The Forever Chapter

Rate this book
After an awful date, Olivia White is trying to get back to her hometown of Lily Point. She recognizes a man from her hometown walking to his truck and asks for a ride. Little did she know, one night of bar food and tequila shots would change her life forever.

Holden Murphy is mostly quiet, grumpy and keeps to himself. Taking Liv to the small bar in town before going home might have been a bad idea. After indulging in the best bar food and tequila shots, he offers to be a gentleman and walk Liv to her house.

One night turns into multiple secret hookups and everything changes. The pair only agreed to a friends with benefits arrangement, because catching feelings was something neither person wanted. Feelings form, and two pink lines confirm their chapter isn't over.

The Forever Chapter is a secret hookup, friends with benefits, accidental pregnancy romance book with lots of spice, banter and innuendos.

A Fantastic End to the Series

Scott truly saved the best for last in this series. While I thoroughly enjoyed all the Murphy Brothers books, Holden has to be my favorite. I never expected to fall for a character like him, but he completely won me over. Despite his grumpy exterior, he’s the ultimate package—hot, caring, and a big softy, especially when it comes to being a dad. His chemistry with Liv is electric and makes for one incredibly entertaining read. If you’re looking for a heartfelt, steamy romance, this book is a must-read!

A middling review

Frankly, the author needs better beta readers and editors. There are so many typos and stilted descriptions. The series is decent for her first works. It just needs some pruning.

Characters have momentary language quirks that never come back again (FMC saying "Holy shizzballs" really? It's very cringe but also a character who says something this stupid would be bound to say more weird phrases. Spoilers-she doesn't). Characters also said overly dramatic phrases that I've never seen real humans use or say. "Yes! Yes, a thousand times yes!" To an engagement? Ugh.

Sometimes, there was a focus on very mundane things. Why did I know more about how Holden's kitchen looked VS his business/craft/job?

Scenes sometimes felt like I was reading a student essay that needed to be a certain length and became tedious. I don't need to know about him making some weird patriotic table and how he bubble wraps it. That table had more of a description than the FMC's parents.

Also... over the last 3 books, the brothers' Mom went from a little nosey to invasive and toxic. Parking her car down the street to spy on her adult son to gather info on if he's dating? That's so gross.

All in all, it was an okay book in an okay series. If the author sees this, seriously. Get. Better. Editors. They did you dirty. There is a lot of potential, but you need help.

Loved this series (all three of them)!

Totally loved this series! I think this is the best one. It’s easy to read and the characters are well written. I’m also impressed with all the Lilly names in the town.
