Stuck on the Slopes

Rate this book
The cabin is heating up in this romantic comedy as a pro-athlete and corporate marketer dodge the tabloids and save a ski lodge.
Professional athlete Juniper Hart was forced into retirement after a devastating snowboarding accident left him with a permanent injury. Despite the media wondering if he’ll make a return to the slopes, he acquired a failed Colorado ski lodge. With only his service dog, Sasquatch, for company, he needs help bringing the lodge back to life.
When burned-out corporate ladder-climber Rachel Friedman doesn't get the raise needed to afford her rising rent costs, she trades in her Florida summers for Colorado winters. As Juniper Hart’s live-in resort manager, his attitude toward an increasing media presence leaves her wondering if the pay increase and free rent are worth it.
Rachel needs to thaw Juniper’s icy heart so they can work together to save the lodge (and her job along with it). But first, she’ll need to establish dominance over the tabloids to earn Juniper’s trust and take control of the media’s narrative.

3.5 stars! ⭐️ Huge thanks to Jessica Salina, Conquest Publishing & BookSirens for the ARC 💌

Okay so — this book had me giggling, sighing, AND yelling at the characters all at once… in the best way.

"Stuck on the Slopes" drops you into this snowy little Colorado lodge with all the forced proximity, grumpy/sunshine vibes you could ever ask for. It’s giving snowstorm meets sexual tension, and I was so here for it.

Juniper Hart (yes, like the most poetic name ever) is a former pro snowboarder turned reluctant innkeeper after a devastating injury forces him off the slopes. He’s got the emotional walls of a medieval castle and a service dog named Sasquatch (10/10 would adopt) who honestly deserves his own novella. Enter Rachel Friedman, burnt-out marketing exec who ditches the Florida sun for mountain storms and a free place to stay. The tension? Immediate. Icy. Delicious. And it only gets hotter.

The vibes were on point: snowy mornings, slow-burn flirtation, media chaos, secret soft moments by the fire... mwah. And if you're into grumpy men who need emotional CPR and capable women who are DONE with corporate BS — you’re in for a treat.

Also — loved the themes of chronic pain and recovery.

Rachel’s backbone was everything. Watching her stand up for herself (and lowkey fix Juniper's entire emotional life) was chef’s kiss. And seeing a man be the one who needs healing for once? YES. MORE OF THIS.

Oh and spice? It’s there. It’s not overwhelming, but definitely cozy-lodge-door-closing kinda stuff 🌶🌶. You’ll get your reward after that slow burn, trust me.

Bottom line? This isn’t just a romance, it’s a story about starting over, pushing through pain, and finding warmth in unexpected places. And the dog. Don’t forget the dog. Sasquatch is the real MVP. 🐾

So yeah, it’s not perfect — but it’s heartfelt, fun, and full of snowy swoon. Grab it when it drops May 13th! ❄️✨

Stuck on the Slopes was a timely read. I live in central NY and we were hammered by snow this week. So as I read it, I felt quite at home with the cozy "snowed in" feeling this romance gives.

We meet Rachel Friedman as she is devastated by her corporate job. She needs more money to cover the rising costs of living, and her company has come up empty handed.

Professional athlete Juniper Hart isn't having the best year either. After an accident leaves him with a permanent injury, snowboarding is off the table.

These two collide at a historic ski resort that needs saving! Together, with his service dog, Sasquatch, they have to find a way to bring the resort back to life, if only they can avoid burying each other in the process!

The spice, the banter, the inclusivity and the grumpy/sunshine aspects of this book are SO HEARTWARMING- which I needed- it's only 9 degrees here.

Set to release in May of 2025, I am so thankful I had a chance to read this book with a cup of hot cocoa and a blanket. Thank you to Book Sirens and Jessica Salina for the chance to read and review- it was a great time!

I got an ARC of this book. Really liked the disability/chronic pain representation. I haven’t read many books that include that topic so well. Very cute romance, always love a dog wingman. Only thing I couldn’t get behind was the nickname “Juni” but maybe that’s just me.

A fun forced proximity, grumpy x sunshine workplace dual pov romance debut that takes place at a Colorado resort and has the owner, a former pro snowboarder and his new social media manager newly moved from Florida falling in love as they spend time getting the resort ready to open. I liked this a lot, thought it had excellent disability rep (he has chronic pain, uses mobility aids and has a service dog) but I didn't love it on audio narrated by one female narrator who didn't do a great job voicing the MMC, making it confusing at times whose head we were in when the pov switched. Overall a solid debut recommended for fans of the upcoming It's all in your head (another book with a ex pro snowboarder with chronic pain and mobility aids).

This one truly had all the elements of a romantic comedy.

Snuggly, sweet and fuzzy heart feelings.

I absolutely loved this sweet and easy-to-read (or in my case, easy-to-listen) book! Stuck on the Slopes by Jessica Salina is such a fun and heartwarming romantic comedy. The story is entertaining, the characters are relatable, and I was hooked from the beginning.

I listened to the audiobook version, and Calley Lupiccini did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life. Her narration added so much personality and charm to the story, it made the experience even better.

Juniper, the broody ex-snowboarder with his adorable service dog Sasquatch, and Rachel, the ambitious but burnt-out marketing pro, make such a great pair. Their chemistry is believable, the setting is cozy, and the lodge renovation plot added a fun backdrop to their evolving relationship. There’s just the right balance of humor, heart, and a little bit of heat.

Definitely a feel-good listen and perfect if you want something light but engaging. I’ll be keeping an eye out for more from this author!

Stuck on the Slopes is a cozy holiday romance but make it inclusive. The FMC quits her corporate job and moves to a small town to work as a marketing manager for a ski lodge owned by a grumpy former pro snowboarder. She realizes she’s taking a big career risk but what she doesn’t realize is she is also risking her heart. I love that there was mention of different genders, orientations, cultures, and abilities in this book. It was equal parts wholesome romance with just enough “good girl”s and spice. There’s character development and plot-line outside of the romance as well. I feel like this was one of the most relatable romances I have read lately. I really appreciated the emo and millennial references and that the MMC was a 30 something.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I really enjoyed this very sweet and medium spicy romance set at a historic ski resort. The setting is fun as you see behind the scenes in rebuilding the resort and it brings you right into the beautiful snowy mountains!

The story flowed really well and had great consistent pacing. It touches on themes of toxic work environments, difficult family relationships, disability, fame, loneliness, and of course, love.

The characters are likable and they both grow as people over time. I also loved the service dog Sasquatch! Some of the life lessons and growth felt a touch repetitive and telling vs. showing 3/4ths of the way into the book, but overall really good character arcs.

This will be an excellent romance to pick up for next winter! Comes out May 2025. 4.75 stars.

Thanks to BookSirens and the author for a free copy of this book.

Rachel is suffering from a burn-out, and when her manager rates her a 3 in her performance appraisal, she’s had enough. On a whim she applies for a job in snowy Colorado, a long way from Florida and her family.

Juniper needs someone to help him set up his ski-resort, and off all the fan girl applicants no-one seems suitable. But then Rachel applies, and besides being more than qualified, she doesn’t seem to have a clue he was once a superstar snowboarder. Perfect.

They don’t exactly hit it off. Juniper is grumpy, fuelled by being in constant pain due to his life changing accident, and the only thing that keeps Rachel there is her stubbornness. And his cute assistance dog Sasquatch.

But as snow falls around them, their hearts melt little by little, till they realise that there is so much more to the other person than they thought.

I loved this book.

Juniper is very flawed, grumpy, insecure and guarded. Rachel has her own issues with her identity but stands up for herself and for Juniper.

The story would lend itself for the predictable arc of hate - love - big misunderstanding - getting back together, but it’s actually quite nice that this doesn’t happen and the story just rolls along in a much more believable way. The spicy scenes are good, although not essential for the plot. The characters are human, real and sweet.

Big thumbs up.

I want to preface this with the fact that I rarely read straight romance books. I’m normally more of a dark fantasy with a little romance thrown in sort of girl.

I enjoyed the funny millennial references and as a born and raised Fl girl myself, understood how wonderful the FMC had to have felt leaving this godforsaken state.

This book had a great flow to it and behind that had some wonderful messages that warmed me. It reminds the reader that despite all the walls we can throw up against the hurt the world throws at us, there are always people there waiting to tear them down and accept us as we are. That we are bigger than the “labels” people place on us. And that there is hope that all the tough challenges we face in life lead us to where we need to be in the end.

When Juniper Hart, professional snowboarder, is forced into retirement due to injury, he buys a lodge with plans to restore it. But he needs help. Lucky for him, Rachel Friedman is looking for a change and decided to relocate from Florida to the Colorado mountains to help him out. The grumpy/sunshine dynamic fades into romance in this rom-com.

For the most part, I enjoyed this book - full of classic tropes, witty banter, and even an adorable service dog named Sasquatch. However, I did find myself doing some eye rolling at the amount of times a 30 year old man let his insecurities take over, even when it involved the minorest (is that a word?) of details. I know they needed some drama, but this part didn't work for me.

The pacing was a little slow, but it was definitely a very slow burn type of relationship, so maybe that was ok. Overall, it was fun cute read to kick off some nicer weather we're finally having in my neck of the woods.

Tropes: grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity, dating a celebrity
Spice: 🌶️🌶️

This is an ARC review. I want to thank Conquest Publishing and author Jessica Salina for allowing me the chance to read this before release date! This book initially I had a hard time getting into at first. I believed it was due to me having wishing for more dialogue which did hit more the second half of the book. Now after reflecting, I think it was due to the slow burn effect in the book and oh how I wished for their love to blow up like an explosion! I loved the premise of the story with Rachel needing to start over not just in a new city but new state. Juniper I felt was everyone who allowed themselves to get stuck in a rut after something negative happened. To an extent I felt like we could all learn from his choices and attitude. This is one of the few books the girl actually is the one to heal her man. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea but it was mine! Lastly, I have a soft spot for the author to put in her own lived experiences within her book.

An Unusual Hero And quite A Good Story

I truly enjoyed reading this book from the start, because it was a special one.
The story contained all the feels and enough drama to capture the reader’s attention all the time while reading. It’s also a bit unusual in a good way for a classical romance novel, because the male main character Juniper is not as pitch perfect as heroes in other romance novels usually are. Those often are beautiful species of men, billionaires in her prime with the best body shape possible (even if they are working more than 70 hours a week at an office).
This hero is quite special because he suffers from a severe injury caused by an accident, which turned his life from having a successful sports career into a life full of hurt, which always will be a part of his future. He will never have a come back to his former profession and whilst he is severely handicapped and won’t be able to do a lot of things regarding usual daily tasks, he always will need medication and the help of his service dog.
Juniper’s relations with family and friends have changed since his accident and he now tries to find a new direction for his future life. He does that with buying a dilapidated ski resort in Colorado and slowly bringing it back to it’s former glory. Because he isn’t able to manage all tasks by himself, he needs to find a professional personal assistant for hiring new employees, helping with interior design, someone who will plan the opening of the resort and who also is qualified in marketing. There are several applications from females who still remember his fame, but are not really interested in or even qualified for doing the job.
And here comes Rachel, a marketing expert from Orlando, Florida, a rather different part of the USA, who suffered through a lot of harassment and psychical abuse at her last place of work, where she worked hard and gained a lot of successful outcomes, of which she never was appreciated for, because among other things she rejected the advances of her former boss.
Rachel has no idea about Juniper or his fame in the past, but is motivated to start over in a for her completely new habitat in Colorado.
And this is the point where I won’t tell you much more. Perhaps you can already imagine, there will be not a lot of „smooth sailing“ during this story. Juniper and Rachel each will have to learn to overcome some of their bad personal experiences from the past, and they also will be confronted with some unexpected obstacles.
I received a free ARC of this book, wrote this review voluntarily expressing my honest opinion about it. As mentioned above I really enjoyed reading this romance, and am looking forward to future book releases by Mrs. Salina.

Recommended for readers who like a heartfelt romance novel with a tiny bit of drama, realistically developed main characters and an extremely adorable service dog.

Juniper Hart was a pro snowboarder who had it all until a devastating accident caused him to leave the sport for good. Looking to start over, he purchases the Elk Lodge in the hopes of revamping it and creating a premier ski resort. He needs help to get the property in working order and get a marketing plan in place. When Rachel Friedman applies for the job, he can’t refuse.

Rachel is a marketing executive who is unappreciated in her job. After an awful performance review that doesn’t acknowledge the hard work she’s put in, she decides to look for a new job. When a listing in Colorado catches her eye she decides to completely unroot her life in Orlando and move across the country. Though they have a bit of a rocky start, Rachel and Juniper work together to make his dream become a reality. Along the way they grow closer, but will Juniper be able to tear down his walls.

This was such an enjoyable story! Rachel and Juniper quickly build a solid friendship, and I loved watching the natural progression as they take their relationship to the next level. Juniper has a lot of reasons for keeping his guard up. After a horrific accident left him with chronic pain and disability, his only relationship is with his service dog Sasquatch. Betrayed by his ex and his best friend, he doesn’t trust easily. It was so lovely to see him slowly begin to trust Rachel. Her kindness and steadfastness really grounded him, and I felt that the love each had for the other unfolded organically. Both characters are likable and you really root for them.

I thought Ms. Salina did a wonderful job of portraying Juniper’s disability and the very real daily struggles he faced as he managed his pain. Despite his injury, he had a kind heart and really cared for his employees and Rachel. This was such a quick and easy read. My only complaint was that it seemed to end a bit abruptly for me. All in all, it was a cozy read with a bit of spice and likable characters.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Ohmygosh this was so cute—before I knew it, I’d consumed the entire book in one sitting! What I enjoyed was how it packed in so many fun tropes, but they all felt like they fit in naturally. Sometimes you can tell when someone is just building them in purposefully—this didn’t feel that way at all.

It also gave me leads to love and root for—but also to relate to, and a parent to hate—so fun! I hope to hear or read more from this author!

Overall:
There was so much to enjoy here, it just sucked me in. I couldn’t put it down. Thanks to the author for shining a spotlight on so many important issues:
The tragic overdevelopment of Florida.
Invisible disabilities.
Working dog responsibilities.
To name a few. It was repeatedly said that the MMC was an ayhole (cens0red, sorry), yet this really wasn’t shown, he was always considerate, nice, polite, thoughtful, etc.

4 stars.

Audio:
Not good. So:
Overall sound quality was great, it was professionally produced.
The narration was bad, very robotic, to the point I expected to learn it was virtual voice/ was SHOCKED to realize a human is credited with this. This end was honestly awful. If the content wasn’t as addictive as it was for me, it’d have been a DNF as listening to the robotic droning is not something I’m usually able to tolerate.

This is a 4-star production and a 4-star read, tragically dictated instead of performed.

I'll start by saying a huge thank you to Jessica Salina for the ARC for her latest novel, Stuck on the Slopes. 🥰

⭐️⭐️⭐️,5
🌶

I had a lot of fun reading this book, it was quick and efficient, and overall really good.

I have docked a few stars because of personal preference. I am really uneducated about Jewish culture, which was very present in this book (which is absolutely fine, and really interesting) so I wish the author would have been more descriptive, or explained the different aspects of the culture, or the words, or things, that were used throughout the book. I had to Google a lot of things yo know what they were, which is fine, but I would have preferred for the author to answer those questions in the book itself. Once again, this is purely because of my own lack of knowledge about Jewish culture, not a reflection of what everybody will experience reading this book.

The story was good, even if the jumps in time were sometimes a bit steep and gave the characters a whole new behavior that seems unexplainable, until you realise a month has actually passed, and only then does it make sense.

Juniper is a whole mood, he is perfect, and I love him with all my heart. Truly, I just want to hug him and never let him go, but this grouch would surely brush me off, so I'll leave that to Rachel. Also, Sasquatch is absolutely the best part of this book, and I almost wish he would have been even more on page. 🐕‍🦺

Anyway ! It was a good book overall, and I definitely recommend you give it a try, especially if you can connect with the characters more than I could as a non-Jewish, non-chronic pain suffering reader. (Although I have to sciaticas so I guess I can relate to Juniper on that note)

Stuck on the Slopes comes out on May 13th, so be sure to grap your copy ✨️

At the beginning, the narrator gave way too many unnecessary details that were not in the book itself, especially about actions, and her voice felt a little meh. But as the book went on, you could hear her confidence growing. Sometimes she mixed up the “him” and “her” voices, which could get confusing, but overall it worked.

Now the book itself, Juniper was sooo rude to people, like he really needed media training lol. The side characters were cool and I just wish we got to see them more in depth. Sasquatch was adorable, and I honestly believe dogs never get vibes wrong. Also, Juniper being a closeted softie was not on my bingo card at all.

Rachel was such a great friend. I mean, what kind of friend carries your meds around just in case you might need them?? She was patient with Juni, gave him space when he needed it, but also knew when to step in and not let him drift too far. Their chemistry was there since the beginning, and the snowed in with one bed trope combo? Loved it.

The spice was cute and not too much, perfect for beginners. I really appreciated the aftercare and especially the way Rachel reassured him. Juni had so much going on in his mind, and Rachel just seemed to always know what he needed.

As for the family, hated the mom, loved the dad. Juni defending Rachel every time >>>>. The ending tho, I wanted a little more, or at least a stronger third act. It felt kind of flat.

Overall, it was a cute and quick read and listen. I’d 100% recommend it. Thank you to StoryOrigin and Jessica for the ALC, I really appreciate it!

Marketing director Rachel has been toiling away at a thankless position for a company which has consistently undervalued her. When an opportunity arises to become the marketing director of an overhauled ski resort in Colorado, the Florida native trades her bermudas for a parka and never looks back. Despite her strong attraction to the complicated and sometimes mercurial owner, Rachel is an exceedingly competent hire who brings much more to the table than just her PR savvy.

When a horr!f!c injury ends his professional snowboarding career and leaves him with chronic, intractable pain, Juniper purchases a rundown ski resort that he hopes will at least stay afloat through its inaugural season. With the help of medicinal gummies and the assistance of his service dog Sasquatch, he’s doing his best to make a go of it. Hiring Rachel proves to be a winning choice from the beginning, but Juniper never anticipated developing feelings for her.

The contrast of Rachel’s loving, supportive family with Juniper’s toxic mother is palpable, and the fact that Rachel is strong and independent as well as a boon to Juniper is a refreshing change from the über competent wealthy man rescuing the younger damsel in distress. This is one of my favorite facets of this slow burn romance.

I was generously furnished an advance reader copy from booksirens, and I’m sharing my honest review.

Stuck on the Slopes is a heartfelt winter romance romcom with amazing disability representation and the world’s cutest service dog.

Juniper Hart is a professional snowboarder who acquires a failed ski lodge after an accident leaves him with a permanent injury. Juniper’s invisible disability and daily struggles with chronic pain flare ups, anxiety and PTSD was all so well done. I especially loved his service dog who also acted as his little wingman floof sometimes!

Rachel Friedman is such a strong FMC—and sassy when she wants to be! Rachel leaves her toxic corporate marketing job behind and moves from Florida to Colorado to be the new live-in manager at the ski lodge. Her Jewish roots were so beautifully woven into this story (& made me hungry for challah and latkes).

Rachel and Juniper balanced each other out so well between all of their tension, witty banter and grumpy x sunshine dynamic. Their raw vulnerability and growth, both individually and together, while navigating a new friendship into something more was like watching a sweet and spicy winter Hallmark romcom slowly unfolding.

Thank you so much to Jessica Salina for a copy of this ARC! I absolutely loved this book and definitely recommend it!!

Rachel feels stuck in a job where she doesn't feel appreciated and she's suffering from burn-out. Scrolling through some job openings, she spots one that involves running a ski resort in Colorado. Being a Florida girl, that's not even in her wheelhouse, but it sure sounds interesting. Juniper (Juni) is a professional snowboarder who has been injured in an accident and can't compete anymore. He has chronic pain that often flares up to the extent that his service dog, Sasquatch, is trained to make sure that he has his medicine. Now that he's retired, Juni wants to stay around the sport that he loves so much, so he's busy turning a dilapidated ski resort into a world class resort. He can't manage it all by himself and when he interviews Rachel, he knows she's perfect for the job. She didn't even know who he was and that means she didn't want to work with him because he was a star, which is so refreshing. They hit it off, but in a slow burn sort of friendship, and I have to admit that it moved at a perfect rate. Juniper and Rachel make a wonderful couple; however, with Sasquatch, they are the perfect family!
The narration is wonderfully done by Cailey Lupiccini. Her clear and dynamic voice with proper pacing and pronunciation helped to bring each of the characters to life.

First of all ... I have a new favorite trope. I love the grumpy vs sunshine, but I also liked how the MMC was disabled. That's a refreshing take on a romantic type of book. It adds a layer of closest with the story and the characters.
While reading this, I felt like I was in the story, like I was one of the characters. Another refreshing take. I felt happy and giddy along with the MFC and standoffish with the MMC. But love all at the same time because you get both sides of the story. His a long with hers. Loved that duel views. This story would have been fabulous with just one view but having both added something special.
I also felt a little bit of sadness when it ended. Not that the story ends on a sad note. But that, the story ended. I was so in love with those characters, it was sad that I wouldn't know how things go from there. I would read a part 2, maybe?
I would love to read more by this author.

I liked the premise of this novel, grumpy sunshine is a trope I absolutely adore & winter wonderlands are their own kind of magic.

I also really appreciate divergent characters, whether they are neurodivergent or have unique physical needs. This is more realistic for the would I live in, and it helps me better connect and empathize with the characters.

There were some inconsistencies that made the story more confusing to follow vs. being an easy read. Closing the holes within scenes (for instance, a private conversation happening while the FMC is supposed to be on an unmuted video call with her family) and smoothing out some of the abrupt scene changes (for instance, clarifying a shift in time and setting rather than having the same character continue their seemingly connected train of thought on the same page) would have helped improve the reading experience for me.

Thank you to the author for the opportunity to read this story with a digital ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This book centers on a small ski lodge in Colorado, where an ex-professional snowboarder needs a new marketing manager to help open the resort. The story is sweet, with a touch of spice after a slow burn. There is some use of medicinal MJ in the book, which didn’t bother me, but could for others. This book didn’t have me laughing out loud, even though it's labeled a romantic comedy, but it is a book to help get you in the holiday mood.
I received an advanced listeners' copy for free, and I am leaving this review honestly and voluntarily, so my review of the audiobook is a little sub-par. The narrator seemed bland to begin with (actually had to make sure it wasn’t a “virtual reader” ie: AI reader as it was so lacking feeling) but as the story went on, the narration got a little better. It was hard to listen to the female narrator acting as the male characters, as they just sounded like 12 y/o little boys instead of “Mountain Men”. As warm as the story was, the narration felt cold. I would probably try this book again to be read and not listened to.

Rachel has had enough of her corporate job in Florida and on a whim applies for a position in Colorado a long way from home.

Juniper was a professional snowboarding that was injured in an accident causing him to leave the sport. He is now opening a ski resort and needs to hire help when Rachel's resume comes his way and is more then qualified for the position.

The two do not exactly hit is off, Juniper is grumpy due to his chronic pain from his injuries but it seems Rachel knows how to handle him and his attitude.

The two begin to work closely to get the lodge ready for opening and in the process they grow closer and Juniper was even to let walls come down he has had up.

I do like the way Jessica can stand up for herself especially against Juniper's mom and can't forget to mention Juniper's service dog, Sasquatch who anticipates the needs of Juniper.

Thank you to Booksirens and the author Jessica Salina for this ARC

Slow Burn, Co-Workers, Realistic Grumpy / Sunshine with Heat and Heart

This book was different and much deeper than the typical rom-com which in this case is a great thing. Although it has most of the elements (without a third act break-up), it also has so much more. Juniper faces physical challenges - with the aide of Sasquatch- his adorable support dog, and Rachel is having both culture and career shock leaving a corporate job in congested Florida for the first time to help Juniper launch his resort in cold, snowy, rural Colorado. But I loved how hardworking and competent they both were, and how despite the mutual attraction and Juniper's sky high walls they built a trusting friendship first. The book was well written, the characters well developed and I look forward to reading more from this author.

I was sent an ARC by the author and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

This snowy romance delivers heartfelt character work but stumbles in the audio execution.

Juniper shines with authentic disability representation. His chronic pain journey and bond with his service dog are sensitively portrayed, rooted in trauma from a snowboarding accident.

Rachel brings fresh energy, having uprooted her life to work at the ski lodge, adding a layer of personal reinvention to the story.

Unfortunately, the narration doesn’t quite match the emotional depth. The narrator reads rather than performs, with little vocal distinction between characters and a monotone delivery that flattens key moments. It’s a story that begs to be told with warmth and nuance—but the audio leaves it feeling cold.

Worth a listen for the representation and character arcs, but maybe with a side of patience—or playback speed adjustments.

I honestly liked this story quite a bit with the main characters, (Rachel and Juniper), having a lot of back stories they had to work through to find their HEA. Juniper has so many layers of pain, trust issues, parental angst, etc. that are lying just under the surface. Rachel has a wonderful calming and grounding effect on Juniper which makes them a perfect match.

The setting for the story is described beautifully, you can almost imagine being in the mountains of Colorado.

Personally, I prefer audiobooks that have dual narrators, especially when the chapters are written from each of the main character’s perspectives. The narration is okay (not enough difference between the voices of Rachel, Juniper, and other characters) for me.

Stuck on the Slopes was an absolute joy to listen to from start to finish! Jessica Salina has crafted a charming, witty, and heartwarming story that had me smiling, laughing, and completely hooked. The characters were relatable and endearing, and the pacing kept the story engaging without ever feeling rushed.

Cailey Lupiccini’s narration brought the entire book to life. Her voice work was expressive and perfectly matched the tone of the story, making each character memorable. She added an extra layer of magic that made the audiobook experience even more enjoyable.

If you're looking for a feel-good story with great chemistry, humor, and a touch of wintery romance, this is it. I definitely recommend!

This book was all consuming! I work 40 hours a week and I wanted to keep reading. I stayed up late and woke up early to read it!

This book was a beautiful look at chronic pain and how it truly affects a person. The writing was wonderful and captivating. It truly reminded me of my husband and I falling in love with the roles reversed! Juniper had accepted that pain was a part of his daily life but no one else had. Rachel was so understanding and he let his guard down with her and it was beautiful to watch!

My favorite part was when his own mom looks at him and says “you look fine” and I wanted to punch her for him! As someone who has Fibromyalgia it was real and authentic. Unfortunately we truly hear that all the time!

Thank you to Book Sirens and Jessica for this ARC! It was worth every word that I read! Truly Jessica as. Fellow Fibro warrior, thank you.
