Tomi helped sparked a war—now he must end it before it consumes the kingdom.
After a desperate warning draws him into the ranks of the Forsworn, a band of exiles fighting for survival in a war-torn land, Tomi finds himself caught in a brutal struggle against Cedric’s relentless forces. His skills as a hunter and his instincts become essential as he navigates the treacherous wilderness, the chaos of battle, and the whispers of ancient spirits that guide and challenge him. As rival armies clash and betrayal runs deep, Tomi unravels the secrets of his father’s book and the mysterious Pathos powers that tie him to a destiny far greater than he imagined. Bound by a promise to the heirs of a lost king, he embarks on a perilous journey to unite a shattered realm and stop Cedric’s machinations before it’s too late.
Amid desperate battles, fractured loyalties, and the haunting legacy of his past, Tomi must face impossible choices that could save the kingdom—or destroy it. As the flames of war threaten to engulf everything he holds dear, the fate of the realm hangs on his courage, resolve, and the power he is only just beginning to understand.
Hey, I’m Simon Shugar—fantasy author hooked on telling bold, emotional, action-heavy stories through raw, first-person journeys. If you like coming-of-age arcs, epic stakes, and human struggles in unreal worlds, you're in the right place!
I’m originally from Oxfordshire, England, now living in North Carolina with my wild little toddler and our very chill (and very spoiled) dog, Jasper. I’ve loved fantasy for as long as I can remember—drawn in by the magic, the grit, and the heart at the center of it all.
I studied game design for a bit, then pivoted into software engineering to pay the bills. But somewhere in between code and chaos, I started writing stories—and once I did, I couldn’t stop. Fast forward to now, I’ve written 13 novels across three trilogies and a standalone, with plenty more on the way.
Great book great characters, hard to put it down. Story was good to ever slow down, was very interesting all the way through, lots of characters, but not overly complicated.
This author has the best descriptions of any author I have read in a long time. Usually I skip a lot of the descriptive parts, but this author made me want to read every word.
Nice storytelling. I just wish the ending would have been different. But I can't complain. Solid read. Gave me something to do when i really needed it. Thanks,
