"Een meesterwerk van spanning en mysterie. Blake Pierce heeft uitstekend werk geleverd met het ontwikkelen van personages met een psychologische kant die zo goed beschreven is dat we ons in hun gedachten kunnen verplaatsen, hun angsten kunnen voelen en voor hun succes juichen. Vol wendingen houdt dit boek je wakker tot de laatste bladzijde." --Books and Movie Reviews, Roberto Mattos (over Once Gone)

I really enjoy Blake Pierce’s books. I find them easy to read, well-paced and the stories are interesting. This is another thriller in the Jessie Hunt series, book 11.
The story begins with the murder of a very prominent Hollywood lawyer, with an impressive clientele. The murder takes place at a famous, media moguls home, where Jessie delves into the lives of the rich, entitled and self serving celebrities. The story evolves from a single murder to more troubling and widespread crimes; true evil. I would have loved the book to be a bit longer with more details about the larger scale crimes. The storylines are very appropriate for our times today.
I completely enjoyed this series and loved the latest installment. And it’s a quick read to get another book added to your year-end reading totals. 😁
These books aren't extraordinary, but they are fun in-between reads. This one was just as quick and easy to read as the others in the series. The particular case was interesting, and the characters were likable. I enjoy the build-up of the overarching plot, and I plan to continue the series. Solid suspense/thriller.
I absolutely love the Jessie Hunt Series as she always gets the villain and is extremely resourceful, resilient, and intelligent. I admire her love interest, Ryan, her coworkers, her sister, and her best friend, Kat who all add to the main plot of each novel. I will be reading the next book in this series.
WHAT IS ... The Perfect Secret Another great psychological thriller. This mystery had me going from one emotional rollercoaster of a ride to another. I was scared for Hannah, sad for Ryan and happy that Jessie is able to keep her family together in Garland Moses house 🏡 no less. This the story of rich self important wealthy people. I am happy that Jessie and Ryan are still together even though he's mobility challenged. A lawyer has been murdered in a rich self righteous Media mogul's house. The reason I did not tell you any more of the story line because I did not want to give away the story. You will love this book even if you have not read any of Blake Pierce's books you will enjoy this book and maybe make you want to go back and start from the beginning of when Jessie Hunt became a LAPD profiler. I read the first book and after that I was reading one book after the other. These books are really thrilling and some are very intense. Get this series not just this book 📚 I highly recommend it.
Wow, the first book in the series I DIDN’T hate! Honestly the teenage prostitution ring was super interesting and was better than the murder, which seemed dumb and pointless; his motive was lame. I love Hannah’s wild side but man does she give Jessie an attitude for absolutely no reason every day. I’m disappointed Ryan is obviously making a complete recovery because that isn’t realistic but it’s totally predictable 🙄
I liked this book although t it started out with a Hollywood type premise. I don’t like those premises from this author verse the ones that share about life. It was also cool to hear about Jesse’s life as Ryan recover. Hannahs story line is interesting- I wonder where the author will take her as the series unfolds

Just when I thought I was going to give up on the Jessie Hunt series, Blake Pierce has reeled me back in with yet another 'Perfect' story.
After leaving the LAPD following the events of Book 9, Jessie is slowly picking up the pieces of her life, while taking care of her half-sister Hannah and now wheelchair-bound boyfriend Ryan. She is, however lured back to work on a case for the LAPD as a freelance consultant, considering the extremely high-profile and delicate nature of the case. What starts of as a pretty straightforward murder soon turns into a series of twists and turns keeping one totally immersed.
The plot was fast-paced and intriguing, compelling me to finish the book within a day. The author has come a long way from the first book in the series, and not just in terms of number of books written but also with regards to the quality of their work.
Though I was tempted to ditch the series since I couldn't bear to imagine an invalid Ryan, I am glad I gave it another chance. Hannah was another surprise in the book. Despite everyone's fears regarding Hannah giving into her darker sociopathic nature, she seems to be following in her crime-fighting, badass sister's footsteps.
Overall, an enjoyable read and well-written suspense thriller. Having read the epilogue, I now can't wait to read Book 12.
Question to the author : Will Hannah be getting her own spin-off series or will she continue to be her sister's unofficial side-kick?
Oh my goodness! I am inhaling this series like they're oxygen and I can't breathe! Like they're water and I need to quench my thirst!!!
Just when I think, ok, I need to read something different, I can't just read Jessie Hunt books, Blake Pierce ends the current book I'm reading in such a way THAT I'm so impatient to find out more, I start the next one ASAP!
😂
One of the benefits of waiting so long BEFORE starting a series!
That said, of the 11 books in this series, this one really hit home for me. Hard. Without going into detail, I was recently very very sick and in the ICU and hospital for three months.
My recovery and slow progress with physical, occupational, speech, respiratory, mental, emotional, and all the other therapies took a very very long time AND were so on point closely depicted in this book. It was jarring. You could even say it was triggering at times and brought back the PTSD that I had worked hard to work through.
I was on the ventilator and then eventually had a tracheostomy, that has forever altered my esophagus, vocal chords, and the way I speak and swallow.
The struggles written in this book so closely mimicked mine, some scenes were hard to read through.
Thank you, Blake, for keeping your novels real and as true and genuine to reality as possible.
Listened to the audiobook. It's the 11th book in this series.
This story begins with a female murdered during a multi-billionaire's party (Jasper Otis) in his Beverley Hills mansion. Is he involved or even know what's going on?
The story was nicely paced & an easy read.
The victim was an attorney. Of course, her ex-husband, also an attorney, is suspected of her demise.
Jessica Hunt continues to be resilient and resourceful. She now teaches, but also works with the LAPD as an investigator on a consulting basis. There's a nice balance of personal & professional life.
Her 1/2 sister, a senior in High School, gets involved in a creepy situation at school, and brings it to Jessie. She seems to seek and get a thrill out of her encounters with danger - an adrenaline junkie?
Ryan continues to recover from his injuries, moving into the house Jessie has inherited from her recently deceased friend, Gorland Moses, from the hospital. He begins his physical therapy, seeming to make incredible progress.
In this installment of the Jessie Hunt series, Jessie is still working as a consultant for the local police department. Jessie's boyfriend, Ryan, has now been released from the hospital into Jessie's care, and Jessie quickly drops the responsibility on her half-sister Hannah and then soon 24-hour nursing staff. I found this disturbing. I get Jessie feels a deep need to serve and protect, and her loyalty to her boss is commendable. Jessie is asked to work on the investigation of a murder that took place at a huge party thrown by a super-rich man. Intermixed with this story is an apparent child trafficking ring. There's so much going on here in Jessie's life, and she hardly seems equipped to handle any of these very well. I have lost interest in Jessie Hunt, and Hannah is too impulsive, justifying her behaviors with terrible logic. It's just too frustrating for me to continue this series.
Another easy to read, faced paced book in the series. There was a lot going on in this one so we bounced around a lot. With Ryan recovering from his near fatal stab wound, I did miss the Jessie/Ryan work dynamic (although they had a really sweet moment at the end of the book which was nice). Did enjoy Det Karen Bray and what she brought to the investigation. Hope to see more of her in the future. Not really liking the Hannah story line all that much. I would have liked to see her character start developing in a different, more positive and healthy way - we will just have to see how that pans out. Looking forward to the Night Stalker story line...should be interesting to see that unfold.
“I accidentally…yanked her neck too hard [during a make-out sesh] and it broke” (154). Really? I can’t fathom that. And really, I don’t know how much longer I can fathom reading this series. Here’s another absurdity: “Would [Ryan] ever walk again” (76). Several books earlier he was stabbed in the chest. And now he can’t walk? I mean, how does a stab wound in the chest affect your mobility?
I hoped to make my way through all 19 books, even though they aren’t great but are quick reads and fun. But now, even though I’m dying to know what happens (like maybe Ryan breaks up with Jessie!), I think I’m done.

Read the series in order, or you will be confused. This is now book #11. I continue to enjoy the series. Jessie Hunt is back at it with yet another high profile murder, but a twist comes in that takes the story to two different places. At the end of book 10 a character is coming into play, and comes in at the end of this one too. It's coming for sure! I kinda miss Jessie and Ryan working together, but at least he's starting to heal. Hannah is more in this book than all the others, but I'm still trying to figure her out.

Jessie is overwhelmed with work, Ryan's return home and all the care he needs, and being responsible for Hannah. Although reluctantly she'll be involved in the murder case of a lawyer in the house of a media mogul. As she investigates she'll discover that the problems run much deeper, and there's a huge possibility that trafficking of young girls for sex is also involved. Fast-paced and with lots of action, Jessie will be split between her family and her professional duties which is a different twist to the series. I thank the author for the free copy of this book.
Loved it as usual just kind of missed the back and forth sweetness between Jessie and Ryan since he’s not in it much. Hanna is starting to like playing detective but only because of the rush she feels when she’s put in a dangerous situation. It’s definitely getting the sisters closer and I like the relationship they have with each other. Can’t wait for the next book 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 🤓❤️📚❣️❣️
Blake Pierce never disappoints. I love the Jesse Hunt series and this one has a lot going on. Her almost 18 year old half sister is living with her, her boyfriend who was brutally stabbed in previous book is also living with her, recovering with nurses caring for him, and the LAPD calls asking for help with a murder that takes place in a very famous very rich Hollywood moguls home. That is just for starters. If you love the Jesse Hunt series you'll love this!
I have loved all of the Jessie Hunt books. Maybe I liked this one more Because I took a break from the series for a few weeks. I love that Hannah is helping out, although it’s obvious that it’s not going to be easy for Jessie to except her more as a sister. She definitely acts like a parent. I loved the setting of this novel, with the mansion, and then Ryan coming home and living in Jessie‘s house, which was the one she got from Garland Moses.
The Perfect Secret, book eleven of the Jessie Hunt series.
I absolutely love the Jessie Hunt series and consider myself fully invested at this point to continue the series as long as it will go. Jessie is resilient, resourceful and an overall bad ass and I thoroughly enjoy her growing relationship with love interest Ryan Hernandez. Each book has a new case and a thrilling and suspenseful story line all while continuing Jessies personal life as well (that we have become so invested in). If you haven't started I highly recommend starting the series. They are short, quick, gripping reads.
It has been a nearly 2 months since I last read a book in the series. But it did not take me long to be invested in the story. I don’t know what it is with these sisters endangering themselves but they always seem to do it. I absolutely love Ryan and his little moments are so good especially with his recovery. I can’t wait until I read another book in this series because I need to know what happens next with the way this book ended
One of the best stories yet! I love that Hannah played such a big role. Anyone who loves a good story with action, suspense, and that's hard to put down will love this. Any book in the series can be read alone, but I'd highly recommend starting at the beginning and binge reading the series. 📚
The Perfect Secret was not my favorite Jessie Hunt books. I felt there was too much going on that didn't jive. I would like to have Ryan back on the force and helping Jessie solve cases.
I really enjoy the Jessie Hunt series. Psychological thriller keeps you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. Well written and an easy read. Once you start the series, you will become hooked. Highly recommended. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book was a good one. One of the better ones in the series so far. However, I definitely saw similarities to the Jeffery Epstein case which I found very interesting. It was nice to see Jessie softening a bit!
