“…a super twisty thriller that kept me guessing. Just when I thought I had things figured out, the author flipped the story around, and I had to begin guessing all over again.” -Netgalley Reviewer
This book was so good, I told anyone who would listen about it.
The villain was intentionally obvious, which made me suspect there were more than one. Figuring out who was half the fun. It kept me hooked until the end.
Avery is a strong, proactive protagonist, but at times, she seemed too strong. During one argument, she spoke as if she already disliked something Logan was doing. With her amnesia, she shouldn’t have known how she felt.
Logan’s lines were refreshingly realistic. That said, I wondered why the villain would give the game away so early on. I would have preferred cryptic hints that forced the protagonist to piece things together herself.
At one point, the story tries to nudge the reader toward suspecting someone as a villain. I was convinced they weren’t—and I was pleased when my gut instinct turned out to be right! So satisfying.
Thank you to NetGalley and Inkubator Books for an advanced copy of this unputdownable novel.
Trigger warning for intimate partner violence and emotional abuse.
Absolutely loved this book! I’m a sucker for an Amnesia story, and this one didn’t disappoint. I swear I was losing my mind right along with our MC and I had no idea what were truths, lies, misdirection or false memories. This book kept me reading late into the night and I couldn’t wait to get back to read more.
Just finished reading an advanced copy of a book that was just released on January 12th called, Love You To Death. This was a really enjoyable thriller about a wife who has a traumatic brain injury and can't remember the last 2 years of her life. When her husband brings her home and starts taking care of her, he's telling her she likes foods she knows she didn't like, she notices none of the clothes in her closet are things she would wear, and he says she's friends with people she now feels uncomfortable around. Something isn't right. But she can't remember the last 2 years of her life, things aren't adding up and she feels she can't trust her husband and she doesn't know who around her that she can trust. He seems so perfect, but he keeps telling her things she just doesn't feel are correct, and he keeps saying that they had this perfect life together. But when she finds a hidden note in her handwriting that says, "don't trust him. It's not your fault." She knows she has to figure out the truth and fast because even though she can't remember she knows her instincts are right, she doesn't feel safe in her own home with her husband. This was a page-turner, I flew through this one! It has some twists I didn't see coming, I really enjoyed it! ❤️📚
Thank you to the author and to the publisher for this ARC of Love You To Death, in exchange for an honest review.
This one pulled me in from the start. I had so many questions right off the bat. As the plot slowly unfolded, I had two distinctive thoughts: I love this book - I hate this book. I mostly loved this book tho. The gaslighting, abuse, and control exerted over Avery may be triggering for some.
I think some people will have an issue with Avery, the FMC. I can see them hating this book because they’ll view Avery as stupid, weak, naive, and unbearable. I, however, loved her journey and how the book played out.
We are thrown into Avery’s world where she’s unable to remember the past two years of her life. She’s been married to Logan for three years but can only remember one of those years. Avery had some type of accident and now has to try and remember her lost memories.
Logan is a stand-up guy, a humanitarian who is just taking care of his wife and trying to do the best by her. But there’s something in the back of Avery’s mind that tells her not to trust him. Then she begins finding notes she’s hidden around the house. But everyone tells Avery how lucky she is to have Logan as a husband. They all say he is such a great man. They wish they had a husband like him. So what is happening here?
This book is wild. I finished it pretty quickly because I just had to know what was happening here.
Rachel, Edith, Paige… who are these women and how do they play into Avery’s world? Who can we trust? A psychological thriller that will keep you guessing until the very end.
The first read of 2025 and I started with my faviourite genre! And it’s safe to say this one was a page turner, especially with the short and snappy chapters. The story seemed to kick right off straight away, and Part 1 was so tense, that by the end the book had me in it’s clutches.
I enjoyed then how part 2 stripped things back so you could read about the events that had led up to the present day moments. And then as for part 3, well, the twists and turns really do begin! I also enjoyed the different points of views at it allowed me to really get into the character’s heads.
This book will have you feeling frustrated at times, I know there was plenty of moments where I wanted to reach in and protect Avery, I found she was a character you could really get behind and my own head hurt for her at times. I really enjoyed how the author kept me on my toes too, I thought I worked out the plot, then I’d be hit with another curveball.
This one definitely had me from start to finish, an explosive book to start off the new reading year!
This book was so well written! It’s obvious who the villain is from the beginning and Chambers makes you want to reach into the book and take care of him yourself for Avery! He mad me SO angry! I really enjoyed how much I hated him. I know that sounds weird, but Chambers did such a great job evoking the emotions out of me and not many authors can do that successfully.
Chambers also threw me for a loop with some of the twists that were revealed!! I kept thinking that things happened one way and then I learned that they happened and/or were supposed to happen a completely different way!! I couldn’t believe what I was reading. I felt duped but in a really good way!
There is some domestic violence in this book, so I do think that this should come with a trigger warning. However, I do think that within the pages of this book are some really good ideas of how to handle some situations.
Thriller readers are going to find this book to be thrilling and gripping. It is out now, so go get your hands on it!
Just the title of Love You To Death sounded gripping, so I couldn’t wait to start the story. I was gripped and feeling uneasy from the start. Logan and Avery are married and I’m glad they have each other. Or do they really?
How much can they trust each other? Logan was pretty helpful and caring much of the time. Then he’d be a little condescending and I didn’t like that. I’m glad that Avery could, and did, stand up for herself. I agreed with her when she didn’t like Mia and Logan talking without her knowing. I don’t like it when people talk about me without me knowing. I always say “Nothing about me without me.”
I have disabilities I was born with and not traumatic brain injury, but I really feel for Avery, and the book was a good way to raise awareness of traumatic brain injury.
I liked Mia, and how she was with Avery. It was disconcerting to find out some things about how she used to act though. I found myself wondering if Logan was telling Avery the truth about that.
Who is more trustworthy?
Thanks to Rowan Chambers

“Psychological thriller” is a hugely misleading description of this book. The writing is just bad. Everything about it feels juvenile. Character development - there is none. The characters are flat, stereotypical tropes and end up being exactly who you think they’re going to be from the beginning (except one “twist” which I’ll address later).
As far as plot - there is absolutely no building of suspense whatsoever. From the very first chapter, the main character states her suspicions of her husband. Asking herself things like, “Why don’t I trust him? Something seems off. What’s going on?” It’s as if the author feels like we can’t come up with such basic questions for ourselves while we’re reading, so she literally spells them out every couple of pages. There’s nothing mysterious or intriguing about how the story unfolds either. All the details are just spelled out by the characters as they happen, and the whole story is strung out from point A to point B in such a bland, basic manner. And the major opportunity to build real suspense (having us wonder what really happened during the time period the main character can’t remember) she just lays it all out in the first half of the book!
A couple other weird things of note: 1.)another reviewer mentioned the odd way the author handled the topic of mental illness and medications to treat depression and anxiety disorders. The author doesn’t seem to have any experience or real knowledge of these points based on what she wrote in the book. 2.) The “twists” at the end, if you want to call them that, are so contrived they just feel silly. Like the author knew there was supposed to be something shocking towards the end, but she completely missed the mark in building suspense throughout, so she just threw some random thing in there to be like “Ha! Bet you weren’t expecting that.”Nope. Sure wasn’t. Because it doesn’t make any sense at all.
Rowan Chambers did a brilliant job with this page-turner. I could not put it down, and no matter how many times I theorised where the story was going, I never quite guessed what he was going to do next. The characters were believable and relatable, and the multiple perspectives really helped flesh out the characters. I’d recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun thriller full of twists and turns.

When I started the book, I had a sense of deja vue that I'd already read the book, but it was another with a similar plot.
The plot is sooooo good, it's gripping, suspense strewn and I couldn't tear myself away from the pages. Pace picks up fairly quickly and my adrenalin soon kicked in as Avery started piecing together her life before amnesia with the realisation that her husband is trying to kill her.
It's a fantastic, suspense strewn psychological thriller with great characters and a belter of a twist at the end.
A first for me from this author and definitely not my last, absolutely loved it!
DNF at 43%. Look, I’m not looking for literary masterpieces when I reach for this kind of thing, and I am willing to suspend a lot of disbelief if the story or characters or plot are exciting or interesting. But this book sounds like it was written by someone who’d maybe seen a bunch of movies or read a bunch of books about similar scenarios and then just decided to make a superficial regurgitation of what they’d consumed without being able to add any kind of personal experience or insight or creativity to make it compelling. They also seem to have a pretty ignorant and exaggerated view of how antidepressants work—who knows, maybe later there’s some “twist” where those pills were some entirely different kind of drug that could instantly turn a person into a smiling zombie. There’s just not enough here to make me care to spend a couple more hours finishing this book, and enough that was actively annoying me to decide to stop.
Love you to death by by Rowen Chambers. I did like the cover of this book. I did enjoy this book. I liked Avery. I really didn't like Logan. I didn't trust him. Rachel I wasn't sure how I felt about her. I loved Edith. Especially how she was with Avery. I loved how she was right about people. Paige I wasn't sure how I felt about her at first. She grew on me. Wow I really didn't see that coming.
This book is an absolute page-turner that kept me hooked from beginning to end. The story centers on Avery, a woman grappling with the aftermath of a traumatic brain injury that erases two years of her memory. As she pieces her life back together, her seemingly perfect husband, Logan, steps in as her rock. But as fragments of her memory return, Avery begins to question everything—Logan’s intentions, her past, and even her own instincts.
What I loved most about this book was its ability to keep me constantly guessing. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, another twist was thrown in to shake things up. The tension builds beautifully, and the last chapter delivered a twist I truly didn’t see coming. Chambers’ writing is sharp and immersive, making it impossible to put down.
While the pacing felt a little slow in the beginning, once the second part of the book kicked off, it was non-stop suspense. The exploration of themes like trust, manipulation, and memory was not only gripping but also deeply unsettling in the best way possible.
If you’re a fan of psychological thrillers that keep you on edge, “Love You to Death” is a must-read. It’s one of those books that stays with you long after you’ve turned the final page.
Thank you to the author and @zooloosbooktours for letting me review this book.
Im pretty sure Edith is next….I guess when all you care about is money and power youll do anything possible to achieve both. I knew Logan was a dick from the beginning I just didnt know what, when or how the plot twist would come into play. And Rachel?! Definitely did not see that one coming. I just figured Logan was feeding her all the lies and she wanted to play her part… come to find out she had her own agenda the whole time.

"Love You to Death" is a fabulous, thrilling journey. Rowen Chambers has created an amazing cast of characters, some evil and some good, as well as a brilliant plot with several twists and turns. Captivating, original, and worthy of a place in your library.

Love You to Death by Rowen Chambers is the most unsettling yet compelling book I have ever read. From the first page, I was drawn into Avery’s world. A life that seems perfect on the surface but is riddled with cracks as she begins piecing together fragments of her forgotten past.
The writing is so vivid and realistic that it felt as though I was living every moment alongside Avery. The creeping tension and emotional turmoil were so intense that I found myself physically reacting to the story - more than once, the hairs on my arms stood on end, and I even felt waves of nausea. That’s an experience no other book has ever evoked for me.
There were times when I had to put the book down because it felt overwhelmingly disturbing, but I couldn’t leave it unfinished. The need to uncover the truth about Avery’s memories and Logan’s role in her life was irresistible. The twists and turns kept me on edge, and the conclusion left me both stunned and deeply satisfied.
Rowen Chambers has crafted an unforgettable psychological thriller that gets under your skin and stays with you long after the final page. If you’re searching for a book that will captivate and unsettle you in equal measure, Love You to Death is an absolute must-read.
This main character finds herself in a terrifying situation: no memory of the last few years and some very suspicious people around her! I couldn’t put this book down! My mind was racing with all the possibilities of what could have happened. I needed to know what happened and it did not disappoint. A really well written book with a very clever plot which I will be recommending to my friends and family. I will also be on the look out for more by this author in the future.
What a rollercoaster of a ride this book is! The story follows Avery and Logan who are a *happily* married couple, and Avery is recovering from a TBI. However, not everything is as it seems, and there are a lot of secrets being hidden. We follow Avery as she feels she is being held a prisoner in her own home by her husband who has become overprotective. But Logan has his reasons, and these slowly unravel each chapter, culminating in an explosive ending. I thoroughly enjoyed this read.
I found this novel to build up the tension and suspense really well and it was an easy read. Every time I thought I guessed right what was going on something else happened. It's my first time reading this author and I think if you are a thriller reader this new release may be one you'd like too.
I was instantly drawn to this book by the striking front cover. I love the contrast of the red and white and that with the title made me think this would be a great psychological thriller read.
After a devastating fall, Avery has lost 2 years of her memories - but her loving husband is supporting her through this traumatic period and helping her piece together the wonderful life they've shared together so far.
This took a while to get going with a little slower pace through the first part of the book. I also don't think this was helped by the fact that I didn't really gel with either character. I'm not really sure what it was about Avery particularly, but I just couldn't quite connect. Logan made me a little uncomfortable and I was quite wary of how he was portraying their life together and wondered just how much of it was true.
Once the second part started, things really got interesting and I raced through this to the end - which had a great twist. The tension really built up as the lace increased and I kept trying to come up with theories for how this would all play out!
This was my first read by this author and I'm sure that I'll be grabbing some more in the future.
After a presumed fall, Avery has lost the last two years of her memory. Logan appears to be the perfect husband in caring for Avery, but when her memories start to return; she cannot be sure which ones are real and which ones she has imagined. The more Avery remembers, the more she doubts Logan.
The story has a slow start, but is worth the wait, offering a compelling suspenseful thriller, with characters that are not particularly likable, but this enhances the story, featuring numerous twists with a good satisfying ending.
The story contains a good amount of gaslighting; if you have a trigger to this kind of storyline, approach it with caution. I don't have experience with this kind of toxic behavior, but I will say the story highlights in great detail the issues surrounding this toxicity in relationships, which made me feel sad about Avery and for the people who are going through healing from such experiences...Releases Jan 12.
I LOVE a good amnesia based novel! It's a difficult theme to get right, but Rowen Chambers really nailed it.
Avery is a strong protagonist, and while technically an unreliable narrator with her amnesia, you can’t help but root for her. The beginning is quite slow and dialogue-heavy, but the pace picks up in the second half and stays engaging through to the end.
No one is quite who they seem and it kept me highly suspicious of every new person we are introduced to. Twists come at just the right moments, and while the ending is a little abrupt, it’s still satisfying.
Great first experience reading this author! Would recommend for those who love a good unreliable narrator or domestic thrillers. Huge TW for domestic abuse. I received a free copy of this book, but this review reflects my honest and unbiased opinion.
Avery drove me absolutely nuts. How many red flags does it take to realize your husband is a bad man? Apparently, an endless number. I kept hoping she’d wake up and see what was right in front of her, but instead, she made one frustrating choice after another. Sure, there was a twist, but it was the kind you could see coming a mile away. The writing was decent, but the predictability and Avery’s obliviousness made this one a miss for me.
Here is my review for Love You To Death by Rowen Chambers
This was a really great book to read and I found I got into it straight away, right from the start. I enjoyed the way it was written as it drew me into the book and I was enraptured enough that I couldn’t put the book down as I wanted to know what happened next. I could envision the book in my mind clearly as I read it and thought Logan had a very nasty temper as well as being a pathological liar. I have sympathy for Avery for the illness she has, I have something similar and it’s lousy feeling awful all the time. To lose two years of her memory is dreadful but then to be told lies by a pathological and cunning husband is terrible. It makes you wonder what he is really up to as he is very controlling. He doesn’t like visitors to the house or Avery going outside. He’s keeping her at home, mainly in bed with Rachel or him looking after her and not taking her anywhere, saying it’s too soon after her operation. Avery’s memory is coming back in flashes but it doesn’t match what Logan says so she doesn’t know what to believe. She doesn’t know who she can talk to or trust. It’s a brilliant story, full of suspense. It’s similar to a ‘now’ and ‘before’ book which are books I love and this book is simmering with tension as Logan tries to control Avery’s life, like talking to her boss and saying her work is getting to much for her and it might be better if she gives it up so then she gets let go. Then he’s talking her into joining a committee group which is less hours a week but better for his profile. The story is great and the plot is really well thought out. Some research has been done before this book was written and it shows in the writing. I would love to read more books by this author.
Blurb :
Her marriage seemed perfect. Until her memory came back.
Avery feels lucky to have married such a wonderful man. Logan’s been the perfect husband, helping to piece her life back together after a traumatic brain injury erased her memories.
But Avery’s admiration for Logan turns to concern when she recalls past moments which seem sinister and frightening. Logan insists these memories aren’t real. That what she remembers never actually happened.
So why do these unsettling flashes feel so vivid? And why don’t they match Logan’s version of their perfect life together?
The more Avery remembers, the more she doubts Logan. Is her mind playing tricks on her, or is her husband hiding a terrible secret?
And what will he do if she gets too close to remembering it?
I hate books that blatantly lie in the synopsis just to entice people to read these stories. "Her marriage seemed perfect", she was "lucky to have married such a wonderful man"
Are either that man or their marriage in the room with us? Because right from the start Logan is the kind of abusive piece of you-know-what that makes me hope he ends up dead at the end of the book. From the first moment we meet him it is easy to see that he is a bully who will stop at nothing to make sure his wife "obeys". She is still supposedly recovering from her injury, yet he thinks nothing of grabbing her to the point of pain while he screams in her face and demands his own way, while telling her that she should be "grateful" (seriously, she asks for strawberry cupcakes from a bakery she really likes, he goes to one that is "closer" and brings home dried up stale ones not even in flavor she likes then berates her for being upset about it).
Then there is a time jump going back to before her accident and ...... he's even worse.
Again is the perfect marriage or wonderful man here with us? Because at no point did I even think either of those things were true. She claims he wasn't like this when they were dating (which we don't get to see), and she claims that she sees "flashes" of the man she married in between instances of him abusing her, but to me it came across like him just trying to keep making her think she was imaging things, or more accurately him just trying to save his reputation as that meant the most to him.
God, I'm so over these predictable stories. From the start you know who can and cannot be trusted. It's almost as though the author thinks that their readers are so stupid that they think the glowing neon signs above characters heads will go unnoticed. From the first few chapters I already knew who I could and could not trust.
And while I will give credit where it is due - there was an outside element that I did not see coming, it couldn't save this one. Although, I suppose the ending was satisfying in its own way.
This book is great but it hit a little close to home, as my husband is my caretaker and I have spend almost all of my time in the bed for almost a year but we are changing that now. This is a story about Logan and his wife Avery. Logan came home from work one night to find Avery in a pool of blood. She had somehow slipped and hit her head on the corner of a cabinet on her way down. Due to this she has a lot of memory loss and now has an auto-immune system problem. We had recently lost her brother John in a fire and they were so close that she had a lot of difficulty getting over his death. Logan works most days from home but his office needs him to come in again so he has arranged for Rachel, a neighbor to come over and help take care of Avery when he can not be home.
Everyone including Avery thinks they have the perfect marriage. Avery feels lucky to have married such a wonderful man. He was so loving and kind and had been there every day helping her piece her life and memory back together after the traumatic brain injury erased her memories. When I can not remember something Logan tells me what really happened and all of the details of the incident. Even though sometimes I do not remember he is always there to help me, he is so loving kind and considerate of me and my feelings. Lately I seem to get little flashbacks of memories that seem so real. Logan insists these memories aren’t real. That what she remembers never actually happened. And I have no reason not to trust my loving husband, do I? He would never hurt me, would he?
This is he part where I leave you to read the rest of the book and tell me what you think. Is Logan a dream husband?
Rowan Chambers’ Love You to Death is a gripping psychological thriller that twists the concept of love, trust, and memory into an electrifying tale of suspense. With its unsettling premise and taut storytelling, this novel pulls you in and doesn’t let go until the final, jaw-dropping twist.
The story centers on Avery, who is rebuilding her life after a traumatic brain injury erased her memories. Her husband, Logan, seems like the perfect partner—caring, supportive, and devoted to her recovery. But when fragments of her memory begin to return, Avery is haunted by disturbing flashes that contradict Logan’s idyllic version of their life together. Are these memories figments of her imagination, or is Logan hiding something far darker?
Avery’s journey is both heart-wrenching and empowering, as she navigates the fragile boundaries of trust and self-doubt. Logan, with his veneer of perfection, is as unsettling as he is intriguing, making readers question his every word and action.
Love You to Death is a masterful exploration of memory, manipulation, and the sinister side of love. Fans of Shari Lapena and Lisa Jewell will devour this taut and twisty thriller. Just when you think you’ve uncovered the truth, Chambers delivers a shocking revelation that will leave you reeling.

WOW! What a fantastic book. Love You to Death was full of suspense, drama, betrayal, deceit, and crazy twists that I didn't see coming at all.
Rowen's writing drew me in immediately, and I devoured the book in one sitting. I honestly couldn't put it down.
The characters were all interesting and charismatic. I especially loved Avery, Edith, and Paige. I didn't think it was possible for me to hate a character as much as I hated Jack from Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris, but it seems it is, as I found Logan every bit as repulsive and reprehensible as Jack.
I have read Rowen's books before, which I've also enjoyed, but I think Love You to Death is by far her best yet. I think Love You to Death will especially appeal to fans of B.A. Paris, Liv Constantine, J.P. Delaney, and Chevy Stevens.
I very highly recommend. I'll be impatiently awaiting her next novel. I can't wait to see what Rowen comes up with next. I'm hopeful she might write a sequel following Paige, as that last chapter really intrigued me. 🤞
Thanks to Netgalley, Inkubator Books, and Rowen Chambers for the chance to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I'm reviewing this as part of a tour with Zooloo's Book Tours.
This is a psychological thriller. The protagonist, Avery, is recovering from a traumatic brain injury and has suffered memory loss. Most of the book is told from her perspective.
A few chapters in, I noticed an atmosphere building. I found Avery's husband, Logan, to be an interesting character, but I wasn't sure what to make of him. The more I carried on reading, the more I connected with Avery, and I began to feel afraid for her and unsettled by her situation. I felt the author did a good job of bringing the characters to life on the page, and as their behaviour became more unpredictable, I felt compelled to keep reading.
In particular, I found the latter part of the book to be a nail-biter, as I didn't know which of the characters could be trusted anymore. This was a page-turner, and it was easy to read in one sitting too.
Thank you to Zooloo's Book Tours, and to the author and publisher, for the opportunity to read and review this.
