A heartfelt thank you to @authorwilllayne for the #gifted e-book!

This remarkable installment marks the thrilling conclusion to the Silver Lies series.

We pick up right where Book 2 left off, with Ash leaving a wounded Kane behind as she ventures North alongside her fierce protector, Nova, a loyal wolf. Ash’s mission is clear: reach Will and then return to rescue Kane. Together with the rebels, they will fight to liberate Kane and the blondes in Hope.

This book completely captivated me. I was enthralled by the shifting perspectives of Ash, Kane, and Gabe, whose fates have been intertwined throughout the series. The tension escalates as Ash struggles to navigate her way back to Kane, and the psychological depth of Kane's ordeal resonated deeply—I found myself moved to tears for him. The author’s lyrical and vivid descriptions painted the settings in my mind as though I were living them myself. The suspense of Ash’s daring rescue attempt and their strategic plan to confront the malevolent forces at play kept me on the edge of my seat.

For fans of dystopian fiction brimming with suspense, love, and redemption, this book and the entire series are essential reads. Mark your calendars for its release on March 27, 2025—you won’t want to miss it!

Platinum Truths, the final book in the Silver Lies trilogy by indie author Willa Layne, was one I was both terrified to read and dying to dive into. As much as I wanted to know how it would all end, I couldn’t help but feel nervous about where things would land.

But honestly? I shouldn’t have worried.

Platinum Truths cements Ash’s
transformation from survivor to full-on badass—not just in battle, but in spirit. And more than that, it’s filled with messages that feel more important now than ever.

It’s a story about breaking free—from your past, from the prejudices you’re raised with, and from the fear that you’re stuck as the person you’ve been made into. It’s about trauma and the scars it leaves, but also about not letting those scars define you. Above all, it’s about thinking for yourself and questioning what you know to find your truth.

Change is core theme. It doesn’t just ask whether people can change—it challenges us to let go of the weight of our pasts long enough to see it when they do. With this character in particular, I was super skeptical, but that’s what made their story arc so powerful.

And the action! By now, I thought I’d be used to the edge-of-your-seat moments, but nope. I was white-knuckling the pages again and again. Add in the super emotional scenes, and this book gives you all the feels.

Honestly, this book wrecked me in the best way. It was a brutal, emotional, and deeply satisfying conclusion that I’ll be thinking about for days. If you’ve been following this series, you won’t be disappointed.

A huge thank you to Willa Layne for letting me be an ARC reader for this entire series! You’re amazing and I can’t wait to see what you do next!

Immediately pulls you into the story with exhilarating action scenes that leave your pulse racing as Ash’s found family helps her fight for the Hope they believe still exists. In those final, gut-wrenching moments, the ultimate sacrifice is made—a profound act of love and courage that pierces your heart and brings tears to your eyes.

Not just another YA Dystopian; it is a journey that has carved out a cherished place on my bookshelf.

Are you ready for a little bit of a rant review? 😬

There was a lot of build up and momentum going from the first two books in this series and I was excited to see what was going to happen. I LOVED Golden Secrets, okay? Unfortunately I feel like this final book lost a bit of steam and I have many, many thoughts. But I also still enjoyed it? At least until the end when everything really went off the rails and spiraled out of control. Then I wanted to throw my kindle across the room. 😅

First, let’s talk about the romance. I love a good I-can’t-live-without-you type relationship, but this pushed way into obsessive territory and made the characters act and say things that I was not a fan of. There were even some kind of suicidal moments that I didn’t think were handled well. I’m so sad that I went from absolutely swooning over this couple to being so annoyed and frustrated with them.

Like I said, things started really getting weird in the last several chapters of the book. There were reveals that came out of left field and made absolutely no sense at all. I still don’t even really know what happened to be honest and everything resolved way too easily. It felt like a bunch of things were made up at the end to give them the means to win the war and it was pretty anticlimactic and strange.

Overall, I truly did enjoy reading this series, but I feel like those last few chapters especially just made me mad and put a sour taste in my mouth for the series. I HATE when this happens. 😭 So do I recommend it? Maybe? I mean, you’ll probably have a great time and maybe you won’t be as bugged by these things as I was? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Ugh. I’m still mad.

High Stakes, Deep Emotions—But I Needed More

I absolutely devoured the first two books in this series, finishing each in less than 24 hours. The pacing, emotions, surprises, and character arcs kept me hooked, and I was eagerly anticipating Platinum Truths. While I still enjoyed this final installment, it didn’t quite live up to my expectations.

The story remained fast-paced, and I was deeply invested in Ash’s and the Rebels’ journey—wondering how they would triumph over the war and the king to save the Blondes. The fates of Kane and Gabe also kept me turning pages, and there were some incredibly emotional moments, particularly involving the “special” prisoners and, of course, Gabe’s part of the story, that had me in tears. However, certain character deaths left me feeling robbed—there just could have been a bit more for them before their final moments.

The ending didn’t provide the level of closure I was hoping for. It felt almost too quick, and I wished for more depth and expansion on the war’s resolution. That said, this series as a whole will stick with me, and I absolutely recommend it to readers who love dystopian fantasy filled with battles, rebellion, and a touch of romance (though it’s not primarily a romance book). While I wanted more from this conclusion, I truly loved the journey and the characters who kept me invested from start to finish.

Content Notes: The series contains mild to moderate language, mild to moderate violence, and closed door intimate scenes between a non-married couple.

“I love you more than my next heartbeat. I love you so much I’d gladly offer up anybody for death, except you.”

Platinum Truths is book three and the final installment of the Silver Lies trilogy. This story was so intense, emotional, and beautifully written. There were times I wanted to cry and throw my book across the room. It was truly bittersweet to read because while I wanted to know how it ended, I am sad that the journey is over.

I loved all of these characters so much! We continue the stories of Ash, Gabe (Diesel), and Kane from the prior two books but then get the addition of several more wonderful side characters. There is action, romance, prophecy, and redemption throughout the story, along with more world building.

This story really makes you think about change which is a central theme, and if it is possible to for people to change who they are at their core. Can they break away from their past prejudices and trauma not letting it define them but becoming who they were truly meant to be.

Ash and Kane are not only survivors of their past but also leaders of a revolution of change. They are not looking to take control, but instead looking for equality in a world where those who are different are suppressed.

Platinum truths was such an epic conclusion to this trilogy and I will continue to recommend it for years to come. Not only was it an enjoyable reading experience but it has valuables lessons that are so important in today’s world.

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐌𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐲 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬. One of the best series that I have read. So FREAKING moving – all the feels. Wow! Compelling, un-put-down-able, emotional, and with gripping prose that takes you right into this dystopian world. The story is so intense and so beautifully done that I devoured every line. All three books are amazing. I cannot tell you how many times my heart was ripped out, put back together and then ripped out again….and I loved every minute of it. The use of descriptive language (but not too much), beautiful writing style and fast pace will transport you into Ash’s story. I am at a loss for words. If you haven’t started this series, 𝕤𝕥𝕒𝕣𝕥 𝕟𝕠𝕨.

Willa Layne is now an auto buy author for me. I bought all three books because I know that I want to revisit this trilogy again.

It's hard to believe that I read the ARC of the first book in this series just last January. Willa has outdone herself by bringing us the perfect closer of a dystopian closed-door romance series. I remember the chokehold that dystopian books had on me in middle and high school. I've been chasing the high I had reading those, like The Hunger Games, Maze Runner, and Divergent. As a 26-year-old, I can finally say I felt the same reading the Silver Lies series.

The love triangle (triangle isn't the best word in my mind), the lies, the intrigue, the politics, the drama - it was a page-turner that I forced myself to read more slowly because I knew I would devour it too fast without a clear head. I was foaming at the mouth to receive this ARC in my inbox, and I want to thank Willa for sending it along. A huge shout-out also goes to the other people in her ARC group, influencer list, and Street Team for the utter chaos we created as we read this. The twists and turns of the characters leave us emotionally wrecked, with one we don't want to root for, but I'm always here for a slight redemption arc. Ash, Diesel, and Kane will always have a place in my bookish heart and shelves, and although it is the end of the series, I'll hold out hope for some novellas about their lives and stories. I will, of course, hold off on spoilers, but know that going in, you'll love these characters. However, no one is safe, and you'll need some tissues.

A truth so shocking that I was left speechless. I was not ready for the way this series ended. I started gathering theories after listening to Aster talk, but I was way off and yet I love it.

Golden Lies ends with Ash leaving Kane bleeding out in the forest and Nova coming to protect Ash. Once Ash makes it North to Will, she is determined to head back to get Kane. Everything in her believes he's alive.

The journey back to Hope is far from easy, but the path to freedom never is. Ash finds new friends as she learns to trust again. What was once believed in changes. A character that we hated has an eye opening experience questioning everything they once knew. I actually felt sad and compassion towards this character once his truths came out.

The path to Kane and figuring out how they can all have a future where blondes are free is not an easy one. Death will be everywhere. It will be a constant race against the clock. I don't know how many times I caught myself holding my breath at the intensity of the scene I was reading.

Absolutely DO NOT read chapter 62 out in public. Just grab the blanket, tissue, and comfort food. Thank me later.

Fight to live and fight for love.

Dang. I am still processing. I LOVED! Every. Single. Moment. Of this series. Not hard to say this is my new favorite series!

The story was tied together elegantly. All the easter eggs (and even some I didn’t realize) all came together to create the most beautiful ending. I really enjoyed the twists and turns. I was right about some and surprised about others. It had the perfect amount of depth and emotions. I smiled and cried and everything in between.

The characters were realistic and well written. The story flowed naturally with every decision they made.

The world building was enchanting and I was easily able to see everything the author described.

Willa’s writing is very lyrical and flowed off the page just as fast as I could consume it.

I cannot hype this book up enough!!!

Read if you like:
-Dystopian Romantasy Series
-Hunted blondes
-Intense battle scenes
-Political intrigue
-Off grid living
-Post apocalyptic world
-Magical gifts
-Found family
-Slow burn
-Flawed heroine
-Multi POV
-Broody men with hearts of gold
-Stabby FMC

“See, that’s where you both got it wrong. You need to live for each other. Fight not to die, but to live. To live a life with him in it… Don’t give up, don’t die, don’t break. Live.”

Wow. I am blown away. This is the perfect ending to the series. While it’s a difficult story to read at times - what these poor characters endured! - it’s a beautiful story. The love, the triumph, the redemption…

The author managed to completely shock me, more than once. There were many things I did not see coming at all - which is a real gift of the author’s! And I definitely cried. More than once. How could you do that to us, Willa?! This is one that’s going to stick with me for a while.

I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I loved reading how the three main characters changed/grew over three books. The author kept the punches rolling while creating moments of hope and joy. If you love a good emotional roller coaster, try it!

What a way to end a series! This was a fast-paced read that ties together the previous two books and has plenty of twists. The final installment doesn't shy away from the pain that comes with change.

I highly recommend this dystopia series.

Favorite Quotes:
"He's still in there and even if he's not, I will love whatever version of him remains. I will love him enough for the both of us. "
"I will not leave you alone, in this world or the next. Please come back to me. Don't let him win. Keep fight—to live"

The last book…. 😭 my heart.

I love all of her books! This was the last one in the trilogy.

First off a massive thank you for allowing me the privilege of receiving a ARC copy again!! ♥️

Platinum Truths… I loved the main characters. They have all come so far in this series and they broke my heart in this one. I felt like I went through all the emotions! Anyone else? 😜

I do feel this was fast paced and kept me invested!! I needed to know what was going to happened with the rebels! 😮‍💨

Sometimes when you have something to say just say it you never know when you won’t be able to… 😞

Fight for love. Fight to live.

They all fought like hell and deserve happiness for what they went through.

Willa 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 such a great job!!!

Willa Layne created such a beautiful world with complex characters and so many twists and turns. This entire series will make you feel all the things, and Platinum Truths nicely wrapped everything up. This book made me like a trope (at least I think it's a trope) that I can honestly say I have never liked in any other book. I wish I could be more specific with that, but I don't want to ruin this story. I laughed, I cried, I started rooting for a character I thought I hated, and so many other things all while my nose was glued to my phone for however many hours it took me to finish this in one sitting. I thought about these characters for days after I finished, and I can't wait to see what this author comes up with next.

Fight to live and fight for love! Ash and her extraordinary band of misfits return in the riveting finale of the Silver Lies Series. A high-stakes adventure and treacherous journey that will leave your heart racing. Amidst insurmountable odds and formidable enemies, Ash follows her heart. Will she rescue Kane in time, her gray-eyed man? Full of courageous heart-pounding battles, relentless danger, and selfless moments of sacrifice. The magnificent conclusion to the trilogy will resonate with you long after the final word has been read. A powerful reminder there are no limits to what we will do for the ones we love. The number of times I wished to yell at Willa Layne in this book was equivalent to the office reel of just no no no no no with the fast music 🤣. But! This book couldn't have closed up this series any better than it did! Absolutely loved it! The twists, turns, sweet spots, and agonizing emotion drawing writing this book takes on you is worth every bit.

I still seek my duel of flaming vengeance tho Willa Layne on that redemption arc!! How could you. I didn't want to like that person! But I must say the arc was pretty satisfying at the same time 🤣. But why did I have to feel an ounce of thankfulness first!?

By Willa Layne

I received this as an ARC.

This is book three in the trilogy. I was so beyond excited to receive this ARC. I needed to know what was going to happen and, at the same time, did not want to read it because I love this series so much I didn't want it to end!

I absolutely loved this book. It was so freaking good. It puts you through all the emotions. I loved the characters and their growth in this book and the whole series. I loved the story. It was fast-paced and keeps you wanting more.

This is the 3rd and final installment in the silver lies series! Willa has written such a beautiful dystopian like world and hit every emotion through the whole series!

Ash and Kane are back again and on the path to end the war. They meet several new allies in platinum truths that end up being more of a family than anything else! Diesel has started questions the events that have laid out his whole life, but will he discover the whole truth in time or will it be too late!?

Check out all 3 books! You won’t be disappointed with the YA dystopian series! Hands down great work!

THANK YOU, Willa, for not completely destroying my heart. You wrote a beautiful redemption arc for a character I was not pleased with and somehow managed to give me peace and then a heart stopping, nail biting finish.

If you've ever read a book that you never wanted to end or were maybe even scared to finish, then you know it CAN take MONTHS to finish a book. This was no fault to Platinum Truths but a mixture of life and just being so sad for this series to end 💚

“Among the pain and the grief, there was joy in between, in the small moments, like sunshine through the cracks in a dark cabin.”

In typical Willa fashion, this book will rip your heart out, make you love, make you hate, then put you back together again. A book to make you nervous that things are going *too* well when there are still 100 pages left in the story. A wonderful conclusion to a fantastic trilogy. What an honor to have ARC read all of these.
