resides in semi-rural Ohio. He was an all sport athlete in his youth and has been a fitness enthusiast ever since. Jeff also enjoys hiking and everything outdoors, traveling, cooking, and providing a good home and heaps of love to one of the several dogs he’s rescued over the years. His ideal pastime though is to snuggle on the couch with his wife in front of a fire and sip their favorite Cabernet while watching a romantic movie.

Pursued (Novel Series, #2) by Jeff Joseph is the follow up to Obsession, but the story takes place about 20 years after the first. Once again, this story was not what I was expecting and yet it was intriguing and entertaining. A mix of romance, suspense and mystery that introduces us to two new main characters and brings back all the original characters from the first book. It can be read as a standalone, but I would highly recommend reading Obsession first.

Collin Laws and Kat Phillips meet in an advanced writing class in college. They both recognize each other as their perfect mates, but Kat is hiding her true past. Her past ties the plot to the characters in the first book, who have been living in fear and seclusion. When Tom/Bill Thompson’s back story is revealed, he is even more evil than first thought. Kat runs away from Collin to protect him from her past, but he decides nothing can keep him from her and goes in search of her past to find her in the present.

The romance is well written with the equal parts of mystery and suspense getting me to read well into the night. The story has many twists and turns that surprised me. I want to thank the author for gifting me a copy of this ebook.

This story ended up being a lot different than I envisioned it would be! As with the first story in the series, this second novel really revolves around multiple people’s lives. This could be read somewhat as a standalone since the story does a pretty decent job of summarizing the first in the series and giving new information. But in my opinion it would make for a greater experience if both were read!
description
The couple that took the main stage this time around was Collin and Kat. They are both writers and have this amazing love that makes each of them a better version of themselves. But Kat believes she, and all she holds dear, to be in danger and to save the one person she loves above all else, she has to make the ultimate sacrifice. I actually really liked both of these characters because I don’t know too many people that would fight this hard for a love. Collin refuses to give up and Kat refuses to give in. It was pretty awesome.

The plot this time around was just as crazy and unpredictable! We got all this new information but it made a lot of sense!! It was really intense and a rush against the clock kind of tale. It also had all of these different points of views floating around as well as changing back and forth from the present to the past. It was pretty fast paced but had you on the edge of your seat hoping that the outcome would be happy.

I do have to say that I was pretty disappointed that this wasn’t all about Abby and Daniel’s relationship. For whatever reason I thought that the second novel would talk about how their relationship got started and how it blossomed. Not that the novel would take place twenty years later and involve them loosely at best.

In the end it was a different story than I was expecting but one that kept me pretty captivated. It has thrills, chills, and a love that can’t be stopped. If you’re interested in a new series read that is heavy on the thriller/suspense but adds that little spice of romance, you should come check this out!

This is the sequel to OBSESSION, which should be read before this one. PURSUED can stand on its own as there are plenty of references to the first, but much better to read in order. PURSUED takes place twenty or so years later.

Kat is in love with a great guy ... but she runs in order to keep him safe. Abby and Julie, who haven't seen each other in more than 20 years are apart because of the threat of danger. Daniel is in a wheelchair, waiting to die. And the man who tried to kill him all those years ago is back with a vengeance.

All the original characters are back, and its great to see how they have all evolved .. and how the hatred of one man has impacted all their lives. It takes awhile to connect the characters and why they are all so afraid. Not for themselves ...but each other.

Romantic Suspense ... heavy emphasis on the suspense. The book is well-written. The characters are finely drawn. This was not the ending I had expected, but it worked to my satisfaction.

I see that the author has another book out there, LOST HEART, which I will definitely be checking out.

My thanks to the author, Jeff Joseph, who furnished a digital copy in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

WOW!!!! Suspense, love, fear this book has it all! Shocking surprises!! Tom is an evil, jealous hateful man. There is also a mystery about him in this story, that your mind is wondering what's up! What you will do for those you love, when a person has put in fear for so many years, than you realize it's time to take action-Daniel, Abby, Julie tell the secrets to Collin hoping that the outcome will be filled with happiness. Now that you will have to find out for yourself, so read this series you will like it. Thank you Jeff for another fantastic read. His first Novel you should read is Novel Obsession --

Pursued was even better than the first book. OMG, every free moment I had, I was stuck in this book.

I definitely loved how everything turned out and the moment Collin arrived at Kat's hideout was everything. It's like I envisioned each moment.
I wish it would have ended differently only because I feel Bill Thompson should've died. But I also understand why it played out the way it did.
I unexpectedly read the first book because Jeff sent it to me in exchange for a review but I quickly bought Pursued the second I finished the first book. It was a great book! Great series!

way to go Jeff!

Pursued was a perfect ending to A Novel Obsession. These characters are what every reader wants and needs. Jeff's writing is amazing. His writing sucks you in and keeps your attention all the way through. This book could be read as a stand alone but you should really read a Novel Obsession first. Once again Jeff writes an amazing story of LoVe, PasSion and finding your true soulmate.

This book takes further into the story to see were the characters from Obsession are 20 years down the road. The mystery and intrigue in the first book, only becomes more intense with Pursed. Mr. Joseph gives us a look into what made Bill Thompson, the person he is today. We are taken thru the history Of how Bill Thompson became twisted and revengeful. Mr. Joseph writing style, you can almost picture everything about him.
We get to meet Kat, she was a strong woman, with a free spirit with a air of confidence about herself. Kat's love of writing lead her to take college class in writing where she meets Collin Laws.
Collin has had his share of heartbreaks, he wasn't looking for love, but it found him. From the time Kat sit down beside him in class, Collin knew there was something special about her. From that moment, they were together. They fallen for each other, although Kat was keeping something big from Collin that would change everything.
We get insight into life 20 years later with best friends Abby and Jules, well that stopped because Bill Thompson. Abby and Daniel are together, but living under the threats of Thompson.
When Kat leaves to get away from Collin, thinking she is saving him, it only makes him more determined to find out where she is and get her back.
Jules, who hasn't seen her best-friend in so long, comes with bad news. Thompson has been trying to keep these friends apart for so long, together can they begin again?
They have to find Thompson in time before Thompson's final threat takes one of them away for good. This book had me on the edge of my seat, biting my nails. That's a great book, to do that!! The writing style of Jeff Joseph is a pure pleasure to read. He has a way to draw you in, and just keep you there till the end. I didn't want it to end, I was just enjoying it too much.
I recommend this to all, it isn't just romance, but mystery and intrigue, plus so much more!! WOW I can't say enough about how wonderful it is, so go get it and enjoy!!

This review is from: Pursued (The Novel Series Book 2) (Kindle Edition)
This is a story of many regrets which several people have lived through for over twenty years. During this time these people have been threatened by one man, who seeks revenge and is able to stay below the radar of law enforcement. For so many years, these people have been unable to live their lives openly in peace and harmony. Kat Phillips lives alone in western Montana seeking peace and solitude to inspire her to high goals as a writer. But also, she has closed off her relationship with her heart's soul mate out of fear for him. Collin Laws had met Kat in college and they both are writers and bonded together right from their first klutzy discussion with each other. In other words, Kat had knocked the socks off of Collin to where the words he wished to say to her came out all wrong. But over time, their love developed into a rare love-filled relationship, where one cannot live without the other. But now, Collin for three months being separated from Kat is severely depressed not understanding why she would break up with him. She has no family, according to Kat, but she's not telling him the truth. There is something creeping upon her to seek this isolation. While Collin is going through the closet which he and Kat shared, he finds an old newspaper article about the shooting of a best selling author, Daniel Sheppard, of years ago which must have fallen out of Kat's boxes. What is the connection of Kat and Sheppard? Collin is determined to find out. The characters in this novel are very well defined, the story is finely honed to reveal all the past history of the characters, and is extraordinarily written to mesmerize the reader till the very end, which will shock and assault your senses. Highly recommend.

Not as good as the first of the series. Was a little confused the beginning and I until about the middle to the last quarter of the book. This is the second series and I think the two books would have made a much better book it the two of them put together. For some reason the most the first part goes back-and-forth between the past and the present. And discussions in the mind of the villain Tom/Bill. seriously the two books together would've been made one great novel by themselves and separately. Glad I found out the answers to some of the questions the first book raised. The absence of the villain being killed or being able to be killed is kind of infuriating several times the villain is injured or hurt and should die and about it should be found but when the characters inspect the area he's not there

Wow

this story was very moving. I do have to admit I was completely lost as to why it started where it did and who Kate was or why Abbey and Daniel weren't more worried about The threat on my daughters life if it was my daughter and I got a picture of a ball into her head I would Slugball I wanted to sit down say you have a better chance of saving her. I also don't understand how Daniel went from being selling love with Abby to 90 Carring I get the grievance traumatic and affects peoples opinions but it usually Bringin together I take Thomasville right away and I wonder where she went and how he got away after being electrocuted, that being said I think the book is really good and I think that you should read it.

I'm happy with how the characters ended up

Jeff offered me this book for an honest review but I had already bought both A Novel Obsession and Pursued...I can't deal with cliffhangers and A Novel Obsession leaves you wanting more.

So....Wow ok so this is book 2 in the series is - Pursued. You have to really pay attention to this book it come's at you from all over the place every angle. So much is going on and so much to learn so many OH that's why/what happened moments. The plot twist keep you on your toes in this book. You just never see it coming till it's slapping you in the face.

It's an emotional roller coaster as well. I cried and rejoiced and held my breath and wanted to scream at times not necessarily in that order. lol

Highly recommend to everyone that loves Murder, Romance & Suspensen

OMG this series kills me everytime. What a great read, very well written the drama built up from beginning to end and ended with a climax. It left me wondering at every moment what happened in the past and what would happened. This Tom was crazy beyond words, he did things we didnt even know he did. When the ending came i almost died reading it, my body wanted to shut down until the last page and it was made better. Everyones life took a change because of Tom's psychotic emotions. This one event altered how 4 people lead their life in a box. I think this is a great series and its something that I usually wouldnt read and I am glad i took the time to start it.

This story has a good plot and great ending, but is confusing at times. This book could use chapter headings of past or present and whose point of view we are reading. I was sad to not see the story start off where it left. One of the most excited aspects of the first book was how Abby and Daniel would finally meet, and realize they were each other. This part of their story was never wrote, instead this book is several years later with their adopted daughter. It takes a couple chapters to finally realize this is what is taking place. Glad for a good ending, and had a great story line. I do wish it would have ended with that finally happened to Tom. Maybe leaving room for a book 3?

I was a little confused with how this book began what with all the different characters and jumping back and forth. Once I got into the flow of things I did enjoy it. Tom was quite the character. I enjoyed the more in depth look background information that we got on Tom and Bill, and everything that happened back when Daniel was shot. The writing was well done and the storyline was good. I was intrigued by the characters, hoping for happy endings and justice for everyone. I was intrigued from start to finish. Overall I was happy with how this series concluded.

Pursued

I was gifted A Novel Obsession by the author. I read it first then had to read Pursued. I had to finish the complete story. I will be honest I like romance books with Alpha Males in them so these books didn't appeal to me so much. They were well written if you like murder, mystery and such. I also usually read female authors that give you an HEA at the end. Which this one did, I just hate that so much tragedy had to come first. Thanks again to the author for the gift of the first one and letting me read his work.

Pursued

Awesome! This was the follow-up I wanted and expected and then some. The two books in this series are a must read together. This book Pursued might possibly be able to pass as a stand alone, but there is no way that the first book could. The conclusion of the story was almost as emotional for me as the first book was, and again, Mr. Joseph had some surprise twists and turns to keep us on our twos up until the end. I would recommend this set to anyone who likes mystery and suspense with their romance.

Pursued is the second novel in The Novel Series. A Novel Obsession leaves off with Daniel getting shot and Bill getting away with murder. In Pursued the reader learns about Kat, Collin, and Tom. Kat is a young writer living in the middle of Montana. Her neighor, Tom, is a great guy who watches over her. Collin is Kat's ex, who she broke up. Poor Collin is so confused on why Kat lefted him. Together these 3 characters have an interesting story which connects with A Novel Obsession. Filled with romance, suspense, mystery, and some drama, this story is amazing. I loved this series!

First off I received this book as a gift from the author, so thank you Jeff. And in return I will give my honest review. This was not what I was expecting but I did enjoy this book. So many twists and turns that I did not see coming. Explained a lot from the first book. I was on the edge of my seat the whole book. Only negative I would have is it got a little confusing and I would have to re read a sentence or paragraph because I was not sure who was speaking. A romantic, mysterious, fearful, and suspenseful read!

Jeff's writing style is unique and refreshing. He crosses multiple genres and breaks all the rules you thought you knew about writing! Just like the first book he did not write the story I thought it was going to be nor did events happen in any sort of way that I expected! Many of my questions were answered but in ways you would never believe! He took me on another amazing adventure and left me breathless! I absolutely love his writing and cannot wait to get my hands on more!

A huge thank you to Jeff Joseph for advancing me a free copy of his novel in exchange for my honest review.
This is the second book in the Novel Series, I liked this book even more, it has so many twist and turns, couldn’t put it down.
A thriller/suspense novel as it is a story of romance. Very well written and never dull or boring. Most definitely keeps your attention until the very last page. This was my first Jeff Joseph book, but not my last.

This story wasn't as slow paced as book 1 and it kept me in the story the whole way. Mysteries are revealed, love conquers all, friendships reunite, and the deceit is even stronger. This book brings every thing together and you get to know the characters from book 1 a lot better. The pursuit for the love that got away is so strong and puts the meaning to love knows no boundaries. Again Jeff Joseph did an amazing job keeping me in this story and making it feel so real.

*ARC kindly given by the author in exchange of an honest review*

I really liked this book, much more than the first one. I liked how the story developed and the suspense of not knowing what was going to happen. I disliked the same thing from the first book, and it was that the author didn't describe the characters, only Kat. But overall it was a really good book. I would recommend this to a friend and I give it 5 stars because I enjoyed it enough not to pay attention to that little detail.

I may like this better than the first one, except for the long paragraphs and long sentences. It's just a preference of mine. i like short sentences and paragraphs. The novel still deserves a five star. This one is more than a romance novel. It it a romantic suspense. It had enough twists and turns to keep my interest. I loved it. I hope there will be another one after this.
