Fake dating the team’s grumpy catcher to advance her career wasn’t on Rose’s bingo card.
After her cheating ex is traded to another baseball team, Rose focuses on her dream of joining the broadcasting department of the Orlando Wild. But leaving her role as the social media girl proves weirdly difficult when she keeps producing one viral hit after the next.
Worse, the viral videos all feature Logan, the team’s grumpy, tatted up catcher, with Rose.
Logan’s wild catch saves Rose’s life and they go mega viral on social media. For reasons he can’t comprehend, thirsty fans everywhere start shipping them. When the team pitches the idea of turning their newfound fame into a publicity stunt, Logan’s impulse is to say absolutely the frack not—especially when he’s secretly planning to pack up his motorbike and leave town for another team.
But Rose of the big curls, the boopable nose, and the ridiculous curves that would fit perfectly in his hands, makes a plea for him to fake date her for the sake of her career, and Logan finds himself accepting. Surely nothing will go wrong…
Wild Catch is a dual POV closed door romance with mild language and plenty of heat without spice, perfect for those who enjoy their fake dating schemes with a big dose of grumpy x sunshine, found families, and no 3rd act breakups. It’s the second book in the Wild Baseball Romance series and can also be read as a standalone.
After Rose Mena's cheating ex has traded to another team she focuses solely on her job as social media manager for the Orlando Wild. When their catcher Logan Kim saves Rose from getting hit with a baseball in her face, the video goes viral and the fans think they're an item. The team wants to take advantage of that and suggests they start fake dating. Neither of them like the idea, but when Rose hears that it could help her advance to broadcasting she convinces Logan. How hard can it be?
I'm beginning to believe that baseball romance is my new obsession! I loved Wild Pitch, the first book in the series, and I love Wild Catch! I certainly don't know as much about baseball as I do hockey, but by now I'm definitely a fan. In hockey my favorite player is the goalie, and you could say that its counterpart in baseball is the catcher. I wasn't aware of how much the catcher actually impact the game, so now that position is my favorite on the baseball field!
Wild Catch has several of my favorite tropes as well: fake dating, grumpy/sunshine, found family, no 3rd act breakup and dual POV. In addition it has nice diversity and good representation of mental illness. Logan suffers from anxiety attacks - that he desperately tries to hide - and has narcissistic parents of the manipulative kind (and let's not talk about his brother!). He's afraid that it has affected him to the point of him being a bad person, and therefore doesn't deserve Rose. On her part, Rose doesn't believe Logan can find her interesting when they are so different. It's very emotional to see her, slowly but surely, get him to open up, and the chemistry between them is perfect!
I also have to mention the other players in the team. This is where the found family trope comes in. It's heartwarming to see how they are there for each other when it matters, even though they also tease and prank one another. Such friends are truly valuable!
* I received an ARC from the author and I'm giving my honest review. *
Okay baseball romance is slowly taking over my TBR and I am NOT complaining 🤭 give me ALL the baseball reccs. I absolutely adored Mari’s newest book 📕
Rose. QUEEEEEEN 👑 after catching her boyfriend cheating on her 💔 Rose swears off dating another baseball player ⚾️ But after one wild catch that saves her life 😅 she’s thrown into a fake dating scheme with the catcher 🤭
Logan. Okay talk about a GRUMP 😤 Mans got trauma ❤️🩹(read CW) and he’s cut off everyone 😔 His entire life is baseball, and now the annoying marketing manager who he has to fake date 👀 As she slowly knocks down his walls, Logan learns letting people in after years of pushing them away might be the hardest thing yet ❤️🩹
This might be one of my favorite romances I’ve read this year ❤️ The characters, the plot, the romance was all so so amazing 🤩 I went from laughing to crying to SWOONING so fast 😂 I can’t wait to read the rest of the series 📚
I know hockey has become the ultimate romance book sport, but I simply love this baseball fake-dating romcom by Mari Loyal. It's got heart, it's got humor, and it's got a lot of swoon-worthy baseball players.
Rose and Logan are lovely, from their initial attraction (and ignoring of said attraction) to their fake relationship, they are so right for each other. Rose has a rule against dating too-attractive men and against dating baseball players, and Logan is against any form of committed relationship (from deep seated issues, not just a frivolous playboy mentality), so they're really the perfect pair. As they fake their relationship, they get to know each other and cross boundaries, leaving them much closer than either had intended, and I couldn't get enough of it. And Logan's personal growth and healing from his extremely toxic (understatement of the year) family was so very good.
I also love their friends (and Rose's mom). Logan's teammates in particular are the best, because as much as he pushes them away, they continually come back to support him and push him to be better. And the letter? Just ended me with sweetness. I really need to go back and read Cade and Hope's story (I hear Logan was the helpful badguy and I'm here for that). And I'm stoked for Audrey and X's story, though I'm just a bit frustrated that I'm not sure who will end up being her man.
Thank you so much, Mari, for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. I loved this one! All opinions are my own.
CW: extremely toxic and manipulative family, frequent mild cursing
As always I like to start by THANKING the author for the opportunity to be an ARC READER.
💜Like the first book in the Wild Baseball Romance series this second one did not disappoint. PLEASE READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS 🚨🚨
💜Rose is a super strong FMC who knows what she wants. After her ex cheated on her she knows she doesn’t want to feel used again. With the typical attitude of a Latina (since she is Venezuelan). Independent, good at her Job and with enormus heart.
💜Logan is half Korean and half sweden with a rather crude childhood. He has his trauma and closes himself off from anyone to protect himself and them from him. He is a baseball mastermind and the main catcher for the Orlando Wild team.
💜Life puts these two together to fake dating and soon they will realize that there are feelings that cannot be faked. Will they be able to put their fears aside and open up each other?
💜I enjoyed it a lot I still want to see a story with Lucky as the MMC but the author is making me suffer. I always love a good Fake Dating.
💜Rose understands Logan and is there from him, to protect him and so are Logan with Rose.
5⭐️ for me. Wating for book 3 please be Lucky’ s please 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
And I thought there would be no way to top Cade and Hope’s story!?
Mari has solidified herself as one of my top favorite authors.
Logan and Rose’s story is filled with so much growth, so much trust, so much love, and of course chemistry. One of my favorite parts of Mari’s writing is the sizzling chemistry and kisses. *chef’s kiss*
I loved the way Logan opened up, and not just with Rose, he let Cade, Lucky, and Miguel in as well. There’s nothing like good friend support, especially when you’ve got a nasty family like Logan has, and I loved watching them all stand up for each other.
As with Mari’s other books, theres language, and detailed kisses, but the door is firmly closed, and the love shown isn’t just attraction deep, it’s a full heart that soothes scars and heals wounds.
Thank you so much for the ARC, I loved every word of this book!
I received an eARC from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own

When Logan saves the team’s social media girl from a foul ball, the video goes viral causing a flurry of newfound fans. Rose is trying to switch over from behind the camera to in front of the camera, and if she plays her cards right, she could become the new face of the broadcasting team. When the team suggests the two fake date, Logan surprisingly agrees— not much is in it for him, but he can’t seem to say no to Rose.

3.5⭐️ ARC Review: Baseball romances I think are at the bottom of my list for sports romance. Now, if there was specially a Savannah bananas baseball romance, baseball would be higher up on the sports romance list for me! Anyways, I had a good time reading this one. It wasn’t great, it wasn’t bad, it was good.
Rose and Logan are our MCs. Admittedly, they aren’t my favorite characters I’ve read about, but I still liked them. Logan is a brooding grump, which we love when it’s done right. He came off a bit too grumpy to me. A bit rude and dismissive. But as you get further into the story and understand him and his family background, his attitude toward relationships makes sense. Rose was an independent but soft FMC, which I enjoyed. She was super cute. I enjoyed the fake dating plot and the forced proximity, so the plot definitely worked for me.
There were just a few things that didn’t make this a full 4 star read. The language for one. There was definitely a lot more language than I was expecting. Like a lot. There are no f words, but I swear there was a curse word on every single page. Specifically during the MMC’s POV. I guess that was my biggest issue. As a said before, the MCs weren’t my favorite, I didn’t feel the chemistry between them, I think I wanted a bit more from this plot. Fake dating is a favorite trope and it just fell flat in this one.

i'm absolutely in LOVE with anything Mari Loyal writes so far and to have Logan and Rose next made me squeal with glee (Logan is a top fav after the first book you big softie maniac). every single one of his chapters from his pov especially made me choked laughing because THIS MAN and his audacity is basically a tired dad amidst his toddler team (especially chapter 8 its comedy GOLD, the last page is hilarious as heck the way he saw himself in the edit and how he described it gods give this man a literal BREAK). the intervention at the later part makes me smile remembering the previous book and the dynamics in a blink of an eye. Rose is a good match, she challenges Logan and seems to be a ruthless media girlie (AS SHE SHOULD) but baby also needs a break because she's a smile and wave girl. they do fit in that dynamic case.
If logan is the driving factor in terms of the book's humor and personality, Rose is definitely the factor that keeps the whole thing running, the push factor as you will. *also Logan's addiction to food is quite endearing (for the time being it's cute because he's like a bloodhound). the chapter when he mentions booping her nose is also super cute. but it's the moment after when he literally turns into a merlion that makes a mean meme picture (oh to have that irl to see would be GOLD as merch)
OH AT THE PART WHERE CADE SAYS THE TITLE AND YAY! Logan is a softie grump and I'll swear by it (and probably a secret romantic based on his non denial in romance books) **also prediction confirmed, all the men in the universe are simps for thighs and am LIVING for em. every single character is so well done in this world building and I'm impatiently waiting for EACH AND EVERY guy (including the new character Miguel hopefully!) also Beau? the truest MVP tanking the ENTIRE book from the sides you sly dog- man is a smart cookie and the best kind of leader (manipulation on POINT)
The little jealousy arc is also a nice touch too, man deserve the sunshine girl and the way he describes internally how his face probably looks under the helmet is downright adorable AWW. his family is also such assholes like- his brother is especially a menace and should be put on a permanent time out in JAIL. another stellar moment, when the boys opt out of being murdered and turns into wing men once again for "dear old dad" in order to resolve their parents bickering.
also the arc in which they confess but she's waiting for him to man up and face his fears, its chef's kiss PERFECTION. their characteristics give them a complexity that is in depth and most importantly, reltatably HUMANE. because by reading this entire thing from both their povs, you're getting the full scope and story with no sides or biases. this found family series is my favourite and the later chapters definitely confirmed it. the boys pitching in also gives it a classic outlook in writing the letter to the point its painfully a sweet balm after the earlier chaos. the love letter made me sob because it's just so.. Logan. also their happily ever after is the best owned HANDS DOWN <3 and the notes after is sweet as heck because Logan upgraded from dad to clown dad (you'll get it if you read the end so GOGOGO)
just finished reading and honestly DAMM MS LOYAL YOU'VE CONVERTED ME TO BASEBALL LIKE >:0 I CAN'T WAIT TO READ THE REST!! THANK YOU FOR THE E ARC!!
Book: Wild Catch Author: Mari Loyal Rating: 4/5 stars
Wild Catch is the first sports-themed romance novel that I have read in a little while - and I am so glad I had the opportunity to do so! I was given the wonderful opportunity by Mari Loyal, who is the author of this cute story, to read an advanced eARC copy. I found myself learning more about baseball than I thought I would while reading the book. I plan on expanding my horizons to read more sports romances!
The FMC Rose’s cheating ex is traded to another baseball team, so she decides it’s time to focus on herself and her dream of becoming part of the Orlando Wild’s broadcasting department. This turns out to be more difficult than she expected when the content she is creating keeps bringing in more views than ever before, and one video in particular goes viral. The one video that struck it big? The video of the team’s grumpy catcher, Logan, saving her from getting hit in the head by a baseball. Now everyone online is shipping them together. The team decides to pitch the idea to Rose and Logan that maybe they should play along with what the fans think - what could possibly go wrong?
The story that ensues after they decide to play into the shipping rumours makes for a fake dating scenario that includes a grumpy/sunshine duo that I was rooting for while reading. I thought that both Rose and Logan were well-written characters who I enjoyed reading about.
The book also had a diverse cast of characters. It touched on themes of a toxic family environment, anxiety, and how love can heal and help. Be sure to also check trigger warnings, and all romance is closed door. It was overall a very emotionally charged story that I thought Mari wrote very well. It was much more than just a light sports book.
Wild Catch is actually the second book in Mari Loyal’s Wild Baseball Romance series - and I have added book #1 to my TBR! Thank you again to Mari Loyal for giving me the opportunity to read an eARC of Wild Catch.
📚ARC Review – Wild Catch by Mari Loyal📚 🗓️Releasing May 22🗓️ •Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
✨About the characters: Rose: She’s brave and unapologetically herself. She doesn’t back down. What really stood out to me was her loyalty. She’s patient, grounded, and always shows up for the people she cares about, especially Logan. Through all the ups and downs, she remains steady and compassionate. Her strength it’s in her ability to love deeply, stand by someone through their healing. Rose is a quiet force, and I loved every second of her journey.
Logan: Grumpy? Definitely. Guarded? Absolutely. But underneath that tough shell is someone genuine and deeply caring. Logan’s protectiveness comes from his heavy past and the weight he carries on his shoulders—especially when it comes to his family. We see his growth: from pushing people away to learning how to let Rose (and even some teammates) in. Watching him slowly unravel and finding peace was beautiful.
✨My thoughts: While most of the books I pick up tend to have some spice, I’m always amazed by how much I enjoy a well-done closed-door romance—and Wild Catch definitely didn’t disappoint. This story is heartfelt and emotionally rich, focusing on growth, healing, trust, and the kind of love that builds slowly but surely.
What I especially adored was the way it highlights found family and deep friendships—reminding us that the people who choose to stay can be just as meaningful as those we’re born to. Rose and Logan’s relationship was filled with soft, intimate moments that felt real and tender. It’s the kind of slow-burn love that sticks with you.
Wild Catch is the second book in the Wild Baseball Romance series. While you'll see characters from the previous book, this could definitely be enjoyed as a standalone as well.
Not to be punny, but... Mari Loyal absolutely knocked it out of the park with this one! Logan truly was a perfect grump... but not without good reason. His family dynamics added so much depth and emotion to the story... you couldn't help but feel for all that he has been through. And when you put him and Rose together!? Oh, my goodness, the chemistry! There was definitely a lot of physical attraction, yes, but there was also a fantastic emotional connection as well. I couldn't get enough of the two of them together. And if you love a protective MMC, this one will definitely fit that bill too. The team dynamics added so much to this story too... their antics added a lot of humor and lightness which helped balance out some of those more serious subject matters. And seeing Logan open up not just with Rose, but with the team too? I loved it. If you love sports romance that brings the heat, but without the spice, this is definitely one to add to your TBR.
Wild Catch is a closed-door romance but does have implied intimacy and doesn't shy away from physical attraction or innuendo, so while nothing happens on the pages, it might be a little more than some closed-door readers are comfortable with. There is also quite a bit of minor language throughout.
**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.

I loved jumping straight back into the Wild Series, baseball may be my new favourite trope, besides grumpy x sunshine (which is also featured in this book). I love how real the writing is and how the dual POVs give the reader a look into each characters personality. Loyal is quickly becoming one of my automatic buy and automatic recommend authors. I cannot wait to see what the next book brings.
I am in my sports romance era and I am here for it! I didn’t know it, but Rose and Logan’s story was absolutely what I needed!
Rose Mena is on thin ice with her bosses after a social media stunt for the Orlando Wild baseball team went a little sideways. Add on dealing with the fallout of her cheaterface (secret) ex-boyfriend, and she is on the struggle bus. Enter Logan Kim. Grumpy, quiet catcher for the Wild with a bunch of secrets of his own. When a video of the two of them goes viral, schemes are hatched, plans are laid, and Rose and Logan find themselves in a fake relationship of their bosses’ creation. Now all they have to do is keep their animosity in play and real feelings on the bench.
Rose and Logan both have such DEEP scars. I appreciated how they worked through them both individually and together. I have mixed feelings about slow burn, but this one was AMAZING! Just the right amount of tension and angst to keep it interesting and feel realistic. I really enjoyed all the banter between teammates, too. The Wild team is a hoot!
This is a fake dating, grumpy sunshine baseball romance with plenty of sizzle! I can’t wait to see which Wild player falls in love next!
Note: Although closed-door, there are a few descriptive makeout scenes, some innuendo, and moderate swearing - no f-bombs but plenty of other language. They’re professional athletes and talk like stereotypical professional athletes on and off the field.
Synopsis: The internet believes that Logan, the team’s catcher and Rose, the team’s social media girl, are dating. They aren’t, but Rosy thinks that a fake relationship could be beneficial.
Includes: ✨Grumpy x Sunshine ✨Fake Dating ✨Coworkers ✨Baseball Player ✨Biker Hero ✨Found Family ✨Slow Burn

My Opinion: Mari knocks out of the park once again (yes, I know a baseball pun, and I’m not afraid to use it lol). It took me a while to get engaged with the romance because the story is very focused on the character growth, but the way the story developed made me care deeply about the characters, and the slow burn kept me on the edge of my seat. Logan is a precious and amazing hero, and all I wanted to do was hug him and comfort him. Rose is a great sunshine contrast and I love how confident she is. And don’t get me wrong, it is a book focused on the character growth, but the tension and chemistry were ON! Mari has a special gift for writing amazingly hot and attractive people that don’t shy away their feelings, and the kissing scenes are always top tier. I can't wait for the next book in the series.
*I received a free review copy of this book from the author. I was not required to leave a positive review. All opinions are my own.*
“Wild Catch” by Mari Loyal is the second book in the "Wild Baseball Romance" series. The book can be read as a standalone.
I received a digital copy of the book from the author. Opinions from this review are completely my own.
Rose is working fore the Orlando Wild baseball team, where is Logan is one of the players.
What you can expect: - fake dating - slow burn - grumpy/sunshine characters - found family - closed door romance (with tension) - dual POV - he falls harder
After her ex cheated on her and was traded to another team, Rose is focusing on her work as she tries to join the broadcasting department of the team. The viral videos she takes are mostly with Logan, the grumpy catcher. So the team asks them to fake a relationship to use the new found fame.
The story is well written and has also some serious situations discussed. Logan's backstory and his relationship with his parents is emotional. Rose is so sweet and helped Logan be more vulnerable by opening up to her and the team about his past. I also liked Logan's protective side and the chemistry between them. There is also a nice character growth and healing.
Even this is overall a sweet romance, be aware of some content warnings - cheating, emotional abusive parents and depiction of a panic attack.
Rose is a strong and passionate FMC who swears off hot shot ball players after feeling used in a past relationship. Logan is the talented and broody catcher for the Orlando Wild baseball team, and he carefully masks his traumatic past by not getting close to anyone. Soon, a wild catch forces them together and real and fake feelings start to blur.
This story touches on some heavy topics, but the characters in the story gradually learn the best ways to show up for each other. I enjoyed watching Logan and Rose's relationship develop, but I especially loved the sense of camaraderie that can be easily felt from the team and friends.
With each of these books, I'm gaining a greater appreciation for the technicality involved in the game of baseball. Dare I say, I may even be interested in watching a game now!? This is a sweet story filled with fake dating, big feelings, found family, and plenty of baseball player shenanigans!
Wild Catch can be read as a standalone, but is best enjoyed after reading Wild Pitch.
Rose and Logan are two people who have to fight to be together—and fight, they do. This story is packed with witty banter, tough circumstances, real-life struggles, and off-the-charts chemistry that all come together in such a satisfying way.
Logan is solid, protective, and knows when to let Rose take the lead. He’s had a rough upbringing and a family dynamic no one would envy—but he doesn’t realize that his efforts to rise above it all are actually working. Rose, having been burned by a baseball player before, is understandably hesitant, but she can’t help falling for her “fake boyfriend.” She loves fiercely, and watching her try to help Logan see the good in himself while still guarding her own heart was so powerful.
I loved how they saw the best in each other and were patient as they worked through their feelings. Their journey felt real, raw, and incredibly rewarding.
If you’re looking for a swoony, heartfelt, closed door read with real emotion, a protective (but soft hearted) hero, a sweet, yet strong heroine, and just the right amount of spice-free sizzle (descriptive makeouts, mild language), this one’s for you!
Mari Loyal has knocked it out of the park! (Pun intended hehehe) Rose and Logan were absolutely fabulous, and I am so in love with them, both individually and as a couple. Mari is a master of writing high tension in closed-door romance, and this book was a work of art. Logan is such a gentle soul, and I spent pretty much the whole book wanting to give him a comforting hug. The way that Rose and Logan's friendship and relationship developed and grew throughout the book was beautifully written, and damn this slow burn kept me hooked from the start. Also, the interactions between Logan and his teammates gave me warm and fuzzies, the found family vibes in this book, and honestly, this series in general, is just amazing!
I cannot thank Mari and her team enough for the arc of this book!! It releases on May 22nd (although the paperback is live now 👀), and I highly recommend this goes to the top of your tbr if you are a fan of fake-dating, slow burn, she falls first but he falls harder, closed-door sports romance 💜💜
Mari Loyal is one of my favorite sports romance writers and I have been loving her baseball series so far! You don't see a lot of baseball books out there and this is a perfect, closed door option!
While it is closed door, there is no shortage of heat! The tension and yearning, along with scorching kisses, are more than enough to feel that chemistry.
I loved the depth of both Logan and Rose's back stories. It helped create a meaningful personal connection between them. Logan was deliciously grumpy and protective and Rose was fierce and loyal. They fit perfectly together!
As always, the humor was top notch! It was so much fun to read. The players on the team are hilarious.
I highly recommend this one!!!
Here's a few other things to look forward to: -Slow burn -Fake dating -Grumpy x sunshine -Revenge on ex -Found family -He falls harder -Biker x backpack
Thank you so much Mari for the opportunity to read and review early ❤️
Time to jump in another sporty rom-com with Wild Catch! I loved getting to know Rose and Logan in this story - especially Logan as he was very hard to read in Wild Pitch and I love a good grump. His childhood was pretty intense and I feel like the author handled his traumas well (see below for content warnings.) I really liked how his and Rose's relationship progressed from co-workers with mutual friends to fake dating to more - I feel like fake dating as a trope can be a little cheesy sometimes and not super believable, but honestly I love it anyway! There were a few laugh out loud moments mixed in with some more emotional times so be prepared to experience it all.
I think my absolute favorite thing about both this book and the previous one though has been the found family aspect of the ball players. I love their bantering and teasing and how they have each other's backs even when it's unexpected or not asked for (looking at you, Logan!) Their friendships are just so deep and pure and I love it.
While this is the second in the series, it could be read as a stand alone and out of order, but there are a lot of recurring characters and it might spoil book 1 a bit. . . . . . . . Content Warnings: childhood trauma, childhood abuse, mental health
After learning that her ex was cheating on her, Rose swears off dating. But then a fly ball causes her to go viral and everyone assumes the man who caught the ball is dating her. Can Rose and Logan leverage this moment to achieve their career goals: her to end up in front of the camera and him to land with a new team?

You know that viral clip where the baseball player stops a rogue ball with his bare hand, saving the reporter interviewing him? Take that and make it a rom-com and you've got Wild Catch. I've always had a thing for catchers and Logan Kim just might be my favorite fictional one. A grumpy, slightly damaged, tattooed, motorcycle riding man with a secretly big heart? Yes please! Mari made us wait a long time for their first kiss, but it was totally worth it. I am loving this series and waiting for Lucky's book.
I want to thank Mari Loyal, author and Goodreads First Reads Giveaway for the eBook Kindle copy of Wild Catch ~ Wild Baseball Romance ~ Book 2 that I won in the Giveaway.
Rose works in the public relations department of the Orland Wild Baseball team. When Wild Catch. starts her secret boyfriend breaks up with her and he is traded to another team, oh yeah, he has been cheating on her for awhile. Logan the grouchy catcher finds out about her ex; then he rescues her twice and her boss wants her to start a fake relationship with Logan.
Lots of humor, pranks and she gets to know Logan and finds him a gentleman, protective and a nice guy, plus he is hot too.
The story goes up and down with him revealing his horrible family, and his lack of self worth. The end is a revelation and full of support of the team and Rose as she uses her sassy ways to get what she wants ~ Logan and a happy ending (or start of a lifetime together).
I loved the tenderness, angst, chemistry, connection and the emotional depth of both Logan and Rose as the MCs. Logan is deliciously grumpy and protective while Rose is fierce and loyal. They fit perfectly together and their love story was genuine perfection. 👌🏻
The humor and banter were top notch! I loved the side characters and the players on the team were LOL hilarious!
I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys…

Holy guacamole, how did Mari Loyal top Hope & Cade's story? Wild Pitch was a five-star read for me, and Wild Catch is another!!
Rose and Logan are people who don't realize how much they need each other or how much they see each other. I don't mean see with their eyes. Rather, see who they are beneath the surface. I read this in two sittings because it was just that dang good. Seeing characters let their walls down is one of my favorite things, and Logan had a lot of them. Rose helped him brick by brick, but so did his teammates, which is something else I love about this series.
I'm already wildly on board for the next home run Mari Loyal will write.
Wild Catch was an enjoyable read. This baseball romance is the sequel to Wild Pitch so it’s recommended to read that one first. The main characters in this book are Rosalina (Rose) Mena and Logan Kim. Throughout the book, I loved Rose’s dedication to her job and furthering her career and Logan’s focus on making his team the best it can be. I appreciated the characters, especially Logan, overcoming personal traumas to try and be better for the person they love and Logan exploring his childhood and how it shaped him. Although this was a deep topic for the characters, it didn’t elicit any real emotion in me as a reader. If anyone is in the mood for a cute sports romance and a fake dating trope, I’ll direct them to this series, however I probably won’t reread.
