To end Cassandra's relationship with NI agent Riordan St. James, her father had the NI agent James kidnapped and tortured. In an effort to separate Cassandra from new boyfriend and DIRE agent Aidan Monroe, Robert has Riordan returned with major trauma to his body.

Dr. Natalie Meeks girl parts are aflutter as she looks at Riordan through one way glass and listens to Mitchell tell her
Riordan's needed in the field immediately. Riordan's not exactly her type of patient but he's exactly her type of man. Though she knows she shouldn't - no way is Natalie not taking on Riordan's case.

Riordan seems to be working on Nat as much as she's working on him as they each face their demons and home truths. Someone's not happy about Nat's new patient and takes pains to stop her. Instead, the villain's plans go awry and draw Riordan and Natalie closer together when dangers imminent and Riordan learns the meaning of team.

Fourth in this very fun romantic sci-fi lite soap opera started good and got better as the read went on. It would be helpful to the reader to start with the first of the series to understand the extremely convoluted relationships and not be fooled that each story brings enough forward to read as stand alone.

You need to read this book. I think this is probably my favorite of the entire series so far, and the entire theme for this book can be summed up in one word. Karma. I won’t spoil it for you, but I think that the characters, whether good or bad, really reap what they sow. Riordan’s been through a lot, but thanks to those around him, he emerges as the amazing individual that he truly is. And Natalie. She goes through such a metamorphosis. I really find myself rooting for these two. But the best part about the entire book is that didn’t just receive their happy ending. They earned it. Please, please go out and get this book! You need it!

I actually won a signed paperback of this. It got buried under a stack of papers on my coffee table. I unearthed it last night and decided to read it. I couldn't put it down. This is an awesome story. I don't believe it's the first in the D.I.R.E series but it didn't feel like I was missing anything. There was a little running but not enough to be annoying and the outcome was great. I really enjoyed this story. :)

As we get into each new book with the characters new superpower enhancement the stories get more interesting and very entertaining. I love how the author keeps them at odds making them work for their relationship.

I thought Fred Filbrich did a wonderful job of narration. The only issue I found was I could hear him swallow. I thought he brought the characters to life giving them wonderful voices with lots of action. His tones where right on the money you were never left guessing as to how the character was feeling. You could hear the pain, smiles and excitement with each one. I heard no background noise and I could not tell if he ever took a break. The volume stayed the same throughout the audio what you hear is a very clean and clear audio. It was even flow throughout the whole narration. His normal voice is very pleasant and very easy to listen to. It was easy to tell if the character was male or female as he changed back and forward, I had no trouble knowing who was talking and what they were feeling. I really enjoyed his narration and do look forward to listening to him some more.

Riordan is a bad boy who knows how to get what he wants when he wants it. There is some mystery about his past and just where he has been. With a psychological evaluation and one cute doctor leave him on a tail spin. He doesn’t feel he needs this but he does seem to be a wild card.

Natalie is the doctor who will be doing his evaluation she isn’t to impress to start with he seems to know how to push all her buttons. She is the daughter of a politician she never steps outside the box, she does as she has been told. That is until Riordan who pushes her into showing her true self and making her step outside the box she lives in.

I really loved how Natalie comes out and shows her true self. There is drama there must be when you have always been the goody to shoes. These two have a powerful chemistry with some very hot love scenes that really set your heart pounding. The story is full of action, excitement and a few heart stopping moments. I was hooked from start to finish really having a hard time putting it down. The plot is very good, the action between the other DIRE agents is very interesting. There is humor but at the same time some serious issues as the story unfolds and you learn everything these two have had to deal with your heart goes out to them. I am so looking forward to reading more of this series.

Fantastic

These are really good books. Riordan and Natalie are special. He's gone through so much pain and suffering. He's not sure who he can trust or believe in. Even himself. She helps him believe in what he thinks is impossible. And to get to the reason behind of what happened to him.

Joni Hahn does such a wonderful job of bringing the romance to her science fiction. The D.I.R.E Agency Series is a combination of the now trendy Mercenary type series and you got it the Justice League! While it is filled with everyday people doing some pretty scary work, it also has a branch of individuals who have some added talents.

In Agent M4: Riordan, Riordan (our hero) is merged with the ability to attract and detract metal (Think magneto). But each hero has his own special skill hence the letter designation. Of course technically it should be M1 because Riordan is the first to have this ability implanted. But it's a series and Ms Hahn is using the number in his designation as the book number in the series.. and I forgive her. *grin*

The first three books in the series was something of a twisted and tangled trilogy with the ever devious Ms. Hahn tossing in some pretty interesting family connections. But Book 4 takes us a step away from the core group and adds some more individuals.. whew.. otherwise the series would have had to end. In Riordan, we take on a new enemy although in some ways it is winding up some old business.

Riordan St. James was recruited young to be a bodyguard for a supersecret agency. Of course they had some questionable ethics but Riordan was a decent man who stuck pretty strong to his personal beliefs. His only failing was to fall for the bosses daughter. For that crime he was sold into torture and terror. Held capture for three years he has come back with revenge on his mind. When the D.I.R.E Agency offered him a chance to regain his life he jumped on it. After all everything else had changed, why shouldn't he. The only thing stopping him from active duty is his psych eval and clearance. But when D.I.R.E brings in sexy Natalie Meeks, the last thing on Riordan's mind is well, his mind.

Natalie Meeks, wanna be wild child, has focused her life into being the proper daughter of a US Senator. No crazy tattoos or shopping sprees. She is a qualified psychiatrist with an oh so proper clientele. Still suffering from the guilt of not realizing that one of her patients was suicidal, the last thing she needs is the strong attraction she feels to Riordan. Only sometimes you just can't stop the pull of attraction. When her father all but throws a fit and demands she removes herself from any type of relationship, proper Natalie agrees.. Wild Child Natalie has entirely different plans.

This could have been a boring, run of the mills story but Joni infuses it with her trade mark twists and turns and no one (except D.I.R.E and it's agents) is who they are supposed to be. To the extent that one of things Riordan must do to reenter society is discover who stole his identity and why.. And believe me once you are sure you know who it is.. you will be forced to think again.

This was an exceptional addition to the D.I.R.E Series and I am already looking forward to more!

Great Job Joni!!!

I received this book from the author and from Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock.
Agent M4 Riordan is the fourth book in the D.I.R.E. Agency Series but it can be read as a stand alone.
Riordan worked for a notorious criminal before he was betrayed and sent to a Mongolia prison for three years. When he was finally freed D.I.R.E.Agency found him and helped him slowly start to regain his life back. He was the enemy and now he works for the agency and is set to become one of the super soldiers. The only problem is he doesn't trust anyone and his scars run deeper than just physical wounds. That's where Dr. Meeks comes in. Natalie Meeks is the daughters of a powerful senator and a psychologist. She is there to help Riordan with his emotional scars and become fit for duty once again. Sparks fly between the two of them but she's off limits. Natalie doesn't want to cross the line again between patient and counselor but it's hard to stop thinking about Riordan. Not only do they have to fight their growing attraction but Riordan's past as well. Someone wanted him dead and the who is still out there. His identity was stolen and whoever had him sent to Mongolia didn't count on him coming back out alive. They have to navigate the dangerous of web secrets and mysteries if they hope to survive and take a chance on love.
I really enjoyed the story. From page one it sucked me in to the very end. Riordan is a sexy scarred warrior who is afraid to open himself up again. Natalie has issues of her own and falls back to her father and his wants instead of her own. Both are interesting characters that are flawed. With each other's help they can find themselves again. I loved Riordan's character and wanted to know more about him. I enjoyed when Natalie began to let loose and be herself. Both characters were strong and real. The plot was engaging and kept me turning the pages. My only dislike was how short it was. I wanted more.
I recommend this books for fans of paranormal romance dealing with military and special powers. If you enjoyed the previous books then you will enjoy this great addition.
I would rate this 5 fangs.

I’ve been a fan of this series when I found it by total fluke one day. It has an amazing twist of sci-fi, romance, suspense, action, and drama. Now honestly, it has been quite a long time since I read the other books in the series so I was a bit worried that I would be confused because it does have a bit of a complex storyline. I was so happy when I started reading it though because I was still able to follow along with the story amazingly well.
While this is the 4th book in the series, I don’t think that you really need to read the other books to fully grasp what it is the D.I.R.E. agency does because Ms. Hahn does a great job explaining everything about it, without going into so much detail that if you have read the others you would be upset. I liked how the previous characters were brought back into this book so we were able to catch up with them and how they are doing.
I have to say though that I really do believe Riordan has become a new book boyfriend of mine just because he has an amazing strength about him. He has been through hell, yet he is still able to keep moving forward with his life. With the special ability that he has now, I thought that was just amazing! I really wish that I had that ability just because it is insanely awesome what he is able to do.
Natalie’s character was one that I have mixed emotions about. While I did like her, at the same time I wasn’t really sure what I really thought about her! She has her strong points, but at the same time I wonder how someone can be as… slow as she is at times.
Overall though, I completely loved this next part of the series and I really can’t wait for the next book to be released!

(I received this book for free as part of Goodreads First Reads giveaways).

(This review may contain spoilers).

Although this book was the fourth in a series, I still found it really easy to read. I would have liked it to be a little bit longer, but it was still a really entertaining read.

I liked the general idea of the agents of D.I.R.E., even though I would have liked a bit more information about the science that was behind the enhancements the characters received.

I liked the relationship between Natalie and Riordan, but given how unethical it is for a psychiatrist to become romantically involved with her (or his) patient, I was surprised that there wasn't more conflict. I did think that the chemistry between the two characters came across as very real and natural.

It was nice to see the hints of the other characters and their relationships, too. I particularly liked Rose and I would have liked to see more of his friendship with Riordan.

There were some fairly amusing moments in this book, but I also felt there were quite a few good, intense moments as well. I would have liked to see more of the powers of the other agents of D.I.R.E., too.

I felt the author did a good job of showing how Riordan's past affected him and gave him serious trust issues; something that I can really identify with.

I also felt that there was a fairly good mixture of the plot and romance. I felt there was enough of a storyline to keep me invested in more than just the two main characters jumping into bed together and I felt that the book was really well-written and a good read. I'd definitely be interested in reading the other books in this series at some point in the future.

Riordan, has been ripped from his prison in Mongolia and dropped at DIRE's doorstep in the hope of causing a ruckus between Cass and Aiden, (Book2). His hands have been damaged due to his prolonged torture and he is healed by DIRE and given a chance at a new lift. His new hands are merged with the ability to attract and repel metal.

The only thing standing between him and active duty is a psych eval and clearance. But when DIRE brings in sexy Natalie Meeks, he's instantly attracted to her.

Natalie Meeks, senators daughter and reformed wild child, has forged her new life into being the proper daughter of a Senator. No craziness allowed and she is doing her best to fill the mould he has made. But still traumatised from the guilt of a patient, and her boyfriend, killing himself and others in an explosion, she no longer feels sure of her own decisions.

This is a gripping ride and there is a fantastic dollop of superheroness (is that a word???). Our disparate team of heroes with varied powers are coalescing into a cohesive team, relying on each other and their strengths. Riordan and Natalie are an explosive combination and I loved the bickering they engage in to hide their feelings. Clever writing, fast pace and intriguing interlinked stories all make for a fantastic package.

I'm off to read S5: Jayden and then withdrawal symptoms will set in waiting for the next instalment in my new favourite superhero/enhanced human series!!!!!

I received this book from TNT Reviews for an honest opinion.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel. Every page just dripped with adventure. I couldn't wait to find out how the book ended.

After working for the local Mafia Boss, Riordan St James wakes up in a Mongolian prison, with no idea how he got there. Years later he finds himself back in society, disfigured and angry. Offered a position with an ulterior motive and a promise of a new life, Riordan has some huge decisions to make.

Asked to help Riordan settle into his new life, psychologist Natalie Meeks finds herself in familiar territory. Unsure of how she feels about the situation and Riordan.

Riordan continues to search for answers as to why and how he ended up in Mongolia, after new evidence comes to light both Natalie and Riordan find themselves trusting each other in order to find out the truth.

A great book..
4 stars from me.

Ok, I gave this book three stars, but frankly, I just couldn't get into it like the other three books. Maybe because I really didn't find a connection between me and Riordan. Unlike the other books where each main character was fully introduced in previous books, Riordan was just thrown to us at the end of book 3 and I wasn't given a chance to 'like' him.

I also wasn't happy that his story was far off of the last three stories. Those stories interconnected. But this one was a stand alone story. And, the characters from the other book played little in this book. I missed them. Yes Dar was in it a bit, but I would have like all of the other characters have a stronger role in it, just like in the other books.

This book did not make me want to read book 5 which I think will be Jaydons story. Sorry Joni, you should have stopped with Dar.

Magnetic Attraction

Jordan St. James has lived in three years of hell in a foreign prison. Rage and thoughts of revenge were all that kept him going. He finally had his revenge against Robert Naylor but something was still missing he just couldn't figure out what.
DIRE wants to put Riordan to work and the only one that can grant him clearance is Dr. Natalie Meeks.
Natalie thinks Mitchell is out of his mind to bring her in for the evaluation. Someone very close to Natalie was killed and it's affected her confidence.
The attraction is intense from the moment they meet. It's forbidden for a doctor and patient to have a relationship, but Riordan will toss the rules out the window when it comes to Natalie.
In order for Riordan to go on with his life with Natalie, he has to go back to his past and figure who wanted him out of the way and why.

I think by far this is my favorite Agent of the D.I.R.E. series. Riordan comes back from a horrible torturous past. Being held in a Mongolian prison. Beaten, his hands crushed. Becomes one of the D.I.R.E. Agencies new Agent. Hahn doesn't disappoint with more secrets revealed in this book. Seems Riordan's parents have a checkered past just like all the other Agents. Of course once again the charisma between Riordan and Natalie is awesome! The comradeship between all the agents and their significant others is so fun. I can't wait for the next book in the series! Jaydan has my curiosity peaked!

So...not a trilogy after all as I suspected when I read the first three...Hahn gets back on track with danger and excitement with the scorching hot Riordan "Saint" St. James. To say Riordan has trust issues is an understatement as his psychiatrist Natalie Meeks find out. But what woman doesn't like a man with magnetic hands?!Of course the two are attracted to each other and become involved as predictably expected. However it's Riordan's unabashed emotions that drive this story allowing him to come full circle with his past and his future.

Pretty good story, even though I haven't read the first 3 books in this series, enough background info was given that I felt comfortable jumping in at this point. There are a couple of questions that weren't answered that took away from the story, but not enough to stop me from reading any more in the series.

This books is amazing. The action and struggles that Riordan St. James goes through will have you sitting on the edge of you seat. While finding a new family with his D.I.R.E. Agency teammates, his fear of trusting could cause him to lose the woman he falls in love with. I know you will enjoy this book as much as I did. I can't wait for the next one.

Soap Opera on steroids

Definitely must read from book one. Everybody is connected in a mind boggling way. The only negative is the author's love of weird lip descriptions.

This book is at the same level as the others in the series (aside from the randomly scattered commas) but... Here's the thing, I'm someone with a mental illness. I can never get behind a story that has a psychologist sleeping with her patients as a key plot point and treats it as completely okay. That's fucked up. Incredibly. I kept wanting to get more into the story because dastardly deeds and double crosses, I love shit like that. I couldn't though because the author kept pushing it in my face. All it did was make me cringe at the lead female constantly. Do not recommend to anyone who wants to root for an ethical heroine.
