The City of Light stands as a beacon of perfection. But it is hiding a dark secret.
Mari’s return to Avren has Lady Raven written all over it. The head of the council wants control over the saviors, the two people she fears most in the land. An inner rebellion led by Mari’s father gives her hope that they are not alone in their fight.
When Bastian steps into Avren for the first time, he discovers a world so different from his own. The secrets he uncovers threaten the very core of who he is and his relationship with Mari. Together, with the Kindred Few and the rebels of the wilderness, they need to find a way to burn Avren to the ground.
Because if it’s left standing, the remnants will rise from the ashes to extinguish the wilderness forever.
I feel like my emotions were on a rollercoaster ride! This was the perfect ending to such an incredible series!!
The Kindred Few, a group of found family that Mari finds when she is removed from the city she grew up in, becomes her everything starting in book one of the trilogy. Between them and other friends along the way she has found those who will fight for their freedom.
Bastian and Mari have been through so much throughout the trilogy, and they go through the worst of it in this book. I love these two, who together want to set their world and all in it free. They are willing to sacrifice so much to do that.
I love Kindt’s writing, her imagination and her ability to bring the characters and worlds to life as if I’m seeing a movie in my head. But this trilogy is my favorite yet! It’s a Dystopian Fantasy kind of setting with found family, friends, romance, a TON of action, magic and different magical creatures! I highly recommend it and can only imagine you’ll love it as much as I do!! It’s so hard to say goodbye to these amazing, kick-a$$ characters.
Avren is the third and final book in The Kindred Few series. The book ends explosively when the rebels of the Wilderness attack the corrupt government of Avren. However, nothing goes as planned, and this is the darkest book of the series. Mari faces many challenges throughout this story, some of which are disturbing. She must stay true to herself and her relationship with Bastian. I enjoyed the book, and it provided a satisfying ending because we get our HEA and everything is wrapped up nicely. However, it's short like the other books in the series, and I wish it had been longer. Everything happens very quickly. 4 stars, and I recommend the series!
