From page one, I was hooked. Mila is the boss’s daughter — sweet, strong, and totally off-limits. Colter? The broody farmhand with a messy past and a reputation that screams trouble. The one rule? Stay away from Mila. But yeah… that didn’t last long.
Their chemistry? Insane. Every glance, every stolen touch had me holding my breath. Colter doesn’t think he deserves her, but Mila sees right through his walls — she’s his anchor, and their connection had me in my feels.
I laughed. I swooned. I cursed out loud. And the spice? Whew — tension + heat = perfection.
This book gave me everything, and I’m still not over Mila and Colter.
If you’re into forbidden romance with heart, heat, and a touch of grit, add this to your TBR ASAP.
Their chemistry? Insane. Every glance, every stolen touch had me holding my breath. Colter doesn’t think he deserves her, but Mila sees right through his walls — she’s his anchor, and their connection had me in my feels.

I'm the minority so far but here it is.
It had potential but in the end it felt predictable, with little substance behind their connection for too long. The idea of the Tropes are there, forbidden, angsty/Broody cowboy, age gap. But i felt like we were just checking them off a list.
There was a lot of inner dialog by Colter especially in the beginning that was very dirty and just lust based. It was insta-lust overall for them. He has the makings of the broody backstory, injured by a horse, got drunk and got put away in prison (for self defense). There's mention of hospital bills but what are his injuries? We get 40% in and I was struggling ..just redundant scenes of him kissing her in the ubiquitous "f*ck it" moments...chastising himself and then they just do it again over and over. Spice scenes are very spicy and just felt that way to appease the audience.
Just felt like a redundant story with no real meat dug into these characters, and just insta lust, and just hitting trope list on the surface level.

If you are a fan of Yellowstone you are going to enjoy this book! There are some definite differences. Colter for instance has quite the filthy mouth and while Mila may have that strong core inside her, she’s also afraid to stand up to her dad unlike Beth. But at its core, a lot of the themes of family and ranch life are similar. Colter is a grumpy asshole to everyone around him and when he meets Mila he tries using that attitude to keep her away. Undeterred, for the first time Mila knows what she wants and she’s going to do what she can to get him. They just need to make sure they don’t get caught and blow Colter’s comeback chance, and that they don’t catch feelings.

I loved both Colter and Mila. The chemistry between them sizzled off the pages and they both changed a lot through the story. Once the spice starts it does not hold back. Colter has a filthy mouth and I was here for it. While he clearly thinks he is way beneath Mila, you can feel that he WANTS to deserve her right from the get go. Mila has lived an admittedly pampered life so she can't relate to the desperation that Colter has to get his career back. She is decidedly aware that if her dad finds out about them she isn't the one who will pay for it but she also can't deny the pull between them.

Well, holy grumpy/sunshine!
This book was the very definition of that, and I couldn't be happier. Colter is the ultimate grump, to the point that he actually made me agitated with him, but that is exactly what I love. Mila brought all the sunshine, not only in personality, but also to Colter's bleak life. Regardless of the huge age gap and differences, these two were absolutely made for each other, and their chemistry was off the charts! Even if I wasn't already in my cowboy era, this book would have me firmly planted in the "ride the cowboy" faze of my life. And boy, oh boy, are there plenty of cowboys here! I loved that it had a little angst and some push and pull to compliment the spice. The storyline itself was fantastic, and now I can't wait until this author gives me another one of those cowboys to obsess over!

First time reading Kelly Kelsey- thank you for the opportunity to ARC review! Loved her style of writing and dual point of view on these characters and hope to see some other main characters in their own books soon. Mila and Colter had everything staked against them. Her father owned the ranch and told his staff she was off limits, he is a felon and grumpy cowboy, she is sunshine, he is 10 years older than her but none of that mattered the moment their eyes met. The will they won’t they breaks as soon as Mila and Colter are alone she’s the only person to ever brighten the darkness inside of him but they know this can never go any further, her father will never allow it. With time, their connection and feelings for each other grow and Colter is getting the opportunities he could only hope for but does that mean he cannot have Mila too? Will Mila be able to explain to her dad that he’s the only person she loves and the past doesn’t matter?

I’m a huge fan of grumpy sunshine! Throw in some hot cowboys, tons of spicy scenes, and an off limits girl, and you won’t want to put this down. There is quite an age gap, but it didn’t bother me too much. Mila is so sweet, but she didn’t take any crap either, which I loved. She knows what she wants and she goes after it. Colter is the ultimate grumpy cowboy, zero care for anyone else, unapologetically. Brandon makes the perfect semi-villain, and the other cowboys made great background characters! It definitely gave Yellowstone vibes at times and I’m not mad about it!

I give this book 4⭐️s, I almost didn’t give 4 stars because there were a couple of sentences in the book that were a tad cliché,but then I thought I am reading a cowboy romance. Colter and Milas’s relationship starts out rocky, and they have to figure out what they both want whilst everyone else is stopping them from doing what they want. There are spicy scenes in this book, but they are not over the top and fit within the storyline. Overall, I liked the writing and thought the storyline worked and it didn’t follow the usual plot of a lot of romance books are doing at the moment. It was a nice change of pace. I definitely recommend this book.

Thai was the first cowboy romance i have read in a very long time.
Mila is the definition of Sunshine and Colter is the grumpy, older cowboy.
The banter between them and the secrecy throughout the book was great! I enjoyed seeing Mila peel Colter apart and learn about him.
Overall, it was a great book and worth the read!

This is a generous 3 stars.
Mila, who had previously been living with her mom, moves back to Montana for the summer to help her dad out on their massively successful ranch. There she meets Colter, a closed off ex rodeo king with a past who works on her dad’s ranch. The attraction is there but her father has made it clear to all staff that she is off limits.
I knew there was an age gap going in but I wish I had known the specific age gap beforehand because I wasn’t a fan of how young Mila was in comparison to Colter. I mean girl just stepped out of the high school gates… like a month ago she was learning calculus. 😭 I think I would have preferred if she had been in her 20s.
Colter is tall, dark and handsome but also a bit of an ass. He is not winning gentleman of the year awards but if you like a guy who will shove you off his lap when he’s tired of the attention and yell at you to get lost, then he is perfect! 🤩
I found it hilarious how at the end of every chapter Colter had this internal lecture with himself about how he couldn’t pursue Mila, him losing control could never happen again, I can’t lose my job, etc. but still proceeds to do what he said he wouldn’t do. 😭
the brother and dad can step on lego and i would kick them to the curb with a smile on my face and never speak to them again. I will not elaborate on this here for spoilers reasons but they ain’t seeing the pearly white gates. 🤗

Mila is light, sunshine and warmth ~ the kind of girl who finds the good in everyone. All she wants is a quiet summer at her father’s ranch before college ~ riding her horse Clover, laughing with her best friend Nova, and soaking up Montana’s wide-open sky. Falling for the grumpy new ranch hand with a past no one wants near her? That was never part of her plan.

If you’re drawn to a grumpy/sunshine, age-gap, forbidden cowboy romance with a touch of longing, Untamed is a story that will stay with you. Mila and Colter remind us that sometimes the love we’re told to leave behind is the one that changes us the most, in quiet, lasting ways.

This book was giving me total Yellowstone vibes. If I could have one couple as my perfect match, it would be Rip and Beth from Yellowstone. That was definitely what these two seemed like, although Mila was much too innocent to be Beth. But it was still grumpy cowboy, working the rich guy’s ranch, and the daughter that is completely off limits. This definitely had a slow burn, which you wouldn’t expect from a guy like Colter, but the forbidden element and his need to keep his job added to that “we shouldn’t” mentality. On top of that, these two have a definite age gap that causes Colter to have third thoughts about anything happen between them. This story had so many of the elements and tropes that I love to read, like age gap, cowboys, and forbidden romance. This book was definitely a fun spicy read that had me stressing with what was going to happen next.
Mila is the 18/19 year old daughter of the very wealthy owner of the ranch. She was forced to leave with her mother when her parents got divorced, but the ranch life is in her blood and she just can’t stay away from it. Of course, the minute she lays eyes on the grumpy, older ranch-hand, Colter, she is absolutely done for. Luckily, or unluckily, he feels the same. I loved how both held out as long as they could so that Colter doesn’t loose his job. Colter is someone who let some past mistakes cut him down in his prime and was only able to find employment with Mila’s father. He does not want to mess that up, even though he has strong feelings for Mila.
This book gave all the big cowboy romance feelings that I love. Even though this was definitely a slow burn, when they fine came together, the spice was explosive. The chemistry between the two main characters had me fanning myself at times. This was a great read with a little drama and a lot of tension building. This is my first read by Kelly Kelsey. What a wonderful, age gap romance. Untamed is the perfect name for this book as we follow our MCs as they navigate their forbidden romance. The first book of her Oakridge Ranch series, I am beyond excited to see what she delivers in the next books. She has done a wonderful job laying the groundwork with this story. Mila and Colter ignite the pages with their chemistry.
Mila is the boss’s daughter and staying away from her is rule number one on the ranch. Doesn’t mean she can’t have fun looking at all the ranch hands that come and go. Until Colter. When these two meet, she’s never wanted to break her daddy’s rule faster or more. She is drawn to him and despite his questionable past, she sees the man he is meant to be. Mila is willing to fight for him, even when she’s fighting him.
Colter doesn’t look for trouble, but trouble seems to find him. He is grumpy through and through, until he meets Mila. Mila brings something out of him that he can’t stop. She makes him feel warm, worthy of love, and not someone who is easy to write off. With every stolen glance and heated touch, he is drawn more to her and wants to be who she deserves. But being the boss’s daughter places her firmly in the forbidden column, but he can’t seem to stay away.
If you haven’t read a cowboy romance yet, this is a great book to start with. Kelly wrote two amazing characters that compliment each other so well. Each of them shows the other a part of them they forgot about. Truly bringing the best out of each other, these two shine. Amongst our amazing MCs, we also find side characters who I hope to get to know more as this series expands. What a great introduction to Kelly Kelsey and her books.

If you haven’t read a cowboy romance yet, this is a great book to start with. Kelly wrote two amazing characters that compliment each other so well. Each of them shows the other a part of them they forgot about. Truly bringing the best out of each other, these two shine. Amongst our amazing MCs, we also find side characters who I hope to get to know more as this series expands. What a great introduction to Kelly Kelsey and her books.

And then there’s Colter: grumpy, broody, ex-rodeo king with a rough past, a dirty mouth, and the kind of tension-filled energy that makes you want to flip pages like your life depends on it (Helloooo RIP!!!!) Their chemistry is DELICIOUSLY FIRE—every look, every touch, every secret meeting had me holding my breath and savoring the slow-burn build-up… waiting for that final F**K IT moment!!!
Again… this was straight up EVERYTHING I could want in a spicy Cowboy Romance. The secrecy, the banter, the way they challenged and changed each other—UGH, it was all so beautifully addictive. Mila may be soft and sweet, but she knows what she wants and no one… not even her family will stop her from HAVING it (or him!) and Colter? He’s rough around the edges but loyal to his core, and when he breaks for his woman? He DEVASTATINGLY SHATTERS TO PIECES!!! Their story is so hot and messy… I felt it in my bones. I just recently took up contemporary? (is that what this one is classified as?) romance as one of my faves to read… and this one just straight solidifies my obsession.

Colter has to be hands down one of my favorite cowboy boyfriends of all time 😍🔥 the way this grumpy cowboy can truly love someone when he knows that he is chosen to be someone’s love of their life is so amazing to see!! I truly love Colter so much, and if I was in Mila’s position, I would also risk everything that I own and love for the love of my life 🥹
This is the first book in the series titled “Oakridge Ranch” and I absolutely loved the instant attraction both Mila and Colter had from the first time they say each other. Not going to lie, I was very curious how my mafia queen was going to do taking on a cowboy romance but Kelly absolutely crushed it!! This may be my favorite book of hers to date! (I think I say that about every book she writes lol, I’ve read them all!) Mila and Colter had some serious tension from the first second they locked eyes and they couldn’t be stopped!! I love me a good old age gap romance and if you mix it with this cowboy romance, whew it was amazing!!
Please tell me we’re going to get more from this series?!? I need so many more characters to get their stories!!!

I was out of the house all day yesterday and dog-sitting, but I finally finished my arc of Untamed and this is easily one of my favorite cowboy romances I’ve read this year!
Untamed is the first book in the Oakridge Ranch series. This’s a grumpy x sunshine, age gap, rich girl x poor boy, forbidden, small town romance between Mila and Colter.
I really felt for Mila the whole time I was reading. I know very well how it feels when your family thinks their way is the only way for you to live your life, and it’s hard to speak up and say what you really want when you know they approve. But I loved that the more time she spends with Colter, the more free she feels to stand up to her father and go after what she truly wants in life. I loved that Colter brings out the fire in her, reminding her that it’s her life, and she deserves to live it on her own terms.
I’m loving living in my cowboy era; Colter is another favorite book boyfriend for me! I loved how he sees Mila for who she is and not who everyone claims she is the more time they spend together. As he falls in love with her, he does everything he can to help her feel loved and safe and confident in herself. And he wants nothing more than for her to live her best life, even if that means he’s not in it with her. He’s such a sweetheart underneath his grumpy exterior, and I know everyone will love him just as much as I did.

As much as j enjoyed this story, and am looking forward to more in this series, I found parts of it annoying.
Colter and Mila were great together, I don't gave a problem with age gaps, so that was never an issue for me, what was though, was Colter's (unintentional ) grooming of Mila. It doesn't really come across as such, but he never gave her a chance (Well, not that the readef saw) to experience sex in a loving sweet way. * I want you to make love to me" Colter's browa jump in shock, and he ahakes his head sardonically. He clears his throat. " One, Sunshine, I don't make love. I fuck. Hard. * And so it was.
Our couple are both attracted to each other from the start, and it's Mila who pushes to get what she wants.
The story is good, great characters, good guys and bad, and Mila's best friend is always true to her.Thats going to be an interesting story, did I pick up where that might go??
The other thing that annoyed me, was Mila's dad's quick turnaround, literally overnight, It seemed a bit rushed, but at least it was a good outcome.
Brandon was a right fool, but I'm looking forward to his story! Let's hope its a good one.

One sees pretty yellow and sunshine-y cover...One was not expecting what I just read. Holy cow. The mouth on Colter is enough to make a grown man blush. AND I LOVED IT! The filth is filthing but the plot is so good!
I'd recommend this if you're looking for

What I wasn't a fan of? This book likely should have come with some trigger warnings or at least a place notated where we could find those. Even in the ARC sign up, I do not remember that being available (but perhaps I missed it). There is alcohol/drug abuse and a miscarriage mentioned as part of the book - so proceed with caution if any of those trip your triggers. However, they are NOT between the main MCs. I will also say, not a super huge fan of Mila being 18 and Colter being 29. If I gauged this right, she was coming to her Dad's after high school graduation. While yes, legal adult, that still feels yuck to me that she exited the high school doors and crawled into bed with a 29 year old. Lastly, parts felt repetitive - they knew they shouldn't but oh well felt like the ending to a lot of the chapters.
Overall, still had a GREAT time with this book and will have no issue recommending it to people!

This book was sooo good!!! This is the first book in the Oakridge Ranch series and I can't wait for book 2 to come out!!!
Mila is our sweet and innocent fmc! She has just graduated and is staying at her ranch with her dad before she goes off to college.
Colter was once the King of the rodeo until several poor decisions ended his career. No he is grumpy and just wants to try and get his life back on tract.
Mila's dad told all the ranch hands that his daughter is off limits! Colter thinks it won't be a big deal because his only goal is to get back on the rodeo circuit. What he doesn't count on is the instance mutual attraction. No he has to decide if Mila is worth the risk because he has the most to lose.
Honestly I loved the push and pull of their attraction while they were trying to stay away from each other. Colter and his dirty talk was hot!!! Now they not only have to decide if they are going to give things a honest shot. Is Colter's ex and Mila's crush is going to jeopardize everything they want before they even have a chance?
You will love this book if you like grumpy/sunshine; cowboy romance with a little blackmail thrown in. I can't wait for the next book to come out!

Both Mila and Colter are TERRIBLE at being subtle and I found that so entertaining. They were constantly in each other’s space and showing heart eyes from across the way. I wasn’t a fan of the back and forth, but when Colter finally came to terms with what was going on, I felt giddy and excited!

I loved this Cowboy Romance given I am in my Yellowstone drought right now. Thank you Kelly Kelsey for not writing your average cowboy romance either where the spice overtakes the plot. I mean I love me some spice, who doesn't, but I also love a good story too.
Our MMC Colter reminds me a little bit of Rip from Yellowstone in that he is a grumpy and hot! Our FMC Mila is a sweetheart who doest take any crap from anyone. The banter between these two was chefs kiss and I absolutely ate it all up!
There wasn't an abundance of spice in this book which was great because it is the first book in this series and I can't wait for the next. This book makes me want to read more cowboy romances because Kelly Kelsey reminded me how hot they can be without putting all of the spice in them. Throw some forbidden banter in with hot cowboys and voila you have a romance book living rent free in your head.

Our MMC Colter reminds me a little bit of Rip from Yellowstone in that he is a grumpy and hot! Our FMC Mila is a sweetheart who doest take any crap from anyone. The banter between these two was chefs kiss and I absolutely ate it all up!
There wasn't an abundance of spice in this book which was great because it is the first book in this series and I can't wait for the next. This book makes me want to read more cowboy romances because Kelly Kelsey reminded me how hot they can be without putting all of the spice in them. Throw some forbidden banter in with hot cowboys and voila you have a romance book living rent free in your head.
Pleas do yourself a favor and pick up Untamed by Kelly Kelsey today! You will not be disappointed!!

Untamed is book one in the Oakridge Ranch Series
I absolutely loved this book! Colter was a hot shot rodeo king until he was injured, and his life started to spiral, landing him alone and working as a ranch hand. Mila is the rancher owners 18 year old daughter who is coming home and wants to stay to help work the ranch, but her family wants her to go to college. Before Mila's arrival, her dad warned everyone to stay away.
This book has a bit of everything from grumpy/sunshine, obsession, love, and let's not forget the spice! This is the first book I've read from this author and OMG she did not let me down! I can't wait to get my hands on the rest of this series and other books she has. If you think this is your typical cowboy, romance isn't not. It's written well, I loved the storyline and the characters with their personalities popping off the pages. I definitely would recommend adding this book to your TBR if you enjoy grumpy/sunshine, age gap, friends to lovers, and spice!

Untamed was not what I was expecting. The cover threw me off... bright and sunny, but I guess that's for Sunshine, aka, Mila. I absolutely love Mila. 19 years old, but so much more mature than some women in their 30's. Colter is an ex rodeo king with a record working on the only ranch that would give him a chance. When Mila, the ranch owners daughter comes to visit, there's just one rule put in place. Hands off Mila. All the men are warned to stay away from her. But literally on day one, she sees Colter and an instant attraction is formed. The spice is spicy. Colter even had me blushing. The tension between them is strong and so is the chemistry. They try to keep them on the quiet from every one because Colter has a lot on the line,. But when an old friend of Mila's that has an attraction to her sees what's going on and realizes that his feelings aren't being reciprocated, he attempts to blacknail her. The story is captivating and keeps you wanting more. Colter is just such a dominant character, I absolutely loved him!!! The plot was intriguing, even though you could sort of predict where the story was headed, it was still a great read!!! This is definitely one to check out!

Mila (MFC) is the rancher’s daughter who is innocent, sweet, sassy and strong. She is untouchable. Then there is Colter (MMC) who is a grumpy ex-rodeo king who has a reputation and a complicated past. He was supposed to follow one thing – leave Mila alone. However, that is only temptation…
Their chemistry is 🔥🔥🔥and at times their interactions were funny. However, they genuinely cared for each other and wanted the best for each other. At times Mila was naïve about things and Colter did not think he was Mila equal. But they learn how to get through these hurdles.
This was the first time I read this author, and I am looking forward to other books in this series.

This is Book 1 of the Oakridge Ranch series.
First up, the artwork on this first book in the series is very pretty and definitely ties into the book.
The book itself follows Mila and Colter and their forbidden love after Mila's dad warns Colter and the other ranch hands to stay away from Mila.
What can you do about attraction, though?
The story does focuses primarily on Mila and Colter and how they get together - we see the initial interest, how they meet, the creeping around, and eventually... how they inevitably get found out.
There is the added intrigue layer of, just why is Colter a convict when he was once a Rodeo Champion? This runs through the story and does get ultimately answered.
It's an intriguing story, and I'm interested to see where Kelly takes us next in the series!

Colter is a convict,addict,ex rodeo king, bad ass grumpy ranch hand with a shady past. He works for Mila’s dad at Oakridge Ranch. Mila’s dad was the only one to give Colter a second chance and he doesn’t want to mess it up at all.
I loved both Mila and Colter together and separately! They worked so well together! It is definitely a slow burn but then when the spice hits it’s good! I really enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more by Kelly Kelsey! Thank you to happily hooked and Kelly Kelsey for the ARC!
