There’s nothing like an old-fashioned Christmas.

Young Texas attorney JD Thompson just wasn’t expecting a Biblical one.

No Texas hospital will admit his sister in premature labor. His friend Nick is homeless and jobless from recent injuries and old trauma. Neither has anyone to turn to except JD. Why can’t they have legal problems, like the rest of his quirky friends?

Still, he assembles an ad-hoc medical team of a veterinarian, a retired nurse, and a damaged EMT with a service dog. Can they save his sister and her baby? Can JD solve the mystery that threatens to destroy Nick and defend Nick’s service dog against the shelter full of cats in JD’s home?

Join JD in his sixth zany adventure as he learns that sometimes it’s best to go home by another way. Buy Stealing Saints today to better appreciate your own holiday season.

This ….absolutely wonderful! Well written endearing mystery by M.R. Dimond.no room at the inn ,well hospital actually, but it’s the same old story. His sister is in premature labour but can’t catch a break . No Texas hospital will take her in. JD Thompson is aghast at the drama then there’s his friend with no stipend in sight ,homeless , jobless from recent injuries and trauma. Being a Texas attorney,he preferred this journey be of the legal nature ,he’d know just how to handle, but determined is he and nobody can hold a candle to his nurturing nature and getting things done one way or another. Not only for himself and his PTSD brother who shares the same fears. His sister is going to live to be a mother if he can help it through his tears. This band of lost souls in this holiday season outlooks for a different reason , his saintly nature helps them more than his career path will and in that lies something deeper still. Great writing and there’s mystery ,while hoping and praying and making history.

I haven't read any of this series but I love this one!
The world is made up of characters that mesh well because they all have a past that each is involved in. Feels, so many feels in this realistic story. The cats, and Saint the huge St Bernard, add to the story. OI will need to check out the rest of this series! Warning: some topics in the book include, rape ending in a pregnancy, PTSD with a service animal, homosexuality touched on and a couple other things. Check before reading if you have triggers.

I enjoyed this book. JD and Nick have been like brothers forever. They both chose different paths in life but stayed friends. Both have PTSD from fire, and both have dysfunctional families. There is a lot going on in this story, but it all comes together nicely. Sometimes, books with multiple "stories" in them seem very choppy. I think the author did a great job with the past, present, and future stories rolling together.

I love this series for its humor and warmth! The unique characters live in a Victorian house in Texas. We learn about their quirky personalities as they experience holidays, friendships, dealing with their many animals, and even a surprise birth. The books work as stand-alones, but you're going to want to read them all!
