Corrupt Vows
“I am dirty. Dirtier than a piccola principessa like you could ever handle, so don’t touch me unless you’re ready to get filthy. Capisci, little girl?”
Serenity Vivaldi
I’ve hit an all-time low, secretly lusting after my sister’s soon-to-be fiancé. Nico Russo, the most ruthless and powerful mafia don in New York City, is too cold, dangerous, and violent for my tastes, but that doesn’t stop my body from heating every time he glares at me.
He's made it perfectly clear he hates me, so when he agrees to marry me instead of my sister, there can only be one reason he accepts.
The wickedly handsome, sinfully tattooed kingpin wants to hurt me. Break me. Own me.
Nico Russo
As the second daughter of Matteo Vivaldi, the only man in NYC whose power rivals mine, Serenity Vivaldi grew from a shy little girl hiding behind her books to a stunning, carnal temptation, but she’s still frustratingly off limits.
Until tragedy strikes her sister and her parents offer me Serenity’s hand in marriage as a replacement. I snatch her up, ready to slake my lust for the curvy little mafia princess, but she steals my hardened heart and becomes my biggest weakness.
Now that Serenity is mine, no one will ever hurt her again. Not her abusive parents, the gangs trespassing on my turf, or the mastermind behind an even bigger, deadlier game.
Serenity Vivaldi is mine, and if I have to burn down the entire city to protect her, I will.
Corrupt Vows (Vicious Mafia Kings Book 1) is a super spicy age gap dark mafia arranged marriage romance with a jealous/possessive hero, a strong, competent female lead, and a deliciously dirty battle of wills.
This story is intended for 18+ readers and includes mature content such as graphic violence, profanity, pregnancy, and other adult themes.
Can be read as a standalone. HEA guaranteed.

Corrupt Vows was a good start to the Vicious Mafia Kings series.
I enjoyed getting to know the characters, and the world they live in.
The reason Serenity is chosen instead of her older sister Camilla to marry Nico was hard to witness.
Their parents are the worst, and don’t give a damn about them…..they simply use them to gain power.
The abuse they suffered was over the moment Nico witnessed it,though…..
He may be a ruthless mob boss,he doesn’t allow women, especially the ones he cares about,to go through something like that.
And he’s véry protective….has had practice ever since losing his mother, and nearly his sister,in a car accident.
Nico may have agreed to marry Camilla, but he doesn’t object to marry Serenity after Camilla’s assaulted and badly injured…..
And he doesn’t wait until the marriage to get her out of her parents house.
When Serenity returns home to get her belongings, she finds Camilla in a bad state having attempted suicide, and she makes sure Camilla gets the help she needs.
In the meantime, feelings grow, and Serenity starts to adapt to the new situation.
She adores Nico’s little sister Natalie, and Nico’s glad they get along so well.
There is however one problem…..there’s an unknown enemy targetting his family.
And his worries that he can’t keep Serenity and Natalie safe come true when Serenity is taken….
Serenity may have started out as a meek little girl, cowering to her parents abuse, but she grew.
Nico showed her she could stand up for herself without repercussions.
And he may have called her his Principessa, she grew into the queen she was meant to be.
She demanded he share his burdens with her,she kept her head when she was taken.
Nico may have tried to shelter her from his worries, from his nightmares, and that was sweet of him.
He showed a soft side, even when he got dirty with her.
But when she clearly enjoyed what he did,all bets were off…..she was made for him,and he wasn’t ever going to let her go!
As i said,a good start to the series, and even though it left me with a couple of questions,i still enjoyed Corrupt Vows.
Looking forward to hearing Natalie and Camilla’s story.

Wow! Just wow! V.T. Bonds has outdone herself with "Corrupt Vows," the first book in her new "Vicious Mafia Kings" series. The preface immediately piqued my interest; I was hooked by the end of the first paragraph. If you have any trigger warnings, be aware that this storyline checks a lot of boxes in a dark romance.
Nico Russo has been contracted to marry Camille Vivaldi, as both are the eldest of powerful mafia families. However, before the announcement can be made, circumstances change, and Nico is offered Serenity, Camille's younger sister, as an alternative. This arrangement suits Nico perfectly, as he has secretly craved Serenity for some time, but being the heir to the Russo family, he honors his family commitments before himself.
The plot turns dark as past issues continue to haunt Nicco all the while new drama unfolds. The growth of both Nico and Serenity is captivating. Nico, the most feared kingpin in New York, allows his heart to become involved, while Serenity finds the security she has always needed and grows into a woman who learns to command her strength.
I am eagerly anticipating answers within the next books of the series regarding which family is vying for the Russo territory, as well as both Camille's and Natalie's stories. I can't say it enough, this is a five-star read!

4.5 Viciously Delicious Stars!
A age gap, smutty mafia arranged marriage romance. Nico finally gets his girl Serenity and there’s nothing that will stand in his way of protecting her and making her his.
I loved this. I loved the smut. I loved the action. I loved the characters.

376 pagini (Vicious Mafia Kings, #1)
❤️🔥Posibile spoilere!

A fast paced spicy read that has all the mafia trope clichés you can wish for (if you love a dark mafia romance). This was a perfect read to scratch my mafia romance itch, after coming out of a darker read and needing a palate cleanser. While the plot was thin, it still had enough to keep things interesting and to make you like (and hate some of) the characters. I'm definitely interested in reading the other books in this series.

Corrupt Vows really had the potential to be a good Mafia book but unfortunately it was just meh in my opinion. The plot is not really anything new, Cora Reilly has a book similar to this and I saw other reviews mentioning another book that this one seems to be a copy of but I continued on because mafia is one of my favorite genres. I really liked Nico and how dedicated he was to Serenity but I wanted more background of their childhoods and why he was so obsessed with her. The blurb says he’s her childhood crush as well but we don’t get any of that mentioned in the story. Nico was originally supposed to marry Serenity’s sister Camilla, but we get the barest details of what happened to her that made her not be an option anymore. We get just enough to draw our own conclusions but it felt like a big part of the story was missing. I had to double check that Camilla’s book wasn’t the first in the series as I felt like we were just thrown into the middle of an already developed plot line. The villain storyline wasn’t developed enough either and it didn’t have a conclusion as he just disappears. The ending felt a bit rushed and the epilogue was okay but not really fulfilling. It wasn’t a bad story by any means, it just needed to be more fully fleshed out.

DNF @ 60%
It was no masterpiece before the 60 per cent mark but whatever happened at that point could not convince me to finish this and I am the type of person who will sit through most things.
The author had an idea. A cliche one that we have seen many times but the execution was horrible and then it somehow got worse towards the end. Sorry. I am going to tap out. I don’t even feel bad because at least I got it free on Amazon. A good deal if you ask me.

I really enjoyed Corrupt Vows, it was well written, with strong characters and storyline, dark, spicy, with twists, drama and secrets. Nico is a dangerous, grumpy alpha-hole mafia Don who has a slice of good fortune when his arranged marriage is changed from the older sister to Serenity, the younger sister, who he has had a thing for (though you wouldn't know that from the way he had treated her to date).
Serenity is a gentle, well raised mafia woman, she thought as the younger daughter, she knew how her life would turn out, with a likely arranged marriage to a safer, more lowly ranked mafia man that she had a friendship with, however suddenly she finds herself engaged to the ruthless Nico and needing to deal with his Alpha, protective, overpowering, behavior.
Looking forward to more in this series.

Another foray into mafia romance for me. Off we go.
✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧
Plot
This story follows Serenity, the younger sister in the Vivaldi family who has the misfortune of becoming engaged to Nico Russo, local mafia boss, after something happens to her older sister.
The plot carries along at a pretty brisk pace, with the nuptials rushed along and the pair moving onto the *ahem* honeymoon phase of things.
There isn't a huge amount of character development here, but did we need it? Not really.
Characters
FMC
Serenity is fine as an FMC, albeit a bit limp at times.
MMC
I actually really liked Nico - I know he's a big bad mafia guy, but he genuinely cares for Serenity and I especially liked how he dealt with her parents towards the end.
The Rest
Meh.
The Chemistry
Their chemistry is okay, although I always feel the story suffers a little when the FMC is so inexperienced.
The Good
I always love a 'touch her and die' element in these kind of stories, and this did it well.
The Bad
Serenity is main downside of this story for me - I didn't care about her college life and she came across as a bit of a an idiot.
We also never found out what happened to her sister. Not even a hint.
The Ugly
No uglies.
The Wrap Up
Sppiccyyyy

I absolutely loved this story. Characters Serenity and Nico were omg amazing. Read this book in one day. Storyline was everything. Now I’m not a mafia romance book type of person but this one peeked my interest. So happy I read it. I absolutely loved it. I cannot wait for book 2. Plus I can’t wait to read more about Camilla hopefully in a future book. Definitely recommend.

This was a yummy mafia story. The spice was so good! I love watching tough ass men get all gooey for their love interest. I def still have some questions though. Primarily regarding the details of what happened to her sister. I’m definitely headed to the next one to find out.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy and am voluntarily reviewing it. This book is everything readers will want in a new mafia series. Nico Russo will have readers panting for more. That man is sexy. I would love to hear the audio of this book. I can understand why Serenity Vivaldi had a crush on him. Nico was promised a the oldest Vivaldi daughter, Camilla. Camilla was in an accident and Serenity was forced to take her place. What the family did not know is that this change was not a hardship for either of them. Nico always wanted Serenity while she was feeling bad about wanting her sister's man. Everything worked out in the end.
This is your typical mafia story with a twist. The couple starts off liking each other. Nico is more closed off and vows not to let Serenity in. The loss of his mother created a callous on his heart and he is not willing to go through that pain again. Thinking that it was your fault will stop you from getting too close to anyone. Serenity was able to get under Nico’s skin and he vowed to protect her. Nico cares so much but fought his feelings for Serenity. That all went out of the door when Serenity’s life was threatened. Nico, the mafia king, has finally found his queen.

The story pulled me in, I was definitely intrigued from page one but I feel it could have been better with just a few changes. I loved the characters, the MC was hot. The FMC was just the right amount of needy but had a spine when necessary. Their chemistry was fierce, but it’s advertised as an enemy to lovers and they weren’t really enemies. The FMC thought the MC hated her, but he didn’t, it was a misunderstanding. Once she realized he didn’t hate her, they were fine with each other. I was really looking forward to the banter an enemies to lovers story brings.
The characters themselves were well written, I would have liked to have seen them more on their own before they were forced together. That way I could have formed some kind of connection to them. I also felt like some of the conversations were forced, like they were saying it but like it was a script. It wasn’t every conversation only some of them. I feel that could have been fixed if I had known the characters more.
I think my biggest complaint is that the spicy scenes felt like an afterthought, they were there, they were hot, but I just wanted more, but who doesn’t want more spice. I did read the whole book and I would recommend it, but I’m undecided if I’ll read more by this author. If another one of her books catches my eye, I’ll probably give her one more chance.

Checklist Tropes with Zero Soul
I am actually dizzy. I feel like I just ran a marathon through a blender. I’ve read some questionable pacing in my time, but Corrupt Vows takes the prize for the most unrealistic, "blink-and-you’ll-miss-the-entire-plot" timeline I’ve ever suffered through.
Can we talk about this "arranged marriage" for a second? Because calling it a marriage is a reach.
The Whiplash Timeline from Hell:
• Week 1: She finds out she’s getting married. She’s rightfully annoyed.
• Week 2: She’s still pissed. Okay, I’m with her. Stay strong, girl.
• Week 3: BOOM. Total personality transplant. Suddenly, she’s clinging to him like a stage-five clinger and screaming "I love you" into the void. Since when? Based on what? They’ve known each other as adults for twenty minutes!
• Week 4: She’s already pregnant, kidnapped, and acting like she can’t function without his hand on her neck.
I’m sorry, but insta-love and insta-lust are the absolute death of a dark romance. There is zero tension when the FMC folds like a cheap lawn chair in seven days flat. One minute she’s supposed to be this defiant woman, and the next she’s a helpless, clingy mess who seems to have forgotten she has a backbone.
The plot didn’t develop; If you like your "romance" with a side of logic and actual character growth, skip this.

This is the first book in the Vicious Mafia Kings’ series and it is off to a wonderful start.
This is Nico and Serenity’s story with Nico being older. I say, who does not like an older man.
Let’s describe Nico, he is a vicious mafia kingpin who has no mercy for those who threatened his family. However, can also make you swoon at any time.
Then there is Serenity, who has not had a good childhood, but still has a kind hart and is learning to stand on her own two feet. When circumstances bring them together, they start to find out that they both may be the cure to make each other whole again.
In conclusion, the storyline was great and definitely hot chemistry. Also, HEA guaranteed.
I have received this as an ARC and this is my honest review!

Wanted something very easy to read go get out of a reading slump. Well.. This book really motivates me to go read something good again because this was so so so so bad. It was free. But still. It was so bad. Almost smut only and everything annoyed me about it. Swiped through most pages.

Serenity always believed she had the luxury of choice when it came to marriage. As the second daughter, the weight of forging family alliances fell squarely on her elder sister, Camilla. But in a cruel twist of fate, one devastating car accident changes everything. Suddenly, Serenity finds herself offered as a replacement bride to Nico Russo—the most ruthless and feared don in New York City. From their very first meeting, the chemistry between Nico and Serenity is electric, practically leaping off the page. Nico is domineering, possessive, and unapologetically intense, but beneath his sharp edges lies a man whose actions speak louder than words. The way he cares for Serenity, especially in their most intimate moments, reveals a tenderness that caught me completely off guard. I couldn’t help but swoon when he pampered her after their first night together, holding her close until sleep claimed her, even though he couldn’t stay through the night. It’s these small, thoughtful gestures that made their relationship feel achingly real. As Nico begins to uncover the truth about Serenity’s troubled life within the cold and calculating Vivaldi household, his protective instincts take over, and their bond deepens in unexpected ways. I also adored the warmth and vibrancy of Nico’s family, particularly his sister Natalie. Despite her own painful past, Natalie’s upbeat spirit and quick wit were a breath of fresh air. Her playful jabs at Nico and the sisterly bond she formed with Serenity were highlights of the story. In contrast, Serenity’s own family is a chilling reminder of the life she’s left behind, making Nico’s devotion all the more poignant. And while this story brims with romance, it’s also packed with high-octane action. A mysterious rival is making bold moves to encroach on Nico’s territory, giving readers a front-row seat to the darker, more dangerous side of the mafia world. Nico’s ruthlessness is on full display here, but it’s the threat to Serenity that truly tests his limits. His love for her becomes his driving force, and his willingness to burn the world down to keep her safe left me breathless. This captivating tale has it all: sizzling chemistry, compelling characters, heart-stopping danger, and a swoon-worthy romance. Prepare to fall hard for Nico and Serenity’s unforgettable story.

I’m a stickler for character details and descriptions asap; preferably right out of the gate. It helps me connect to the characters. I mean, how can you connect if there’s no visual? So when we’re told that Serenity is 25 and Nico is eight years older, that would put him at 33, right? But then we read that his little sister is 20 and he’s 12 years older, that puts him at 32. All right, I can live with that minor discrepancy. But then in chapter 4, the author tells us Nico is in his LATE 30s. So now what little visual I’ve garnered is obscured and I’m losing any connection I already gained. Instead of following the plot/foundation/backstories that this author is laying down, now I’m sitting here trying to figure out “how old is Nico”? I’m losing interest because of these errors. Give me descriptions and stick to it. It’s not too much to ask. The long and short of it is, Nick Russo is a tough and feared mafia boss who feels losing his heart to his fiancé will make him weak and unprotected. Nevertheless, he’s a goner. In less than a day, Serenity, his fiancé, has stolen his heart and filled it with a longing he’s never allowed himself to feel before. Allowing this to happen has made him desperate to protect her even more. I really liked this story and it had some outstanding action scenes. But why so rushed? Why so many unanswered questions? For instance; was Serenity‘s older sister, Camilla‘s car accident, an attempt on her life or was it a legitimate accident? We’re never told. And why couldn’t Camilla marry? I have my suspicions, but again, we’re never told. And when Nico and Serenity announced their engagement, why the suspicious, ugly looks from her uncle? What was up with that? We’re never told. And after Serenity is attacked and her attacker is beaten up within an inch of his life, how does he escape? There were guards surrounding him yet he escapes! Are they that inept? And when Serenity is kidnapped and her attacker is shot in the chest, how does he escape when not only it sounds like the wound is fatal but he’s outnumbered? And why couldn’t Nico tell Serenity the reason he’s unable to sleep the night with her? What was the big deal? So he has nightmares..so what! There were just too many loose threads in this story and the inconclusive, unsatisfactory abrupt ending didn’t help.

I loved Nico. He has such a filthy mouth and he's obsessed with Serenity. He was so possessive and protective of her and all the sweet little things he did for her. I just fell in love with this man. This man marks her so all the men know she’s his. 😈

When a man does aftercare, I just melt. You just can’t beat the 😻 up and bounce. He wipes her down and gives her a shower, where he, yes, ladies, shampoos, and conditions her hair, washes her body, carries her out of the shower, wraps her in a towel, and carries her to bed, where he puts lotion on her and cuddles with her!! Omg, swoon. I fell in love at that moment.
This man can do no wrong.
